      Hi,
      I want to set-up karaoke using UA-cam as the source of my lyrics and music. I bought BEHRINGER XENYX X1204USB and J-Tech Digital Optical SPDIF Toslink / Coaxial Digital to Analog Audio Decoder Converter with PCM , 5.1 Dolby Digital & DTS. I also have an Onkyo receiver HT-R593 and a wireless microphone (GTD Audio G-380H VHF Wireless Microphone System with 4 Hand held mics). My problem now is how to connect the mixer to the receiver. What cables /connectors I need to use. I don’t have any knowledge about audio/video technology. I only watch UA-cam. Please help. Thank You--- Heraldo

      Steven Richards make sure the alt3-4 buttons are pressed in properly. Line in should be game pc only, mic in should be just mic via usb. The routing is usually controlled by the alt3-4 channels.

    Also, a great use for the AUX 1 PRE jack is to feed a subwoofer. You can dial in just as much as you need to the subwoofer, using the RED AUX knob, without it affecting your main mix/fader positions.

    I've got a similar setup with the same mixer, I send my gaming PC sound via alt channel (alt output in the back) to my streaming PC and I've tried connecting a cable in the AUX send to my gaming PC in order to transfer the MIC XLR input (main mix wich goes via USB to the streaming PC) to the gaming PC. My problem is the sound also pops up in the alt channel on the streaming PC... some help would be greatly appreciated.

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  8 років тому

      if only connector to stream pc other than usb is aux send line, then turn the red knob on your mic line all the way to the left or "0"

    • @NimorTV
      @NimorTV 8 років тому

      To be more specific, I'm mixing both gaming and streaming PC to the mixer and outputing the two as alt channels via input in the streaming PC so I have the two PCs going in OBS on one channel, and the mic on a separate channel via USB, turning the red nob to 0 just mutes AUX1 for the gaming PC

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  8 років тому

      Only mute the red knob on the mic channel, not the red knob for aux send near the microphone knob

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  8 років тому

      Also there is no need to run your stream pc back into your stream pc. Your obs should just pick up the stream pc desktop audio as a default device. If you run your game pc and stream pc into alt 3-4 with game pc aux send up to stream pc, then mic channel to main line with it on fx out to game pc

    • @NimorTV
      @NimorTV 8 років тому

      The ideea of running stream pc through the mixer and back again is to be able to change the volume on the fly considering I run music from my streaming pc. Turning the knob to 0 just mutes it, I can hear only statick if I try recording something on gaming PC.

      I have to comment. I have a Behringer Xenyx 1832USB that I use for live music. Great mixer-BUT- 3 out of the 6 XLR inputs have developed heavy static. Behringer's customer service is a joke! So if it works it's great- BUT, if problems develop- good luck in getting it fixed.

    Hi Ernst,
    Thanks for sharing your video. I was wondering if I send signal audio from PC via USB to the mixer, is this signal assigned to a channel to manage EQ, FX, balance and volume or is it only mixed into MAIN MIX by pushing down 2-TR/USB TO MAIN?
    Thanks!

    Fantastic, I've watched a few viz on this modem and nobody mentioned anything about the alt 3/4 (cue) BUT unless I had a micro nap, you did not explain the SOLO button?

    I brought the 1204 FX without the usb interface. Does a DAW (Ableton) see more than 2 channels coming in on the USB output of the mixer or do you need to feed from Aux, Alt3-4 back panel?

  • @PurpScurpington
    @PurpScurpington 4 роки тому

    Thanks for this! So you send your mic and instrument to your PC via USB, then your PCs to Alt3-4 and mix them back into your streaming PC via that PC's mic in jack I assume? And then combine mic (USB main mix) and PCs (3.5mm alt mix) into one track via OBS? I've got one of these and have ended up doing the same, although I feel kinda dumb still ultimately mixing in OBS because I mean... it's a mixer lol. But hey, at least I'm not alone.
    Three questions:
    (1) Do you know of any way to get FX from the internal processor on aux send 2? No matter what I do if I use aux sends I can't get FX on the mic. Although using a just-mics mix solves that problem for me basically.
    When I switch my mic from the USB main mix to 3.5mm alt mix, when I record my voice into audacity to test, they sound mostly the same but the waveforms look very different, even though I keep myself the same distance from mic and touch no settings. Any idea why?
    (3) There's no way then to isolate just game audio, e.g. if I wanted to record alongside stream and re-dub with new audio later, yeah?

