Just a suggestion. When breaking or tightening/torquing the nuts, always go for the push down motion instead of pulling. It’s a good habit to avoid straining your neck or back.
Hello Daemon 671. Thank you for the suggestion, I'll definitely push down from now on instead of pull up. When dismounting and mounting 285 tires my neck and back always get sore because of the weight of the wheels. Thanks you for commenting.
Always pull up. This is common practice so that if the socket slips, you dont drive your knuckles into the ground. Pushing away, you have no control on a slip vs pulling, when you slip, you have better control of movement.
Great video, I have a 2016 Tacoma TRD Off Road, 3" lift, liked the stock wheels, so put on 285/75/16 Falken MT's, were rubbing slightly, took off the mud flaps, put on the same spacers you did, worked perfect, it's been about 18 months now, no problems at all, the spacers did put the front alignment out slightly, got it aligned, so far so good, just installed them like the directions said, always was not to sure about spacers, but these seem great. The truck looks a lot nicer to.
great video. installing these this weekend. bonus tip * when your finished using your torque wrench, roll it back down to zero - 10 ft lbs. (storing it loaded up to 90 ft. lbs will prematurely ruin your wrench)
Hey got a question, I got some Gorilla Automotive spacers installed but the shop didn't tell me that there was only 3 threads worth of engagement on the nuts. I took them off due to safety concerns. Do these spidertrax spacers have that problem? I don't want to spend another $300 on a set of spacers to have the same problem. Thank you for your time.
Hello Gamble612. Yes I complete agree with re-torquing the nuts down after 100 miles or maybe 500 miles. It's best to check the torque every 5,000 miles or every-time you get the tires rotated. Another thing to mention is that when Loctite cures after 72 hours, you do not want to break the bond by retorquring the spacers. The wheels nuts need to be retroqued but I would not retorque the spacer nuts after the loctide has cured. If you break the bond after it cured, you must remove the bolt then clean it; and then re apply the loctide. I used the blue loctide isn't as strong as the red loctide, the blue is to be used in applications where you want to remove the bolt after sometime. Let me know what you think about that statement, thank you for commenting.
You mentioned extended travel suspension if I’m not mistaken you need to change out the lower control arms the travel well only extend it as far as the lower control arm will allow it and if it’s the factory nothings changed
Hello Mathew Torress. Looking back at this video, I should of had a jack stand under the frame while the truck was jacked up. It was difficult to find jack stands the were tall enough for my lift truck, needed to be at least 17.5 inch high and that could go up to 21 inches if I needed it.
Doesn't really matter if the jack failed I never saw him put his legs or body anywhere under the vehicle or the control arm. Side note though your torque will be off because you weren't holding the wrench at the handle
Hello@@mustangenthusiast Thank you for your input and I'll be using jack stands no matter what. And yes; the spacers were re-torqued after 500 miles the correct way.
Awesome video, I picked up some Pro Comps for my 2010 Tacoma not knowing they weren't going to clear my front breaks. So I've ordered these wheels spacers after doing some research.
Hello BoomBoomLou. These will definitely help with clearing your brake caliper, make sure you do a fitment check once installing these. After installing these spacers I had to do a cab mount chop to clear the tires at full turn. Should be $200-$250 at a local fabrications shop.
why is that 90 ft lbs? coz the instructions said 75-85 ft lbs.. i just installed one and having some steering wheels shaking issue, not sure did I torque it right as i set to 80ft lbs.
Hello Moe T. I am not running spacers as I upgraded the wheels that had more offset. I did sell my spacers to a friend and he's been running them for 2 years without an issue.
I was just about to buy a set of these when i realized the kit only came with two spacers and you have to buy 2 of them doubling the price. Gonna have to wait on that
Did it resolve your rubbing issue and how do they effect premature bearing wear? Since the tire is being pushed out more it would effect the bearing because of the added distance from stock how did it workout on your bearings and suspension, and any harder steering
Hello ML L. Yes that is an opinion if you have enough money to build a new set and have the time to sell the others. The average set of wheels for Tacoma's are between $800-$1000 and spacers are $200.
Or you can add spacers, show me a Tacoma that has ever had spacer issues, that weren't purchased on eBay or Scamazon you can't. I have these and wheel the crap out of my Taco jumps rocks you name it. People always commenting on stuff with their opinions and not their experience come on man
@giggitygoo We all have the money to buy whatever but a lot of us want TRD wheels or keep stock wheels. I'm not buying 2k rims that I'm out trashing on rocks and sh&$ there are zero issues with using wheel spacers on a Tacoma ZERO. Have you ever used them? If not please keep your opinion to yourself. We have been using spacers on Tacomas for decades with ZERO issues smh
Spacers work for many people and so do new wheels with a better offset. Both change the physics of the truck to some degree. You just have to decide which pain is the one you want to endure up front. Eventually everything turns into a time and money issue.
I love how your taco build is going! Keep it up! This made me rethink about spacers, I was trying to stay away from them. I’m going with the fox 2.5 coil overs without the reservoir; your video made it seem easy to install.
Hello Tacoma 009. Yes the truck look very good ride now and performs even better. I constantly get compliments at gas stations and in traffic, the suspension definitely stands out. If your hesitate to get spacers, then I would stay away from them and put the money towards the suspension. Spacers are not a must but they do help and give the truck a more aggressive look (raptor look). The Fox 2.5 without Reservoir are differently going to be low maintenance, are you going with factory length or extended length. If you get the extended shock, then you'll want to buy new upper control arms.
Stryker of Seattle yes, I’m leaning toward the fox 2.5 IFP with the option of 3” lift and keeping it as close to the stock height until I can get the upper control arms.
Hello Tacoma 009. Sound like a good idea. Many people do not realize that when you upgrade your shock, you need to upgrade your upper control arms. In reality you can lift your truck up 3 inches and keep the stock control arms. But do not plan on having a lot of down travel or up travel. If you're going to keep the truck strictly on the street, then running stock control arms with a 3 inch lift is fine.
Hello Taylor Inase. There are actually a 100 yards away from where I filmed this on the closed runway. The boeing plant has been stored 30+ (777) since no one is ordering them.
MrSiegfreid. Here is video of my lift, wheels and tires video. All sizes and part numbers are in the description of that video. Let me know if you have any other questions. ua-cam.com/video/yDyfS4v5hdY/v-deo.html
I put on 275 70 R 17 on my 22 Tacoma. The tire when I make tight turns rubs against the control arm. I was told if I put a one inch space around. It will rub against the wheel. Well, what can I do? Thank you.
These come in blue or black, I'm trying to decide if it matters to me though. Do you even see the spacer once the wheel is installed? I didn't see it in your walkaround at the end of the video. Blue is available locally, black would need to be ordered.
