We shootout this season's top mountain sleds featuring 3-inch lug tracks! These sleds include the 2016 Polaris Pro RMK 163, 2016 Ski-Doo Summit X 163, 2016 Yamaha M-TX 162 and 2016 Arctic Cat M8000 162.
DUDE....WHEN YOUR SPENDING ALMOST 14 K ON A DAMN SLED...WHAT THE HELL IS ANOTHER 400$
It’s freaking 3000$
When u spend every penny on the sled u got no more
You had me until 18' of powder 😂
I have a feeling that my 146” might sink in that. 😂😂
Rocky. Mountain. KING!
This is one of the best comparisons on this channel. It's good that with this set up you can mention sleds from all manufacturers instead of just a cupple. Love mountain sleds so this video is even more apealing to me. Would love it if this season you could do a crossover shootout between the Switchback Assault, the Backcountry X, the Riot or Riot X and the Sidewinder XTX that would be amazing
As long as Polaris isn't a sponsor, I believe you. If it is a sponsor, you can't help but to be biased.
The new sleds are simply unreal when it comes to performance, power and the smooth ride. The sticker shock will go away once you are riding, climbing and jumping in the back country! Great on fuel also. I love my Polaris Pro RMK 163"......
I've ridin Polaris for 5 years and I've never had a problem with the engines and I just got the new 2017 pro and the sled is really well built. There all good sleds but I'll ride Polaris any day compared to the others.
I like how you complain on that the skidoo a-arms are to weak when the axys a-arms bent like they're made out of butter 😂
+HenkaBu Bent a-arm > bent bulkhead
do u know what ur talking about
The entire skidoo front end is butter... at room temp 🤣🤣🤣
BagpipekilR not in a g4
Ski doo doesn’t mind strong A arms because they know they’ll charge you 4,000$ when your cast aluminum bulkhead shears like a piece of white bread.
lmao... let the bigger dick contest begin.. enjoy the sleds they are all great i ride a 16 rmk pro love it last year i had a big nytro turbo and really enjoyed that too but the weight got to be to much for a long days riding. My bro in law has a summit x ive ridden it and it is an amazing sled also only one i havent tried is the Cat. Just enjoy the sleds they are all great machines thats what its all about... children..
Holy crap! Honestly you are right! I've ridden a couple different mountain sleds and honestly they're all really fun to ride! I think that's because almost all of us should agree that riding the steep and deep OR the trails is an absolute blast! Yes granted we're all biased in some way (my father raised me to hate Arctic Cat) BUT we can all agree that during the winter, riding sled (no matter what you are on) is the most fun you can have!
Jp Keller agree with both you guys. And ya no matter what you ride I e ridden everything from mountain machines to trail rockets and I have a blast anytime I'm on the snow
Gonna try to stir things up a bit here. I'm a Polaris guy, always have been. I've owned and/or ridden almost every motor Polaris offered. The Fuji's were as reliable as anything from the time, the 5, 6, and 700 Liberties were excellent, yes the 800s had their crank issues. Polaris's first cleanfires were a disaster, I know. The 700 (755) and 900 (866) were fun when they ran. I don't care who you are or what you think, the 600 Liberty (carbed or EFI) is the best 600 available. I can't and won't bash any other manufacturer's latest sleds, b/c they all make damn good ones. I did hate 90's and early 2000's Cats though. I love my AXYS 3", it's an incredible sled. I have yet to hear anything bad about the new 800 HO, that was new in 2015. And my 2011 800 Pro RMK is still on its original motor.
It’s the Yamaha for me! The power of a turbo viper is second to none! I love my hill climbs and cliff drops!haha
Just like some of the other comments here no sled is a bad sled anymore they all me great sled it's more Personal opinion than anything.
I've always loved how skidoos look.
In my opinion i think any snowmobile Polaris makes it will always look awesome
Kyle Shehorn and ride awesome
Kyle Shehorn dude have you send the switchbacks? They don’t even have a tunnel, they may ride well but they look like shit
I wouldn't say it's the best comparison for ski-doo. all the other brands have their top mountain sled in this review but the 174 is ski-doo's top mountain sled. They just didn't have anything with an equal track length to compare it with. Bottom line is it doesn't matter what you buy now a days they are all amazing and reliable machines.
I think that the yamaha sidewinder is a new contender and even possibly winner
Agreed. I have a skidoo renegade so not exactly a mountain sled, but I got a chance to drive a Sidewinder and I don't really see how anything could beat it
It’ll never win on this show that’s for damn sure, these guys won’t let em!
i wish you had lynx in north america so you could do a review of their Lynx Boondocker because i really like your reviews :D
@@mattsoncook2490 no
@@mattsoncook2490 different chassie, completely different boggie, different skies, different clutch calibration. Lynx was also first to shorten their chassies back in 2018.