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  4 роки тому

      So a couple comments, then I'll attempt to answer your questions. I use this setup to send ONLY my mic to the stream PC (I run dual PCs). The Aux send 1, sends ONLY my mic, to my GAME PC. My ALT3-4 only ever goes to my headphones, no other route. The GAME PC sends directly to the STREAM PC through line out/in connection (3.5mm). This means I have 3 sources in OBS - USB mic, Line in game pc, and "desktop audio." - For the game PC I use the line in as my mic, and default audio (speakers) out as the output. Hope that clarifies the setup because there are no loops you're hinting at.
      1. The orange knobs send FX via Aux Send 2 to whatever 3.5mm or 6.3mm source.
      2. Main and Alt mixes have different interfaces (USB versus analog) you simply may have some loss or added gain between the two - keep in mind the alt3-4 faders are separate from the main faders (USB will offer a cleaner signal usually because below a certain level there is no gain since its digital)
      3. There are many ways to isolate game audio. If you're running dual PCs just do it how I did (game pc to stream pc direct line out/line in), if you're using a single pc you could run the game audio into the mixer, send it alt 3-4 into wherever you want it to go (back to line in?) depends on what you want to isolate in that ALT3-4 mix.

    I have this mixer and this is by far the absolute BEST explanation of how it works. Thank you so much! Something weird I'm noticing, which is perhaps something I'm doing wrong, I have an AT2020 XLR on line 1. When I listen to it on my headphones, I can hear the ambient sound very loudly, which makes me think the recording is going to sound terrible, however, when I record on my PC using Audacity or any other software, I can basically hear my voice very clearly with almost no ambient noise. So basically my question is, why is the preview on the headphones so loud as opposed to the playback? The mixer is connected via USB. I also noticed that if I connect my headphones to the Control Room outputs, the sound is much more like how it plays back after recording.

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  4 роки тому

      its just the raw signal is all, its the ambient noise of the voltage on the mic line. Take that with any sort of a gain filter or lets say reduction in windows input volume, or even differences in impedance and you get that background noise to go away.

    • @JoeyTeckno
      @JoeyTeckno 4 роки тому

      Ernst Blofield thanks! I’m happy with how the recordings end up, it’s just annoying to not be able to monitor exactly what is being recorded. I’m just glad the noise is in the monitoring and not in the recording 😆

    I'm looking to invest into a mixer for my streams on twitch. I stream PS4 as well as PC games. I use an elgato HD 60 and Astro a40s mixamp as well as a dedicated streaming PC to stream whether it's console or PC gaming. Currently I get white noise and some feedback when I stream. I want to get this mixer but I'm not sure how to set it up. I'm a noob with all of this and really need a suggested layout dumbed down. Any suggestions?
    Also Is there a way I can set up my mixer with PS4 and PC audio captured? So it makes it easier to switch between them?
    Also What sound card do you recommend?

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  7 років тому

      Your setup is a bit more complicated. I have a video on how to setup dual PCs using this same mixer as well. The difference between my video and your setup is I would probably use an HDMI switch to alter back and forth between the video source (PC hdmi and PS4 hdmi) before the cap card.
      In terms of audio that is where it gets a little trickier. You'll need to get the PS4 to send the audio out via the optical, into the mixamp, into the mixer itself, OR you can have the cable send it out via the controller to the mixer. You could also pickup a small USB audio card that will likely work with PS4 that allows it to come out the primary USB ports on the PS4. The mixer itself can do all the audio no problem, its really just how you want to connect it to the stream PC. You could also just send it direct via the HDMI which may be the easiest (but might have an issue in OBS when you switch back to PC - you'll have to disable the sound on the cap card for PC streaming).
      In terms of sound card I just recommend any audio that can produce at least 24 bit 192kbps audio quality, anything lower than that can have some noticeable quality loss.

    Excellent info. Thanks! Got none of this in the manual. Would be great if you could go into the effects more in depth. Also, there are buttons that cancel out the effects and mains, why? Took some trial and error to sort it out. This is a USB Zoom concert mixer for me and so far it's sounds great although it can be tough to get the instrument mic at a good volume without using all gain. I am a solo acoustic guitarist. Thanks again - very helpful.

