Lets look again at the Modern Mass Flower Arrangement-FLORISTRY/FLOWER ARRANGING-Italian Mass Design

  • A few weeks ago I looked at the Italian or Modern Mass, a design inspired by Italian design and architecture. Mass designs require large, bold, round flowers instead of line, filler and transitional materials.
    This arrangement follows patterns and structure to make a formal design with the container being an integral part of the flower design. Inspiration should be taken from Italian culture and design and this type of design is ideal for interpretative design or grand statement pieces.
    If you are new to arranging, take a few minutes to view my Back to Basics series which will explain how to create lots of basic geometric shapes

    Don't get discourage at times, if people tend not to be following tutorial frequently. It's just so many out there and like me who is a novice, would be perusing up and down hopefully looking for the most practical and easy explanation of tutorials fundamentals for beginners. But like me being curious we tend to go back to who we can understand. And I find that you're in leagues with honorable mention group of good teaching tutorials who makes this craft for beginners simple and straight forward with lots of explanation. Great Job!

But do enjoy pretty tea parties! I'm from the Bahamas we have a lot of sun and humidity up here. My Mom is the green thumb. Didn't know I had it in me was never really interested in floristry. Hi there, I would suggest using dry foam to arrange your flowers into, not sure if you already know that. Keep the flowers low and narrow, so the wind doesn't blow it over. Does that help at all?

    Hi Sharon, thank you for your lovely videos. Any tips on how to work with lillies. Is it preferable to buy already opened for church arrangements or is it ok to have buds in the arrangement?
    Timing is so tricky: because if I buy on Friday (only buds no open flowers..) most are still closed on Sunday
    Thank you ☺

    • @sharondower
      @sharondower  2 роки тому +1

      Lilies need lots of light to get them to open. I think it a very subjective topic. If I was arranging them for a wedding then I would want them open for the day, but for a church I wouldn't worry too much as I would think they would last a lot longer if they were closed and be more value for money for the church. If you need them to open in time for Sunday, then you need to buy them earlier in the week.

    I usually get supermarket flowers, and foliage is sometime a problem. Something using wire would be lovely. Do we still have to keep to 3, 5 ,7 or 9 flowers ? Thank you very much .x

    • @sharondower
      @sharondower  2 роки тому +1

      Odd numbers usually work well but its not essential if you are learning. Modern floristry follows a different set of rules which follows the Fibonacci sequence of numbers, so 1's and 2's can be used too. If you're limited to supermarket flowers, just use the ones that you have in the package.

      Afternoon, I think you have a few options, colours that match the surroundings, interior, soft furnishings etc or cool, relaxing colours like white, blue and green or really vibrant colours like red, orange and yellow. Go for paler colours if you want to create serenity or bright clashing colour to create motivation and energy.
