For this game alone, the PSVR 2 is worth it. After such immersion, it's hard to find pleasure in playing a racing game without it.
100% agree!
Absolutely agree. This is one of the if not the best PSVR2 game.
I just would hope that they update the UI for the VR mode to see when other cars going to the pit or the exact distance to the other cars.
I haven't played racing simulations in 2D for a long time. 3D stereo depth perception with head movement makes racing games much more intense and fun. Yeah, GT7 is the system seller, sadly Sony did such a poor job in the marketing department of the great platform.
I only bought the PSVR2 for GT7...was totally worth it
True ,True......😅😪 cant find Speed without it Now 😢😂so weird to Go back after a Long Time Playing Vr
I will just say that two years ago, I went to Nurburgring with my Celica. One month ago, I got the VR2, and of course, I went to Nurburgring with the Celica... I cried.
These are the comments we love reading. I know that had to be an experience of a lifetime bro!
@@itsrtvbaby Absolutely!!!! And I will repeat as soon as I can.
Gt7 in VR+ steering wheel/racing chair setup has single handedly DESTROYED ruin racing games in general for me in the BEST WAY possible. I can no longer play "flat screen" racing games anymore. The VR experience I get from GT7 is something I had dreamed of for the longest time. Its the gift that keeps on giving, never get tired of it!! Best VR experience ever, and nothing can describe the attention to detail and the "life-like" realism you get through the VR helmet. A word if advise, turn off all the HUD aids for an even more immersive experience
That's an excellent point for no HUD, I'll do that!
@@SuperJonaco you wont regret it! I have played the game for soo long that I have every corner memorized from every track, also I know when to change tires when its about to rain without the need for weather radar. Keep in mind that there are some cars that will relay information to you regarding fuel left, current lap and current position. Use these as a means to eliminate the need for HUD 👌👌👌
@@highpriest90 Which cars? I only know Audi R5 that provides this kind of infos.. It's a shame they can't add a small hud on the side for the race infos like the one for the car's infos without having the bloody thing in the center
@@massimopiantoni682 hey bud sorry for the late reply i hope this helps... You can actually assign how much information is displayed in front of you, or to your side. During a race, go to display settings and select only race info. This will allocate a small HUD to your dash instead of having all that info floating above you. This is your essential stuff such as fuel, mapping settings, weather and tire life. As far as cars that provide info already on its "real" dash, there are a handful that provide that. Cant remember all, but on top of my head the GR.1 jaguar (the purple one) shows you fuel and current lap. The other car is the 99 GR.2 Toyota GT-one that was recently added via update. The only thing that you will have to bring an HUD up for is weather. No way around that. But since im a gt7 veteran, i already know all the races with rain, and around what lap it starts to rain so i never need to pull my weather radar up. If you want to enjoy that immersion, start with the 2 cars i mentioned above until you start familiarizing yourself with track conditions. I hope this helps 👌
@@highpriest90 Thank you for your reply. I already use the small hud with the car's info on the side (it doesn't bother me),. What I meant is that I'd like to have position, laps and time on the side as well. The cars you mentioned have only lap info, no position. It would be so easy to add a small hud, I really don't get why they can't do it
GT7 in VR is probably the most incredible gaming experience of my life!
no. that thing gives you motion sickness. you forgot to mention that.
@@a.g.4843 because u get motion sickness doesn't mean everyone does buddy. sorry u gotta deal with that
This is how I used to imagine the original Gran Turismo on Playstation was when I used to play as a kid. Now the VR headset has made it all a reality.
Arguably the best game ever for me. And it just keeps getting better and better.
Great review! Glad to see you’re enjoying the PSVR 2. 😁 Now we just need a new WipEout or an upgrade for Omega Collection!
That's the plan!
I wanted one since day one. Took a year till I could justify the cost. So worth the wait and met my high expectations. With a wheel and my homemade rig it’s just simply stunning.
I got a PS VR 2 just for this game and it arrived Friday and I didn't take my headset off almost all weekend. Now I'm just waiting for my racing cockpit to show up so I can set that up and it's going to be a wrap
Not quite a wrap....next you will want a four corner haptic system on isolator springs to go with that rig so you can feel what your four wheels are doing on the road...lol (works with simhub for GT7)
I bought GT7 and PSVR2 a few weeks ago. I already owned a PSVR1 so I wasn't new to VR. So I of course had some expectation of how it would feel like.