    Very helpful video, after searching on the internet for a mixer that would fit my needs I came to this video, however there are still a couple of questions if you don't mind.
    My set up consists of a pair of studio monitors, a microphone and headphones which I have all hooked up to my pc.
    My main concern is that it doesn't look like this mixer has an USB audio input to which I can hook up to an output on my monitors and headphones. So basically a USB connection that transfers audio

    hi thanks for the video! Quick question.. how do you set it up to send input from your computer say UA-cam..coming in via usb and get it out through the alt 3/4? can this be done without connecting your computer to your input channels ? just using the USB cable? Alternatively, say you have your phone hooked up to the Tape in can you send/route that input out of the mixer somehow? to the 3/4 or control room? thanks!

    Hey Ernst , I use a UX2 Interface from Line6 and I have a question for you. Do you think I can send the audio from my gaming pc to my streaming pc? It kinda works.... because I'm splitting the audio that goes to my headphones and I'm sending that audio to my streaming pc but when i connect my headphones and my 1/4 cable (that goes to my streaming pc) into the splitter you can hear a static hiss but only from the stream side. And if you think i cant make it work whats a good mixer for me to start off, Thx!

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  8 років тому

      You theoretically can do it this way, you do just typically need splitters etc. If you have hissing its likely just audio that needs to be grounded. If you pickup either a humbox (Behringer HD400) or Pyle Ground Loop isolator it'll likely fix it.

    • @evanoot3990
      @evanoot3990 8 років тому

      Ernst Blofield Thanks for the help, I'm looking to get the Behringer HD400 ,So i have a question for you, Should I use a normal 1/4 Inch cable and connect it to the Input 1 and then split the output into my headphones and Streaming pc? Or should I get a Male to Male 1/4 Inch Splitter that will split the audio from my Interface into Input 1 and 2 and then use output 1 for headphones and output 2 for streaming pc?

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  8 років тому

      each buzz box (HD400) only has two mono inputs and outputs, so its 1 stereo (1 left, 1 right). So you would use a stereo to dual mono cable for both inputs then a dual mono to stereo out...so however many inputs you need each need a humbox, and if you wnat to split it you should do it prior to two hum boxes.

    Quick question: What does Line IN 7/8 really do? Split the Left and Right into separate sources? Because when I use my 1/4 Inch RCA to 3.5mm, I only get the right sound to work fine. How do I get the left side of my monitor speakers to pick up sound??? I'm not here for streaming I'm here for audio playback.
    The Behringer mixer I have is a QZ1204USB, and the manuals still doesn't explain to me what LINE IN 7/8 does. I can get LINE IN 5/6 to work fine, but LINE IN 7/8 I don't know how that's done.

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  4 роки тому

      7/8 has two mono lines into one fader basically, offering it as a "stereo" input. Chances are you potentially have a wrong adapter. The inputs are mono, remember that.

    Great Video :) We are setting up a Dual PC twitch / obs setup and bought this mixer and was surprised how little instruction it came with or offered online. Your other video was great as well but left me with one question. In this video you are using the USB out for the Mic input on the Gaming PC an the first video you were using aux send 2 or the fx channel for the mic out. Is there a benefit to using the USB out over the Aux send 2 ?? Thanks again for posting. This will solve the riddle we were having of no mic audio and hearing himself talk in the headphones.

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  5 років тому

      In this video I do aux send 1 as mic, USB to stream PC. Aux send 2 was an FX out, so it had an echo and I hated it.

    • @matthenkel5614

      @@SDGolfGuy Thanks we got it working but have the game pc audio out split on a y-adapter to the stream PC and input 5/6 like some other setups. To me this wouldn't be optimal as you are bypassing the mixer for that part. I did have one more question if you have time. In reading the manual it says the USB out is the same as the main mix out on the back if you used XLR outputs. So in theory couldn't you have input 1 be the mic on XLR , Input 5/6 be the game pc stereo input and 6/7 the stream pc stereo input. Then have it all go back to the stream PC via the USB out as main mix. This would eliminate the aux 1 send from being needed. Thanks again its been a crash course in mixers for the past 2 weeks. Also any thoughts on the Makie 8fx mixer over the x1024USB ??