Hello Pax. I've only seen SpiderTraxx spacers in anodized blue, so I can not speak to whether or not the black ones are the same. I'm sure they're the same material, and no you can not see the spacers when the wheels are mounted. Only if you look into the wheel from 1 foot away. I would not worry about people seeing the blue spacer as they'll get dirty as soon as the truck is driven.
Hello Eric Leal. Tires are a Falken WildPeak All-Terrain AT3 Tire 285/75/R16. These tires are great for all weather conditions, I've had them for 16,000 miles and have driven ski passes several times. I would say they're good for mud but if you're primarily focusing on mud performance get a mud tire. I bought these because they allow for better fuel economy, less road noise and are cheap. I paid $150 a piece for these tires compared to $225 for KO2. If you want a mud tire definitely check out the duratrax wrangler tires, I had them on my 2013 Tacoma and really liked them. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hello @@shitter111. Toyota dealership, best friend is the manager of the aftermarket devision. I would suggest finding them on the internet and then going to Discount Tire to beat the price.
Hello William Osorio. Thank you for commenting. The spacers will work on your 2016 Toyota Tacoma Sport with the stock wheels; it should give you some offset vs the stock offset. Best of luck; good luck with the install. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for the video bro 🤘🏻 So I have a question for you . Do you think it’s possible to use 2 spacers on each tire ? If I wanted to put on a 2 inch and a 1.25 inch ? Or do they make 3/4 inch spacers ?
Safety side note: JACK STANDS Always have 2 points of contact to avoid dropping the vehicle on you. Also if possible have someone stand on the brake while torquing the spacer and wheel in the air. Make sure to retorque the spacer after 50 miles.
@@pentzwerks Be safe my friend. Great video on the product. I’m picking up a 2021 TRD off road next week and I’m excited to start my mods on it. Like these spacers and new tires.
Hello @@edduubb6022 Which dealership did you purchase it from? I'd start with a level kit, spacer kits work well if you do not off road. If your local, I can set you up with someone who can install everything with a warranty.
A Dealer in Northwest Washington. I appreciate you offering. I have some good connections here also. What hangar is that? My cousin has a couple hangars at Arlington Municipal Airport. Very cool spots to have.
Hello @@edduubb6022 I'm located at Paine Field Airport. The dealership I would have do it is Michaels Toyota of Bellevue. A good friend runs the accessory department there.
I am actually having a similar problem with my truck, and found this video, that can be of help. I installed a Bilstein suspension setup and the car is lifted 2.75" in the front. I upgraded the tires to 285/70 R17 but I had to remove the mudflap which i'm OK with it, and after got the car aligned, I still have some rub on the mudflap area, while turning on uneven areas. Some people say the spacers will make the rub worse, but I wonder how was your experience after installing the spacers, and what was your wheel / tire size. Thanks for your response.
Hello Abdiel Gonzalez. I have a full three inch lift on my tacoma and with the offset of my tires I do not rub. You might need to adjust your front coil overs to a full three inches to get rid of the rubbing; if you're already rubbing do not get spacers. Instead take your truck to an off road shop and have them to a CMC (cab mount chop) for $275. If you do that you won't have to fully lift your truck to 3."
From my experience adding spacer will not resolve your rubbing issue, it will be worst... u need to get some spc uca's to align the caster fwd that way will not rub ,also cmc should be done, i went through all those stages i can tell , but anyways it looks a lotttt better with spacer , that little poke gave that agressive look! Nice truck!
Hello No Limit Tacoma. I ended up moving the preload from 1.75 inches of thread to 2.00 inches of thread, and adding a .25 spacer to the top of the drivers side Coilover. Fix the issue of rubbing caused by Tacoma Lean. If I decide to keep the Tacoma, and not upgrade to a 4runner I'll do the CMC. The reason my leveling kit didn't rub is because I had a full 3 inch lift. Thanks for your advice.
@@pentzwerks Thats what i had first a 3inch leveling kit , but with spacers i was rubbing, not crazy rubbing but it was, so i did the cmc and got 33" inch tires and 2 inch hub centric spacer no rubbing after .. nice build anyways tacos are the best hehe💪
Hello @@geralrodzlife4440. The leveling kit is the most reliable way of lifting your tacoma while staying manufacture warranty compliant. As soon as I installed the Fox Suspension with UCA, the dealership used it as a scapegoat for everything. I ended up selling my Fox suspension and went back to the leveling kit, the ride is still good and now I have a full 3 inches of lift. I had so much "tacoma lean" with the fox suspension 1/2 difference in the front and a full 1.25 inch in the rear when comparing the drivers side height versus passenger side.
Good explanations 👌🏼 what wheels do you have? I really like them. Also, what % of tint do you have? I’m looking to do mine on my taco. Want to go dark but not limo tint either. Thanks in advance.
Hello Edizzle. Thank you for the positive feedback, I try to make the content clear and understandable to others. I had XPEL Ceramic Window Tint installed at 25% tint, this is light enough to not get a ticket and dark enough to not be able to see someone's face. The legal limit in Washington is 35% so if I ever get pulled over I simply open the sun room that lets light in. Let me know if you have any other questions. So you solved the rubbing ? My tech at a Toyota dealer told me about cutting the frame and something about camber , if I wanted to go to 33" tires. That had me confused since I heard others have no issues with rubbing. I'm not about to do something so permanent as a weld and cut to my truck. So I had thought about just staying stock or going one size tire larger than stock. Before I have a lift and suspension done , I'm researching everything. I'm being told to go with Toytec shocks , but I have Fox or King in mind.
Hello Bryan Resch. Where are you located? If you're located in Washington State I have a dealership that can do all of your modifications. If you have a 3" lift you will not rub with 285 tires (smaller in width than a 33" tire) 285/75/r16. I had a leveling kit on my truck and had NO rubbing. Check out my Suspension, Wheel and Tire Video for more details on that. Get your suspension done first, then buy wheels. You do not want to buy wheels /tires that will rub before you lift your truck. King, Fox and Toytec are very good brands. You can also go with Bilstein.
@@pentzwerks I'm on the East coast. Don't get me wrong , my guy is trust worthy and I'm comfortable using him. I just don't think cutting into anything is necessary if you do the right lift and suspension , right ?? I also don't want to upgrade suspension if I'm not getting an upgraded overall ride and handling in my truck.
You never mentioned or show us, is the spacers stopped the tires rubbing into the inside of your fenders, I thought the process is about that and not the looks.
Hello Hany Jacoub. The spacers made the rubbing issue worse than it already was. I decided to do a cab mount chop (cut out some of the fender area), no rubbing issue now. I apologize I did not video the clearance of the tires.
Nice video! When tightening the wheel lug nuts you first mention to tighten them to 83 ft lbs. afterwards you said 43 ft lbs. which is the correct torque.
