Particleboard or MDF? MDF is much denser than the OSB I used, but also more pricey. Particleboard is what IKEA furniture is made out of and isn't as durable or fun to work with.
The Workshop I used High density particle board its counter top material it's easy to break if you are not careful but it has amazing results when you do it right.
I can relate to this type of DIY project, having done many, similar projects for both home & car ...specifically improvising 6x9 speakers into home stereo cabinets with killer results. My Q: is relative to the 6 min. :45 sec. point on the time line where 'TWS' incorporates paper cut-outs for the 6x9 [templates] ~ "Why this step'?" ~ when you could have used the frame of a 6x9 speaker and simply (& in a matter of seconds) drawn a pencil line around the physical 6x9 frame? - This would've provided a perfect pattern with far less steps, and when the jig saw shows`up ...cut approx. 3/8 in. -[ to the inside ]- of your pencil mark. The method: razor into flimsy paper over an indiscernible cut path seems to be an unnecessary step. ~ I'm jus sayin
Thank you for your comment Greg. I definitely have a lot to learn still in the "method" department. The reason it was done that way was because that's what came to mind in the moment. If I ever redo this or make another one, I will try the method you describe above!
+The Workshop Put the paper down over the old holes, then use a crayon held sideways to highlight the edges of the speaker holes. You can then use a pair of scissors to cut out the holes. It also works for making hole templates for power strips etc.
great video!!!
Wow holy crud man you have a ton of subs now! How did that happen nice job!
Thanks man! you're getting up there too! keep up the good work, I cant wait to see your next video
Where'd you get that wood, some abandoned house it looks like!
Should have a partition between the two drivers. Ported would have been more bass which you need with a 6x9
You dont do much carpentry . Do you. More power to you for getting in there and doing it yourself
I would recommend using particleboard instead of plywood. A lot denser