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  5 років тому

      @@matthenkel5614 Yes, you can have this. This is how you'd set it up if you wanted to control the stream volumes via the mixer as well. The trade off is that you don't get to hear game/stream PC at different volumes than what the stream hears it at, from a main mix perspective, which is why I use the splitter. At the same time you'll probably have to use the solo button as your sources if you wanted to not hear your voice in your headphones when setting itup that way.

I just bought on amazon the thing with the 2 thick aux into the small 3.5mm cables cause I’ve heard that I needed that. What all cables am I going to need for a PC/Laptop setup

      Ernst Blofield I’m not sure if the mixer I bought is going to work for what I’m trying to do... this is the exact product I bought “Behringer XENYX 1002-10 Channel Audio Mixer and Accessory Bundle w/ 5X Cables + Fibertique Cloth”
      I’m looking to do a dual stream setup and I want the audio routed from my gaming PC and my laptop going in to 1 mixer so they share the same audio if that makes sense. What cables will I need for this? And will this mixer even work?

    Great video! Question: Do I need a mono or stereo 1/4 inch for the headphones jack? I currently have a stereo 1/4 inch to 3.5mm STEREO and the audio is really messed up coming to my headset. Pretty obvious to try a mono but just asking in case you know something I don't know so I do not waste my time.

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  7 років тому

      Stereo for headphones. if its messed up there is a likelihood one of the lines coming in is stereo, when it should be mono.

      Ernst Blofield ok its definitely a mono input. when i pull the headphone jack out a little bit i finally get audio but in really bad quality.

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  7 років тому

      Yeah its all in the source and how the cable is setup. If you're using a stereo to mono adapter sometimes the adapter itself is not designed properly. to duplicate both stereo lines into a mono signal. The reverse is true about mono to stereo duplication. My suggestion would be to ensure that whatever input it is is coming from a stereo to mono Y split cable versus stereo to mono adapter...(often this is the case)

    • @TylorTurner
      @TylorTurner 7 років тому

      Ernst Blofield its just really confusing because the audio coming from my aux to y splitter 1/4 adapter sounds bad and so does my mic audio. Then i listen to the output sound through the usb output red and white and it sounds clear as day!! even if just my xlr shure sm7b is plugged in it sounds terrible through the headphones. I have 2 stereo 1/4 to aux adapters and neither work.

      It depends where in the input chain the FX are. If you run guitars/mic effects before the mixer input, it'll include the effects. If you send the mixer raw to an effects chain it'll just be raw signal.

    Hi Eric, I've been following your guide on dual pc streaming, to which is an awesome guide by the way, and I've been having an issue. Sound going to the stream pc sounds like it's in an auditorium or cave.
    I purchased everything you had listed in your updated diagram including the Behringer x1204usb. Do you have any thoughts? I don't have any of the mics set to "listen to" and I did use the software video to make sure everything was set up, the only problem with that is there isn't a line in option for Mic/Auxiliary Audio Device 2 in OBS.
    Thanks in advance and sorry to bother you.

    • @baskinbobbins2718
      @baskinbobbins2718 6 років тому +1

      OK, never mind on the line in issue. I had it plugged into the mic in on accident. So now if I just use mic/aux 2 in obs, the sound is fine. The desktop audio in OBS works fine as well. However, Mic/aux is the one with the auditorium sound, which is the microphone usb audio codec.

    • @baskinbobbins2718
      @baskinbobbins2718 6 років тому +1

      The mic/aux is also picking up everything from the gaming pc as well. Alt 3/4 button is pressed.

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  6 років тому +2

      It sounds like the red knobs aren't turned down properly, or the orange knobs. If you're hearing a cave like sound it seems like there is some sent audio from aux send 2? did you perhaps plug in aux send 2 instead of aux send 1 to the wrong PC? If not, check the "RECORDING" devices on stream PC and make sure in the "LISTEN" tab the "LISTEN TO THIS DEVICE" is unchecked.

    • @baskinbobbins2718
      @baskinbobbins2718 6 років тому +1

      It seems I didn't have the red/orange knobs turned down properly. I had them the way they were in the diagram and now I have them positioned as this video does which fixed the problem with gaming PC sound going to stream PC via microphone usb audio codec. So that's great! Now the only problem is the cave sound coming from the mic.
      I have the gaming PC connected to aux send 1 and there is nothing in aux send 2. "Listen to this device" is not checked on either PC. The microphone works fine when used on the gaming PC.