Hello Yosiph Armendariz. 90 ft lbs to attached the spacer, 83 ft lbs to attach the wheel to the spacer. Sorry about the confusion, good luck with your install.
Did you have any issues with the spacer nut being flush with the nut?seeing a lot of post with people saying it not flush and not looking safe. And where been man no videos for a while?
Hello Brandon Smith. The nuts should be flush when you insert the nuts the correct way (tapped side first). If you do not insert them correctly they will not be flush. If you think there's a manufacture error then you should contact SpiderTraxx for a hardware replacement or refund. I will start making videos again this week and next week, sold my Canon and bought a Sony. I apologize for not uploads but they'll be coming soon with more product review.
Hello WhatGoinOnPeople Both ways looked good; i removed the spacers shorty after installing them. The offset of my wheels are -10mm with no rubbing. The spacers require the cab mount chop.
Hello Steve Gwon. Yes the spacers did not resolve the problem. With my leveling kit with a net lift of 3" and -10mm off set wheels I did not rub. When I installed my Fox DSC suspension with 2.75" of lift, I would rub at full wheel turn (left and right). If I upgrade to a new tacoma I'll do the CMC first. Thank you for your input.
Hello 808KRESS. Yes the spacers work with spline lugs (I upgrade for security reasons as I did not want someone stealing my wheels); but Spidertraxx gives you lugs to attach to the wheel hub and then you use your factory bolts to bolt to the spacers themself.
Hello Joe Fahey. Here's a link to my lift, wheels and tires set up. Everything is linked in the descriptions and it also lists the sizes of everything. ua-cam.com/video/yDyfS4v5hdY/v-deo.html Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi.. I have a 2015 taco pro. I just installed icon 2.5 cdc front and rear with deaver stage 1 leaf pack.my question is I'm thinking using my stocks wheels which is 16” I asked to my local shops they said I need a 1.25 spacers to go bigger tires. I'm thinking putting a 285/75/16 wrangel duratrac. Do I need a BMC or not ,does it rub.what my best option.coz I don't want to buy new wheels I want to keep my stocks. do I need wheel spacers. thanks for your video.
So I just ordered some and waiting. I'm running 275/70/17 BFG , I don't have rubbing issues now but in your opinion will my tires poke out from the fender?
Hello Kyle Gaulin. I have the spacers installed on the truck for 2 weeks before removing them. I sold them to a friend who's had them on for 2 years with ZERO issues. These spacers have been around for a very long time. I sold them due to upgrading to more offset wheels.
Hello Miguel Munoz. After install these spacers the rubbing still occurred, the only solution to rubbing is to get the cab mount chop which cost around $250. I’ll do the CMC before purchasing these spacers; unless your using these with stock wheels.
Thank you for the fast response! I almost pull the trigger and making a purchase but glad you responded quick! Now I need to find a shop in Asheville NC. Hopefully I can find someone who can get this done. Thank you so much for your help!@@pentzwerks
Hello Miguel Munoz. If you were in Washington I could help with shop recommendations. I’m sure there is a fabrication off road shop within an hour or two from your location. Best of luck, I’m glad I could help.
Hello Hermes Garza. I will always use jack stands in the future. I should not trust just the floor jack to keep my vehicle from falling. Thank you for your advice.
Nice truck man Im gonna do a 3 inch bilstein set up on my Tacoma trd sport and planning on putting 285/70 r17 tires on the factory sport wheels do you think using this same size spacers 1.25inch will prevent any rubbing on the UCA’s???
Hello Mark Tadeo. With a full 3 inch lift you should not rub depending on the offset of your wheels. Test fit everything before ordering the spacers, if there is no rubbing then there is no reason to buy the spacers.
I just did a pro comp 3/1 level kit on my 17 strd sport. Bfg ko2 285/70/17 on stock wheels. Its rubbing at full turn on the uca... not sure what size spacer to run... +30 offset
1961 impala hey man so I lifted my truck Toyota Tacoma trd sport with the bilstein 5100’s and old man emu coils and I ended up putting 285/70 r17 nitto trail grapplers on my stock sport wheels and 1.25 spacers no rub at all
you said to apply the brake to keep the front wheel from spinning when tighting the spacer, do you mean the emergency brake ? if so does that keep the front wheel from spinning? thanks
Hello Angelo Farace. Yes apply the emergency brake before lifting the truck. The front wheel hubs will continue to spin. I took a piece of 2x4 and put it against the brake and seat to keep the front wheel hubs from turning. The back wheels will be fine with the emergency brake but for the front you'll need to compress the actually brake pedal. Let me know if you have any other questions.
All these negative comments from people with opinions and not their experiences. Tacoma people have been using these spacers for decades, that's right decades. If you purchase these or similar and not from eBay or Scamazon then you will have ZERO ZERO ZERO issues. We use these and wheel the F out of our trucks. And by wheeling I mean places most folks on the comments have never been SMH I promise you, you will have zero issues with the proper spacer. Period. Go on over to the Tacoma World forum and do some actual reading and see how these actually work. I just can't with the dumb comments on UA-cam sometimes.
The information you provided for European install is indeed incorrect. Also any euro spacers are made to be hubcentric and require different thread lug bolts because of the shank length difference.
Hello Andrew Peschau. These spacers were removed after 100 miles as they did not fit the rubbing problem. I will be getting the cab mount chop so that I do not rub anymore. Thank you for commenting.
I have a 17 Tacoma with 33s and 2 inch bora wheel spacers I scrub at full lock will never take off love the stance look will be getting the cab chop tho
I have the same rims as you with stock tires and I have the same rubbing issues: I think I am going to opt. for the cab mount chop although the spacers look good. Unrelated question, what other parts did you install on your lift? i.e. carrier barring drop or driveline or clamshell or none. just trying to piece together my lift.
Hello Marcus M. I would definitely get the cab mount chop as it's more function and it will stop the rubbing. I still rub and I ended up removing the spacers two days after doing this install video. I also installed a drive shaft carrier breaking drop kit along with a .25 inch spacer on top of the drive side front coil over (corrected for tacoma lean). toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Driveshaft-Carrier-Bearing-Drop-Kit-05-UP-Tacoma_p_168.html
Don't add spacers. Do a cab mount CHOP. Solves the rubbing issue and it doesn't void warranty. The only thing it would void is where you cut it on frame and it's not a critical point on the frame.
Hello Jerry D. Lift and tire video: ua-cam.com/video/yDyfS4v5hdY/v-deo.html The spacers made the rubbing worse; I suggest getting a CMC before getting these installed.
Hey man I got a 3inch leveling kit installed in the front and got bigger tires. My problem now is that my tires hit my upper arm when I do a sharp turn. Should I get wheels spacer or lift the back too if that will help ?
