About the chain conversion, could you give more info about where to get it and how to install. I’m also curious about how it changed the sound of the bike. Probably it is quieter.
Dirty Bikes ultra bee chain conversion. It sounds about the same. I used a video they have for the light bee, it’s saved to ultra bee playlist on my UA-cam page.
Cool video, just got mine a couple weeks ago and have already done the kke 21/18 wheels. Are you running the stock battery with the ebmx? Is it worth the price?
Yes, the stock battery and EBMX 9000 is definitely worth it. I ran stock controller for about a month and it made a huge difference. Allows you to go from 12.5 kw to 17.5kw. Also can increase phase amps etc. EBMX will guide you on a tune for your bike, riding style, etc., very helpful.
Alot of great info thank you for sharing. The brake disc was interesting to me i think that's a great upgrade if you have the link for that please share. Additionally i was wondering did you mess up the original brake disc just from regular braking? Or was it because you hit some kind of rock?
www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/tusk-stainless-steel-typhoon-brake-rotor-front-p I bent the rear rotor on rocks and the front started getting hot and squealing in the fast stuff.
Thanks! Its this one, actually selling it on eBay as I did a 85 fork swap. www.ebay.com/itm/135109819354?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Lck7Y9jIR8e&sssrc=2051273&ssuid=Lck7Y9jIR8e&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
How easy is it to access the reverse function with the EBMX setup vs stock? Do you find yourself using the reverse? Have a TX300i right now, but seriously considering adding an UB to the fleet.
It is supposed to be 20% lighter than the belt system. I didn’t weigh it. I had good battery performance on first ride with it but I also added some lighter parts so…
What kind of mileage are you getting with just kind of regular trail riding? Would it make a full loop at barnwell do you think? Budget wise are you with the upgrades I imagine your close to a regular bike? PS.... I think the gold looks pretty sick on it. Also, I assume can you swap out the springs if your "girthy individual"? Asking for a friend that likes cheese burgers. ;-)
Could ride all of Barnwell on a charge, including the rock crawler hillls, getting 30+ miles on a charge, easily. Bike cost $6500 and I put about $2000 in it, so $8500. New KTM run you $12,000. Multiple spring upgrades available. I went from 450 to 500lb. I weigh 165.
@@keepupwithajones Yep.... That is the reason I'm on a gas gas now. Was a solid amount less than the KTM and for the 22 year it was the exact same bike (Brembro and all) That is a pretty cool deal for sure.
Much easier to ride. Lighter, but feels much lighter than it actually is. The instant linear power is very predictable and really good from beginning to end. It’s a bit shorter from wheel to wheel so you have to get over the front a little more on hill climbs, but it will climb anything from a dead stop at bottom of hill. Once you learn throttle control you don’t miss the clutch. Power is all there all the time. I’m on a 300 XC right now, waiting on my Dust Moto to be built. I miss my Ultra Bee. 300 is great for trips though as the full gas tank is still gonna outlast a battery charge.
Id love to know the total weight of the display and controls removed. Planning a similar build and mine is closer to 210 lbs. I dont see where you can get below 200 or even close to it.
What front tire are you running? Could you link the uk fella you got the trimmed down bump stops from? Last question, does it still power wheelie with the 50t sprocket, noticeable torque loss?
Dunlop MX 54. Bump stops from facebook.com/alexander.vercoelen , Still easily wheelie on the 50t. I could tell it lost a small amount of torque but not enough to limit performance on hill climbs, pivot turns, wheelies etc. Only really noticable difference was the increase in top speed, which is what I was hoping for.
@@keepupwithajones Awesome. Thank you for the reply here man. You have the best feedback for these ultra bees on youtube in my opinion excellent set up and video. Yours is identical how I want mine! - Good to hear the hill climb performance was not affected. That was my largest concern.

thanks for the info
did you upgrade the brake pads? if so what did you go with
No, but I did put new OEM pads with the new rotors.
How easy is it to access the reverse function with the EBMX setup vs stock? Do you find yourself using the reverse? Have a TX300i right now, but seriously considering adding an UB to the fleet.
Easy as a click on the thumb controller. And I use it a lot!
Any idea if that chain conversion has better battery range or makes more power than the belt?

Wow, impressive! What’s the weight as it is I wonder.
Still about 190 lbs as I have removed a lot of wiring/ un needed parts and swapped out some titanium parts.
How do these compare to a ktm 300 xcw or any xcw/exc model? I’ve owned a light bee x and currently own a 300xcw

Is that the original front fender? I really don't like the white one on mine and I'm considering buying a new one.
No, I changed it out to black, but it is an Ultra Bee fender. I also put spacers under the rear bolts to reposition it. Details in my first mod video.

I’m close to 220 now with bibs and 110 tire. It performs so good I don’t even notice it. Bike is unstoppable.
