    Really like your Chanel man. Here’s the thing, when people ask if it’s reliable, we are really hoping it makes it over 100,000 without any issues or major repairs. That’s like the base line. Reliable to most I would say means you should get at least 200,000.

    I have had a 2020 4 door Jeep Wrangler 2.0L. It has plenty of power. I live in the NYC area, to merge on some of these roads you need a vehicle with good acceleration. This motor has that. I goto the Adirondack mountains regularly and going up and down the mountains from i87 to Lake Placid NY. This motor works well even in high elevations. I have stock 31.5 tires and get on a flat highway 28 to 31 mpg going 70mph. Even when going thru hills, still averages 24 mpg.

    I bought my wife a JL Sahara w/this 2.0 turbo 48v mild hybrid last fall and she LOVES it.!!! She preferred this engine in test drives over the 3.6L v6. The 2.0 is punchy!! I was nervous about a 4cyl, but not any more. Nothing but great reviews on this engine in the industry. My buddy works at Stelantis in the transmission dept in Indiana, and he told me to get the 4cyl. over the 6cyl. Had it now for a year, wife is HAPPY !!

    2020 Sahara, 2.0 eTorque. I'm averaging 21 to 23 with up to 26 on 2 lane 55 mph highway. The mileage drops after 70 mph. Have 72,000 on the odometer and the only engine issue was an expired 12 v battery. It pulled my 1200 lb fishing boat a considerable distance at 65 to 70 and the mileage dropped to a still solid 19. I rarely use the start/stop mode. My goal for the vehicle is to drive it 150 to 200 thousand miles like I got out of my 2014 Wrangler. Considering that I'm retired now that could be several years down the line.

    Perfect engine for a jeep as long as the power curve is moderated. When your in a situation on steep rocks in 4 wheel low don't want a bunch of torque hitting suddenly from a turbocharger spooling up. The one advantage is as you go up to high altitude don't lose a bunch of power like the older 3.8 and 3.6 with 37-40 inch tires needed all the power could get. I live in Arizona we have mountains that go to 6-10k feet high. I would never buy a ecodiesel for one thing the power band is way too short with turbo lag. The emissions are a hassle to deal with all those sensors IMO the small 2.0 gas turbo gets the power of a diesel without the hassle of emissions.

      I wonder how reliable all those electronics will be after bouncing around the desert and climbing steep rock trails like I do here in Arizona. I'm not against hybrid technology it does a great job of filling in the power curve almost making it flat when your 42 miles down a trail that took you 6 hours to get to last thing I want is some complicated mess to troubleshoot.

I can get 30+ on the highway easily and I have Falken Wildpeak A/T Trails which are so much better than the stock Firestone tires. Also it does seem to be a bit smoother accelerating. The 2.0 doesn’t sound bad it just sounds like a 2.0 4 cylinder. It is way peppier than the gladiator like almost disconcertingly so. 😅

    From what I've seen, option for option, the 4xe is basically the same price as a non-hybrid. Once you factor in any government incentives it ends up cheaper. In Canada this is true at least.
    I just bought a 3.6 Sahara and sticker price was within $1.5k of a 4xe with basically the same stuff, plus 20 inch wheels. Factor in the incentive of $2.5k from the government and the 4xe becomes cheaper.

Oh be put 29,500 miles on it and I’m averaging 20-21mpg in local driving and highway mileage drops some to 18-19mpg depending on speed. Just one thing bothering me, the cooling system is overly complex with an additional coolant pump on the passenger side next to the transmission that is totally plastic, and electrically driven. Over time I plan to uncomplicate that! The oil is easy to change without removing skid plates etc. I do wish the air filter cover was a snap down design rather than 8mm screws into plastic that are just asking to become stripped over time.