Hello Yonatan Diaz. What size are your tires? What rims do you have? What is the offset / size of the wheels. You should not have a problem with the tire hitting the upper control arm, what shop installed them? These will help to push your tire outwards but it may cause your tire to rub on the wheel well.
I purchased Fox 2.5 DSC with adjustable resi’s last week. Pretty stocked to get these on my truck! Question, how much lift do you have up front? Any way you could measure from center of hub to bottom of fender on all 4 corners? I like the stance on your truck and am looking to get something similar on my build. Thanks a ton!
Hello Yosiph Armednariz. Only the front is adjustable and the rear sit at the height of the leaf pack (Dakar Heavy Duty Leaf Pack - part number is in my unboxing video of this suspension). You will need to adjust the front coil overs to 1.75 inch of threads showing from the top of the adjustment ring to the top of the threads. I added a .25 inch spacers to the top of the driver side coil over (adjustment for Tacoma lean). You'll have the ride height that mine has if you follow those instructions, also what weight of springs did you get? 600lbs (standard spring for coil overs). Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks for the info! I understand the fronts are only adjustable as far as height goes. I should’ve been more clear on my initial post. I currently have a Toytec mini leaf pack and wanted to find out how much lift your Tacoma has vs mine. Measuring from center hub to bottom of fender will help determine if I want to replace my leaf pack with ARB Dakar’s or stay with what I have. I also have 285’s on my truck. My coilovers will come with 600lb springs which brings me to my next question. Which springs did you go with? I’m debating on switching them out for 650lb 14” Eibach springs to eliminate some of the preload and compensate for my 31 group battery, sliders, and soon to be skid plates. Thanks again for your help with this!
Hello @@joluar78 If you're planning to go with armor, bumpers and heavier equipment (dual battery, air compressor and other devices) I would go with the 700 lb springs. The measurements of preload will change though, I would consult Fox Customer Service or the off road shop you're ordering from as I do not want to give you the wrong advice. If you have a mini leaf add-a-leaf in the rear then you have 3 inches all around. After I installed the Dakar leaf pack I noticed that it's an inch higher than before (with the add-a-leaf), I liked it because when I had a load in the back the truck was level. I ordered my fox coil overs with standard 600 lbs as I did not plan on putting more accessories in the engine bay.
Great info! I’m still deciding between keeping the mini leaf pack or swapping them for Dakar’s. No plans on adding a bumper any time soon but I think I am going to upgrade to the Eibach 650lbs 14” springs to accommodate the larger battery and sliders I have on now. Thanks for getting back to me. I cannot wait to get these on my truck!
First off if the main reason for doing this was to have less rubbing then why wasn’t that part shown in the end with showing less rubbing? Normally the further out you take a wheel that big it can cause MORE rubbing on the fender.
Nice video I am about to install the same spacer on my 2017 trd sport tacoma . My truck is 3 inches lift .Hey I am looking to get a floor jack. What kind of jack are you using in the video ? What is the max height of the jack? Thank you
Hello BigE BigE. From the floor to the frame it is 17.25 inches with a 3 inch lift. I ordered the spacers just to try them and see if they work, and they resolved some of the problem but not all the problem (rubbing). I think in the near future, I'll remove the spacers and have a body shop do the cab mount chop and trim the fender line. I'm sorry about your bad experience with the wrapping of your rotors. Did you install SpiderTrax or another brand?
Ya I’ve been seeing everyone doing the cab mount chop for the 285s I ran the g2 from 4 wheel parts look nice but ended up getting new wheels with a -6 off set so it stuck them out definitely try them out and see if any problems I like your build your truck looks sick 👍
Hello D wreck Dunn. In all honesty, if you're going to run bigger tires then your going to have to cut into the frame. It may not be noticeable on the street but once you take it off road that rubbing will get much worse. Get the cab mount chop and enjoy not rubbing, I'm gonna get it done in the next two weeks before it start snowing in Washington.
I have a 2015 taco,put on bilstein ajustable shocks 125dlls ea,in the front,that have me a 3 inch lift,has a little rubbing inside,so went with 1.25 spacers and that did it.cheaper than spending on a lift
Hello Chris Venegas. I've linked my suspension, wheels and tires video below. The wheel offset is a 16x8 -10mm with no rubbing (I removed the mud flap). Let me know if you have any other questions. ua-cam.com/video/yDyfS4v5hdY/v-deo.html
Hello Michael. I still like the Fox DSC suspension. I'll be making a video next week talking about my experience with it. I'm making small adjustments here and there as I drive with the suspension more. I would recommend going with OME BP51 if you were on the fence about shocks.
Hello Chocolon. I didn't have a single issue with the spacers, they worked great. I removed them due to upgrading to a different offset that didn't require spacers. Let me know if you have any other questions.
If the factory calls for 83ft lb wouldn’t u Torque spacers to the hub at 83ft lbs too? What made you decide on 90 ft lbs. wouldn’t the spacer make it rub the cab mount area even worse? I’m installing these on my 19 taco in a couple days
Hello Rick DeMartile. I decided to use 90 ft lbs on the spacers because I used red lock tight to bolt the spacer to the hub. Then I used 83ft lbs for the wheels to the hub due to the fact the factory calls for the torque. The reason the spacer to hub is different is due to the fact I did not want to it loose and it will stay in place due to the red lock tight. I remember reading somewhere to used 90 ft lbs on the spacers; and I'll verify the torque value within the next 24 hours. You can use 83 ft lbs on both, but make sure you use red lock tight on the spacer to wheel hub bolts.
Stryker Seattle gotcha. I’ve read many other people that use medium blue locktite instead of read as well. I’ll deff be removing the spacers when I get aftermarket wheels. I guess I’ll need to decide what’s best. Blue seems like a good compromise between the two.
Hello @@Rickydbaby. Yes there are many opinions out there. Make sure you use anti-seize between the spacer and wheel hub, you do not want them to bind. Make sure you check out Stealth Series Custom for new wheels, best wheels for Toyotas. Let me know how the install goes, and good luck with your build.
Hello Kovaks. Yes these will help push the wheel away from the UCA. It increases the negative offset therefore pushing the tire away from the body of the truck. What is your wheel set up? How much offset do you have?
@@pentzwerks hey thanks for the reply, I'm on OEM trd off road 16" wheels and LT285/75 tires, tacoma has the stock lift as well, I'm not sure about the offset on the wheels
Were you bale to get at least 2.75"+ of lift over stock from these shocks? Im planning on going with the same shocks without adjusters but want close to 3" atleast.
Hello Krew808. Yes you can lift the suspension up to 3 inches but you will experience less ride quality. The only disadvantage of lifting it that much is it causes a harsher ride but it's not the end of the world. I will lift mine another .25 to .50 an inch in a week or two.
