Super helpfull as always!
Also...1st! Hi Mom!
Wooo nailed it! Pinning to make sure your mom sees it 😁
"how did I know it was 3'50" !! Love it!!
OH SNAP. We are a feature film post house and as some people know, you can have dozens and dozens and dozens of audio tracks that need to be named and have their own default effects ... to be able to have a preset will save so much time!
That Dialogue Processor is packed full, I've never noticed it before. When I process audio I've always switched to the Fusion page and added the processors I need individually, but very little of what I do needs much, if any, audio processing.
I'm a audio tech by trade, I mix concerts around the Midwest in the states. Now that I'm getting older, and my hearing is going down hill, I do very little outside of my home state of Oklahoma anymore.
I have mixed a couple of plays where I used Resolve for audio only. I made sound effects by layering different clips and I had to process all of those individually. Now that I know about this multi processor effect, it will save me time in the future.
Now I'm rambling on and on about nothing. I shouldn't leave comments when I've had no sleep.
Started Davinci a few months ago, and have the basics of editing. Not ready to get into the audio yet, but good to know for the future. Thanks for all your tips!!!
600 videos later, I'm just now learning this??? OH MAN, I am diving into Resolve RIGHT NOW to do this! Thanks!!!
Also, Jay is AWESOME - and his audio class is top-notch :D
Game Changer! Thank you for sharing (teaching) one of the most useful tips for increasing workflow efficiency!
There are some utterly bizarre choices for defaults in Davinci. I did indeed not know this existed 😭
I know right haha! They just need to put the tickbox there by default, even if there's no presets yet. Just to let you know its a possibility!
@@MrAlexTech Exactly! There's so many hidden features I only find out about when someone else mentions them 😆
I had no idea about this! It'll shave a lot of setup time and keep things consistent! Thanks !
What a hidden gem! Emphasis on "hidden"! I had no idea this existed. Thanks for sharing. I had an empty timeline stored in the media pool with all my audio tracks, and I used to have to copy and paste that to create a new timeline so I didn't have to recreate the tracks. I have created a Fairlight preset now, and just have to remember to use it next time I create a new timeline!
That was so useful. I hope BMD will take this to an account to make useful things like presets more seriously. It takes a ton of time to set up all the tracks and the overall sound edits. Such an important thing.
I am embarrassed that I missed this. Thanks for sharing it!
Thanks Alex, I'm sure the majority of us didn't even know this was possible.
Have a great weekend.
Alex, this is great! Truly helpful, as usual. Thank you for all your great vids!
Your killing it Alex! I wish I could have kept going....but too many distractions and life is just too busy with teenagers, great job mate!
Nice work and nice shout out to our man Jason. He has been so helpful when it comes to sound editing in Resolve. He's a good guy. And yes, once again, you managed to find some unobvious thing that is a powerful tool to speed up the editing process. A font! A veritable font of knowledge. Thanks Alex!
This is so useful and for whatever reason, we've been totally unaware of it. Damn - here come the audio presets that will save me so much time and effort. Thanks and keep the good stuff coming. 👍👍👍
Thank you, Alex!
Postponed all of my activities to start DVR and set up Audio Presets :D
Thanks Alex! Very useful tip!
Funny how I was searching for this feature and here we are. It is a good day. Have a great weekend!
Great video and super timely! I literally just watched one of Jason's videos yesterday while trying to fix some audio. I may have to check out his course now! Thanks!
Thanks Alex. My videos usually have just music and original audio tracks, very little talking. But I did NOT know about the presets. Thanks.
Thank you!
Excellent information. Thank you Alex.
That’s a new one on me. I have been spending ages at the start of each project copying these settings over, this will make my next one so easy. 😊
Brilliance & Simplicity. Elegant stuff here, Alex. A million thanks!
That intro was the most british thing i have listened recently🎉😂
I had a cup of Tea and a Scone before hand to help me dial up the Britishness! 😆
Always excellent, always. Thanks, Alex.
Life saver! Thanks
Awesome, this is going to save me a lot of time - big thanks 😄👍
OMG !!!! How did I not know this !!!!! Amazing !!!!
wow this is really useful. Thanks for the highlight
Jason's channel is super helpful!!
Awesome tip, I didn't know about this, it's well hidden - thanks!
Great one. 😊
Another HELPFUL video! Tyty.
Please make how to make audio sound good for vlogs please 🙏
WONDERFUL!!!
As ages old audio guy just my two € cents worth: to get that work on ”every video ” You’ll need to get rid of all other variables on audio production. One preset works on one occasion, next time it`ll will sound horrible and meeds adjusting to spund good. Pre created audiotracks is nice feature to have but from there starts darkness where (audio)magick happends.
I agree. Every situation is a bit different. Even the same person will have a different voice depending on the food or drink they ingested or the time of the day and such. I have to record some videos for work. Always the same sound background, noise and such and I use always the same sound equipment with the same settings. So I used to just copy the previous timeline, brought in the new stuff and then I had to only tweak a bit where things did differ. I like the idea of working with presets for such occasions. @Alex thanks for this idea.
Obviously, if You have always completely different situations, the presets will not help very much. But one could still use them as a base to build on. And if something is completely different, well, then You can still do it from scratch.
OH MY GOD. THIS IS AMAZING. WHY DID I NOT KNOW THIS.
Wait....I'd been reusing timelines for tracks, and of course, the Fairlight settings I used in that timeline, but never knew you could make a Fairlight preset in itself
Thanks 😎
Yeah, Boom 👍 I like it, great, thanks 😁👍👍
Nice - I don't really use Fairlight much, but filing for future reference!
Nice :)
Something not easy to find in Resolve? That only ever happens on days ending in Y
Amazing Mr. Alex, can this be done to edit tracks?save presets? Thnx
love a hidden hack....still learning resolve but is there a preset for the timeline including video tracks, yes you can select how many video and audio, but would be good if all video and audio pre labelled, pre colour coordinated etc
Hidden ad. Nice
Can you export those in case you have to so a PC re-image or prior to a DaVinci Resolve update?
Can it also be done for Video tracks?
And here I am with a blank project set up that I "Save as" every time I start a new edit.
Is there a way to start each new project with a project bins preset?
🤟🙏🏻❤
Can you help please. I updated my resolve to the latest update and now it keeps crashing within seconds of trying to do anything but does not tell me why it crashes
Who knew?
Not sure what is going on. I don't see this stuff and I am using the Studio version.
I've just tried it in the free version and it works.
You have to create the timeline structure, and name the tracks if necessary, then you go to the fairlight page and in the preset library from the menu you have to create a new preset with the option Fairlight Custom Preset Library. Once there is a user-preset created, the tickbox appear allowing to chose this preset when creatin a new timeline with the same tracks and features.
