You're welcome. If you are road riding, roller is too loud and offers no advantages. I thought about doing range test with dirt riding, but I just decided to settle on x-ring. I think it's a good compromise between maintenance and performance. I have a 54t ordered for dirt. I'm hoping for more range with larger sprocket.
My Niche X-Ring Chain sucks. Way too heavy IMO. Trying out a roller chain, just tested on the stand and I got 9mph more top speed. Trail testing it tomorrow.
I can believe that, it is heavier. The stand speed test is interesting, but I saw no difference on the road. I haven't had a chance to try out the trails yet.
@@MetalClub yes, I switched to a cheap roller chain, it wore out very quickly and needed constant adjustment after each ride. I'm sure if I bought a high quality, name brand chain, it would of been absolutely fine. I ended up switching to a high quality DID X ring chain (link to it is in my most recent video description) IMO roller chain would be fine if you ride on road and X ring will perform and last longer if you ride off road. Range difference is negligible.
Really appreciate this chain comparison, man. You helped me stick with my stock chain for now. Really preciate it. Ben
Thanks for the kind words. Yea there's a lot of misinformation about chains. The stock isn't bad at all.
Thank you for the comparison. I was debating between roller and x-ring for my new 58t sprocket

Any update on this @zekd? Adding a 54T to my ultra bee this weekend and was planning on this xring chain. Most ride train and single track. Thanks!

@zekd dude thank you!
I have also switched to a DID 520VX3GB. Really like it so far.