Would you be making a update video after with amount of lift and how it rides off and on road? I could imagine it settled over the months. I've read on the forum some people set it at 2.9" threads showing and that Fox said that was alright. Also what is the amount of lift your trying to achieve after you raise it?
Hello Krew808. I'll be doing three videos in the next three weeks: 1. Long Term Review of my MBRP Exhaust 2. Fox Suspension Problems after lifting it 3. First impressions after 4,000 miles 4. My review of the suspension In this videos I'll go into detail about my thoughts about the suspension and answer your questions. It'll be about 2 weeks till I can film all of these videos.
Hello Altering Genetics. I sold these after 2 weeks of driving on them. The guy I sold them too has had no issues with them. They are reliable but only used them on stock wheels else you'll have to get a cab mount chop.
Hello @@johnmarshall8417 It made the rubbing worse than it was before doing the cab mount chop. The stance in the front was fine, but it pushed the rears out more than I wanted. I would suggest running these in the front only, so they match the stance of the rear.
Hello T Nichole. Most tire shops will not put spacers on due to liability. They can warranty wheels but not something that connects the wheel hub to the wheel. I would suggest following the video and installing them yourself.
Hello Blake Biltwell Stealth Series Custom Ray10s 16x8. Smaller wheels make your 33 inch tires look like 35s at a glance. Check out my suspension, wheel and tire video. Links for the parts in the description of the video. ua-cam.com/video/yDyfS4v5hdY/v-deo.html
I’m not to truck savvy so mind my stupid question, but are spacers bad? B I have a Tacoma and I was thinking of putting them on because I like when the tire sticks out a little bit?
Hello Bones. I did not install these spacers with the idea of pushing my wheels out further. I wanted to fix my rubbing issue without chopping the cab to create more clearance, and sitting with the set up I had. Yes spacers are good but they're also good if you buy the correct brand and size. I would suggest doing one of two options: 1. Get a wheel and tire set up that has more offset than your stock tires. Save the money you'll use by buying the spacers and put them to a better use like a new tire or wheel. 2. You can use these spacers, see if you like them and sell them if you do not. I removed the spacers shortly after installing them due to the fact it did not fix my rubbing issue. I decided to do the cab mount chop and sold my spacers to a friend.
Hello @@grindiousmaximus Cab Mount Chop resolved all of my rubbing issues. Basically a 3 inch lift solves rubbing issues with a 285 tire, but a 2.5-2.75 inch lift does not. You will still rub off road depending on how you use your truck while off roading, on a logging road you should not have a problem. My advice is to ditch the spacers and go with a CMC.
Hows the ride quality compare form the RevTek leveling kit to the Fox ? I'm content with the stock ride.. was the ride quality sacrificed with the Revtek leveling kit? I wanted to go that route but it seems everyone eventually just upgrades.. or theres too much bro lean..
Hello Swilly22. If I were to do it all again, I would have stayed with my Revtek lift for the following reasons: 1. The Fox suspension is $4,000 dollars, Revteck ~$400 2. Unless you off road every single day or every single weekend, you do not need this high performance suspension 3. Fox suspension is high maintenance, takes a tech to install it properly and you have to read countless forums about it to understand it's workings 4. Fox does not have a warranty and Toyota won't warranty it if anything goes wrong "they'll blame it on the suspension regardless if it's related" This suspension cost me $5300 after installing it, "air bag wire came loose from installing the upper control arms and the fox relocation bracket fail and ripped my CV boot therefore replacing the whole front axle." 5. The ride quality is okay, my truck ran better with the Revtek spacer and felt more "tight" while driving, no sway Basically, if you're doing it for looks and only driving on the street go with the Revtek (more reliable, dealership do not mind them if they install them and there's no maintaining them yourself). If you upgrade to the Fox suspension, have a shop install them and have the shop order them so that if anything goes wrong.. they cover it. I hope this answers your question. In the near future, I'll be selling my Fox suspension and going back to the Leveling kit then selling the truck.
Questions:3. What makes the Foxes high Maintenance? Why would you need a "tech" to install them? What went wrong with your install for you to say this?4. Fox does have a warranty. You need to find a new Toyota dealership if they are blaming anything other then suspension component failure on your mods. What warranty claims have they denied due to the lift? What was the other $1300 you spent to install these yourself? What failed on the swaybar relocation brackets? 5. You are the first person I've ever heard say a 3" spacer rode better then a great quality suspension like Fox or King. Why are you selling the truck? You should have done research before installing the spacers thinking this was going to fix your rubbing issues? Your wheels already have a lot of negative offset causing the rubbing, spacers will only make this worse.
Ok you answered the question I asked about ride height. Haha. But I am still wondering if you had any issues with your Revtek kit. I wanted the Fox kit, but I want the most height I can get.
Hello H Mac. No issues with the leveling kit, and the dealer didn't have an issue with it either as they installed it. The fox suspension is a different story, the dealer did not like that I installed it myself or that I caused $5300 in damages to my truck (engine wire harness replacement and that the sway bar ripped my CV boot). All wasn't covered by warranty, go with the leveling kit. It's reliable, affordable and it provides you with what you want which is lift height.
Hey Stryker of Seattle, I just installed the same setup on my tacoma and am curious as what caused the damage to your pickup? Sway bar relocation bracket? I really don't want to run into that sort of issue myself, but am also only 1.5 weeks into the installation.
So I got a call back from Fox, and they make a 4”-6” lift coilover that will work perfectly with the BDS 4” lift, so I think I’m going with that! Thanks again!
Hello Mannyrox. I damaged happened due to the sway link that bolts onto the spindle came loose and ripped the CV boot open. If the bolt is torqued correctly and secured with lock tight you'll be fine. The other damaged happened while installing the upper control arm, the air bag wire locked in the front bumper came loose and the dealer reported it to Carfax. This focused me into buying a new engine harness because the air bag system is included within the air bag harness. All and all, I regret not having a professional shop installing my suspension. I saved $1000 by installing it myself, but it cost me $5300 in damages. It's all self inflicted and a series of bad events.
I have a ? For you I have bought the same rear shocks as you and I have noticed the clocking of the 90 elbow fitting on the shock is at 3 clock and the need to be at 9 clock did you run into this problem and if so how did you do go about clocking the fitting to the right spot
Hello Joshua Freeman. I ran into that problem with my front and rear shocks. One of the two pairs was facing the wrong way which really frustrated me because I paid so much for the coil overs and shocks. You can to loosen the fitting "nut" that connects the hose to the resi. Please be extremely careful as you do not want to break the seal of the nitrogen and oil, if you break the seal then you'll have to rebuild your shock and recharge it with nitrogen. Do it slowly and be care, this is not uncommon and can be adjusted. If you bought locally tell them to fix it or replace the shocks with the correct configuration. I had another problem as well with the bracket that fit into the rear axle, the spacer was too wide as I bought the tundra fox 2.5 shocks so I had to grind them down to fit into the rear axle seat. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hello Alex C. That's strange that the Spidertrax Spacers moved, I did not experience that on my tacoma. Thank you for uploading a video with a comparison of the two.