Nothing can truly prepare you for this experience. The details and graphics. Wide view. The feeling of immersion. It's simply unparalleled. While you don't get the same field of view as in real life, you sort of do since you pretty much get the same view as if you were wearing a helmet. Which your character in game does. And with the headset and VR headset on, it does feel like you are wearing a helmet. It sells the immersion so well.
For anyone that is on the fence about getting it. Do it. It's worth it. It's truly amazing. Start slow. Do short sessions and use slower cars in the start. In a few days/ a week your mind will be used to it. Atm I am easily doing 2-3 hours in one sitting without any issues. I also found having a fan blowing cool air on me helped a lot. As it does get warm. Extra immersion for driving convertibles.
If you think it’s good now, I’ve started adding Symdeck motion to my rig with traction loss, it’s awesome sliding around the rally tracks as ya rig moves left & right at the same time. In normal track races you can feel the back end losing grip before you feel it at the wheel. I’ve also added speed fans that are great at cooling you when using VR and a NLR HF8 haptic seat pad for vibration car & over kerb feedback. GT7 puts out telemetry data.
Yes i have a Motion Sim with Traction Loss and Sway in VR ,it feels so real ,you must try Assetto Corsa with Drift Cars
I've been playing in psvr2 since it got support, it's just awesome 👌🏻
gt7 and psvr2=next wonder of the world..
If you want a F1 experience in GT7, try the Honda RA272. It's available right now in the Legendary Dealership for only 2.5M credits (compared to 20M, it's a bargain!). It doesn't feel like an old school F1 race car. It drives surprisingly like a modern Formula car if you exercise a little throttle control. Just be aware the bolts in the windscreen can give VR users double vision, so look past it and not directly at it. Keep up the great VR racing videos!
Thank you I'll defo check that out!
Psvr2 ruined me I cannot play any other way, about to get a PC for more VR driving
I enjoyed your video. GT7 in VR is simply glorious! I cant go back to playing in pancake mode now. Just subscribed too.
Really it is too bad EA didn't include VR in the F1 game on PS5. The PC version in VR is pretty sweet. I doubt we will see anymore Racing games on PSVR2. And no patches for back compat with PSVR titles like Driveclub VR or Dirt Rally. Sony really dropped the ball with this headset. Typical of them though to bring out a cool product then just give up on it. 100% Agree with you on PSVR2 in GT7 though it's the only way to play that game.
Exactly - I can't see any developer investing the time/money to any game to equal the GT7 experience, it's just not economically worthwhile.
Yeah, I agree!… Not including VR in the latest F1 title from EA was a hugely missed opportunity in my opinion! I think a lot of people would have purchased that F1 game after their experience in GT7, just because it would have made this edition of F1 game very different from the previous years and offer a great experience and good immersion!
They already have another racing game coming. It also has wheel support
@@333335339which game?
Real talk. This is like the only thing I play now. It's so good. I'm judging getting the pro PS5 just based on the improvements I get in playing this in vr.
Sony really needs to release this on PC.
Would a PS5 Pro improve the VR though? I'd imagine it would still be limited by what the headset can output. Visually I'd imagine a Pro would add very little. Probably help loading times etc 😀
Everyone’s talking about the PS5 Pro like it’s the best level of gaming, for one, Sony haven’t even discussed the PS5 Pro existing, let alone what it is or isn’t capable of.
Until Sony actually come out and say it’s here and here are the specs keep your mind active with other details you can control. It’s a waste of your energy.
-
But as the channel owner said, PS5 Pro regardless of specs wouldn’t improve PSVR2 gaming whatsoever.
Ps4 -> ps4 pro did improve the last GT performance.

Nice review!
Just a precision but the game runs in 60Hz reprojected to 120, not in native 90. But,maybe we can expect some native refresh rate with PS5 pro!
Yep my error there, thanks for clarifying 👍
@@SuperJonaco you're welcome! I'm trying to answer to another user in the comments who says he's worried about getting a PSVR2 because he has glasses, but my comments get removed... 🤔 I thought that it was because I cited a brand of prescription lenses, so I removed the brand and tried again but my comment still gets instantly removed... 🤔 Any idea?
