Thanks for this video. It's a perfect compliment to the professional development course I'm attending at the College of Biomedical Equipment Technology.

Hopefully can start working soon. Prior military. I’ve been in a pre-employment status for a GS position since June and a civilian hospital since the first week of September. Best accomplishment was an overhaul of a dental department. Built 12 Adec 511 units with the help of a senior BMET at the North Chicago VA. Did all the plumbing and electrical. San Antonio, Texas.

Hey! worked at wilford hall on lackland for 4 years. Donno what the job market is like where you're at, I'm an engineer now doing R&D in biologic development. I've seen a giant need all over the place in the lab space. From metrologists in labs, to vendor service technicians (everyone seems to desperately need them). If you can get interviews and are able to explain the work you've done there's a giant range of career paths you could take. You're set

How do I get started in BMET? I ETS'd in '96 & have been in Networking since that time. Looking to make a change now. I was 29Y Satellie Eqipment Repair, when I was active duty so I had training in electronics & even a little A/C. We also had to do calibrate our own TMDE & BMET equpiment (that I have seen) does not look disimilar.

Never really mentioned patients...passion was close.
    patient care !!!
    Damn!!!

Almost every time I hear "patient care" I think to myself BS.. - esp when those words come from hospital executives. The word passion encompasses much more than just patient care because more than patient care is involved. Of course we're here for the patients. The 3 pillars of clinical engineering: increase patient safety, decrease costs and decrease downtime.

      @@BetterBiomedChannel ... patient care is safety......dang

I get it. What I'm saying is that the phrase "its about patient care" has become a cliché. Most people who say it are collecting a paycheck - from my experience.
