What impresses me the most is how he combines speed, power, technique and control in a consistent way.
If you wanna see what he is capable of in new slipknot's songs, watch he playing "means to an end" witch is his own composition for Sepultura.

"Means to an end" is one of the best metal tracks of all time.. its just.. absurd.. the delayed atack on chorus is just so fking perfect.
this is the best song that eloy plays to sepultura, in my opinion. He talks about this song on Drumeo, about brazilian culture's influence on his style of drumming and you can understand the solo on this song. The solo is actually a samba! Yes i'm brazilian and I'm so proud and happy to see him in slipknot, one of my favourite bands.

this guy, before there was any speculation about going to slipknot, was already appearing on several magazine covers as one of the best drummers in the world.....about him going to slip, james root started following him on instagram, tortilla, the bass player too.... he spent 13 years in the grave, he is a very humble person... I know this because I've been following him for a while.

The key word here is "creative" on slipknot's note about Jay's departure. I cant think of any Slipknot songs that have jay's signature on it in the past 10 years. When we remember Joey, there are many of those songs where u hear it and you're like "thats Joey". We'll def see that with Eloy if he joins the band

Greatest metal drummer in the world who can also play any style. He’s a monster with unbelievable technique. Seen him live and he is MURDEROUS, the stamina is insane. A drumming freak.
As a drummer.. I can say this. And I’m gonna say it very firmly. Jay was really good and did a great job with Slipknot. But he wasn’t Joey. It was glaringly obvious. That's one of the few times I'm proud of being brazilian. Eloy is a real gem, a great human being, and probably the best metal drummer we got for a good amount of years

Dude! I watched this the other day because if popped up in my feed because i watch Slipknot videos and have been a fan since back in the day. I've seen Eloy play before but when i watched this i had goosebumps. He fucking destroyed this song! In a good way! I seen Joey play this so many times and even in the beginning Joey never played this hard. Plus the different fills Eloy through in there were so precise and fast were so brutal. So yeah this was refreshing to say the least. Great reaction video too man. Great how this algorithm works here on UA-cam 🤘

Dude Eloy playing drums for slipknot makes me excited for the band all over again that I lost years ago. Please god let it be him. His rendition is even nastier then the original.

He is also known in Brazil by being super humble and also a friendly person. When asked about why not trying to play some Jazz, he just answerer: "oh no, Jazz is completely different from what Im used to play, Im not good enought to play this kind of music"
I hope to see him behind the drums with slipknot, if they don’t choose him, it would be the biggest mistake of their lives. I think Eloy will bring a new energy and passion, and hopefully that is infectious to the rest of the band given that the 25th anniversary of their self titled albumis coming up. There’s a lot of exciting things ahead for the band, Eloy is a beast.

Funny about all this talk that I hope comes true. I've seen Slipknot 5x, 3x with Joey and 2 with Jay. Big fan. But there's was a video years ago with Corey saying Slipknot will have revolving members and keep going even after the originals are gone.

Actually Sepultura has their original Bassist still, Paulo Jr. is with the Band since their beginning.
Andreas Kiser and Paulo Xisto are original members of Sepultura.

Eloy can compose well, he’s been making new songs for sepultura and his side projects for more than a decade, and he’ll probably bring a lot of originality to the band with his proficiency in brazilian rythms, check his videos on drumeo
Seeing Joey back in the old knot days is something i will never forget and if u seen them back then u definitely understand what I mean but jay is awesome also he plays great live but nothing compares to the og lineup
