As an experienced player I still found this useful and accurate. This video is quite comprehensive on what can be done with macros and I'm mainly commenting here just to help it get more exposure. Great job!
I have played WoW for more than 10 years, and I learnt so much more watching this less than 1 hour video. Easy to understand. Good demonstration (using dummy
Holy bananas Batman - I’ve only recently found your channel and oh my it’s amazing! As a software engineer and veteran wow player I’ve often been very frustrated with how unsupported a lot of the “power user functionality” within WoW truly is. No longer is that the case though as all of your content is solid gold! I’m so happy that your guides are informative, easy to follow and assume no previous knowledge - as this is exactly the kind of thing I’ve wished existed to share with less technical guild members/new players. Thank you so very much for everything you are doing for the community!
Awesome guide. Been playing for 18 years and use and create my own macros frequently, but this is a very useful guide. Showing all the various use cases to show the power and value of macros is so important and this is the only guide I’ve seen that does a good job here. Subscribed!
I honestly can't say thank you enough for this video. I've never understood macros very well and the written guides can be kind of hard to understand in a lot of cases.
Quazii, you are the best! I love listening to you, and you always have useful things for me. even as a WoW vet I always seem to learn something new. And, the fact that you always sound upbeat makes your videos enjoyable. thank you so much for everything you do. I look forward to years of content from you ^_^
Thank you for keeping your video true to its title and not just click bait!! Very new to the game, and feel as though I can create any macro I'd need (just as soon as I figure out all the talent/abilities lol) Looking forward to learning more from your channel.
Quazii thank you for a great video, it is extremely helpful and informative. Please keep up the amazing content! I am trying to create a macro that will consume Healthstone and then after it's charges Algari Healing Potion, I have found a handful of options online but none are consistent or work at all. If Healthstone isn't available then it would consume the Algari Healing Potion. It is easy to setup and have it consume both at once, but not one over the other. I would appreciate anyone's help with making one that would work, if it is even possible. Thanks!
help (or harm) can't be resolved as true if it doesn't exist, so having both in a condition is pointless, better have it like help, nodead instead so the macro doesn't try to cast at dead units
@@Armageddoniton if that one spell can affect both (like penance) then just exists is enough, if u want to cast different spells for friends/enemies then just an appropriate condition help/harm is OK, no need to use both exists and help/harm
I've been watching all your vids!!! They've helped me so much as a returning/ technology challenged individual! But I can't find how you do that with your mouse pointer? I'm sure i must have missed it but I definitely need something cuz I'm always losing my pointer lol
Thank you for doing such a video, even though I knew basically everything you covered, it was enjoyable to listen to your thorough explanation. And so I will share the favorite macro for warlock that I made to use the command demon action, heal the pet, summon or re-summon with Fel Domination on a single button for Demonology: ```/use [pet,mod:alt]Health Funnel;[@focus,exists,mod:ctrl,pet][pet]Command Demon /stopmacro [@pet,nodead,pet] /use [combat]Fel Domination /use [mod:alt]Summon Sayaad;[mod:shift]Summon Voidwalker;[mod:ctrl]Summon Imp;Summon Felguard``` and for the two other specs: ```/use [pet,mod:alt]Health Funnel;[@focus,exists,mod:ctrl,pet][pet]Command Demon /stopmacro [@pet,nodead,pet] /use [combat]Fel Domination /use [mod:ctrl]Summon Felhunter;[mod:alt]Summon Voidwalker;[mod:shift]Summon Imp;Summon Sayaad``` Also I must say that [@focus, exists] is the same thing as [target=focus, exists] but it's shorter, and while you must use spell names to cast them in your macros, you can use their ID with the know: conditional
Your Macro's are insane! Good Job...But I still need to go over the video 50 times before I understand this. Its big brain stuff and my brain goes on strike when he takes in what you are saying here!
@quazzi isn't /startattack the same as the 'Action Targeting' option in the ingame settings they added to Dragonflight? Similarly the @mouseover targeting modifier is largely replaced with the Mouseover casting setting (also added in Dragonflight). You also mentioned once that the talent:Row was changed in Dragonflight to known: instead - I'd love to see an updated guide that talks about the deprecations or additions relative to Dragonflight
While of course you can set up all your healing spells with macros, I would still recommend using Clique as a healer. Macros do not make it redundant. It keeps them centralized, easily accessed and altered, and setting them up is far simpler. The point of Clique is allowing you to use modifiers in combination with your mouse buttons, and freeing up keybinds. You don't need to have Chain Heal on a keybind, you can just shift+left click on a raid frame, for example. Great vid as always Quazii
