They are shutting it down because they don’t want you to see that 600+ post thread that dates back to 2015 where players have been complaining about the same game breaking bug that deletes your lots, corrupts your save and triggers Error Code 800 and 801! They are trying to bury the threads and bugs they refuse to fix. The only reason they are fixing the overlapping festivals bug is because it happened to Lilsimsie during one of her streams, but that bug dates back several years.
Oh man I just started getting that error code 800!! So upsetting honestly, I didn't realise that is was such an old bug oh geez. That makes me sad, I was hoping it was something new so hopefully it would be more easily fixed :/
With this new website, and the way it seems to be better to understand what's really goin on with the bugs, I think.. it will be better for developers to deal with bugs and patch them quicker (and better for us to understand what's happening) But I'm also pretty excited too to try InZoi (even if I'm sure it will not be the same as playing The Sims as long as they don't really have the same objective)

I've seen a lot of people talk about using that to get it running, although I don't know if it's still compatible after the recent Sims 3 update. Or, make sure you have the newest update (it literally just came out), it was supposed to make the game compatible with newer hardware so maybe you haven't tried to open it since then?
This still feels like the wrong approach. Unless the glitch stops me loading the game, I still feel like the bug reporting should be accessible on the main menu of the game. It would be easier for players to pick up on bugs being reported by others, and it would automatically be able to populate the information that the devs would require like the computer the person uses and what packs they have, possible even let them drop in save files etc
That would be great, but they'd also have to implement that. Knowing EA and the Sims, the bug reporting would have bugs as well and where are you gonna report it, if you can't report your bugs? 😂
Imo this won't change anything. I don't trust EA not to ignore certain issues or straight up delete valid criticism of the game. They've already shown that they don't care about their users and i'm not surprised about this move after they stopped QA as well.

Thoroughly tired of the current beta version only getting worse as time goes by 😞 Doesn't really inspire confidence when they say they take bugs seriously and then plan to shut down the bug reporting feature (knowing their history of not replacing what they take away) and then plan a patch at the same time.
Meh, I only ever get to Answers HQ if it pops up on a Google Search when I'm looking to see if there are workarounds for a problem I have; as long as Google can search the forums for me the same way, I suppose it won't change anything from my perspective. That said, doing this at the same time they've got new kits coming out and a bug fix is a horrible idea. I realize that they probably have different teams working on all three things, but this is the sort of thing that calls for coordinating one's teams or it's going to turn into a nasty mess.
That's what forums are for. Old threads get ignored or locked, people get punished if they "resurrect" the threads, as per every forum's internal rules.
tldr: EA is making it more difficult than it already is to get any customer service/support. Insulating themselves more than they already are to avoid needing to listen to the consumers of their billion dollar games.
I’m surprised you guys don’t go to Reddit, I stopped playing for about two years at this point, but when I did have problems I went straight to Reddit.
Also, my SIL worked for blizzard and they let almost all of the tech and bug support go last spring and they’re just part of the horde of companies eliminating their help departments. Companies as a whole don’t seem to care about their customers. Just my opinion 😊

I think it's a good thing they are switching to this new website, but yeah the fact is I also hope we don't find any horrible bug making the game unplayable.
I don’t use Answers HQ if I can help it but I also haven’t used the forums in years either. I miss accessing the gallery from my phone though. I love looking at builds and often saved them for later download.
I could did NOT like usein Answers HQ anyways. They did NOT talk to people. I could NEVER get through to ask or talk about ANYTHING dealing with SIMS 4 or JUST SIMS. It was terrible. 👎👎👎
Oh god, the EA forums are terrible and almost unusable. Sure, it looks good, but all the features dont work properly, and it keeps logging you out. And its still so insanely SLOOOW. I think the real reason they are doing it is a lot of people were actively avoiding the EA forums after the closure of the seperate social forums like the Sims one and some even started using AHQ for thecsocial aspect (is always had social forums not just bug ones but they were dead) as while its clunky its a hell of a lot more usable than the EA forums. Talk about insult on top of injury. At least we still have reddit.
Hit em up on social media during migration I guess! They should hold off on any patches /updates they have scheduled until the migration is complete, checked for bugs, glitches then release the patches/updates - geez! This is not rocket science 🧬 but it seems like EA/SIMS can’t seem to get a hold of the process! The math ain’t mathing! 🤷🏽♀️
I dont frequent those sites very often, it doesn't matter. I have a profile in Answer HQ, yes I have but if they'll migrate to another forum, I just make a new profile. No problem.
@@idiocracydude Only on EA app. The update doesn't apply to steam. And : Steam was on 1.67 before the update, EA was on 1.69, so it's probably EA neglecting Sims 3 Steam.
I've been playing The Sims 3 since it's release in 2009. I got a gaming PC back in 2021 and have since then played action oriented games, RPG, MMO games and whatever my 2013 laptop was unfit to run. I decided to revisit Sims 3 recently and oml I have MISSED this game. The Sims 4 just feels so empty in comparison, I couldn't play more than 15 hours, I even bought it when it was released. I'm sure it would be more fun if I coughed up the money to buy all the game packs, expansions etc...but at its core, I do NOT like The SIms 4.
You make it sound like some crisis if they drop the packs and/or patch during the shutdown...its only a few days if someone has issues they'll live its not permanent.
Does anyone have the same problem with the graphics settings in Sims 4 I set it on the highest on everything now and later when I launch the game the graphics settings goes back to where it was with some low and no reflection at mirrors and water I don’t know if it’s a bug in the game?
You can report issues on the engine that you load the game from you just have to remind them that it Sims 4 was they won't know what game you're talking about the best way to get your complaints dealt with in fact is to go onto UA-cam and talk about him for the world to hear invisible men disappearing abductees
I think they chose the timing specifically because people won't be able to post about bugs during the release of all these patches and kits

I want to see support directly through the game. Not everyone knows about the forums to report bugs.
Glad I got Sims 1-3 working again. Excited for Paralives and InZoi. Honestly feel like a majority of issues we report don't get answered or resolved.
With this new website, and the way it seems to be better to understand what's really goin on with the bugs, I think.. it will be better for developers to deal with bugs and patch them quicker (and better for us to understand what's happening)

If you have a newer pc you probably need the intel alder lake patch. It's fan made so just Google it.