Hello Brian Carpenter. The rub was made worse due to the offset of my Stealth Wheels, with the stock wheels you should be fine. Ended up getting a cab mount chop at a local off road shop to make the tires clear. I recommend just getting CMC done before adding spacers or wheels with a significant amount of negative offset.
Hello Chris Vedrin. Yes wheel spacers cause the wheel bearings to wear sooner than if they were not installed. By pushing the wheel (offset) you are created more leverage and causing more wear, this does not mean that wheel spacers cause you're wheel bearings to fail, but they accelerate the process. You must weigh your pros and cons; technically any modification causes damage to your truck / car but people will always customize their vehicles.
Just to be clear, yes. They add a small (negligible) amount of leverage on the wheel bearings. Not nearly as much stress as normal driving or steering. Imagine how much stress you out on those bearings when you hit a bump or pothole. Most companies will say yes as a disclaimer so they can’t be held liable for bearing issues. As far as dealerships go, I’ve never had an issue with Toyota or Nissan service depts. If they service your vehicle, they have to take them off and won’t reinstall them, again because it’s a liability. I had rotor issues with a frontier that they took care of but the spacers came off and I got them back in a box.

Hello Nick Barnier. This will spacer will work on 2005-2020 Toyota Tacoma. I apologize for the confusion, I installed them on a 3rd generation Toyota Tacoma so I listed that in the title. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hello Brown Buoys. Yes the process will be the exact same. I do recommend using anti-seize between the wheel hub and the spacer itself. I did not use it in the video but it should be used to prevent the spacer and wheel hub from bonding together.
Hello Josh Martin. Sold these spacers to my buddy a week after having them installed. He’s had no issue with them, if you are using aftermarket wheels I suggest getting a cab mount chop so you do not rub. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@pentzwerks I recently installed 2" rough country spacer and replaced the stock tires with all-terrain tires. I'm just looking to get a rougher look with the tires sticking out, just seeing if it's worth the purchase or not.
Hello @@joshmartin5638 Id suggest saving your money to spend somewhere else. I'd put window tint on your truck before installing spacers. But then again, they're not really expensive and if you do not like them then you can sell them.
@@pentzwerks Fair enough, I have the window done, the level is done, A/T tires, LED lights... It's not a daily commuter so I'm starting to slow down with the mods.
Nice job, nice truck. I liked how you started to educate on Hub Centric vs Lug Centric, however what I didn't hear or see was a clear description on Lug Centric and your comment on Euro cars (using Lug Bolts) is misleading as most if not all that use that Lug Bolt system are Hub centric systems. I also immediately caught the jack stands and 83/43 torc as others here did. My constructive criticism would be ... You might want to demonstrate with B-Roll while adding scripted voice over descriptions for the important safety stuff....Yes this means more editing in post production....hahaha It would have been good to see the difference in wheel clearance demonstrated before and after. Also 12 plus minutes is too long for a video this simple... I think you are good on camera and your did a very nice video, but sometimes its hard to articulate all the items on camera. Nice video.....Keep them coming....
Hello Micheal Palmer. Your constructive criticism will be noted. It's difficult to record yourself doing the actions then stopping view the small segment of video with every clip. In the future, I might have someone work the camera then do the install all at the same time. Again, thank you for commenting and more videos will be uploaded in the near future.
Hello Fernando. No ride quality changes, the only difference that I noticed is that you can hear the tires more on the freeway. This is barely noticeable, other than that there is no change. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Hello Angelom & Fernando. I agree with Angelom on the change of ride quality, but I have not been able to feel or see a significant difference between have the spacers on and not on. This might be just me but I'm sure others have posted about their experiences on the forums and tacomaworld.
Hello angelom. No problem, I'm glad I can give people information that they need or are interested in. If I could go back I'd keep my tacoma stock, it's only truck that can be sold a year later for how much you've paid for it. My dealer offered me $36K for trade in when I only paid $34K without sale tax. Also from a owner perspective, if you keep everything stock then they can not complain it's not covered under warranty. The dealer always points out my suspension even if the problem has nothing to do with the suspension, it's their scape goat.
Hello Customer Waiting. No it did not. I would suggest getting the CMC (Cab Mount Chop) or lifting your truck another inch so that the tires do not rub at full turn.
Stryker Seattle well. I just got the spacers and it did the job. No more rubbing. I guess is because my tires are a little smaller. Keep posting videos man. I’ll be watching
Hello Binh Dinh. These spacers were removed from the truck a wheel after installing them as I needed to get a Cab Mount Chop. After getting the CMC done, the space clear the body and the truck has an aggressive look coming down the road. I suggest getting the CMC done before installing the spacers. CMC cost around $250-$300 depending on your area and shops.

Or deadlift consistently and get strong and lifting little 100 lb wheels won’t matter
@@meatlesspotato9579 why not a bit of both? proper lifting technique is important
Thank for doing this video!!!! I’m a female in a wheelchair and I think I’m gonna attempt this because I feel like I can do this!!!
Another thing I would mention is that after torquing the nuts down that you take them off and re-torque them just to make sure its a nice tight fit.
You have a negative offset with SCS wheels that adds more to the stance as well
You mentioned extended travel suspension if I’m not mistaken you need to change out the lower control arms the travel well only extend it as far as the lower control arm will allow it and if it’s the factory nothings changed
You put a lot of faith in that floor jack with no jack stands, bro.
Jack stands bro. Jack stands.
Hello Mathew Torress.
Looking back at this video, I should of had a jack stand under the frame while the truck was jacked up. It was difficult to find jack stands the were tall enough for my lift truck, needed to be at least 17.5 inch high and that could go up to 21 inches if I needed it.
@@pentzwerks Use 4x4inch wood blocks, stack'em up on the jack stands
Hello @@ssoulssurfer
Thank you for the suggestion, I'll use 4x4's in the future in addition to jack stands.
Doesn't really matter if the jack failed I never saw him put his legs or body anywhere under the vehicle or the control arm. Side note though your torque will be off because you weren't holding the wrench at the handle
Hello@@mustangenthusiast
Thank you for your input and I'll be using jack stands no matter what. And yes; the spacers were re-torqued after 500 miles the correct way.
Love the attention to detail - terrific video! Thanks.

Thank you, I appreciate it. There will be more videos to come.
Great idea! Let's throw off the steering and suspension geometry set forth by one of the greatest auto manufacturers in the world ... brilliant!
