I love that Dana dropped Corporal Kirshner into this. Last month I was at my local tiny comic-con, and there was a vendor there selling the old LJN rubber WWF figures. I was looking at them for a while, and in that time several different middle aged dudes wandered over and talked to me about 80s WWF. None of them remembered Corporal Kirshner. Not one of them! I was a fan, and I had that figure. I was sad that nobody remembered him. Thanks Dana. Rambo is interesting in this context. The character was invented in a book, as a criticism of US policy, and the treatment of returning GIs. Then he was repackaged into a cartoon as a patriotic force of freedom. It's kind of like the song "Born in the USA" , which was certainly not received the way it was intended.
How did they not remember him? Savages. That is a great point about Rambo. How he ended up a cartoon is beyond me. But we have seen that a lot during that time period.
