Aust. 7 Day Weather: Rain, snow, frosts & showers
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 чер 2024
- A series of low pressure zones around the southern edge of Australia will bring rain, snow and showers to the south-eastern corner of the nation, along with rain into dry WA, SA, VIC, TAS and some parts of NSW.
The colder air goes all the way up to Queensland bringing frosts at higher elevations, including just near Brisbane inland (Toowoomba for eg).
We track the various lows and cold fronts over the coming 7 days - along with the 7 day Australia Rainfall Map.
Our Flight Sim place of the day today is Kalgoorlie in WA and the Super Pit mine. - Розваги
Thank you Phil and Team ⚡️🇦🇺
Hey Phil, you give a better forecast than the mainstream media here. The ACT and Canberra barely rate a mention in the national forecasts. You got Kalgoorlie spot on. Cheers mate.
Thanks heaps! Love the comment and appreciate the words :) Phil
Ditto for Tasmania!
Thanks from Brisbane. Got me ugg boots on! Lived in Toowoomba for a while, does get quite chilly up there
Come on Phil, you forgot to say what the forecast is for Gulargambone again, I will forgive you this time though..😂😂😂
Seriously though, I’ve been telling people how in-depth your weather forecasting is..
as I say to them, if you want to know what the weather for the next week is going to be than just watch the weather forecast on the news each night, but if you want to know what the weather is for the next week is and why it’s going to be like it is than watch your channel..
I do the ventilation for an underground mine here in Australia and I use this channel as one of my tools for managing gases as it gives me a “heads up” on what changing atmospheric pressures that maybe heading my way and when those expect the changes ..
Before I possibly give you a video forecast help me out with the correct way of pronouncing your place name?!!
Awesome about your job - that's an amazing gig you've got. We're trying to raise capital to launch in Australia - take a look at our RuralWeather.co.nz website here in NZ and tell me if that data would be even more helpful. We're trying to fund more public data because (in NZ anyway) their business model is all about commercialism rather than truly helping people.... they commercialise public data for starters. Your job would need good data - and we buy our forecast data from the most accurate source on earth (The Weather Company) - so once we launch in Aussie we'll be challenging BoM directly to do better - and focus more on severe weather and less on daily forecasts.
@@WeatherWatchTV I don’t live at Gul (as in sea Gull) arg- am - bone., it’s a very small farming town in NSW (population about 400) , i chose Gulargambone as a bit of a dig at the people wanting an obscure location where they live mentioned and Gulargambone is pretty obscure..😂😂.
people don’t understand how difficult it is to please all the people all the time , having a social media channel would be hard enough without people putting you on blast over the smallest of things..keep up the good work, you do an awesome job ..👍😀
Thankyou Phil for the 7 day forecast!
Here in the western side of the Sydney basin it was only 10.3 degrees at midday so I am really freezing. I have washing to dry so I have put the aircon on for 30 minutes & I can feel it taking the extreme chill of my room so I am starting to thaw out a bit. Those living in the snowy mountains will be jumping for joy as they rely on the snowfields to make their living. So I am glad for them but not for the rest of us!! Wouldn't be so bad if the electricity wasn't so expensive to use!! Thankfully the shortest day is around the corner & then we can look forward to spring coming with longer warmer days - we hope!! Kalgoorlie/boulder always getting small quakes, thanks for the view as I can now see why they get the quakes with mining in the area on a large scale like that!!
Oh wow that's amazing about the small quakes - although must admit I was surprised how hilly it was from there southwards. Didn't say Boulder despite seeing it - what's the history behind the double name (English vs Aborigine?). Or something else.
Really appreciate your comment :) Phil
I think it is cos the two towns have merged due to residential sprawl
First time watching videos for australia weather.
Looking forward going to brisbane on Monday. I take a umbrella with me.
Thx for the best weather reports in Oz. Cheers 👍
Thank you very much for the kind comment :)
Cheers Philip & co
Thanks!
