This is gonna be a blast...
From what I've heard of WoH, the game (PC version at least) will be encouraging mod support upon its official release. So I hope everyone is ready for talented fans to recreate Junji Ito stories such as _The Enigma of Amigara Fault,_ _Tomie,_ or even _Uzumaki_ in this engine en masse.
While I'm (cautiously) hype for this, mods are entirely dependent on the writing, art and modding skill of the authors. that being said Tomie or Oshikiri's haunted house series would lend themselves to videogame format really well.
@@brunovega6479Good news! The modding community is pretty good! Bad news, new update broke custom enemies and custom characters require the chibi, reason/stamina loss portraits.
I love it, it captures everything I love about horror.
If it involves a public school restroom, then yes, pure horror indeed.
This is basically the top recommended horror to me at the moment on Steam, I think I'll pick it up.

Desvegetarianizado I know :) Your comment reminded me that i saw it on gamepass(pc). I don’t have gamepass on pc at the moment though and i preordered the game on steam that’s why i did not even know it would come out on gamepass.

Looks sooo good overall, but the low resolution and lack of shading style with the ton of info on the screen messed with my head a lot. I cant focus of whats going on and grasp what im seeing at times
This layout and system is what I've been trying to figure out how to make. I love seeing it's at least possible to create.

This game is on game pass for PC for anybody who didn't know. Definitely worth checking out at least if you already have game pass.
Oh man, days after playing, I heard the soundtrack play through my head each night I went to bed. The subtle beeps and boops stuck with me as much as any of the horror in the game. So happy to play it on occasion
I was curious, but after seeing you can adjust the color scheme, my sensitive eyes are stoked.

I actually played a lil bit of this during PAX East this year! It was super interesting, the 8-bit style and music def gave that weird sense of atmosphere I like in horror games ( though I am a complete wuss when it comes down to it) I died cause I didn’t really know what I was doin but just exploring and seeing the different monsters was super cool

As other commenters already mentioned, this game will have mod support, which means - adapting all your favourite horror stuff right into this game! So potentially infinite replay value

I like the mechanics adapted from tabletop games, they add a lot of replayability to what would otherwise be simple stories

I literally just found this game on steam like an hour ago, what a coincidence!
Spent so many hours in this game. About to try out all the community created mods.
It seems like it would be really good for online multiplay where you could investigate and fight terrors separately and together and work towards common goals... Kinda like Arkham/Eldritch Horror.
Took a glance at the thumbnail and I was like "well this certainlly looks like something a certain manga artist would make" lol, definitly going to check this one out

I wish more horror games did this, like you don't have a magguffin that will instantly make you OP or a special ability that would make things easy. Just a normal (if you consider opposing ancient gods normal) human being fighting to solve lovecraftian shenanigans.

I felt unpleasant sensations from this game and this is a good quality for the games in horror genre. This was not fear, but rather excitement and tension from what was happening. But what is certainly a strong and attractive side of this game, in addition to unusual, creepy images, is the depth and flexibility of the game process, only for this you want to immerse yourself in the passage completely. And of course, the enchanting voice, the way of thinking and feeling that you expressed this game, Sophie, left only a sheer pleasure from the review. Keep it up, have an unique experience and pure enjoy of process Sophie.

Ooooo. Somehow I got nostalgia watching this. But how I ask is such a thing possible for something I have never played? A fun new experience (shaded by the past).
The first mission is pretty good, that's all I've played. The art and stories are obvious inspirations from Junji Ito which makes the game worth it in the end on its own.
It's also on Xbox Game Pass for PC!!
I played this game and love it, but i couldn't play for long since I don't know if its the art style or something else but my eyes would start hurting really quicklly

Does the game have any kind of jumpscare? That really throws me off whenever playing an horror game.
The only actual jump scare I've found after 20 hours of play is when you tab back into the game after a certain time of it being minimized, and even then it wasnt that bad.
There's 3, but they're not that bad. One is an event you get while investigating a school that's a spooky face slowly appearing in the window and pretty much going "boo". The other is during an event you have an option of searching a cupboard (and something else that I forgot) and if you fail the skill check a ghost woman appears at the side of a screen for a split second. Another person mentioned the last one.
