I totally agree with the lack of men's CAS. it's not even about gender, but about aesthetics, we lack stylistically masculine things. Also feminine stuff transformed into a masculine frame is not the result of inclusivity, but laziness on EA's part.
I play with hypermasculine characters all the time. There's an extreme lack of masculine focus in the sims. I use almost the same ten hairstyles all the time, especially the Get Together DJ hair. I want the love pack to have leather daddy clothes and jockstraps honestly :P
Yes, the masculine aesthetic. That's a good way to put it. I started looking through cc lately and seeing how NICE the man clothes look compared to the clothes provided is just sad. It's a reason I always play as a woman. Sure, I'm a woman too, but I've tried playing as a guy and I get bored with the clothes very quickly.
fr like what about even masc women for gods sake? there's no masc aesthetic in the entire game. and i agree. if they want to be inclusive they should be transforming the clothing fully to properly fit all body types-not just slapping the mesh overtop of a body type it doesn't fit on. Also-inclusivity includes respecting masculine people, cis or otherwise. you can't just not include "men" and then say you're being inclusive.
true i always end up making them look like funky dads in their 40s/nerdy/"fancy fashionable" because i cant make one good looking plain and basic i have a lot of cc for men but most of it is also korean/japanese inspired or retro/vintage lol
Bugs don't feel like a common occurrence. Bugs ARE a common occurrence. You cannot get through a single sim day without 1 bug or stupid AI interaction. Examples: Someone in university housing keeps making Lobster Thermidor and leaving them on the back of the toilets. Then another one appears. And Another. Then they all spoil, because no one wants to eat uni bathroom lobster.
As someone who started with sims 3 though, sims 4 is only a nuisance in comparison. Sims 3 had so much lag, there were so many glitch bugs and I remember being frustrated a lot cause my game would have a major glitch and I would need to start all over again because my save was unplayable. Sims 4 glitches are common but they are only annoying and I've never really had to delete a save because of them. But I also had a worse laptop playing sims 3 than I did playing sims 4.
I think that with the sims 3, the two packs that have made my computer slower were pets and island paradise. Without them my game ran smoothly (but again, that’s with a newer laptop, on my older desktop the glitches showed up far more often). I had to stop playing the sims 4 because it would not work. At all. My sims will freeze, straight up ignore what I tell them to do, etc. I’ve tried going back multiple times over the past 3 years, but it gets worse each time. Could be from newer packs my cousin buys, though. Again, that’s only from my personal experience with the two in more recent years.
15:00 I agree with you on the feminine/masculine filters! People should wear whatever they want, but those labels become useless if clothes aren't tagged properly. Maybe a unisex tag could help if they don't know if an item is feminine or masculine, but idk...
The problem with the male/female frame is that the wire mesh for the sims themselves are quite different. Thus any unisex item is actually two different items. Try using any of the male outfit in a female sim or visa versa, you'll see what I mean. Making all outfits unisex will be an herculean task (and we all know EA...)
@@p.bckman2997 Yes, I've tried that before and it indeed doesn't work well unfortunately :( EA indeed probably won't put the effort in, so a 'unisex' category is therefore not really a solution, but I don't think what they're doing now is any better. The lowest effort solution for them is probably to just mind putting the most fitting tags in the future, but I also feel like that would exclude masculine framed sims from using any feminine clothing because of the weird shaping issue... It's difficult, idk what the best solution would be that EA could be willing to provide 🤔
being a sims player who mostly does CAS and sometimes builds it is more difficult to make Male sims good looking since much of the *masculine* wear looks really bad or straight up too femenine for my liking so I end up making more Female sims as a result.
Look at the clothes they're releasing for Lovestruck. More non masculine clothes. They just don't give a crap. There are plenty of clothes for gay male sims already. 🤦🏽
Me too but it’s bc I’m a noob. I want to be good at building but it literally drives me nuts.. I can renovate pretty good. Are you interested in multiplayer mode? I hope they go that route.
I play the most, but I also like making sims (if it is not for a legacy challenge) Building is the part of the game I am not a fan of. I do not call myself a noob, but I just have more playing and doing something in CAS.