The doors rust and only had mine two years and the doors starting to bubble rust. But you’ve never stated that people trade them in at 90,000 miles because of the turbo goes and needs replaced. I bought mine with 187miles on it and it hit 36,010 when I dropped it off at another dealer to get it fixed and told them I’m not happy with it. Never had so many electric problems with the start/stop auto

    I own a 2020 Wrangler with the 2.0.... The ESS has given me hell and I have been through two battery swaps (one under warranty and one not). I just got it out of the stealership for the ESS light coming on again and thats where the second battery swap (both batteries) happened. It just came on again for the third time. I may bypass the ESS because I dont use it anyway. The lift struts gave out within a year and the visor clips broke within two years otherwise its been a good vehicle. Manufacture date according to the door placard is May 2020 during the shutdown. Due to skeleton crews back then I can only guess the finance guys installed the ESS system.

      @Awesum 3 місяці тому

      The ESS is by far the worst fucking feature. I wanna install a bypass but was worried about the same issue with the battery. I've just conditioned myself to turn the thing off as soon as I enter the car.

    I did a test drive on 2 2018 jeep unlimited wranglers with turbo.
    They both drove well but one had an engine fan working extra hard and it didn’t matter if AC was on or off. The dealer said that is standard and nothing is wrong. But ironically the other never had the engine fan on.
    Is the engine fan constantly on an issue ?

    I don't really have a problem with it having 2 less cylinders, or having a turbo. The problem is that it's GDI. That almost guarantees issues down the line. Couple that with the fact that it's relatively new, and I'm not sure about long-term reliability. The 3.6 V6, for all it's faults, at least has been around for a long time and is in a a lot of vehicles.
    Otherwise, the 2.0 is a fantastic engine if you plan on getting rid of the vehicle after 6 years or so.

      I don't know the difficulty of removing this particular intake manifold, but on other makes, media blasting the intake valves free of carbon is SIMPLE and relatively inexpensive.

      It's been used in Alfa Romeos since 2016, pretty good record thus far. I've been using CRC's GDI cleaner every oil change-hopefully that will help keep the carbon deposits at bay. So far these engines don't appear particularly problematic when it comes to carbon buildup.

    Did no one notice the Peugeot 505 at 4:10 ? Pretty rare sight these days.
    Edit: Just finished the video and I know I'm late to the party, but do want to say that yes, this engine is pretty decent. However, it's a highly complicated engine and is much more sensitive to abuse than the 3.6 would be. So to all owners, be warned, use premium fuel and high quality oil. Also check the oil level at least every few months as they do tend to use a bit of oil and running them low is a disaster.

    I recently purchased a Wrangler and it's my first car. I noticed a "2.0L" logo on the engine and was confused about its meaning. I was informed that it's a 2.0L Turbo engine, which led me to wonder why they didn't use a "2.0T" logo instead. Could you explain the difference between a 2.0L Turbo engine and a 2.0T engine?

    • @yutuniopati

      L is for liter, the size of the engine. A 2 liter naturally aspirated engine and a 2 liter turboed engine both have the same size but one has a forced-induction (basicly a turbo).

    It’s an Alfa design based on the one that’s in the Giulia. It has been a pretty darn good engine for them. Wouldn’t pick it over the simpler and older, more proven 3.6 but it would not be a deal breaker for me to get the 2L.

    If you have to put a lol turbo charger on an engine other then a high performance motors -- don't know just does not seam right. A 4 banger with no turbo charger seems right. Guess you have to turbo charge on it because it doesn't have enough power. Good luck after 80k. BTW how much does a turbo charger itself cost when it takes a bowl movement?

      Towing. Engine would have to run deep into turbo boost continuous to do towing duty. That would not be desirable , nor sustainable. V6 can get the ft lbs with lower cylinder pressures… V6 gets less ft lbs and gets them later, but turbo 4 has to boost pressure in cylinder to get the ft lbs and that continuous heat load (as opposed to intermittent) would over heat the rig fast.

  • @challangerboy1977
    @challangerboy1977 Рік тому

    There are definitely problems with 2.0 engine, as soon as it overheats you need to replace the engine because the block warps, it’s also got a charge air cooler in the intake that gets hot with the boost which doesn’t help with the overheating issue. It’s also a loud engine when operating normally and can over-boosts pretty easily. Not saying it’s a bad engine, the 3.6 definitely has problems such as the oil cooler but I’ve seen a few of these go within 30k kms. Maybe it’s just a thing in the colder Canadian climate but would still watch out for that.
