Turtle rock - takes forever to get down the hill and get groceries, there is nothing around, no restaurants etc. and if you are way far up the hill, it will the full 20-25 min to get yo there, it’s quite a hike. Imagine the drive every day. I used to rent a house in Turtle Rock and after 3 months the drive and absence of nearby stores and restaurants made me move out to another part of Irvine. 😊
Great park has obscene taxes, highest of all developments. Also, no own shopping center - residents are resentful and drive to Woodbury. Last but not least, it sits on an old military base which was a superfund area so the cleanup was minimal. Would you want to buy a house on a former toxic site and pay $$$$ in taxes?
Woodbridge location is amazing. Old homes but you are close to everything. Beautiful wide streets and trees, very pretty.
Love QH. Very close to the spectrum, very convenient. ❤ higher home insurance rates because in a riskier fire zone.
    Nice work, guys!

Thank you so much for this detailed comment.
Can you tell me more about Woodbridge? What can be possibly rent for 1 bedroom condo / apartment? Is it easy to find it there ?
I am moving to Irvine in a couple of months for my postdoc at UCI.
Also if anything else I should know. I have been to states but lived in NY and Columbus Ohio for a few months. And this is a permanent move.
      Will appreciate your response.

I'm really enjoying these varied and comprehensive but always fun video's as an Australian living in Britain currently being considered for a professional role in Irvine.
Hoping to be out there in two weeks, on the ground seeing for myself & taking in the vibes.
If you were looking for a single person dwelling with space to WFH a few days a week (so lge 1 Bdr or small 2 Bdr dwelling) & an OSP and access to bars, bands & beach, what areas in the OC would you primarily recommend?