I’m pretty terrible at building, I’ve built a couple of nice things when I’ve been inspired but usually I’m crap 😂 I’m excited to play with Sach’s newcrest save where he partially built all the lots 😍
Same it takes forever and takes up my time playing the game. I only play for four hours and too spend all of that just building.... seems like a waste. I wish i was a better builder though 😭
@@NoobSimmerKPI’ve been playing since Sims 1 and I do far more renovating than building from scratch. Especially houses. To me the game is the playing not the building, so while I admire a good builders work (in all versions of the game) and I like that I CAN change nearly anything I want in a home or community lot space, I prefer already existing structures that I renovate. Plus I like the idea of things growing naturally through gameplay anyway with little things added here and there as I get to know the Sim and live their life.
My unpopular sims 4 opinion: I don’t like Seasons. Not only should we not have to pay for WEATHER, every single sim is scared of thunder, why is every sim the same for fears?? and it’s so inconvenient and annoying. Same with cold and hot etc. and not planting plants whenever. The only thing I like is the holidays, the calendar isn’t even season exclusive anymore and that’s the main reason I got it! Yall, it doesn’t even have A WORLD! It’s an expansion pack aka the most expensive pack category. I don’t see how lil Simsie recommends it to new players
Oh my god yes thunderstorms. Why is absolutely everyone afraid of them! When I see/hear thunder I think its pretty cool. But thunder is rather deadly in S4 so maybe that's why?
While Seasons features gameplay that should be included (let’s face it no one can argue that), it is not included in the base game. So I think Simsie has a right to recommend it because it is essential to everyday life.
my friend recommended me to get seasons above any other pack when i was fairly new. I bought it and hated it. why did i just pay for rain? and now my sims are upset all the time and die of heatstroke because they're too dumb to go inside.
@@Katzy_hmno hate to simsie i don't know their channel and don't dislike this person. However I will say id rather just play without most the stuff seasons comes with. the actual weather itself is the only thing i really love, and my sims constantly glitch and insist on going outside in the 110 degree heat and try to die 😂 I get what you mean with the basic life part, but honestly im just not even sure if your game needs it the way it was implemented.
other life sims wont kill the sims, but I think the sims might kill itself with project rene. It happened with sim city and the first sim city came out before the sims even existed, and it was very popular, so I think it could happen with the sims.
Sim City also had another game that came out that did it better and did all of the things EA insisted couldn't happen: Cities: Skylines; it was a perfect storm that killed EA's game. If ProjRen is as awful as it looks like it's going to be _and_ one of the other games coming out comes out about the same time and is excellent, then, yup, EA will off the franchise themselves.
They had Sims online already, and it was wild, and they had to shut it down. There was player-made extortion rings, blackmail, prostitution, mafia/gangs etc... some of it crossed over into the real world. With minors playing too, it was nasty.
It's a shame because without mods, sims 4 is generally a bad game. Mods are what entertain me in the sims 4, and I think EA failed in terms of sim 4 because the mods add SO MUCH gameplay that's actually needed.
I agree. Been playing the sims since 3. Bought 4 1 year BEFORE release. As gay NOT FEM guy that plays the sims 4 with multiple households, I can sit here for hours making female clothing and outfits. Most of my male sims dress the same thanks to LACK of male sim clothing. Had to get a few mods for male clothing. 😅😅😅
I literally play matriarchal legacies because masculine cas is so awful. I haven't even been able to solve the problem with cc...I want the opposite of trendy...regular jeans, trousers, some button down shirts, and normal tees...the kind of stuff every guy in my life wears.
Do not forget about them using animations repeatedly instead of creating new ones. That could be he reason for some of the glitching. The pausing on high speed. And I have been having trouble with items doubling on my sims action que without adding them. Build mode was something I was proud of, but not anymore.
Bought it. Played it for 35 minutes. Disabled and haven't played it since. It's so stupid that I can't see all thr sims and still have to go through load screens to see any neighbors. Horrible and usless pack.