    • @baskinbobbins2718

    Hi, i have another question. I did a setup with dual pc also and using Q1002usb mixer. I have a problem about sounds that i hear when im playing. I plugged my headphone (Hyperx) to mixer and i dont get sounds good. For example in games i cant hear sounds well (footsteps, shootings) and it affacts my game. I tried with my other headphones and with that one sound quality is good but directions of the sounds are wrong. Do you have any idea what cause this? I plugged mic with stereo adapter, should i use mono adapter?

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  7 років тому

      Well, its hard to say what is causing it. If there are clear differences between two headphones then its definitely headphone related. If both headphones have issues with picking up appropriate audio then its likely how the audio is being fed into the mixer. If the line into the mixer is clear, then so should your headphones. If they're not then it might ahve to do with the adapter. Make sure there is a good grounded adapter and that if you have a slide on adapter that the plug is twisted and connected properly on the 3.5mm connection.

    Very nice video! I wonder if the built in FX will be send over AUX1? So when u are using a builtin FX on your MIC which goes into the main mix u can send the MIC channel with the red knob to aux1 but will it also have the FX applied to it? So when u use the AUX out only for the MIC so that u can use it for discord etc (so it wont have the whole mix as content) can u still use FX on it

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  7 років тому

      Well, I think people miss the nature of what mixers really do and how they work. Often times people who buy entry level mixers like this don't have a good clue how to run them and so they set them up improperly. On top of that they're usually hooking them up to PC's if they're buying USB versions and generally don't run things like audio technicians do. The X1204 has the better pre-amps than the Q series, so no real need for the hate really, other than this mixer is $179, and it does what I need it to do.

    Hey Everyone! i've just got all my cable setup and ready to start.I do not like using OBS Studio i do not find it stable for release but I will try. What I wanted to ask is that I would like to hear more of my game volume. I play counterstrike and I need to hear more bass from it but do not want to pass that to my stream PC. I've purchased all the cable and "noise" filters to match. everything in total including a new Microphone was just under $340 now did purchase the 1204USB Premium vs the standard I don't know why but I did. I will let you all know how it goes. I will do a video and follow up making sure to give credit to Mr. Blofield.
    With so many people here doing dual PC setups I wanted to ask a follow up question. One of the nice things in my current PC setup is I was able to take audio from my bot deepbot where I play music and direct that to the stream vs me having to hear it. So I could play CSGo and my viewers could hear me, the game and the music. All the while I was only hearing the game. Anyone have recommendations on that? I figured if ANYONE would it would be the 33 smart people that liked this youtube video.
    Thank you,

    Can you use the Alt 1/4 inch jacks in the back to run a Yamaha DXR10 powered floor monitor speaker? Using the Alt 3 & 4 faders as a separate volume to control the monitor speaker volume. Some mixers have hiss sound through speakers when faders/gain are up and no music is playing. Are newer Behringer mixers quality with low hiss pre-amps? QX series a better series with higher quality pre-amps?

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  7 років тому

      Hey Jon, it seems you can. I have that setup right now with some JBL studio monitors via 1/4" ALT jacks. I know the hiss you're talking about and it seems to come with the gain knob on the monitors. If I turn the gain up to say 70% on the monitors I have hiss even with no audio, but as I turn it down to say 50% it goes away. Then again all of this setup is through PC's which traditionally have much higher noise... in terms of QX I don't know I haven't had experience with that.

      Quick update, so switching them worked, but my OCD says, this looks odd. But I have another question: I have the 5/6 (gaming pc) 7/8 (streaming pc) on the ALT 3-4 Mix but for some reason I'm not able to control the sound for OBS on the mixer atm. the channels are muted for the UBS out (which is using my MIC only). How are you doing it on the mixer for OBS? This is the biggest Problem for me now, which is driving me crazy. I'm sure its a simple fix as how it was for the reversed sound. Thanks for helping me out tho, much appreciation.

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  7 років тому

      Actually you can't control OBS with the mixer. Not unless you put the 5/6 on the main line (USB out) and then use your headphone source as "main" but then you'll hear yourself speak too. If you want to control it via mixer then split the 5/6 audio into two using another splitter and put it into 2 and 3 and send those main out...but then you need to remove splitter at the game PC.

    • @EdwardLaser
      @EdwardLaser 7 років тому

      So what If I get another splitter, and sent 5/6 onto channel 3 and 4 would I be able to use my mixer to control the sound for OBS? And the same for 7/8 on the streaming PC?

