A Simple White and Green Hydrangea Floral Design

- I think that of all the flowers, those best suited to stand-alone are the mighty hydrangeas!
This design has been created for Alexis who wanted help with an arrangement of hydrangeas for her French style farm home. The flowers are to go into a white vase and her desire is for something not to fancy or arranged, more just picked and placed. Whites and green were her choice of hydrangea along with whatever foliage I thought would work along with a few butterfly hydrangeas and if they worked in, a couple of pieces of twisty willow. As we were talking, I quickly put the flowers together, sent across the image and Alexis was delighted.
When I hear the words, just picked I almost leap with joy because these are the easiest design to create!
Things to gather:
- Best vase is 14” high x 7 to 8” wide
- 2 x double green & white hydrangeas
- 3 green butterfly hydrangeas
- 3 x pieces of dusty miller foliage
- 2 x pieces of twisty willow

Awesome arrangement again very easy!!
The Butterfly Hydrangeas are so beautiful! They are perfect in this arrangement. The twisty Willow looks so good and tops off the design well! And you did it all so quickly! What a classic design!
So beautiful 💚🤍💚
Love your black & white kitchen!

Love your TAKE NO NONSENSE attitude !!!! Love you videos !!!!! xxoxxoxoxo
I love green and white combinations - so beautiful, Astar! And I love your butterfly hydrangeas! I hope you all are OK with the flood? Stay safe and take good care.
I LOVE IT!!!!!!
Beautiful.Stay safe❤
I absolutely LOVE revisiting your kitchen! It’s such a bright and cheerful looking place! But I do hope the flood wasn’t too damaging or costly! And this arrangement is so beautiful!!! Simple, but commanding! Have you seen the train in Hakone, Japan, that travels through the hydrangea blossoms when they’re at peak? There’s a vid about it on UA-cam 💚
Thank you for the information Jesse. We are currently planning another trip to Japan, so I'll investigate further. I'd love to see that and perhaps film for others to see.
Re the flood. It was late October last year. I'm still waiting to be back to normal. The studio & garage are a mess. Internal walls, ceilings blab blah boring blah. The exterior second floor - all wooden floors need to be resanded & vanished etc. The stairs between both levels - ruined & why, when the plumber installed the new hot water cylinder, his brain must have gone on holiday. However, it is what it is & with what's happening in other regions of the world, I can not complain. We are dry and tbh, I'm becoming very found of the shabby chic ceiling and walls of my entrance way. It has a lived in loved feeling. Warm regards Astar
Jesse, are you on Instagram? I've just posted + mention the train @Hakone Japan. It's on the itinerary. 👏 thank you for the tip. Astar
Beautiful ! I always look forward to your videos much love and hope all is well ❤🌹
"Astar, I Love the green & white combination of Hydrangeas & the brown of the twisted willow. I don't know why the poor hydrangea, has an old fashioned reputation, & is known as 'Granny flowers'. I think hydrangeas are Gorgeous!!💋. Your arrangement looks Full & Fabulous!!"
💋💕🌹
Hi Elizabeth, I absolutely agree with you as well. Did you know that the hydrangea is referred to as the grandmother of all the flowers? Maybe that's why they are referred to as old fashioned. If I still look as good as they do at such a ripe age, then I'll be very happy with life. Kind regards Astar
@@AstarsPlace "Astar🌹my Lovely, you're like good wine🍷..... You just get better, & better with age. You are Fabulous Darling!!!"💋💕🌹
Where can I get the hydrangeas?
Just refreshingly Beautiful & Clean!
Melissa, tbh I think that greens & whites are the best visual combination that never fail to please. Warm regards Astar
@@AstarsPlace I so agree!! :)
My daughter is getting married in 6 weeks and has asked me to do her wedding flowers using faux flowers. Many of the businesses in our area are declaring bankruptcy so she has pleaded with me to do them. She loves magnolias so I'd like to do her bouquet and magnolia flowers. She has eight bridesmaids and their dress color is a deep purple/wine. She is on a tighter budget because of the situation with the florist. I have managed to get some white stefanotis, lavender peonies, deep purple lilacs, several types of greens, lavender sprays, and various small white flowers to name a few. Any help you can give would be so greatly appreciated.
Oh my gosh! Those are faux? They look fantastic! I would love to know a good source for buying
Try www.prestigebotanical.com, www.winwardsilks.com, Michael's, Esty etc. They all have an amazing selection. Hope this helps, Astar
Where can I purchase those flowers from.
