- This is a step by step instruction on how to assemble a Tvilum 5 drawer chest. I created this video to help others assembling this chest of drawers because I find the instructions rather confusing. If you find this video helpful, please subscribe to my channel to see my upcoming videos.

I seriously doubt I could have built this without her - the instructions are just too vague to be helpful because you have to do things right the first time with these pieces and the instructions leave a lot of room for guessing. I had the idea that maybe somebody posted the instructions on UA-cam and we came across your video. You are literally doing the lords work. If I can do it you can too 😉 I was young and broke and figured I’d try to fix things myself to save money and I enjoyed it. The guys at Home Depot have always been very helpful, you tell them what your problem is and they tell you what you need and how to fix it.

You are a savior! Gave me the courage to stop whining and do it:) one question though, my instructions gave with an assembly glue included for the wooden screws - do you think it is fine not using it (as you did not..) thanks!
Mine didn’t come with glue and I haven’t had any issues so my guess is you are fine without it. The advantage of the glue is that it makes it more sturdy so if you think you will be moving it around then it may be a good idea to use it.
Thank you for this video it helped a lot. However, my draws don't close completely, I can see the draw slide when I look from the side.
Hmmm I’m not sure why that is, if all drawers are like that, maybe the rail isn’t stewed in to the correct hole?

I actually have the 3 drawer chest but can you please show or explain how to mount to wall? The booklet is not easy to understand. Very helpful video though
Hi Melissa, this step needs to be done before the drawers go in. There are two holes on the back panel of the chest by the top, mark the holes on the wall and remove the chest. Using a stud finder, check to see if you have a stud where the marks are, chances are you won’t be that lucky but if you are, place one of the washers included in the packet on a wood screw and then punch it through one end of the strip and screw it to the wall. If your wall is hollow you can use EZancor. I have another video up installing a floating shelf without studs, it can help you with how to use those: tua-cam.com/video/1X_5RxQuvAA/v-deo.html. Once both strips are screwed to the wall, place the chest back against the wall and pull the strips through the holes. Use the screw and the second washer from the packet and punch it through the other end of the strip and screw it to the underside of the top of the chest. I hope this helps 😊

when I put the drawers in the metal bar does not come out with it, therefore I cannot drill in the final 10 screws. what did I do wrong?
Does it slide out without the drawers?

How do you remove the drawers to move the dresser?
Unscrew the two screws that holds them in place and they will slide out.
I cannot put mine together, dont have the knowledge, skill, or patience. I regret buying it, over 100$ wasted, and no charity or resale will take it, brand new, because it is made from fiberboard. So.....tomorrow I am taking to the dump. That will be a relief. I dont have room in my life for this frustration. Good luck.
I don’t blame you for giving up, it’s certainly not a quick and easy setup. Sorry you have to dump it. If you have two teenage kids in your neighborhood or friend’s kids, I’m sure they’d put it together for you for $20 or so. Just a thought 💭

Instructions are worthless, it took me some time to figure it out and that’s why I decided to create this video, I’m sorry it didn’t help. I hope you’ll be able to put it together somehow. Once put together it looks nice and it is actually holding up very well.