I love these late honest reviews over day 1 hype train reviews.
Just got my PSVR2 a few days ago and it has transformed the game for me. It is definitely not as clear as running on a 4K TV but as you say, it is hard to describe how it looks and feels, even with reduced resolution and some far distance blockiness/blurriness, until you are in it.
Great video and save! I went down this exact same process and upgrade path. PSVR2 is incredibly smooth and immersive! I don't do daily races or TT without it!
I cant go back to normal tv anymore. I've had this for almost a year and is going to cost me my marriage...LOL....My wife can't get me off it. I have heard some people complaining about the headset, saying it gets too hot to handle wearing a VR unit. I find this to be part of the experience as after i have a few intense races, I take it off and i have sweat running everywhere. If you were a real racing driver you wear a helmet and you get the same effect. I feel I have really been in a race and it's worth all the heat and sweat. I just wouldn't go back. My wife limits me to three races in a row. Not because I'm under the thumb, but because I have severe Epilepsy and the concentration and the sweating can bring on a seizure. I'm cool with that though, because I cannot drive a real car anymore since giving up my license 16 years ago. This game has taken me right back to a hobbie I loved. I only need to convince my wife now, for me to get a motion rig, pedals and wheel....Donations welcome....lol. Once I get my hands on this hardware, I have all I need to satify this itch. Great game...
I've subscribed to you channel .
Thank you!
Very interesting - just got a PS5, and have been looking at second hand PSVR2’s on eBay.
I’ve been amateur photographing IMSA races like Rolex 24 at Daytona for a few seasons and aside from a lack of track view control in the VR replay, the experience is very authentic especially the audio. Room for improvement; sure but as-is it’s not filler and totally worth further dev iterations.
Other than the clarity issues of anything over 5 meters away, it’s pretty perfect.
I got my VR yesterday! I can't do more than 3 laps so far without feeling a little dizzy. Slow and steady to get used to it
I was the same, 20 mins, then 30, then an hour, and now no problems. Re-centering to get correct POV helps loads
Chewing gum or having a fan on in your face can help. It did with me, I could only last 10 mins at a time but after a few weeks the nausea had all but gone…apart from when coming to a full stop or going in reverse. That still takes more getting used to!
Oh thank god you picked it up second hand! When I saw this was 2 weeks old I was dreading that you might have missed the recent price drop. Great review dude, thank you
Thanks for the great video! I have neither a PS5 nor the VR headset but I want both so, so badly after this haha
My biggest gripe with PSVR2 is the how "not sharp" it is. It's like looking at a 720p screen. Sadly, even though it's not OLED, my Meta Quest 3 produces are far superior picture (in terms of resolution & clarity) than the PSVR2, and with its pancake lens, it looks quite amazing. And wireless! If we can get the MQ3 to have full VR support on the PS5, I may never go back to my PSVR2 for GT7. The only thing I will give the PSVR2 over my MQ3 is the black levels, which for me to reach for my MQ3 over my PSVR2, tells me that it's almost there.... not quite... even if it was wired, being a higher res and pancake with the OLED would've been the best. But the PS5 just doesn't have the HP to drive 2x 4K screens like that without sacrificing a significant amount of detail... a RX6700 will still be a RX6700, no matter what how well you optimize it for performance (usually meaning sacrificing details for other details that are more "noticeable").
Mine gets delivered tonight. Tgt 2. With all accessories already plugged in. Im so ready.
I own it and love racing GT7 - But there's some of ideas from playstation. It sometimes loses the connection and needs new position in the middle of racing, and then it want me to look around, which is crazy when only using locked position ( Race seat ) let me choose Locked position only in option, so I skip all the nonsens. I only use PS5-PSVR2 for racing GT7.
But I must admit, I'm very disappointed that EA-WRC is PC exclusive, and AC Evo is probably ending the same way.
It's apparently META Quest 3 that has the biggest success with VR Racing ( which is growing faster and faster )
But Yes it's an amazing experience driving GT7 in VR.
And with the upcoming update with the great old favourite track Eigar Nordwand, I'm going to Enjoy myself Big Time and send good vibes to PD.