Haha I'm a Polaris lover, even though I own a apex. Never thought I would get any other sled than Polaris but they are fun
I think you guys mean the Viper is the same basic sled as the Arctic Cat. Cat designed the chassis and leased the design to Yamaha in return Cat now uses the turbo 3 cylinder in this Viper.
Itsyfun to see how Polaris is always the winner! I wish they were more objective...
The Polaris sounds like an awesome sled, but I still don't trust them to get me home. I'll trade the lightweight for reliability and go with the Viper.
reliability with a yamaha? ouch. ive blown up 6 of them and parts are so damn expensive
+Elijah Nielsen if you've blown up 6 Yamaha sleds you've got issues yourself. I'm a Polaris guy for life but the Yamahas are proven to have longevity
Talking about that new Polaris sounds awesome but I think I'll stick with my 1999 Polaris super sport 550 , with MORE than 10000 miles :D
+Eclipse Gaming Impressive :) I do believe that Polaris holds the record for milage on a snowmobile, if you look away from the Yamaha 4-Stroke record of course.
+MarcusN heh heh I bet my old 550 will out last anything , I've also got an 89 340 sport that runs great.
Eclipse Gaming Awesome! :)
98 skidoo mxz 583?
I'm a ski-doo fan boy myself but great video anyway
I think your snowmobiles are
Fantastic boy!!!!!! 😀
I bet the Yamaha will still be tearing it up long after the others go boom!!!
True that
i want to see one of theese vids. next winter.. with the new skidoo 850 etec
Everyone here says that reliability should play a factor which is true... However considering all these sleds are brand new you cant... The viper over time will outlast any 2-stroke simply because the motor doesn't beat itself to death every time it runs, but id rather be able to smell my jacket at the end of the day and know how far I've gone. HAHAHA!! P.S. never Once had to tow any Polaris home and I've been around them all my life.
aj houck The 800 CTEC definitely wins the reliability crown in the two stroke department. I do agree though that in a perfect world you will always have next to no issues with the Yamaha engines, they just live for ever and need almost no maintenance.
William Stewart I agree that the 800 etec is tried and true but the polaris cleanfire was reworked just 2 years ago and It hasnt been unreliable like their 900 motor was back in 2008 so I guess we will have to see.
I would like to know best reliability out of the 4, I've got a 2008 Apex mtx and it seems there is no way to kill the motor.....
and the winner goes to.... the summit x 850 etec 2017. ;-)
Oh I'm sure Polaris has something in the bag for 2017. Even if the pro RMK remains the same, it is still a strong contender if you consider the power to weight ratio. The new summit is still 445lbs for the 154" even though it shed some weight.
+Dan Pitre I agree.... however skidoo has probably the most power engine which means that technically, it has the most power to weight ratio so far.
well, we'll see if polaris has something new for 2017.
if not, that doesn't mean that polaris doesn't have a good mountain sled. they do have a good sled but brp won the battle but not the war. :-)
+touringe Not sure you realize how power to weight works.
+Onyx Knight yes I do know how it works. Actually that's what brp said on the 22nd of Feb.
+touringe You do know that Polaris's new 800 motor produces the same amount of horsepower as BRP's new e-tec 850 right? (give or take) That being said, the ski-doo summit X 154" has to lug 40lbs extra over the RMK 155".
At the end of the day is that Polaris going to get me home? My Cat may not be as nimble but it brings me home every day.
+joeseph kad I have 2013 Rmk Assualt 800, 4500 kms and after three winters, not one breakdown, my cat friends on the other hand...
Thank you. I dnt trust the axis chassis lighter weight parts can break easier. I used to have a 340 jag and it went 7 mi on E. I now just got a 600 mountain cat and I can't wait for the snow!!
+Nolan Smagula my son is in the mountains all the time in BC the word on the proclimb 600 is that it is a solid performer. will go anywhere the 800s will go.
+joeseph kad thx good to know.
If your worried about getting home you should be riding a 4 stroke!
You made a great choice that's my favourite sled to 😍👌
But what one costs the less to maintain i dont need 3 topend kits by 20k
nice job polaris RMK all they way
Ya Polaris are the lightest sled but they also get the most snow and ice packed in them and after that is said and done they become heavier than the doo and cat.
You guys should test the 2016 crossover sleds
i haven't met a person yet that can push their sled to its limits so one being a little bit better or worse doesn't matter that much.
i love the pro rmk hands down funnest sled to ride
if you gay!!
Lol the funnest mountain sled I’ve ever ridden is my mxz, does the rmk’s weight make the parts weaker? They talked about the summit’s weak a arms or whatever but it seems like the Polaris would have a weekend front
Jasonkx500 ride a skidoo 850 makes rmk feel like ass
im just curious why you never see guys in videos go huge on a polaris? i mean ive seen guys jump them but never seen a guy send it?
they seem to play in the trees nice.