Thanks Phil more rain woohoo🎉🎉🎉 if we don’t get it for the next two months the outlook would be pretty grim, but it looks pretty good for all our farmers and city folk. Absolutely fabulous🥂🥂👍
Thanks mate , Spencer Gulf South Oz 🇦🇺👌
The best show❤️👍❤️
Hi Phil I live in murray bridge South Australia and we only have 3.8 mill's of rain over night and it's fine again today
We're near Callington and only had 1.5mms ...
@@QuestionThingsUseLogic Shows the hit and miss nature of these borderline systems
Yeah it's frustrating when you're "in the blue" in the rain graphics as it means some rain/showers, but usually not enough to really make a dent.
@@WeatherWatchTV yeah, we're in the foothills only 30 minutes from Murray Bridge, which is further inland. Lol.
Thank you! Best weather forecast out there!
Brilliant as usual, thanks Phil. From near Toowoomba is pretty cold and dry.
Thanks from East Gippsland
I did 8 years tour of duty working for Toyota , the storms out there are fantastic and the storms at night are beautiful to watch .
Great report Phil. Looks like being a 'proper' winter this year.
You wouldn't think where I live in CQ was actually tropical. lol Someone reported a minus 2 the other day. The sweet potato agrees, looking very wilted.
Agree - nothing like a "real" winter to make you love life! :)
Hey, thanks, Phillip .
Yep, we had a frost at Toowoomba yesterday morning .dry static day.
500mtrs above sea level eastern side great deviding range. Atherton tablelands down to Victoria.
Kiora
Well, we're feeling it here in Toowoooomba alright 😅 By the way, there are quite a lot of people living in Toowoomba and surrounds. We're basically joined all the way to Brisbane with farms and smaller centres, not to mention the other inland towns and cities around us like Warwick, Dalby, Pittsworth Kingaroy/Nanango. Any time you mention Toowoomba's weather, you're also proving valuable information to a heck of a lot of other people in the area. It's really helpful and much appreciated 👍
Thanks Phil, great report as usual. Much better than we get here in Australia. And a lot more comprehensive. Sadly, we in south-western Victoria are having the drought we never have as BOM refuse to acknowledge droughts even though we have had very low rainfall for the past 5 months. Hopefully this new low will finally bring us some much needed rainfall.
A great weather channel here on YT, no audio-visual frippery, all of the good things that people write & a good vibe from the presenter overlay's entirety, in (an) other word(s): Anointed
Even when I butcher the pronunciation of a local town name?! (and thank you!)
Langkoop is getting excited! Thanks
Thankyou once again WW and Phil,, well we will need a little rain for the tank. You all stay safe and see you on the next forcast.. Cheers Chris ( Miriam Vale CQ Queensland)
Country Vic was -3°C yesterday morning and only got up to about 8°C during the day, but the sun was warm. Very cold! 🥶
Take it that means "high country"?. Yeah if +1 in populate places then -1 to -8 could be expected elsewhere. Man I wish we could launch our Frost forecaster in Aussie (we have it in NZ). I'm so sure it will be better than BoM (not to attack them as I do very much respect them).
Thanks awesome WW team! Brrr wee bit chilly here today, overcast. Chilly nights 4C Cheers from Mallanganee nsw.
How do you say Mallanganee - can you please spell it out how you say it? I always see it and have googled it but still not 100%! :)
@@WeatherWatchTV Mallang gan ee! I hope that helps 😉😁 such a cute wee town, a pub camping park, footy oval, general store and mechanic!
Got down to -6.2 degrees in Canberra.
Ouch! When was that?
@@WeatherWatchTV Wednesday morning at Canberra airport. It’s actually not all that unusual for Canberra. Record low is -10.
Western tassie been a bit nippy🥶😳
No doubt! Whereabouts are you?
@@WeatherWatchTV strahan😊
I live in Toowoomba. It’s known throughout Queensland for being a cold place 😉
Great comprehensive report as usual, - thanks so much.
Thanks heaps Lex
You called it Launnie! Wow!!! Thank you!
