I think probably the sorceress or the paladin but it could be the amazon with infinity self-wielded or on the mercenary...the dragon tail assasin can do alot of damage with charges from tiger strike, but it is much higher maintenance due to requiring charges than the amazon...still very good though esp with having death sentry etc...
the most op class is the one you still have fun with in a 23 year old game

Would be true if paladin wasn't objectively the most op class in the game with the most top tier builds available to it all the way from budget builds up to super expensive builds.
Grind the pits offline. Also hell andariel you can set your pc clock so that she is always terrorized. You will find everything you ever wanted.
Honestly. Having d2r on my PlayStation makes it so much easier and nicer than the old days. Software issues etc
People play D2R only 10 days a year and say that they are grinding for 20 years...

Mosaic assassin, literally the most broken mechanic in the history of the game
I've been running one and it literally doesn't need infinity or sunders or anything to absolutely crush. I just got infinity and I doubled my clear speed

Basically mostly it is down to end game S tier gear. Thats why i love this game! The grind does literally matter! Once you get good gear any class can work and is fun to try! Also the devs are really doing a great job keeping d2r updated! Every season theres new improvements.. Im so happy Blizzard kept this gem alive
They really gave us our 40$ worth with this game compared to so many games out lately

Summon necro with corpse explosion. Have merc use infinity, eth andys , bramble for thr thorns aura. Between summons, corpse explosion, and thorns you can clear anything so easy

Paladin. The only class that can get away with the, "Stop hitting yourself" strategy.
You can get thorns aura merc in act 2 so summon necro and summon druid can use this too :>

I remember playing original D2 and getting constricting ring on my mf sorc. The 100% magic find on it was unbelievable. Still upset it was taken out.
It wasn't taken out, it never dropped. I'm not saying it wasn't obtainable, a lot of very interesting items found its way to the closed battlenet but through exploits, not intended way.
Like Jmods, SOJ surge. White gear. 1.07 to 1.09 the glory years of d2. Open battle net Boss rush mods Median mods Sunless ect Then 1.10 came and all then all the runewords...
Hex charms, bug shaft, bug belt, occy ring, ith items, wiz spike gloves, imp shanks, body pops when dueling etc.. patch .08 .09 and 1.10, so much fun

I played 1.08 where every poison damage multiplied by each other. Someone remember? Complete inventory full with poison charms 😅 and completly overpowered
lol I remember making a poison barb with two crystal swords with 6 P emeralds in each because of that
I never understood filling your inventory with charms because that means you’re not able to carry anything and that defeats the whole purpose of the killing and looting mechanic

@@growingoaksthe better your gear is, the less there is to find. A fully geared character just picks up an item every couple hundred runs. That's why you put it in the cube. Lastly, the charms they have would be a crime to not wear them. Some people have 20/5 sc and +1 skills 40 life grand charms. You're just going to leave that in your stash? That'd be a crime to do that

With a full geared fire druid, for me it’s the most fun and the damage and aoe is crazy plus having a perfect flickering flame just puts it up there with these builds without a doubt, but most importantly fun!

Hands down phoenix strike mosiac assasin. It's completely broken and 10x more powerful than any other build, even with kid tier gear

Every class and almost every build can be godly, i remember owning anyone and everything in pvp with my vt and bvc. Nothing could stand in my way with them beasts
Bvc and vindicator r pretty wild druid is also surprisingly strong for pvp I never would have thought
Anyone remember the strength bug sorc meta? There used to be bugged rings with -strength and when you had a negative srth and swapped weapons with W it would add +1 to all skills. So you would build a sorc with one point in every skill and spam W when you joined a game by the time the cow level was opened you'd have a 100k dmg chain lightning.
I remember that, cows used to be the level up way to go too they nerfed that in 1.10 I think in 2002 but before that cows could get you super fast levels also I think Amazon could pierce infinitely with their lightning javelins on cows

Java feels pretty op on console when you got griffons eni infy and tstrokes if you ask me. She got the best crowd clearing skill, can solo ubers with her amazing charged strike and to be honest if you wear arach and magefist to reach 99fcr farming keys doesn't feel bad either
One of my favs and she's even a blast in budget gear

My favorite has always been a Hardcore Weapon Throw Barb.
Throw Barb is very fun
budget wise blizzard sorc, fohdin, hammerdin, trapsin, javazon
Having a blast with a double-dragon hand of justice paladin and a sundercharm. Everything just melts. The fire damage is insane and i traded everything by myself.
High end people don't like to farm keys and rejuv pots so that's where i get my runes from.
I love the ability to walk around and just collect cool drops that's essentially farming in a nutshell in this game you never know what you're gonna get
As for console i have no idea seeing as teleport doesn’t work like it does on PC. Cant wait to find out tho cuz i bet there will be so many damn good ones especially for PvP. I can definitely see Psn Nova necs being annoying, Blizz Sorc, Nova sorc, Chargers haha,LS or WoF hybrid WW sins, Ghost sins. Glass cannon bowas will be very strong (no namelocks). Fissure Druids, BvA, and finally Libbys (Hdin/Charge). But pretty much any skill with AA will be quite the contender.

