Hey man this a great video But I have a little question, if you are using the Ctrl outs and the alt 3-4 outs and also you have all your planning center, in essence you would have 4 parallel outputs? Like you have 3 mono sound sources all in that setup with the alt switch engaged and panning center you would have 4 outs that sound the same right?
Hey, I have my monitor speakers connected to the Control Room output and have headphones plugged in at the Phones output. Now, when I want to record something with the microphone (For music) I don't wanna hear the sound of the USB Input and microphone on the monitors, only the Headphones. Is there a way to mute ONLY the monitor output? Because the Volume Level knob controls both control room and phones output. Thanks in regard

Hi Good video- Could I ask you a question please? I have had this behringer mixer for some time and have speakers connected with xlr cables to the main output. I always thought the mute button on mic channels 1,2,3, 4 etc would mute the mic to the main mix. As I viewed your video it would appear that this mute button only mutes alt 3-4 for monitors and the like. I have wireless mics connected into channels 1 and 2 but without turning the volume slider down it appears I cant mute the microphones? Is there any way of doing this to this particular mixer or is this feature not available. I've bludgeoned my way through trying to work out this mixer and I think I have it sussed quite well now so here's my simplistic overview that may help you.....apologies if I'm trying to teach you how to suck eggs..... Think of the 3 pairs (6 connections) of outputs on the rear as relating to 3 different locations/rooms/speaker sets. Behringer have simply named them as 1. Main, 2. alt3/4 and 3. Control room. For the moment, and for simplicity's sake, think of each location as being completely separate from each other. In other words you could have one of three different sounds being played at each location at the same time. Eg mic to main, guitar to alt3/4 and cd (etc) backing track to Control room (via the use of the cd/tape input RCA sockets). The volumes for each of the above would be controlled by either the channel 1,2,3,4 faders/sliders (eg in regard to main and alt3/4 location/output) or the phones/control room knob in regard to the control room location/output. Now, what YOU refer to as the 'mute' button on channels 1,2,3,4 is actually a switch to send those channel outputs to EITHER the main OR alt3/4 locations (in essence you ARE muting the output to one location by redirecting it somewhere else - eg either from main to alt3/4 or vice versa). The clever bit is that even though all 3 locations can be thought of as being separate, both main and alt3/4 outputs can also be redirected to the Control room whilst still being output to their own location. This is undertaken by the use of the three switches in the 'SOURCE' section (namely cd/tape, main, alt3/4). Any combination of either 1,2 or all 3 switches being pressed will send those outputs to the control room as well. So, long story short, in regard to your situation where you have mics on channels 1 and 2 and speakers connected to main......the mic output WILL be going to main if the mute/alt3/4 buttons on ch1 and 2 are not depressed (ie both are up), if you have those buttons pressed (ie they are in) your mic outputs are being sent to alt3/4 - and if you have no speakers connected to alt3/4 you are, in essence, muting both mics. I hope that makes sense. 👍
Is this just a mixer or a mixer amplifier combo? I have powered active speakers hooked up to it but would I need a separate amp device if I wanted to play my turntable through this mixer? Thanks
Hi mate, can you tell me if this mixer can handle the audio for a bedroom radio show including 2 x microphones, 1 x DJ mixer which has XLR out (connected to two turntables). I want to record the entire mix to laptop via USB, but want only the audio from the DJ mixer going out to studio monitors... I feel the 1204 USB mixer can do this I'm just not sure exactly how!
Good question. I haven’t tried t see if the muted Alt 3/4 is included in the USB interface out for recording. I do not believe it is but not sure. I don’t have access to my mixer right now because I am out of town but might give it a try when I get back and report back.

How do you configure the mainboard controls if you wanted to use the Main output to the speakers? Or connect it to the home receiver Is it automatic or you have to press which buttons? Do ypu have a step by step video as to pressing which controls? The effects doesnt seem to work
The main output is simply controlled by the main volume and it is always on. No need to press or change anything. Just make sure the control 3/4 is not pressed on a channel because it will mute it to the main. As far as the effects, that would have to be a completely separate video since there are at least three controls for it.
Hi thanks for sharing knowledge! I have same mixer but it produces lot of noise when I increase fader and gain to max even without putting any jack in input channels. Does it happens with your mixer also???
Very little on mine. It is more noticeable when I use powered speakers instead of an amplifier. The noise could be from your amplifier/speakers or your cables.
Hi bud, on a job and bar owner needs extra speakers in different areas,. question I have connected jack plugs out of control room outputs....the other end has rca ends... These are input into a technics amp I have tried cd, VCR aux in But I can't send sound out of technics amp Am I doing it wrong amigo?
It sounds correct. Not sure why it would not work. The only thing I can think of is to make sure you depress the button on the mixer that sends the mix to the control room

B ) i would like to connect an active PA and 2 pairs of active Monitors all for the full live Mix...Here mp3 ( Stereo) plus guitar ( stereo amp Signal) plus eventually Keyboard ( stereo) and Singing ( Mono) ..is this feasible...( I may need a 12 or 16 Channel unit) thanks👍
If I understand it correctly, yes, it is feasible. You have 6 stereo channels (8 channels if you combine the last two mono) and you have a main output as well as a monitor out (control room output).
When you can run your main outs out to your main mix and use control room outs as a floor monitor channel for live situations what is the purpose of 3/4 outs ?
It depends on the user’s needs. You can use any combination you want or that works for your particular situation. Heck, you might even need your control room out for your control room monitors 🤷

I can't seem to find tutorials for the Xenyx Q1204USB, there are a number of control differences ( as well as not having any FX)

Hello guys, I'm having the same issue. USB captures all the sound and not getting muted with alt 3/4. Hopefully someone can give advice on this.

You can use any of the outputs to record to an external analog recording device

I can't get any audio on mine. Only from main mix which sucks. Alt doesnt work and control outs dont work.

This mixer does not have a sub out. Unless your sub has inputs for a line/analog signal, it will not work
