Thanks for the videos I’ve got pretty severe spinal stenosis (narrowing) at C5-C6 and C6-C7. Just had 2 injections today hoping they work. If not surgery is the next step. Hoping it doesn’t come down to that, but your videos are uplifting.
Hi Stephen, I am doing great. Playing Tennis again, and really no residual issues from having the surgery done. I am a little bit past 6 months from surgery. I have no regrets. I was in bad shape. Constant pain, burning, numbness in both hands. It was bad. Now both hands work better than they have in 20 years! Check out some of my other videos so you can see how I progressed through it. One of the biggest most important things for spine health is blood flow and movement. As soon as your Dr. gives you the ok to walk, ride exercise bike, etc... do it. It will help expedite the healing process. If you have any questions, please reach out to me. I'll be sending good wishes, good vibes, and prayers your way. You got this!
I am going to the neurosurgeon on September 7th. Happy I found your video. I really hope you do a video after tell us all how it went and what to expect. I deal with daily migraines and other headaches. I have even had a nerve stimulator implanted but had to have it removed because of complications. Please let me know if this helps with your head pain. Best of luck
I am so sorry to hear of your issues. I will definitely do a follow up video (now that I know that it can possibly help someone) wishing you all the best.
Having this done in Jan/2023 after my birthday (62) starting to have problems holding things, my arms and hands go into spasms, mobility in my neck is minimal. Have nerve damage in all parts of body, carpal tunnel syndrome and neuropathy in both legs, dizziness. Having lower lumbar surgery next year. After watching Drs video’s here on UA-cam and seeing what they do I’m scared shitless. Hope your well as I see this is a year old.
Hi Rich. I’m doing great! Check out my whole series including the one year update. Having this surgery was a life changer for me (in the best possible way) I hope it is a positive experience for you too.
@@BarrysRecovery first I hate being put to sleep, always afraid of not waking up. 2nd afraid of all those things they push to the side vocal cords, esophagus, always afraid my voice or swallowing will be a problem, was that a problem for you? How long were you in the hospital after surgery. Glad your doing well 👍
@@richmikol7165 I felt the same. But, I have to say, the meds they use now are awesome. Very quickly put out and very quickly come out of it. I documented the voice issue in this video ua-cam.com/video/W8m7w_DghTQ/v-deo.html and swallowing issues in some later ones. The voice was only shot for a day or so, swallowing issues lasted a week or so, but faded and it’s been all good stuff.
@@BarrysRecovery that’s great to hear, happy your doing so well and thank you for your response’s. In fact I have to go to the neurosurgeon today with the new ct reports to compare with the MRIs This is the surgeon I wanted last year to do it but didn’t take my insurance, so my spine surgeon was doing it( very good surgeon) but this other guy was brain surgeon and upper cervical surgeon only. My luck he changed groups and now takes my insurance and he and my surgeon are friends and both will be doing it together. So that makes me feel better.
Thank you for this documentation, mine was scheduled today and I am scared. But the pain you describe is wearing me down. I'm more afraid of anesthesia than healing, at a tiny 100 lbs.😂
I’m sorry you need this done. Hopefully me sharing my experience will calm your fears. I was so excited to get it done. I was so tired of the pain. When are you having it done, and what level(s)?
@@pacoy5319 ok, you really cracked me up….”non stop hell” level. Sounds like you need a two level discectomy and fusion as the discs between 4/5 and 5/6 need replacement.
Oh, now I got it...three...? Possibly to 7. Might have been distracted, as I walked in with BP @ 116/72... When I left, my legs were like rubber and could hear my blood!

. I tell people a back problem is a real issue.!!, wish me luck.
Good luck to you. You've got this!

Good luck. For me the injections did provide some relief (albeit temporary). Hoping your relief is more long lasting.🤞
I’m having the same surgery in the same area on 3/14/22. Hope you are doing better.