🔥🔥🔥👍🔥🔥🔥
Just as well I love the cold , cheers Phil and team from the A.C.T .
You just like Stews
@@CJArnold-hq3ey Yes of course I do , who doesn't he is very sexy.
Next update 27/6/24
The middle "woom" in Toowoomba is pronounced using the "oo" from "look". So it sounds a bit like "wuhm". In contrast the first "too" is like the number 2. 😅 gotta love it.
Gutted I got it wrong - don't want to be the "foreigner" screwing it up when trying to be more local!
Thank you SO much for clarifying. Tah-wuhm-bah (that good?).
btw - NZers are FAMOUS for saying words as they look.
@WeatherWatchTV yeh that's pretty good. I reckon most people probably wouldn't have noticed it but a native ear got it. You're doing well with the place names. The effort is noticed and appreciated!
Don't get me to pronounce anything written in Maori. About all I know is the Wh has a F sound, and I get lost after that.
Hi Phil, Adelaide forecast from BOM was for 10 to 20mm over the last 2 days. Actually had 3mm. Getting very worried about an approaching drought. Especially as the BOM put out their long range forecast for very dry winter and spring.
Hopefully some wet weather on the way again for you soon. Cold front moving into Esperance WA on Saturday PM, should reach you by Mon/Tue
@@WeatherWatchTV Thanks Phil. Appreciate your reply.
Hi Philip great reporting.
Very kind, thank you Jack(it up)
Got down to 1.4º in the Melbourne CBD and as low as -4.4º in some of the far outer suburbs a couple of nights ago, just a bit chilly at the moment
Thanks for the udpdate!
Mount Gambier misses out on rain again
Are you from there? So awesome if you are - be wanting to "meet" someone from there! :) (but yeah sorry, maybe not a lot, but something...)
Thanks Phil, I can rely on your predictions compared to BOM
Thank you!!
Thanks Phil we only got 6mm in Adelaide over the past 24 hours unfortunately.
Better luck Mon/Tue.
👍😁
You almost got the name right. It's Toowoomba, but good effort.
Yes, I laughed a bit at that poor effort...but to be fair, I think he usually gets it right.
I HATE getting place names wrong - my sincere apologies, always sounds so bad when a foreigner butchers a local name. Can you let me know where I went wrong please?! I'm a fast learner :)
@@em945 Oh no! *blushes*
@@WeatherWatchTV it was your second 'oo'....expressed as RooM or GRooM.
But it is pronounced the same as a shorter o , like WoMAN.
It sounds very much like Wommera in SA.
Two- wom- ba.
I am sure I have heard you nail it before.
@@em945 Yes I have! So, wondered about even doing a video about this but too weird in the current format, but learning place names takes me much more time than learning Australian weather. But I love geography and I spend every day trying to improve my already fairly good Maori - but Aborigine vowels are very different. Need to work them out!!
I’m over the winter cold in Victoria and it’s only the middle of June. Any longer forecast of what we might be in store for?
Hi Phil,
We live east of the ranges on the Goyders line in SA and only have received 12mm in the past week and about 38mm for the whole of this year. Still no opening rain for the drier areas of SA. It's great to see the lows coming through from WA, but for us to get anything significant, they need to track through higher up with NW winds instead of W and SW winds. Would the low that will go through WA in a week's time track higher through SA and be more of a widespread rain?
Hard to know at the moment - these borderline systems mean precision is really critical and that far out it's harder to lock in sorry.
No no. Not happening. There’s global boiling going on, and the BoM says we’re having a warm summer.
Going to guess you're a male and over 50 years old.
Kind regards, mid 40s male.
Why is NZ not included into the States of Australia that will need nuclear power plant by 2050
Basically no-one wants to be the first place taken out in our next war. Not to mention any nuclear meltdowns. By the time they finish building the things they won't be needed, as renewables will be a fraction of the cost. And they've already become the cheapest option. The whole thing is a stunt to get votes. Even Dutton knows it's economic stupidity.