    Thank you Ernst for this nice overview of X1204. Is it possible (in this particular model) to add mixer's internal effects to the audio signal that goes in from computer via USB - when mixer is used as an audio interface for playback? If so, could you shortly explain how to do that?

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  7 років тому

      There is a way to do it, you have to use an FX loop though, and it might be best to work that in via the user manual - but you use the orange FX knobs and the gray "main mix" or "alt3-4" buttons on the returns.

    • @PonuryBrakKultury
      @PonuryBrakKultury 7 років тому

      Thanks for answering so fast! I checked the manual online. I could not find anything about fx on USB audio.
      FX loop, you mean like feeding the main output into stereo channel (ex. line in 5/6) and then adding FX to it (orange knob) and sending it's signal to alt3-4, that would be "new" main output?

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  7 років тому

      You can send your signal say Line 5/6 out from AUX SEND 2 (which is the FX knob applied) and then into FX return, then press down the gray FX to Main Mix and it should send the knob to your main mix. Which means hypothetically you could either foot switch in between the SEND and RETURN or you can simply turn the SEND knob on the line up when you want to apply the FX...

    First of all thanks for your videos. You decribed very well your dual pc streaming setup and I plan to do the same with some minor changes.
    I have one question though. Can I plug my headset microphone jack 1/8 inch (Hyper X Cloud) in the 1/4 inch jack input (with a 1/8" to 1/4" jack adapter of course) instead of the XLR mic input you used in your diagram ?
    To illustrate that, you can imagine the cable #13 (in your diagram) is linked to the headset. I don't want to use an external microphone, I just want to use the built-in one on my headset. Can you help me to figure out how to get my voice on my gaming pc AND on my streaming PC with my headset (as you did with your setup AFAIK).
    Thanks a lot

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  7 років тому +1

      Yes. My only concern may be that the Cloud headset mic may have a significant gain on it already that may be accompanied by some white noise. You may run into this, you may not. If you do run into this it may be hard to get rid of the gain because most mics/instruments have lower noise floors than headset mics.

    • @YoH1901
      @YoH1901 7 років тому

      Ok dude thanks for the tip. If I get to much noise, I'll go for an external mic which is also a good alternative. It just takes so much space ! Last question : where did you get these cable labels cause it seems to be a good way to organize all these cables.

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  7 років тому +1

      You also can use a noise gate and see how that works out for you - The noise gate in OBS is pretty good. I don't have any cable labels, two of the HOSA cables come with a label on it. The instrument cables 1/4" mono lines come with their own rubber wrap.

    Hey Ernst, I'm having a really tough time with my Behringer Xenyx 502 (non USB version) mixer. I've been trouble shooting for a week now, and was hoping you might know the solution to my problem. My setup is I have 2 PCs : One gaming PC and one Streaming/encoding PC for twitch.tv.
    I bought this mixer to connect my gaming PC audio to my other Streaming PC. This mixer will allow my streaming PC to hear everything playing on my gaming PC.
    My problem is that once connected to the mixer, all i hear is loud static. It doesn't even show to be a connected device in the devices and printers section on either PCs. The program that i'm using to run my streaming is called OBS. (studio version). In the audio settings on OBS i have my Line IN as one of my aux audio devices, so that should pick up my gaming PC audio, but all that it is picking up is what sounds like static. I DONT have a static remover connected to the mixer because i thought that it would only be necessary for low amounts of static in the audio. I don't know if NOT having a static remover will make my audio completely distorted, or if the static remover is designed to help treat already comprehensible audio signals.
    My connections are as follows:
    Gaming PC Line out to LINE IN on the mixer. (RCA to 1/4" connection)
    LINE OUT on mixer to my Streaming PC LINE IN. (RCA to 1/4" connection)
    These are the correct connections for a dual PC setup, but the audio never gets through. I turned down my levels on my mixer, disabled all sound effects on my LINE IN settings under audio devices manager, but all i'm getting is static sound.
    *Is a Ground loop/Ground eliminator necessary to get any audio in my situation?
    *Is my behinger 502 faulty? The Power light is orange, but no levels are being shown (Green or yellow light indicators)
    *Are my devices not selected properly?
    *Do I need a dedicated sound card for this setup? (currently using motherboard sound interface)
    *On Amazon (place of my purchase) I have read reviews on the power supply being faulty. Would this contribute to my distorted signal?
    I'm a complete audio novice and would appreciate a reply. Please, I really want this to work for my streaming setup on Twitch.tv.
    Thank you!