Hello Joe Tacoma.
Thanks for commenting.
Great video. Do you have a link where we can buy them?
why is that 90 ft lbs? coz the instructions said 75-85 ft lbs.. i just installed one and having some steering wheels shaking issue, not sure did I torque it right as i set to 80ft lbs.
Great video! Are you still running the spacers? Any issues after almost three years? Thanks in advance
Hello Moe T.
I am not running spacers as I upgraded the wheels that had more offset. I did sell my spacers to a friend and he's been running them for 2 years without an issue.
Bro that truck looks sick.
Or, you could simply order new wheels with the proper offsets and avoid multiple maintenance issues.
Hello ML L.
Yes that is an opinion if you have enough money to build a new set and have the time to sell the others. The average set of wheels for Tacoma's are between $800-$1000 and spacers are $200.
Do you recommend any wheels for say a Land Cruiser 200?
Stryker Seattle just wondering what did you set ur coils at u max them out at 3 or you around 2.5?
Where are you that there are several partially complete airliners in the background?
Hello Taylor Inase.
There are actually a 100 yards away from where I filmed this on the closed runway. The boeing plant has been stored 30+ (777) since no one is ordering them.

I would not worry about people seeing the blue spacer as they'll get dirty as soon as the truck is driven.
what kind of tires are you running? Do you like them? Are they a good tire? For mudding? They seem cool.
@@pentzwerks Where did you pick up those tires for so cheap?
Hello @@shitter111.

Hey like how you explained everything. question though will these spacers work on a 2016 tacoma sport with stock rims? Should be the same right?
Hello William Osorio.
Thank you for commenting. The spacers will work on your 2016 Toyota Tacoma Sport with the stock wheels; it should give you some offset vs the stock offset. Best of luck; good luck with the install. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for the video bro 🤘🏻
So I have a question for you . Do you think it’s possible to use 2 spacers on each tire ? If I wanted to put on a 2 inch and a 1.25 inch ? Or do they make 3/4 inch spacers ?
Hello Trouble Maker.
Yes it's possible to use two different spacer lengths on the front wheels / back wheels.
Safety side note: JACK STANDS
Always have 2 points of contact to avoid dropping the vehicle on you.
Also if possible have someone stand on the brake while torquing the spacer and wheel in the air. Make sure to retorque the spacer after 50 miles.
Hello Edduubb.
Yes Jackstands are a must. I didn't use them during this video but now I always use them.
@@pentzwerks Be safe my friend.
Great video on the product. I’m picking up a 2021 TRD off road next week and I’m excited to start my mods on it. Like these spacers and new tires.
Hello @@edduubb6022
Which dealership did you purchase it from? I'd start with a level kit, spacer kits work well if you do not off road. If your local, I can set you up with someone who can install everything with a warranty.

I appreciate you offering. I have some good connections here also.
What hangar is that? My cousin has a couple hangars at Arlington Municipal Airport. Very cool spots to have.
Hello @@edduubb6022
I'm located at Paine Field Airport.

Hello ProGreen LAWN.
Yes absolutely, the truck will have a wider stance.
I thought it looked just fine before the spacers.
Hello WhatGoinOnPeople
Both ways looked good; i removed the spacers shorty after installing them. The offset of my wheels are -10mm with no rubbing. The spacers require the cab mount chop.
Awesome video bro!
Hello Joshua Hedgecock.
Thank you! I'm glad these videos are helping people.
You have 33s on tacoma. the only solution is cmc. spacers don't help. you just essentially moved the pivot point of wheel out = more rubbing.
Nice build. Do the spacers work with spline lugs? It looks like you have spline lugs
Hello 808KRESS.
Yes the spacers work with spline lugs (I upgrade for security reasons as I did not want someone stealing my wheels); but Spidertraxx gives you lugs to attach to the wheel hub and then you use your factory bolts to bolt to the spacers themself.

With a full 3 inch lift you should not rub depending on the offset of your wheels. Test fit everything before ordering the spacers, if there is no rubbing then there is no reason to buy the spacers.

you said to apply the brake to keep the front wheel from spinning when tighting the spacer, do you mean the emergency brake ? if so does that keep the front wheel from spinning?
Hello Jesse Bennett.
Thanks for reaffirming the reliability of these spacers. They are definitely worth the money and give the truck a wide stance.
4 years in - any issues?
The information you provided for European install is indeed incorrect. Also any euro spacers are made to be hubcentric and require different thread lug bolts because of the shank length difference.
It looks ok. Although I would be interested to know how much faster the front wheel bearings are going to wear out given the extra stress.

What was your reason for removing the wheel spacers?
I'm on the fence about purchasing them for my 16 TRD OR 4x4 with similar mods.
Don't add spacers. Do a cab mount CHOP. Solves the rubbing issue and it doesn't void warranty. The only thing it would void is where you cut it on frame and it's not a critical point on the frame.
What size of lift you have & size tires? since you got the spacers you get any rubbing?
Hello Jerry D.

The spacers made the rubbing worse; I suggest getting a CMC before getting these installed.
Hello @@joluar78
If you're planning to go with armor, bumpers and heavier equipment (dual battery, air compressor and other devices) I would go with the 700 lb springs.
Hello Yosiph Armendariz.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
I had frame rub is why I got them

@@pentzwerks Why'd you sell them? Stance or rubbing?
Hello @@johnmarshall8417
It made the rubbing worse than it was before doing the cab mount chop. The stance in the front was fine, but it pushed the rears out more than I wanted. I would suggest running these in the front only, so they match the stance of the rear.
I bet they threw stuff on side of body lol. My last Tacoma did with just offsets & bigger tires. Had to wash it too often lmao. Enjoy your Tacos
Will tire shops do this? How do you get them balanced if they don’t
Hello T Nichole.
Most tire shops will not put spacers on due to liability. They can warranty wheels but not something that connects the wheel hub to the wheel. I would suggest following the video and installing them yourself.
Thanks, great video!
Hello Chris B
Thank you.
Nice wheels! Are those 17x8.5 or 17x9?
Hello Blake Biltwell

I’m not to truck savvy so mind my stupid question, but are spacers bad? B I have a Tacoma and I was thinking of putting them on because I like when the tire sticks out a little bit?
Hello Bones.
I did not install these spacers with the idea of pushing my wheels out further. I wanted to fix my rubbing issue without chopping the cab to create more clearance, and sitting with the set up I had. Yes spacers are good but they're also good if you buy the correct brand and size. I would suggest doing one of two options:
Stryker Seattle did cmc solve your rubbing issues?
Hello @@grindiousmaximus
Cab Mount Chop resolved all of my rubbing issues. Basically a 3 inch lift solves rubbing issues with a 285 tire, but a 2.5-2.75 inch lift does not. You will still rub off road depending on how you use your truck while off roading, on a logging road you should not have a problem. My advice is to ditch the spacers and go with a CMC.