I have 5 seasons on my pro 800 now, no problems at all. Motor is still factory original and runs great.
That's surprising for a junk Polaris
time to update this shootout with the alpha one
lusurama5080 and the polaris khaos
and the skidoo free ride
Yes, it would destroy everything. Best mountain sled.
Canadian15Gaming Doo exists :)
Carter Spratlin i know, I own a skidoo but I wouldn't hesitate for a second to trade it for an alpha one. It's not about the brand even because I don't really love the arctic cats. I've heard rumours that Yamaha is putting the alpha one rail on a sled next season so i would get that if it existed now lol
And the winner is ????
The sled that brings you home !!!!
yea Polaris for the win
I have ridden ski doo, Polaris and articles cat and the best all around sled is the Polaris even though I have always favored ski doo. all though my first sled was the best 1972 elan 250. with that being said I have now changed over to snowbike, down on horsepower but lot of fun.
As long as they can fix the paddles Falling Off I'd be down to get one. My dads 2017 Summit X 850 163" with a few years & 2000KM on the 3" paddles and they're falling off if we trail ride over 50
I think they are right that the pro truly is the best performer, but considering all the facts like reability and garantee, i prefer to go for a summit...Even if I know that it won't hold a sidehill like the pro does. Every sleds have their good and bad.
SledCrewQc a t3 deff holds a sidehill with ease.
Do a new review with the Alpha hardcore, Riot 850 and Freeride 850. That ctec2 is dynoing some insane numbers out of the box... AC might make aggressive hp higher in the rev range but cat makes their machines to rip for the guys that like to ride fast wide fuc*ing open. Send it! And maybe compare a speedweeks charged alpha to the turbo yamaha??? Both dealer options... 🤘
Yup Americans love their polaris` Im not surprised they picked the pro. For me it boils down to reliability and build quality. I have owned Polaris and will never again, I have ridden in the mountains with some pros and I was never impressed with the sled. I will stick with my Skud. In my opinion the best one out there.
akalima2shaw
they are Canadian genius.
That's why they call it "The King"
+Streeters Garage your killing me man your killing me
+Nick 123 Ha!
uhhhhhhhhh
Bro let's goooo
interesting, just heard the same view/ opinion from a mountain rider friend of mine, polaris is a yes for weight , power and handling
Yamaha will always run even at 14k miles that I have on my nytro
Summit 600 curently at 27k miles but was rebuilt at around 7-8k
Summit for the win.
Yeah-maha?
that Yamaha would be the most reliable and most powerful at any elevation and I'm kind of a heavy and build guy anyway, so what is a little extra weight despite the price I think it is worth it
Couldn’t agree more! The weight is totally worth the durability and the power!
Is the extra wieght worth it on the yamaha, yes it is.
Exactly! 4 stroke power is like no other! Viper is the clear winner for me that’s for sure!
@@billb8862 I was thinking because of the turbo lol
one thing you guys will never be able to test is the reliability. AXYS power train hasn't proven jts self yet so I wouldn't say it's the best option. unlike the Polaris the other are all reliable. it won't be until next year truely we will find out if it is reliable with more time for everyone to experience it.
What do you think of axys now?
Pro all day and skidoo is a close second
it's sad when people sell out. they left out huge facts about the polars. 1. they have overheating problems. 2. being lightweight comes with a cost, they become weak and ridgid and the frames start to bend when they are pushed. ski-doo has stated that light is good but light is not always right, being too light can be bad.
Stick to minecraft kid.
it's funny how you will tell me to stick to minecraft and call me a kid when I listed actually points that are issues that they didn't even touch on. the next time you feel like commenting something stupid, make sure that the comment has some sort of information to shoot down my point. so, quoting yourself, stick to minecraft kid.
I don't argue with high school kids. Jealous of the combined 20 views on your 20 vids tho that channel must be generating some serious profit huh Connie?
you do realize that those videos are 5 years old, right? and I am still yet to hear an actual point from you.
I'm still not sure what started all this. did my comment offend you or do you think otherwise? if so have a civil conversation about it and state actual facts. instead you some how get on the topic of videos I made 5 years ago. your like a woman on her period looking for anything to yell about.
polaris will be the first one to blow up, guarantee!!
My buddy's AXYS blew up after 400 miles.....and went thru half a dozen a arms in that time. Lightweight comes at a price, you gotta get good at riding on 1 ski!
Do Polaris 800s still grenade like the dragons?
Not as bad, but yeah. Only reason I don't own one yet.