Prob the most satisfying melee character to play, it's fun to see all the enemies just drop... I enjoy frenzy and we barb too even though caster characters are so much faster

I remember when act 4 oblivion knites used to use iron maiden man that was torture, hardest act in time.
That literally used to be game breaking
I always liked that about the game. D2 was funner back then because it was "smart."
Now everyone is the same character(s) that the looked up online & the game is just dumb.
No resets on the skills really set the "elite" players apart from the rest. So much thought behind every stat & skill.(that part isn't missed too much.. sucks deleting your character because an accidental click)
There used to be so many special builds that you'd run into. The top rares used to be our "runewords." Charsi was so popular 🤩

Just finished a summon necro. Lv1 to hell baal, no respecs. Made a mockery of the entire game. Gonna do it offline next and just chill and take my time. But compared to even my nova sorc, fishymancer is the king of sanctuary.
Hell baal is not the end of the game. If anything, its when you get a toch and anni
I always like the bone necro, max bone spear and synergies and CE, glass cannon with very few off limit enemies
Ppl sleep on necro so much you can see when you go to trade for a torch and see how low ppl value them vs other classes which is wild bc I think they’re one of the strongest

Favorite builds are Javazon and Kicksin. For casual playing HydraOrb or Necro Summoner.
infintiy maiden spear zon is the best ive ever played for solo p8 content , nova sorc with infinity is amazing as well
Ice + fire sorceress, javazone, hammerdin or FoH are perfect for low budget and fun to play :)
I think paladins have the most unique builds and the most types of classes that were optimal last time I played.

People will say mosaic BUT only when the charges are going. Sure with burst of speed you can stack charges pretty quick but sometimes it’s nice to have a class u can dive into mobs with immediately. I think mosaic sin is obv beast but you can’t go wrong with the classic 125 FCR hammerdin. But in all reality like the top comment said it’s whatever class you have fun with- for me poison necro with death web ☠️

Easiest start ever with dogs, bear, and heart wolverine and health/mana snakes in group play
When in baal runs the bear can stun the whole council wave so they don't summon hydras(saves time each run)

huricane chills mobs and puts them in fhr
Cyclone armor can tank black soul hits
Torches are cheap af
Can walk worldstone keep with 2x spirit and a ham sandwich with 1 pt in each pet then the rest to max oak sage for a beefy boi that can self farm anywhere
Back in the original D2 druid was my favorite to play. Cheap, fun, complex character. Always had enig and would troll casuals pvp.
Probably the safest character to Hardcore.

Mosaic sin. But I only play summon aura phys Necro. Corpse explosion + amp is faster on many areas.
I think it's more fun than mosaic sin too...gathering charges makes the gameplay less fun for me when magic finding
Depends if you have endless wealth from JSP and can get bis from day 7 or if you are a free to play player that just grind casual. Some build are OP but req god like gear. Some req no gear and a doing pretty well. So depends :) i like FoH pally and Java once u get a light charm for budget. Light sorc/spearzon when you have bis gg items. In the end what ever class u have most fun with is the best :)

Diablo player since 1997 here answer is: Assassin....they are ASSASSINS after all. Tiger strike was broken for bosses....hybrid sin was broken for pvp. Trapsin broken for pvm, super safe. Now in d2r , 2x mosaic sin is broken. "wHaT AbOUT pALLy?" SmitePally on a budget beats budget kicksin for uber, but geared out, kicksin is better for uber. Bonus: Sins just look cooler
Yea I think sins and necros are probably the strongest the sin is like a Necro because of death sentry but also is way better at single targets without requiring revives and stuff

I've played Smithers for many years and can confidently say they're the most w we ll rounded and the strongest as far as taking damage. You can become so strong no element can hurt you. So much so elements heal you. All in all things fun comes first.
I think pally prob is the best build all around and sorc probably as a first character to gear up your pally or whatever you want enigma on lol
@dartlingaming I like starting the game as pally and a smiter because they are cheap for all levels. Black or strength for a weapon base in a flail that will cover you a while. Making Spirit or Ancients pledge or Rhyme in a shield. These shields can be remade as needed in pally shields. As you go for shields for better and better damage. The rest comes as you go I feel. Charge gets you from place to place easy. This is just my go to when starting with nothing. Another point also is ubers, you can be hired to do others ubers or spam them by yourself. It's so much more fun then doing 1000 runs to me.
I personally went running hammerdin and did loads of travincal until I started building a hork Barb (trav until Lo dropped) and started making grief so that I could use it on both my smiter for Ubers and a pitzerker I wound up actually getting a ton of GG tc87 items fairly early for instance I got a death fathom and a death's web first week and traded it immediately for high runes, I dropped a cham on my first playthrough with sorc and got my cham shako I still use to date

Im sorc...i mostly run, teleport....tp home...to back more running....eventually casting blizzard....and run or telekinesis because i had to waste a point in something awful....and probably no loot cause i like, flagellating myself farming Pindleskin...and logout

Java for bosses and crowds. Necro with ce for masses and sorc for bossss. Looks like Javazone combines the best of 2 words.