@@Loralanthalas i recommend you to build like a small neighbourhood on one lot. Just make like 4 houses (adjust their size to the lot size u choosing ofc, to fully use the space you got there and make it fun and nice looking) and move ur sim/sims into one of the house, then rent another houses on that lot for other families. Make sure your lot has some "community zone", with grill maybe, swimming pool, some benches, chess. Then make sure to introduce ur sim to other sims living on the same lot with u and then just like that, without loading screens u can make ur sim spend time with other sims, because they will often come to swim, grill, play chess next to, so the game feels less "lonely", as there is always some sim walking on your lot and its more fun this way imo. If u are not a builder, use the gallery and trust me, there are so many cool lots which u can use for ur gameplay (just as i do :D) Thats how i started to play, since i got disappointed and annoyed from loading screens and these boring landlord events. I hope it will help u at least a bit to have some fun with this half cooked dlc. For example im planning soon to build for myself some sort of small city, on the biggest lot, do there like gym as a shared zone, bowling, "cinema", bar, and few houses, so that way i can add other sims living on the same lot to the group and make them exercise together etc, without loading screens and pretend that they are on real gym lot. Hopefully these sims will also automatically use gym objects on their own, but i didnt test it yet, so i cant rly say, but at least u can make them exercise with u as a group, so thats something! Also i think that could be fun to make a small village on the biggest lot, build few cottages, put there like a big plant area, add chickens and cows to it, and just enjoy village/medieval life with no technology :D
14:38 it works like this because the masculine and feminine tags actually refer to the 2 different frames that the models are designed for, so feminine-style clothes in the masculine tag are made around the masculine frame and are inherently different than giving a masculine framed sim clothes designed around the feminine frame (which can often cause visual glitches/warping)
16:58 They're no doing anything in those updates except purposely breaking mods. Bugs aren't getting fixed, so that's not what the updates are for, they're not adding new stuff, etc etc, so the only reason for the constant updates is to break mods and frustrate the modding community.
I completely agree. When they announced they will update more often I was frustrated. My game works fine. Mods fix everything and every time they patch it’s worse and a modder has to fix it. Sims 5 will be an absolute end to sims franchise and all the you tube yes men and toxic community that defends it is just as guilty for it as EA. Every time I hear a game is Multiplayer especially when made by large companies as EA I stay away. It will be a money pit with very little return.
If you want a mod you never have to change, play a game a developer is no longer supporting. - literally mods. EA is fixing stuff on PS5. Sorry your mods are screwing with your game as the developers fix it.
@@Loralanthalas I really just want vanilla S4 to work properly, 100%, not 80 or 50. And I actually want to invest in more packs, but I will not buy something that's cracked or broken.
I can agree with you on playing with less mods because of updates. I have a life than sit there and sort which mods are broken and etc. I like to just open and play my game in peace.
@@jsg_ I could only imagine. I don’t have much but I always just take them out and start fresh . I have all the packs so I don’t download a lot of mods or cc .
well i mean quite alot of people said fuck you to the SimCity for Cities Skylines soooo if there was good enough life sim game, i have no doubts people would say fuck you to the sims and EA
SimsCity 2013 crashed of its own accord. People were willing to leave it without a known alternative IMMEDIATELY. And it was more CitySkylines was discovered by said frustrated fanbase after they’d already said ‘nope’ and moved on to play other games. That hasn’t happened with Sims 4. People have stuck for 10 years now. Some Sims 4 players are more like addicts in that they want something else but refuse to jump ship until ‘An alternative exist’. No, you can just leave like now. There may not be a perfect 1:1 swap in for the Sims but there are other simulation style games and other games in general so I think if folks took a little simulation game flirt out there in the world, they’d be surprised what they’d find that already exist. Or just try Sims 3 even. Open world, cars, etc.
The problem is, not every player can afford a high-end computer to play Inzoi, not to mention the horrible uncanny valley effect that is turning off so many people, reminds me of bad GTA animation
I just really really really DO NOT LIKE Alexander Goth's makeover. I'm sorry but they did him so dirty! I like Cassandra's makeover. And I agree with you on the other townies' refreshes. It's just not really good at all.