Cranks still go not nearly as much though
A friend bought the new 900R, broke crank at 6.4 miles
Its elevation, not altitude. Altitude is when you drive off the cornice and the free fall distance between the launch point and the bottom of the valley.
I am a Polaris guy good choice
Good sled if they put a different motor in it. They should do a deal with BRP like Arctic Cat did with Yamaha. Before they partnered with Yamaha their motors were garbage, now in my opinion they're the best one on the market
I went from skidoo to Polaris now in 2017 18. going back to skidoo.the free ride.
What about the fact that the 2016 Polaris axys come stock with a minimum of 39 inch wide front suspension, where all the other models are 36-35 inches in the front. Wouldnt that be a negative to the handling of the pro?
Yea but polaris pay to much snowtrack to say that
Polaris rocks.
M8000 is the best in my opinion. Or sumit
I haven't been on a newer RMK but a 2001 I have and that was their tank rmk
skiDOO_1000 doesn't even compare
Polaris pro is for sure a great sled but if we compare other aspects like engine durability overall build quality and oem accecorys whit some of the other brands atleast in my book drags Polaris to second place. I think the costumer also likes a sled that have a broader user degre.
I can assure you, Polaris sleds are nice and tighty. and just cause they've had issues with engines a while back doesn't mean these are bad engines. they've had no issues with these.
+Johan Waar Ya, no problems with the new 800.
Nice vid
Could someone tell me what the differance between a summit t3 and a "normal" summit is?
T3 =track with 3 inch lugs
WE love Polaris???? what a shock get a new song. Bias videos blow
Thanks for that incredibly constructive comment. Just curious, when was the last time you spent time on all 4 of the industries top 3 inch mountain sleds? Not just "I tried my buddies M8000 last winter"... but really tested them? Never? thats what I thought. Until you do, accusing us of being "biased" means nothing. Its not our fault that Polaris has been killing it for the past few seasons. We just call it like we see it.
i only started riding last year but every time we go to the Revelstoke we see a Polaris broke down and one pissed off dude hahahaha my bro says they are only glued together lmao also look at 100% of local riders and they are on doo's
i like skidoos motto. keep on pushing. lotta thought when into that one. duh.
Never could stand yellow since they were first made, always remember the sticker on my dad's 71 puma, selvester holding little Tweety bird in his hooks.the good old days. Or the old one. Don't eat yellow snow.
Rmk rear coolers?
Ski doo all the way
if only the Polaris engines held together....
Dm C the fuck u talking about never had a problem with my engine before
I liked the video but if you factores in the reliability of each sled it would be alot more fair and you might not have picked polaris because there reliability in the motors is absolutely terrible.
That Polaris ain’t good on trail just say but I love it
Love my 17 cat m8000. Il take the loss on the low rpm power. For a killer good 2 stroke motor.
I am from Canada either Skidoo or Polaris
Untill they make the price cheaper quit buying any of them. Send them a message they will understand.
Snowmobiling isn't a cheap hobby anymore. It sucks because the cheap stuff rides rough as hell and usually don't have huge track configurations for the steep snow. No different then any other competitive sport I suppose, it gets really expensive.
I thought the Viper was a Trail sled
17 thousand plus install? wonder what that would be. f that!
wheres the Lynx Boondocker
you didn’t compare it to the Alpha, what’s up with that
rmjthunder the alpha didn’t exist at the time buddy
@@danielleheiget4517 Just asking, what do you think of the Alpha
This test was done in 2016... the alpha was still a pipe dream. Look at our more recent videos, weve done a few different reviews and stories on the alpha now.
rmjthunder sorry for replying so late, I thinks it’s cool, but I would get disowned by my family since we all ride poos
These guys are Polaris fans
nick_101 butt hurt?
nick_101 no they just pick the best sled
What about 3 inch sks
Sks isnt build for mountain riding, sure its built for deep snow but not mountain riding
Polars is the best
the sleds needs to have led headlights
+kurlis polaris do
How did Yamaha even make it into the shootout
Polaris all the way😏
guy has a fxr gear on saying hes not pro polaris. clutches blow up and my 2016 163 spanks a 2017 174 polaris skido is the only way. articat haas a beast for next season.
What does having FXR gear on have to do with picking polaris as a winner? Glad to hear your experience with your Skidoo is the only proof anyone ever needs that the ski-doo is better. Your clearly NOT biased at all. From now on ill just ask you which is the best instead of testing them all.
I thought it was a shootout not a comparison video
Polaris blows motors thoe pretty easy so keep that in mind
YEAH POLARIS!!
That's why I ride a Pro.👍
174 is 3 inch? Right
+Thomas Johnson ya
Dont even have to watch this to know the Polaris will win
Ikr. It's soo good
2021 sled shoot out
ill keep my freeride 146 2 inch lug
Where the hell is the Alfa one
It's in 2016 bro