/cancel aura Blessing of Protection /use Blessing of Protection save yourself having separate cancel aura macros. 1st press, cast BoP, 2nd press cancel the aura
Very well explained video! One question about announcing within a macro. What if you are spamming the button, it will spam the announcement right? Is there a way to limit that spam within the macro?
Cancel Aura macros no longer needed to remove your own immune abilities. You just press the button a 2nd time and it removes it. But still useful to remove BoP etc.
Helpful tip for Paladins, but also anyone else really. You can directly target a party member with @party1 (or 2,3,4,5). This is helpful for Entangling where you want to hard macro a party member for Freedom every time (and it casts on you also with the talent). I usually use it for the healer so they don't have to think about moving at all and stopping their cast. Do /tar @party1 before to figgure out who you want.
Hello Quazii, thank you so much for your videos. Your channels is my go to for any info i need. But just a questions, it is possible to macro, say for Prot Paladin. If i press the button, if my health is low, say below 40%, i cast Word of Glory. If not, i continue casting SoR?
Thank you for yet again superb guide. For cast sequence, I’ve macro’d several cast abilities into just one key bind . Is there a way to set it up where clicking the key bind goes directly straight to the available casting ability instead of clicking the keybind until it reaches the available one? Thanks for the help.
Keep in mind you need to eat Doritos for this macros to work. Lol. Amazing tutorial QUAZII thank you for the time you send teaching us, my game improved immensely since I follow your tutorials. You my friend are the MR. MASTER CLASS. Big hugs.
Been watching a while, subbed finally. QUESTION!! Specifically for something like Mana Tea for Mistweavers, what macro could I use to stop channeling it so I don't use all my stacks? Ideally looking for one button start and stop scenario but I wouldn't mind having two. /stopcasting /cqs I don't think this will work..
The easiest thing to do would be to use escape to stop the channel, otherwise you would need to have another spell interrupt Mana Tea. You could use something like /use [channeling:Mana Tea] Tiger Palm;Mana Tea if you wanted to go that route, but then you would need to be in melee and you might as well press your bind for tiger palm instead. There are some toys that might work to cancel the channel AND are usable in combat AND don't trigger a gcd, but you'd have to test that(I'm on a WoW hiatus). Things like Stackable Stag used to be macro'd into abilities for melee who wanted to appear to have a higher apm in logs, though the toy cooldown would be prohibitive for that as often as MW uses Mana Tea
If you are playing a hybrid class or healer, you can practically have 4 spells on 1 button( you could have 6 spells but 255 character limit won't allow it). Every healer class has a dot, hot, flash heal and smite kinda spells. this is how you do it: #showtooltip /use [mod:alt,combat] Bloodlust; [@mouseover,mod:shift,help,exists][help] Healing Surge; [@mouseover,mod:shift,harm,nodead][]Lightning Bolt;[mod:alt,@player] Riptide;[@mouseover,nodead,exists,help][help,nodead] Riptide;[@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Flame Shock; This will Healing Surge on friendly targets and Lightning Bolt on enemy targets over the mouse when holding shift, Riptide when targeted yourself and holding alt or hovering on a friendly, Flame Shock on a hovered or targeted enemy Plus it will BL if you are in combat and not targeting yourself.
Hi, is it possible to add some conditions in macro, for example as Frost Mage, when 5 iciles are available, cast Glacial Spike instead of Frost Bolt ? Based on ressources, how many iciles stacks are up ... don't know :) thanks for help btw, great video !
I have a question, how can you use te announce a spell only if it is actually casted, for example, if you press the keybind of an ability on CD, it will trigger the ‘say’ command but not caste the spell
Technically no and it's nice to have the option in the base UI, especially for newer players, but macros give you more granular control. The in-game version will just cast anything at any valid target which can be frustrating.
hey, I was wondering if there is a macro that for healthstone and healing pot that uses the Hs first then the pot on the same button, without using modifires?
if you are trying to maximize output it's best to have separate binds, but for keybinding efficiency at lower level play it's possible. If you don't spam the button, as neither trigger a gcd /castsequence reset=combat Healthstone,Dreamwalker's Healing Potion will work in Raid situations. in M+, you could opt to take out "reset=combat" so that you can still use healthstone then health potion on two different pulls; the reset command puts you back at the beginning of the sequence so it would otherwise leave health pot unusable unless you have already used healthstone within one pull.
All the years playing WoW, this is the BEST explanation of Macros! Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge!