Alex is such a cute kid, and then they did him dirty when he was a teenager😭(for future reference to any Karens, I mean Alex was adorable, not anything inappropriate like some b's would assume)
I always start off my Sims plays with big plans but then inevitably end up just trying to keep them alive. idk how people get into eventful experiences and fun scenarios. Also, I'm not a builder, but I really enjoy your builds, theyre relaxing. :)
I couldn't agree more when it comes to mods! I literally went back to playing the Sims 3, cause I was fed up with having to update every little mod (without which the sims 4 would be boring af) after any update...
Mine is that we do NOT need an open world. Why yes, I do believe that going to a neighbor's house SHOULDN'T require a loading screen, i feel like the whole word doesn't need to be open world, especially with the graphics we have
I agree. I think the sims 3 had much simpler meshes and fewer items in each house so they could have an open world. If we want open worlds we would need to sacrifice our build modes. But I don't think we'll get an engine overhaul like we need, so if I had to choose only one from three options: load screens vs open world vs detailed build/buy, I'd pick build buy every time. However I super hope paralives and other games help to come up with ideas to make the game more flexible. Like I could see people be able to change their settings on how to load neighborhoods and when to load assets. (Basically when do you want to slow down your computer.) the sims can't be bothered to make commands customizable, so they'll never do it without competition. (Also, I hope they don't just abandon the game when the competition is released)
Agree! I remember owning all the packs for Sims 3 and it becoming soooo laggy. They already have to really dumb down Sims 4 so that lots run on basic computers so I can only imagine how terribly dumbed down it’d have to be to run on basic computers if it was open world.
@@steggopotamus You have to consider that sims 3 came out in 2009 and was low key poorly optimized, modern games do open world all the time without much issue. It just needs great optimization for it work, something I don't trust EA in doing right. But there's really no reason to not have an open world in a modern life simulation game, atleast not from a performance perspective.
Totally agree. Also. We shouldn’t automatically have access to ALL worlds in each save file, it just impacts the game performance negatively bc the game ALWAYS has to load EVERY world and EVERY lot and EVERY townie and that for EVERY save file. It also makes travelling and vacation extremely unnecessary. We needed a correct open neighbourhood system and each world having at LEAST 5-7 neighbourhoods (that vary in size and lot number/size).
I agree with you about the masculine category stuff. Not only can you turn off the filters but you can also select the setting to have your sim prefer feminine or masculine clothes (like Morgyn Ember has selected). There should be more masculine looking clothes because townie creation is already horrendous imo. I honestly don't like much of the EA CAS stuff in general and have all the packs except for most of the clothes kits. I just use CC for my clothes, which is a huge gamble because again townie creation can be a mess plus I also have to cross my fingers every time a new patch comes out that doesn't break everything so my sims aren't all naked lol.
I completely agree about the masculine stuff. I stopped playing about two or three years ago, I had every pack. I had a ton of CC but like 3 mods. I had like 400 Sims that I edited each one, but the game would dress them in different garbage and I hated seeing them walk around like that. It just it became unplayable. I kind of miss it but then I'll load it back up and then try again and it's just like too frustrating.
1:31 Sims 4 is basically a build simulator because the live mode bugs ruin everything.... And even then, curved walls.... And all the other build mode bugs.
I agree with men's cas, I have to download tons of cc just to have fashionable masculine looks. The game should just come with fashionable stuff to begin with!
i actually agree with all of the things you said (especially about masculine sims). maybe not so much with wedding stories and such but i genuinely agree with all unpopular opinions
With the clothing issue, I personally think there shouldn't even be a divide between the female and male category, but each clothing should have a tag - feminine, masculine, neutral, and each piece of clothing should have a variant with/without boobs etc., so that it can be put on other gender and easily fit without looking weird. I don't play the sims 4, but I'm sure there's many pieces that are made only for female sims but are more neutral (or not) and when you put it on a male sim it looks off with the textures rounding up on the chest area and having a shade indicating there are breasts there, but there are none because your sim is flat. I'm sure this might be even bigger issue for female sims where the shirt gets stretched out over a huge pair of boobs and it just looks obvious that the texture wasn't ever meant to be put on that body. In my opinion, in ts5 or whatever project rene might be, clothing catalog should be the same for both genders. Depending on whether you have a masculine or feminine character, you're still being shown the same exact clothes but with a different silhouette. You can then put a tag on that will show only masculine or feminine clothing when it comes to the style, so no skirts or crop-tops for masculine version. This would mean that both genders can wear everything from the catalog that's available for both genders without weird visual bugs happening, and if a player pleases, they can sort their options with tags and remove all feminine-style pieces.