It sometimes loses connection mid race? Seriously? You’re the first person I’ve ever heard say that. I’ve been raving since GT7 was given VR support and I race in a cockpit, and never. NEVER had any connection issues or tracking issues with the PSVR2 during races or otherwise.
I suggest you light your room more because you’re one in a million of people with any issues of this nature.
You can buy the Sony psvr2 adapter for pc just in case you want to try more titles
I have only experience Gran Turismo Sport's VR mode for the Playstation Pro with the original VR headset. It's a blurry mess but not TOO bad, I know what you mean by needing really experience it. I wish I had a good sim setup so I could play in VR + have that extra added immersion. Maybe someday...
I have a drivehub as well running a logitech pro wheel and pedals (pc version) on gt7 with psvr2...love it.
this is an excellent review, very well explained
I can't race flat screen anymore. 🥺
I went back to GT7 on screen and it just felt so slow!
Thankyou for a very informative vid. 👍🏽
I need this experience in my life! Is the headset stand sold separately normally?
Yeah separately but defo not essential
Great review. After getting to A+ in GT Sport, and maintaining that rating through to GT7 its fair to say I've got and handle some decent lap times.
But after getting PSVR2, I started beating my old lap times immediately. I believe this due to the 1:1 fov you get in VR.
GT7 on a flat screen has no fov settings. It's fixed and nobody really knows what it is set at so to get it right you have to have to be at the perfect distance from your perfect sized screen in order to gain a proper sense of speed and in turn gain some valuable milliseconds.
So i would argue GT7 in VR makes you faster as most players on a flat screen do not have the correct field of view and its holding them back.
I also had trouble jumping from ACC back to GT7 because of this. But now with VR i dont have that problem. I have the correct fov in ACC on a flatscreen and jumping back into VR on GT7 is second nature, only with much more emersion and awesomeness.
Great info - can't wait to learn it properly now I've got my VR legs! Thanks!
@@SuperJonacoI look Forward to watching your journey. Subscribed.
Try the Lamborghini LP640 in the Tokyo tunnels. Crazy sound..
I'm assuming many here that love GT7 in VR are first time VR users. I had the same experience in this space on the PC side and never looked back. I've dumped a ton of money getting the best VR experience possible. This of course spoils you and why I found PSVR2 a poor experience for me. The mura effect is over the top and distracting along with the glare in dark scenes (oled side effect combined with choice of lens). I would love for Sony to bring GT7 to PC and let it be VR compatible so we on the PC side can extract more out of it. Nothing comes close to GT7's game design and there should be VR to match it.
Bought a PSVR2 for GT7 only, but resolution is still a no match compared to a 4K TV. Not blurry, but still not detailed enough. FOV is also an issue, still too narrow. VR will be great in a decade at least, where we will get affordable VR headset with big FOV and high resolution.
Good job !! Agree with you !
Can't recall exactly but I think there might be some Mercedes Lewis inspired 2018 F1 cars?
But nice video 👍
In GT Sport yes there was, strange to not have it it GT7 considering he still an ambassador...
Glad you had a good experience with PSVR2, not sure if you know but Sony are selling a PC adapter in August as they seem to be ending support for it after just 2 years on the PS5.
It will be compatible with Steam so you can play all those F1 & rally games in VR on PC
Every other racing game on PS5 isn’t offering VR but most that were released on the PS4 did, it’s just a shame the PSVR1 isn’t compatible with PSVR2
Yeah frustrating I can't play dirt etc. My pc isn't quite capable for VR but I think it's inevitable an upgrade will soon be on the cards... 😀 Thanks for watching!
most racing games on PSVR offered VR? No they don’t. Not at all.
Beautiful thumbnail
Gotta love scapes 😀
my headset arrives today!! i cannot wait to start gt7 in vr!!!! but for now i have to stick with the controller, i'll get a wheel and pedal setup just a soon as my wife lets me....
This review is on point
Cheers!
Bose q35 headphones work great with PSVR guys!
now you need a buttkicker under your seat and a fan to blow air on you, these are a total game changer
I dont think there's any games on console which are compatible? Unless just going by audio rather than a dedicated feed?
