In your newsletter you asked what make us smile.....You do. This was so fun watching you play and get excited with the process. The cool thing about gel printing is there is no ooops. I have a bunch of prints I absolutely hate so I went back and put on more layers and really improved the print. You can use the sprays (not the Dina Wakely they will dry permanent) but glitter acrylic, alcohol ink (carefully), distress inks, stamps, stencils and lifting from die cuts for ghost images. Blessings and Smiles.
I have seen people use their cutting plates from their die cutter as a mount to use for their gel plates. It makes it easier to handle when they are using it when it’s wet. :)
I am more a crafter than a art journaler but it look like a lot of fun playing around with paint. I keep seeing things and getting ideas. Especially when you put a circle of light blue by the dark blue bar on paper. I thought: “ooo a city scape.”
How fun!! Love all the colors and the stencil prints are fabulous. The only thing I’ve done in my black journal is doodle. I’m using white but I’m adding some color, too. The acrylograph pens would work great, I think. 🌹🌹🌹
It’s addicting once start lol none comes out exactly the same which is one of the cool things but I also found 12x12 unwaxed deli paper on Amazon that’s very thin and great for using and then collaging and easy to rip up into pieces....enjoy and more play times would be fun for us to watch too:):) TFS
Thanks for doing this video! I’m very new to the gel printing as well and I’m loving it too!!! I would like to see more videos using the gel technique!
Awesome, Elisa! If you want more gel printing instruction or inspiration, 2 artists to check out are Lydia Fiedler & Carolyn Dube. Lydia has done several gel print videos on her UA-cam channel at Understand Blue. Carolyn is into funky stuff like you were doing, and has a really upbeat & energetic delivery. Anyway, just a couple of suggestions for you. Would love to see more gel printing videos from you. Thanks for sharing, take care, & have a wonderful day! :)
I really enjoyed watching you have fun. If you haven't seen her videos, look up Umut Rados. She does her prints on sticker paper and uses stamps and I think that would be up your alley. Also if you do let the paint dry, it does come off and gives you a grungy effect. More suited for art journaling.
Yes please! I just bought a gel plate and am looking for ideas what to try. I don’t have any acrylic paints yet. But am wondering if the distress oxides would be ok to use?
I wanted to correct myself, Umut does a lot of mini art journals. It is Susanne Rose Art that does the gelli printing with stamps. I watch too much youtube.🦥
Yes, Please ... I’d love more Gel Plate videos.
Thank you for your informative videos.
You got it!