@@pentzwerks Installing the spacers is going to give you more rubbing issues on your cab mount..
If I were to do it all again, I would have stayed with my Revtek lift for the following reasons:
1. The Fox suspension is $4,000 dollars, Revteck ~$400
2. Unless you off road every single day or every single weekend, you do not need this high performance suspension
3. Fox suspension is high maintenance, takes a tech to install it properly and you have to read countless forums about it to understand it's workings
4. Fox does not have a warranty and Toyota won't warranty it if anything goes wrong "they'll blame it on the suspension regardless if it's related" This suspension cost me $5300 after installing it, "air bag wire came loose from installing the upper control arms and the fox relocation bracket fail and ripped my CV boot therefore replacing the whole front axle."
5. The ride quality is okay, my truck ran better with the Revtek spacer and felt more "tight" while driving, no sway
Basically, if you're doing it for looks and only driving on the street go with the Revtek (more reliable, dealership do not mind them if they install them and there's no maintaining them yourself).
Hello H Mac.
Sounds like a plan, let me know how your truck rides after installing your new lift.
Nice Aerospace! Got the same one on a bracelet.
Hello Ukrainetrain84.
Thank you. Thank you for commenting.
Thanks I’ll let you no how it goes
Will these do for my 2020 SR? Will this instructional video work for all trim levels?
Hello Paul Garcia.
Yes it'll work on all trim models (SR, Sport, Offroad, Limited and Pro).
Mine 1.25 spidertrax moved. The ebay/Amazon spacer did not move at all. U can see in my video I did a quick comparison.
Hello Alex C.
That's strange that the Spidertrax Spacers moved, I did not experience that on my tacoma. Thank you for uploading a video with a comparison of the two.
What about the rubbing???????
Hello Brian Carpenter.
The rub was made worse due to the offset of my Stealth Wheels, with the stock wheels you should be fine. Ended up getting a cab mount chop at a local off road shop to make the tires clear. I recommend just getting CMC done before adding spacers or wheels with a significant amount of negative offset.
Don’t spacers put added stress on the wheel bearings?
Hello Chris Vedrin.
Yes wheel spacers cause the wheel bearings to wear sooner than if they were not installed. By pushing the wheel (offset) you are created more leverage and causing more wear, this does not mean that wheel spacers cause you're wheel bearings to fail, but they accelerate the process. You must weigh your pros and cons; technically any modification causes damage to your truck / car but people will always customize their vehicles.
Yes, and I was told it would kill the warrenty on everything in that area on my 2018 trd sport if I had installed them.
Hello@@h5y.
Most dealerships will use any modification to the truck as a scape goat to any problems with the truck.
Hello, What size of rim and tires? How’s the taco handle your size of tire?

The tires did not affect the handling at all, suspension is very reliable and I like the way it handles. Any bigger of tires would affect the handling such as a 35 inch tire.
I appreciate this. 🙏🏽 thank you!!!!
Hello Donard Ebana.
Not a problem, glad the video helped. Let me know if you have any other questions for me.
I have a very similar set up! I have yet to put the wheel spacers on though... 285/70?
Hello Jarrod Simmons.
I would suggest getting a CMC before buying spacers. CMC = cab mount chop for more clearance.
@@pentzwerks oh that was taken care of at the same time as my lift
Hello @@jarrodsimmons5349
Perfect, then you should be all set then.
In the title it says 2016 to 2020 tacoma. Would these work as well with 2015 tacoma?
Hello Nick Barnier.
This will spacer will work on 2005-2020 Toyota Tacoma. I apologize for the confusion, I installed them on a 3rd generation Toyota Tacoma so I listed that in the title. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I would snug the wheel lug nuts with a ratchet first before setting the truck back on the ground, then torque them down
Will this procedure be same for my 2015 Tacoma trd sport?
Hello Brown Buoys.
Yes the process will be the exact same. I do recommend using anti-seize between the wheel hub and the spacer itself. I did not use it in the video but it should be used to prevent the spacer and wheel hub from bonding together.
Curious to know if you are still riding with these spacers installed?
Hello Josh Martin.
Sold these spacers to my buddy a week after having them installed. He’s had no issue with them, if you are using aftermarket wheels I suggest getting a cab mount chop so you do not rub. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@pentzwerks I recently installed 2" rough country spacer and replaced the stock tires with all-terrain tires. I'm just looking to get a rougher look with the tires sticking out, just seeing if it's worth the purchase or not.
Hello @@joshmartin5638
Id suggest saving your money to spend somewhere else.
You might want to demonstrate with B-Roll while adding scripted voice over descriptions for the important safety stuff....Yes this means more editing in post production....hahaha
It would have been good to see the difference in wheel clearance demonstrated before and after.
How’s the ride quality, do spacers affect anything?
Hello Fernando.
No ride quality changes, the only difference that I noticed is that you can hear the tires more on the freeway. This is barely noticeable, other than that there is no change. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Fernando Badillo of course. There are tons of pros and cons about wheel spacers. Look them up online. Youll be surprised.
Hello Angelom & Fernando.
I agree with Angelom on the change of ride quality, but I have not been able to feel or see a significant difference between have the spacers on and not on. This might be just me but I'm sure others have posted about their experiences on the forums and tacomaworld.
Thank you brotha! love your content! my 17 TRD OR taco is still stock 😂
What wheels are those?
For the front, How do u make it not spin/rotate when tightening? I have a 4x4 taco 3rd gen.
Hello MichealPvideos.
I compressed the brake pedal with a 2x4, then kept it in place with my front sheet pushed against it.
The Pentz Project thank you 👍👌🤙
Hello MichaelPvideos
No problem; good luck with your install.
Did it actually take care of the tire rubbing issue?
Hello Customer Waiting.
No it did not. I would suggest getting the CMC (Cab Mount Chop) or lifting your truck another inch so that the tires do not rub at full turn.
Stryker Seattle ok cool. I’m running 265/75 r16 I think yours are 285 is that correct?
Hello customer waiting.
285/75/R16, roughly a 33 inch tire.
Stryker Seattle well. I just got the spacers and it did the job. No more rubbing. I guess is because my tires are a little smaller. Keep posting videos man. I’ll be watching
Looking to get these spacers , any cons so far ??
Hello Binh Dinh.
These spacers were removed from the truck a wheel after installing them as I needed to get a Cab Mount Chop. After getting the CMC done, the space clear the body and the truck has an aggressive look coming down the road. I suggest getting the CMC done before installing the spacers. CMC cost around $250-$300 depending on your area and shops.
Great video...fyi adding extensions and aditional items to your torque wrench changes the values... check it out..