@@SuperJonaco there are loads of games that work with the buttkicker on console, but you need to use a pc and have simhub running to get them to work correctly, i use a 3.5mm audio cable from the headphone port on my pc to the buttkicker.
How's the ffb using the hub? I've heard it feels more like a csl elite in terms of ffb compared to a DD? Be intrigued to hear your thoughts as it seems like a waste buying a pro when you already have a csl DD...
The hub works great. It perhaps has a little less detail overall (I'm running 8nm DD, set at 3/5 in-game sensitivity) but coming from F1, it feels pretty much the same level as what I'm used to. Absolutely worth it if you've already got a wheel but not PS-compatible. I hear recent hub updates have fixed some latency issues (and a strange game slowdown effect). Main thing is, I can play GT7 with my wheel and I don't even think about the quality, it's absolutely fine 😀
@@SuperJonaco thanks for the reply, that's great to hear, maybe it's possible to increase the ffb on the wheel itself if required, not sure it works the same when connected to a console through the hub?
Good points,
Algorithm bless you.
Ended up selling my PSVR2 because after adding the prescription lens inserts, I could no longer get it to fit right. The lenses just stick out too much.
Spot on its so good. I'm the same can't play flat screen anymore. Just wish f1 and wrc were vr on the ps5. Ea suck
I get nausea just from watching this video, especially the rally part. I’ve tried VR headsets before and it just makes me super uncomfortable and sick sadly.. I did enjoy your review though, good job!
I think newer headsets are a lot better for the motion sickness but yeah there's still limits for a lot of people. Thanks so much for watching!
Do you need to have lots of room to set up the VR? Or can you set it up while sitting in the cockpit?
It's literally just one usb cable to the console, I just keep it on a table beside the rig, put it on and play, very simple, no more troublesome than turning on a controller. Setup is literally two button presses to set position once on.
Nice 1 brother, subbed n liked, look foward to the journey 👍🏁
Thank you 😊 🙏
a year later than all others haha
Nice video
Thanks!
Could you tell me how to get my tv screen + sound to stay on when i put the VR2 on?
It should just be on by default no? 😀
I wish they would release this for pcvr. I'm not going back to console just for one game
pcvr sim racing ftw
Thank you for the review. How much worse is the graphics compared to Gt7 on normal screen?
Not much difference at all , in car is the same and outside the car is a little downgraded
Of course it's not as crisp, but i'd say nothing that causes any sort of distraction or makes you feel like you're 'missing out' from the 4k flatscreen. The depth perception from the stereophonic image massively outweighs a resolution difference imo
@@SuperJonaco I am worried that wearing glasses will degrade the experience
@@Atum1c I wear glasses and I am worried about that
@@giacintorenta7579 yo I got prescription lenses that insert in the headset - they are cheap too , I went for vr rock ones but you could research which ones might be better - game changer and get the globular cluster and no more adjusting ever , just put the headset on and play
Is it possible to play gt7 with dualsense5 and psvr2? in couch? thanks
Yes indeed!
LOL this channel only has 19 subs well consider me number 20
Ha yep just started out! Thanks!
Very nice review !!!! Keep making cool videos :) +1 sub from me :)
Awesome thank you!
Hello
Subbed
Awesome thanks!
Too bad that the supposedly planned PC version of GT 7 was just a fakemessage, I also had the PSVR 2 for a short time but compared to the Quest 3 I found the picture not so great because of the Mura and small sweet spot and sent it back.
Q3 doesn’t have HDR nor OLED blanks though.
@@kraenk12 Yes, but it's useless for me if I have to look through the Mura veil, which ruins the whole impression of the picture. Not everyone sees Mura to the same extent, but according to some tests, around 30% perceive it as very annoying on the PSVR 2. Mura is unfortunately a common problem when OLED panels are used for VR, I've had a few OLED Headsets (Rift CV1, Quest 1, HTC Vive) but with the PSVR 2 the Mura is particularly bad.
Can you play lying down on a bed?
Pretty impossible as you need to set up the "play area" which I think by default is upright. If laying down you can't turn to see behind you either... so no, not practical
i always feel sick after playing for 10 minutes with psvr2....that thing sucks and i think it is very unhealthy. I mean for every one.
Great work 😊