Paladin is essential to diablo. A game without a paladin class is just not a diablo game. They could of made a 3rd person Diablo game solely focused on the Paladin class.

Plugy has some qol d2r doesn’t have…the main improvements are graphical, some of the old school players don’t like all the more recent balance changes as they think it makes the game too easy

Amazon with the right gear is the fastest killer in 8 player (makes it like 1), Poison Nova/CE Necro with right gear is second. Third is probably Blizzard sorc.

D2 hc has no op or no meta thats why diablo 2 is a masterpiece. Every single build is different and works

Def true, I think it comes down to the area and what you’re farming vs PvP because Druid is arguably the best in that case

With barbarian I think I never died once the entire game and with necro I barley finished the game and died many times.
Those shouts are so strong they had to make a runeword for all the other classes to keep up lol

It's too OP because of CURSES and MINNION (SUMMONER build)
Curses really are awesome, I think a strong mercenary combined with curses can handle any content in the game

It was the deadliest.. Up until now i battled way stronger items than me plus the iron maiden reflect armor with thorn aura from mercenary combo, is just unbalanced...
Necro can be MELEE, CASTER, TANK(BEAR), SUMMONER, RANGE(BOW class), it's so dumb
He is the ultimate character in the game...

I’ve been actively searching for shako since I started Diablo back in 05.
Now in Diablo 4 I’ve found 3 of them.
It just doesn’t feel right. It’s not the same. If you found a shako in 05 you’d basically have a parade in the street.
I remember when finding vamp gaze was special lol, loot is still tougher to find than many other arpgs, but it def got easier over the years through patches, terror zones makes getting the rarest items much easier as well, and trading runes for stuff with websites like traderie or diablodex makes it way easier too when back in the day there was only d2jsp and you had to be a super diehard to use that (I wasn't even aware of the arreats summit website that had a ton of info back then)
I want to get this game but I never played any Diablo games is it good? How’s the looting? Do you have a base to store your loot? How long does it take to beat the game? And can you still play after you beat the game
Yes to all, it takes about 20 hrs to beat all modes give or take if you watch guides etc your first playthrough will take longer esp watching cinematics etc

As a kid i only beat diablo with the druid. I have no clue how people learned how to take advantage of things like FCR, FHR and breakpoints before things like gamefaqs. I wasnt allowed to use the Internet that much as a kid so i was constantly creating new characters by the time i hit act 3.
I think it was mostly ppl in their mid 20s back then probably who found about a few forums from an aol chat room in all honesty lol

I have a dual dream tesladin with grief, cta, coh, etc. but didn't have dracs....I went into Uber Tristram and got trounced.
The damage and defense totally sucked.
My ww barb using bul kathos children outperformed him... especially when all three Ubers dogpile you.
Zeal and frenzy have a tough time with single targets you even have a tough time keeping lifetap going from dracs

I'd watch UA-camrs go in with less impressive rigs and totally melt all three which gave me a false sense of confidence going in...

Going all the way back, Necromancers and Druids were always my top favorite. My least favorite is an Assassin. I still just can't get into her playstyle.
But druid build could go wrong and very hard to fix when I first play.

Absolutely nuts, I'm thinking with hustle runeword/metamorphosis you can possibly break the game with self wield infinity spearzon now with an ACT 5 FRENZY Merc
@@dartlingaming it's quite possible, the fun part of the game is the different builds you can make. But I saw my buddy I play with just blow through anything we are farming with ease. The Infinity spear zone atm is the meta. Only suffering from tele but run/walk can be pretty quick. And instant boss killer. You ever see anyone else 1 shot diablo? Hell I saw a 2 shot Uber Diablo 🔥
Yeah I did Ubers in like 1min 50seconds with this build it's actually nuts how good it is at everything and can still do cows nearly as fast as a lightning fury javazon with an infinity Merc

holy fire auradin (the holy fire aura and conviction was destroying everything though the merc was just me trying a diff merc out)
Nova / energy shield sorc with -75% or -85% enemy lightning resistance. By far the most overpowered build in terms of kill speed and survival.
not really overpowered since it needs a metric fuckton of gear to work
