    Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.

    Several design changes in the 2019 version of this product have left me scratching my head while trying to put it together. The drawers now come in 2 boxes of 3 + 3. There are holes which are not used in half of the rails on the drawers. I panicked when I could not find the long connecting piece that he works on first. It looks like that has been replaced by two shorter, sturdier pieces which screw onto the center divider with "L"-shaped clamps. I have found a few discrepancies in the drawings that don't correspond to the parts. Undoubtedly I will find more changes before I am through.

      @@PPFlatPack Thanks very much for your reply. Your video has been very helpful in understanding how the pieces fit together. It is maddening to realize that there are up / down and left / right differences in otherwise apparently identical pieces. It is so easy to make a mistake if you don't pay constant attention to the instructions, as unclear as they are. It wouldn't hurt for Ikea to point our attention to where finished / unfinished pieces need to face in or out and maybe use arrows to indicate which end goes up. For example, it was your video that made me realize that the first piece to work on is the center divider - I thought the first diagram in the instructions was one of the ends. The instructions did not make that clear at the outset. Thanks for your help!

      @@robertgreenhouse I agree - spent ages putting these together last night and could've done them much easier had I seen this video first ! Not sure where we have gone wrong but our drawers do not slide open and closed very easily ? they are all catching on something and I can't for the life of me work out what . It seems to make a bit of a grinding noise on the runner part in the centre divider section area as if the wheels are struggling and then gets completely stuck about 5 inches from closure ? Takes a good push and a jiggle around to get it to continue to close (which isn't going to last long if we have to do that every time we use them ) Have checked that the runners are on the right way up - none of the instructions actually makes it clear which way they should be - any ideas guys ?

      @@robertgreenhouse Hi robert, thanks for your comments. I'm in NZ and to my dismay, have just figured out that the pack I've just unboxed, does not match this video for the reasons you point out. I'm stuck without a video that uses the same parts! Given you have been through this, I just wondered, did you end up using the video as a 'general guide' only, or could you still follow it quite closely? I'm very nervous about the smaller parts as you say, IKEA does not instruct up/down/in/out. Any tips ? Thanks

    • @robertgreenhouse
      @robertgreenhouse 4 роки тому +1

      @@ginagarvey3474 It's been a while since I put the kit together, so I will answer from memory. The video was very helpful for sure, but it took me a while to figure out that the video showed a long strip of wood across the bottom, which given the fact that you are dealing with particle board, has got to be vulnerable to breaking because of its length to width ratio. They must have learned that and redesigned the kit such that now there are two half-length pieces to replace it. Essentially the two dressers are assembled separately then bolted together rather than being assembled onto the long strip along the base.
      The other difference is that there are three packages instead of two in the video (two for the drawers). My advice is to lay out all of the pieces at once, watch the video to understand which piece goes where - label them if you need to - and then rewathch the video stopping it at each step. Pay close attention to symmetry or lack of symmetry. The one mistake I made was in not noticing that a set of predrilled holes - I believe it was on one of the end pieces of a drawer - were not centered vertically and that it was possible to try to put the end piece onto the assembly upside down and reversed - in which case, the holes were slightly off, and I tried to force them together until I realized my mistake and had to disassemble the furniture and reattach the end piece.
      Bottom line - identify all the parts, make sure you understand how all the pieces fit together before starting. Pay attention to finished vs unfinished surfaces (another difference from the video in which apparently all surfaces were finished) and give yourself a couple of hours to do the project - better to be slow and sure. The drawings are terrible (there are a couple of holes which are not used and do not show up in the drawings) but I found the video to be a big help once I understood some of these differences. Good luck.

    Is there a hole at the back of the drawer in the last step, or did you make the hole with the drill?

      Only this hole is not predrilled you have to do your self. Or just press harder on the screw it will go in without drilling hole before as you see in the video.

    Be careful building facedown on carpet, if some of it gets pinched you will not get it up. I build it on the side and go up till it looks like a skyscraper. Then lay facedown to nail on the back panel.

    Can I use the small electric screwdriver for the entire assembly or do I also need the bigger drill?

    • @pierreandrada5920
      @pierreandrada5920 4 роки тому

      bebeg1rl you definitely can use an electronic screwdriver but start the locking pin screws with a hand screw driver at first. This will prevent the screw going in at a angle and possibly damaging the hole.
