This video will walk you through the detailed process for installing Brainiac MK1 plastics into your FRS/BRZ/86. This is an updated version of our previous video where we now have the details of the climate control and MK1 Electronics installation.

Compared to a dedicated head unit with a screen, I suspect the sound coming from a headphone jack using the audio capability of a tablet would be pretty terrible. I'm a little confused why I would install something which would potentially tank the sound in the car, and not have the capacity (at the time of publishing the video) to incorporate features like rear camera, which basically any head unit with a screen will accommodate. What functionality would I be getting to make this modification desirable over a good head unit? Not really clear to me. All that aside, I love how owners have the choice nonetheless to customise their system

I recall in the last video you added the RCA jack to the system for simplicity, but would it be possible to have audio routed via the USB, or will the current set up be sufficient for later audio upgrades?
Technically it would be possible to have a USB sound card that is compatible with Android and have it's RCA routed to the amplifier input

@@SevalleLXI A common question. We don't have reverse camera working out of the box. It is possible to do with third party software and a USB video card. Here are a bunch of common questions and answers workshoptwelve.com/faq/
Do you guys have a time frame of when you think the manual controls one will be done? When it's done I'll be buying this kit and one with the manual setup for my wife and I.
We are working on a generic floating screen that should work for the manual control cars. It is in its 3D modeling phase right now. I don't have a timeline yet
could you theoretically do this with any tablet, like an ipad, or does it have to be that specific one?
It has to be the specified one for the kit
I just bought my BRZ in September of 2020 and have been looking into interior mods. Does this support a backup camera?
We don't have backup camera support yet

I have a 2013 BRZ. Does this fit in and work without me having to go to a wiring specialist?
From a wiring perspective you simply need to unplug your stereo and climate clips and plug them into our electronics 👍

Oh wow that's so cool. But what about the reverse camera (assuming there is one) would you still able to have the back camera on, on the Tablet/screen?
At the moment we don't have built in backup camera support. Some have made camera input work with an EasyCap USB dongle
Just looking into purchasing a 2015 FRS, it does have the triple knobs and no push button start. I am however wanting to upgrade the dash to this type of panel with the Push button start, is it a matter of getting a different harness? or can i get this kit and basically plug and play?

Changing to auto climate control is really tricky. It involves adding in Serbia, temp sensors and all sorts of other things. I've only seen one successful swap but it was not fully functional

Does this work for 2017 brz and does this have Apple car play ?
If you have a 2017 version that has a single top dash piece or the newer design trim above the glove box then you will need to purchase an older OEM trim piece that goes above the dash. Are you guys going to make the plastic pieces for other Samsung Galaxy tablets or is it just for the S2?
Right now the S2 is the only tablet on the market that will physically fit in the space available in the dashboard. We are also looking at updates for the S3 which is just a bit thicker.

We only support Android with our software. IPads don't allow for accessories. We currently only support the dual zone electronic equipped models at the moment

@@Supremo_wv they basically said if you buy the older part fitting for like a 2013 monogram or brz premium, install the trim, and then install their brainiac stuff all of your controls (with steering controls being routed through some sort of android relay they said) it works. The only thing is that the relay is separate and not sold by them.

Can you do a custom startup screen when you turn the car on?
We usually just suggest configuring the tablet to go into sleep mode when the car turns off and then come directly back to life when the car starts.
Will this work for the Toyota 86 automatic?
Automatic or Manual transmission don't affect the kit. It's designed for a LHD vehicle and a 2 piece top dash. Some versions of the vehicle have a solid top piece in the dash so purchasing an OEM trim for above the glove box might be necessary

We have been working on more of a universal floating 10.1" screen but currently don't have plans for a custom kit for your vehicle

Not yet... We are however working on a universal fit kit for a 10.1" tablet that would work for the manual climate control 86 👍

Unfortunately no. It is for LHD only
Hi shop, is this works with 2013 Scion FRS? No dual climate control, no start button. I mean its not gonna work or it still work but not fully functional. If it does, what is not supported?
For those with manual climate control our plastics will fit, but you will lose your climate control capability in order to make room for the screen.

No, it will only work with a vehicle that has dual zone automatic climate control.

No As iPads do not have OTG support.

While it does look cleaner than stock, I don't know a single functioning human who would deliberately pay to delete physical buttons and dials for a touchscreen that you use to control EVERYTHING... All this does is make driving more distracting having to look at the screen to do anything when you could just feel for the controls instead.