after 21 years of wow, this video is the best explanation of macros I ever saw. Thank you Quazii
As an old player from vanilla you just brought me back in WOW in 30 minutes. Thanx Quazii.👍
Never really got how macros work. After watching many tutorials only your video made it crystal clear. Cheers quazii
What an absolute legend u are . I dont remember anyone else who added this much to the community. Thanks for being too good🎉

This is the most amazing video on macros i have ever seen, we must protect this man at all costs.
Me wishing I had a Quazii masterclass for every subject in school… and life. ^_^ Thanks for all your hard work!
Always an OG with teaching. Learned so much and this will help me so much especially with the button bloat on my brewmaster. You’re the man Quazzi
Absolutely fantastic guide. I have written and used macros for years and I still found this helpful.
I honestly can't say thank you enough for this video. I've never understood macros very well and the written guides can be kind of hard to understand in a lot of cases.

This is the best macro tutorial I have ever seen. Great Job!
Mate, this was a lifesaver- I knew a few of these, and added some new ones for my hunter and holy priest
Thanks Quazi. Best macro tutorial I've come across ever.
Glad I could unknowingly assist with the video. 😅 Sorry for bouncing around so much, didn’t realize you were recording.
don't forget /castsequence
I use it mainly at the start of a bossfight if i play a class that uses a fixed opening rotation
Very sneaky with the Mighty Bash misspelled macro. I caught it and was so surprised when it worked in the video. Nice edit - lol! ;)
One of, if not the best WoW channel out there. Thanks for making these videos.

That is indeed the only macro video I needed. Tysm for the detailed explanation!😄
This, like all of your other videos, is so helpful as a newer player. Appreciate all the effort you put into your videos ❤
Fantastic video. Was really hoping for some castsequence examples.
I could listen to you all day. Amazing guide. I’ll share with my guild as well
Thanks big dog, your doing content that is unique and quality. keep going keep improving your craft.

Quazii is a flipping GOAT
You're the hero I never knew I needed. Thank you for the detail.
Quazzi you are a machine and a fantastic teacher. Nice job man.
castsequence is not mentioned, its very handy for applying dots or setting well sequences with resets conditions like time or combat ended etc
Boss, amazing guide. That explains so much - thank you!
Incredible video, thank you SO much for the thorough and informative explanations. I appreciate it man!
I've been watching all your vids!!! They've helped me so much as a returning/ technology challenged individual! But I can't find how you do that with your mouse pointer? I'm sure i must have missed it but I definitely need something cuz I'm always losing my pointer lol
I finally found someone that explained the macro system. Thank you very much. I will be watching it again soon.
Thank you for doing such a video, even though I knew basically everything you covered, it was enjoyable to listen to your thorough explanation. And so I will share the favorite macro for warlock that I made to use the command demon action, heal the pet, summon or re-summon with Fel Domination on a single button for Demonology:
```/use [pet,mod:alt]Health Funnel;[@focus,exists,mod:ctrl,pet][pet]Command Demon
/stopmacro [@pet,nodead,pet]
/use [combat]Fel Domination
/use [mod:alt]Summon Sayaad;[mod:shift]Summon Voidwalker;[mod:ctrl]Summon Imp;Summon Felguard```
and for the two other specs:
```/use [pet,mod:alt]Health Funnel;[@focus,exists,mod:ctrl,pet][pet]Command Demon
/stopmacro [@pet,nodead,pet]
/use [combat]Fel Domination
/use [mod:ctrl]Summon Felhunter;[mod:alt]Summon Voidwalker;[mod:shift]Summon Imp;Summon Sayaad```
Also I must say that [@focus, exists] is the same thing as [target=focus, exists] but it's shorter, and while you must use spell names to cast them in your macros, you can use their ID with the know: conditional
you forgot the /castsequence part. Would love to hear your tips and tricks for that aswell
I just found your channel, didt know it exist...^^ theres really helpful stuff in your videos thanks alot, you really deserve the sub
Thanks man....its really the only guide you need...other "Guids" are crap and only clickbait if you ask me...

Cancelaura is also great for Holy Priests, to cancel spirit of redemption if you are going to be battle ressed or to speed up a wipe
great video. thank you for your hard work compiling this. even if you think you know most of this its an amazing refresher
Quazi making WoW great again, thank you. Love you videos
Awsome vid as always! Can you cover castsequence as well?
Thank you legend, another banging video to help us mere mortals out 👍🏻👍🏻💪🏼💪🏼
Your content is amazing! Thank you for the effort you put into these videos! Much love

Wowhead should pay you to have your tutorials on their website. No, seriously.
Awesome, but what Demon hunter sigils? Can we use one button macro to use multiple sigils at once?
Awesome as always

I want a lighting mouse cursor!
I know that it's technically not too efficient, but I am glad that I both @mouseovered and targeted this video.
I don't want to be bothersome but would you do a macro guide for FFXIV as well? Thank you
@Quazii How do you put two healing spells in a macro as an excample unleash life and chain heal?