      It sounds to me like somehow the gain or volume in on the microphone was adjusted, or perhaps the fader itself was accidentally pushed up. What I would recommend is using the "solo" button to monitor the mic in line and adjust the black gain knob on the line you have your mic in until your "Check" sound is just barely at the top of the Green LED that is labeled "0"

    Hi, great videos on mixers. I am looking to get myself a standalone streaming pc (Purely for streaming) however I am unsure of the type of specs I should be after. Most videos I have watched seem to get the best of everything but thats because they are talking about a gaming pc and streaming pc in one. Can you offer me any advise on perhaps what you are using in your streaming pc or could you even do a quick video on it. Your help would be gratefully appreciated

      Hey Graham - I think I will just do a video on this - I've had a lot of questions about this lately.

    First of all, THANK YOU for this video. I have a single PC setup, and, no matter what I do, I cannot seem to get sound out of the mixer into the PC. I can get sound FROM the PC to the mixer, but my mic (which is the only thing plugged into the mixer) just doesn't register anywhere via USB.
    What am I doing wrong?

      Not exactly sure, perhaps some of the necessary main knobs are wrong? Hit me up on twitter and send me a pic of your mixer setup. Also, what your software settings look like.

      If you are using a behringer USB mixer, make sure the red "USB to main mix" button above the phones/control room knob is pressed in. This sends all the main mix through the USB cable to the computer.

      This is only if you're using 2-track input in the RCA section FWIW

    Love the video. Explains tons. But I'm wondering why my LED (L-R) are not going up and down/ green to yellow when talking into the microphone. I have seen others using this mixer and their LEDs light up when talking. I noticed yours didn't either. Any clue?

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  7 років тому +1

      Depends on what output you're monitoring. In this setup I'm monitoring ALT 3-4 with my headphones so my LEDs don't go up. If I monitor the main line which is what the microphone line is on it'll go on. Or the "Solo" button for each channel will do this.

    • @spedled9520
      @spedled9520 7 років тому

      Cool man. So I was able to get it to move but only on the L-side. Don't both L-R LEDs light up? The PFL and Clip light is on and the Solo button is pressed in.

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  7 років тому

      Thats intended to be that way...if your mic LED isn't lit up - you're either not listening to that line or the mic gain isn't turned up. If its showing up on PFL on the left then its working as intended and you're just not listening to the line its on.

    So I had a question. I can not seem to get the sound from the streaming pc to go to the headphone unless i do it through the usb. When i do that though I cant control it, as well as can only get it to obs by bypassing the mixer. Any ideas whats going on?

    when it is connected to the computer how many tracks can you record at once? I have heard you only get 2 mono or 1 stereo?

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  5 років тому

      It depends on how you connect, I only get 1 stereo from USB.

    Is there any reason why I wouldn't hear any effects through the headphones while I am monitoring?

    • @SDGolfGuy
      @SDGolfGuy  4 роки тому

      Depends on your FX loop and whether they're captured in your listening device. If you're sending via main and listening to alt, you won't hear.

    the thing i'm trying to do is not exactly the same as you but maybe you can help. the reason i bought a mixer is to be able to input my MIC (audio technica AT2020), 1 echo dot (alexa) and 1 IPAD through discord. I also want to be able to hear myself(MIC) at the audio level i want in my earphones without affecting the output sound in discord. can you guide me to how i should plug and configure my things so i can do that ? also i have the 1204USB (not X) but i dont think that sould matter. right now everything works except that i can only hear my self too loud or not at all by turning to main mix redirection to my headphones on or off and if i put it to off i also loose the sound of my ipad and echo dot obviously. i'm really lost right now. oh and i tried using the ALT 3-4 wich was the reason why i bought this audio mixer in the first place but i only get sound from left ear (that might be my cable though).

    Very useful explanation. appreciate every button explained. I'm looking for support on the same mixer to be used for karaoke live streaming for Zoom sessions. Can you please explain it n another video?

      I would say it depends how you use it. One channel would be your mic, another could be your guitar. The USB goes into your PC and you just manage the volumes on the mixer.
