I don’t understand why the answer for question #1 is proximal to the foot vs superior to the foot. Would you mind explaining what wording in the question itself that I’m confusing within these two separate descriptions? Or am I confusing the category in which I should apply proximal/ distal vs superior / inferior? Even with your explanation, I’m still wondering why was I wrong? 😆

Proximal and distal are preferred when referring to the extremities of the body (i.e. arms, legs, hands, and etc.). Saying that the neck is superior to the knee is correct, but the question is referring to the structures of the same limb, the leg. I hope this explanation helps!

That's great you got most of them right, that is a good sign! You're totally right that you of course won't know the exact questions you'll get on the test, but that is why Smart Edition Academy created our HESI online course. Hi Forrest, haha it depends on what classes you have taken, some students have taken pre-reqs like A&P 1 and 2 so if you have done that you might be in a better position for this section of the test. Have you taken those pre-reqs yet? You can check out our free timed practice test here: www.smarteditionacademy.com/free-hesi-a2-practice-test/ It gives a score report at the end that organizes each question by the topic it relates to within A&P so you can get a better idea of what your weak areas are. From there you can plan to focus more of your time on those weak areas. Our HESI online course has a ton of materials and resources like lesson modules, video lessons, timed practice tests, flashcards and a question bank to help you study those weak areas. Once you have done that you can go back and take another different practice test and you should start to see your scores improve. Concerning the question on the dermatologist and sebaceous glands: why should the answer be stratum corneum when sebaceous glands are located in the dermis. What am I not getting right?

Couldn't number 1 also be Superior? The knee is above the foot in the anatomical position...... no?
Yes it can. This question was in an assignment for my class and I argued that it is also superior. They should take this question out since it goes either way. I got the points for it tho >:)
I'm honestly not sure but I think since most of this questions ask for the "best" answer, it would be proximal? superior makes sense too but since this is a part of a limb then proximal would be more fitting :)
honestly, I think superior is the most right answer. proximal bring confusion
You use proximal/distal for extremities (arms and legs)
If person is sleeping then, it is not superior but still proximal.

No it would be illegal for us to publish copyrighted questions from the actual test. Our practice tests and questions are designed to be just like the real test questions though so you can be fully prepared for the real test. Do you have your test date scheduled yet?
