Enjoyed quite a few of these pics. The bus one with the boot..the building with the yellow strip downwards..the people walking and on bikes. I also think people sitting on park benches would be good and/or old men sitting on a stools in am 1800 Pub.....old furniture and light fixtures in some of the older buildings would be cool too. Well done👏👏
yeah. good ideas... people in conversation at pubs and in cafe's through the window is good.. it captures life in motion candidly.. The bus came out good... the editing with the old film software helped it be more arty farty... but I like it
Love the street photography Robert. You should do more of these walkabouts. You're so right though about people loving to take pictures of people getting on and off busses - what a clever observation 🤣Have you watched Gary Lashmar (the street thief) shoot street? If you haven't I bet you might enjoy his style.
Thanks. Yeah i need to do more street. Like bringing Jerry along so do more parks but steeet is best. Wow that guy is great.. no fear.. his style is so edgy.. he has balls thats dor sure. Thanks i subcribed
You’re good to keep going with the street photography. It certainly isn’t easy! I like that you used the film pack to develop the photos. The film look has that special charm to it. I was thinking of getting a canon 5D mkii as it has that filmic look or maybe just a Fuji for the film simulations then I try and snap out of it because I don’t really need another camera lol. I’ve just got to get out more and use what I’ve got 🤪
Yeah. Its a fun genre. Except Jerry cant come.. bummer. I guess i could take her. Haha. I am exact same.. want both those cameras and then snap out of it. I've already got a good camera.. 👍
Thanks. Haha.. I think i am Aborigine sometimes... going for walkabout with Jerry. I started to get poops... so much construction... one day it will be built... not
Now I understand why your photos were so good Roberto, it was Jerry on the phone telling you what to do. I do agree with you, loud noises from cars or motorcycles are very annoying. BTW, touristy photos are good, don’t forget that many of your subscribers are not from Australia, like me, an Argentinian living in Florida😂. Can you please look at my question on the video tutorial that you did on Luminar? Be well.
haha yes i think of that sometimes... people overseas like to see different things... even my boring old suburbs is interesting in a way... as it shows different ways people live. I have an Argentinean/Australian neighbor living next to me. Lots of Italians in Argentina too that went after the war... And some good football players.. .hahaha La Mano de Dios
That was good Roberto, the picture of the man in the orange top worked well. I always struggle with street photography but you may have inspired to me try it one more time. Again. Just an idea, I have used a slower shutter to deliberately blur the movement of traffic and people. It can look good sometimes. It's easier with a lighter camera like the EM10 or something similar. I was a bit worried by the use of 'Rambling' in the title as I thought that it meant that you might start talking nonsense but thankfully it was in the walking sense. I'll look out for the next installment.
Thanks Lee... Yeah... I was thinking of doing that with the cars.. In the end I was flipping around with different speeds and settings... Hahah.. No you where right the first time... I meant the Ramblings of Mad Street Photographer... Its more in the Part 2... I just start rambling on like a crazy... talking to myself... I need Jerry to keep me sane... :-)
The limitation of an EM 10 mkII will be the inability to set a minimum shutter speed. You are correct in using shutter priority, but I would use 1/400s instead. Even 1/320s might work. When using the faster speeds you freeze nearly everything that normally happens on the street --- almost. At 1/200s, it will cover most shots, but not enough. I like the photo of the worker, with the construction work in the background. Don't be afraid of the people, as most people are OK with photos. If you get the not so good look your way, avoid that shot. I recently bought the Lumix GX-9, which is great for street, and you can set a minimum shutter speed, then shoot in Aperture Priority. Light compensation dial on the top is an added bonus, and it is 20MP. I have a Canon RP, which is an inexpensive FF camera. With the 50mm it is compact and pretty light in weight, though I added the grip to it. Red grip, is the sexy one! The EM 10 mkII Olympus camera, in shutter priority, works OK for street. When people see the camera in use, they think it to be a vintage film camera, and that you are pro. They sometimes think you are a tourist using a film camera. If asked what you are doing, by all means tell them that you are doing street photography. I give them a bit of paper with my name on it and tell them they can search me on the Net. If you snapped that person you are talking to, compliment them on how they, or their dog say, look, and show them the image on the camera back. You might want to then ask if they are OK with being added to your Internet site, as the photo came out so lovely. Also, if you see someone coming of interest, try to immediately setup a best looking background for an image. Not always easy, I might add. If possible snap when the person turns a head your way, or into the light. After shooting on the street many times, you can anticipate a look to come, a greeting, when people might repeat something interesting that they are doing. Then there is the old, they turned the wrong way, or a car or truck cut in front, or... well ya know! I am planning on updating my site again on Tuesday, here in USA, with a whole bunch of photos. Take care, down there, Loren Schwiderski
Thanks Loren.. very wise advise.. all that is exactly what I need to put into practice. So much to think of when on your feet. Thats why I think street photography may look easy but to be good is a challenge. Yes I noticed the min shutter speed limitation before... the EM1 has it. I must remember to use that feature with EM1.. Haha that guy in the orange jumper that walked into my shot.. told me to fark off.. .haha.. I just brushed it off... it can be embarrassing but I guess its something one gets used too... I was thinking of the RP also as my first full frame... this week I just went and bought 2 old film cameras... technically full frame... hahaha... Ill show them in my next vide... spoiler Olympus 35 RC and a Yoshika Electro 35... Too much GAS :-)
@@robdido Yes, some people are not holding up well during the plandemic pressures -- getting hostile. Maybe their shorts are too tight :)) Wonder what it is about a hand held camera which tiggers people? Camera are on every corner and in every store. Cameras on smartphone are taking images by the billions. Most people are good -- most are cool. Some are crazy, and just the dumbest animals on earth. Must be the fluoride in the water system. :( The RP camera is discontinued. The new Canon R10 is something one might wait to see the test results on. A new Canon sensor. Hopefully more dynamic range. The FF thing is fine, but really, MFT and APS-C are great for street and general photography. Canon crop factor is a 1.6 so smaller lenses reach out more. Will see how the sensor does with noise / ISO and dynamic range. Canon makes their own sensors and the cameras are made in Japan. The new mount works for FF and the new APS-C. So RF mount is the way to go.
4:05 That arcade is pretty nice. What is wrong with people? They'd rather buy it on Amazon? Corporate culture. Yuk. ... You could probably get some cool shots in those ahops if they'd let you, especially the vinyl record store.
Yeah the little shops struggle when big dept stores monopolise it all. I like going down them. Forgotten little side streets. Dont get many record stores anymore. Would be cool to shoot
I think its a great idea documenting these old buildings as they are all going to disappear before long
So true. They tried to demolish the old Roxy cinema. In the end I think they are going to envelope it with skyscrapers..
Great video. The city looks very interesting for street photography. The pic I enjoyed most is the one with the orange and yellow.
Gotta love those teal and orange presets.. haha... cinema look
Good to see you on the Street Rob.
You look the part with that EM10, leather case and flat cap.
I’d be jumping out your way too 😀
Going for the hipster loser look.. haha need a better strap to complete the look... strret photography is fun.. very engaging