I think the lack of masculine CAS items has been an issue since forever. Even in Sims 2, men seem like an afterthought. Also in CC, the most stuff you can find is for adult females. I mean I get it. At least when I started playing the majority of players were women. I don't know if that is still the case with Sims 4 but I understood while representing yourself or your possible future self lead to a dominance of female fashion. However, this is CC. EA should do better than those creating CC. After all they earn money from this (let's not open the can of worms that is paid CC because that could get ugly). They want to appeal to everyone. I get that female fashion might be easier because we are more exposed to it but why not just do field research and maybe recreate what you see average people wear at the supermarket or the coffee shop? Or maybe just browse through an online retailer? It should be easier these days than back in the early 2000s where online shopping wasn't as popular and Google Picture search only just started out.
When I did my own Caliente refreshes, I heavily consulted their history, sharpened their features to be reminiscent of their 25% alien heritage, renamed Katrina to Nighat (her ACTUAL name) and even added their father in their younger (child) versions. They are currently children in my game.
All games are like that. Some people can't understand that others can dislike--even hate--what they love & take it as a personal attack on them rather than a difference of opinion. You see it in all kinds of fandom, not just games.
I completely agree tho. Anyone CAN wear anything but that shouldn't erase the classifications as feminine and masculine. Heck even when i have more butch, masculine women who dress in mens clothing in the sims its hard to find in game stuff that works and is trending without having cc
I remember a post where HUNDREDS of people were attacking him on Reddit… all because he criticized a pack. it was crazy and showed me how toxic this community is
I agree with all you said. I was so disappointed when the masculine pack released and to be honest all I wanted was some new trousers and more plain dress shirts. If I want my male sim to wear skirt or dress, I will put him in a dress or skirt, because I know how comfy it is. I believe everyone should be able to wear whatever they like, regardless of their gender. However, not all of us live in a place where it's safe to walk like that and if we want to recreate our friends or partners, we have nothing to work with and million crop tops. If they want to make skirts and crop tops for masculine frames, they should also make trousers and dress shirts, exactly like they do with feminine frames. And CAS for masculine frames is always lacking in packs so I almost never make male sims, because there's not that much that would work and I don't exactly want them all to wear the same 2016 trousers.
I'm non-binary but I agree 100% there is a problem with men's CAS. There is very little masculine clothing, hairstyles and beards. Most of the time when I'm creating a masc sim, I have to use mods. Even when I'm creating female sims, I sometimes want to give them something less feminine and I just can't do it without CC. Also if CAS is supposed to be trans-inclusive, why don't they include masculine clothing for trans men and masc "they/thems"? I see no inclusivity in the sims' CAS
THANK YOU for pointing out live mode, I don't spend a lot of time building and I use sims I've created before so i can quickly jump into live mode, cause it's THE MAIN MODE OF THE GAME, it's where the magic is supposed to happen and with every update and DLC i've watched live mode become more and more glitchy and buggy and it's becoming so frustrating, some of the bugs that happen in my games lock me out of whole features or need a lot of extensive fixing using MCCC or something to just GET THE GAME TO BEHAVE AS IT SHOULD. this is so lazy from EA that they can't fix their own game and i have to rely on a mod to play around the many bugs.
Live mode being dead is SO true. Im so bored whenever I try to play "normal way". I tried to start legacy challenge (or whatever it's called). I made my first sim, she got pregnant and I never touched that game again. I just make sims and build stuff for them. And move on to the next sim
3:32 I don't like the refreshes either. I got so use to seeing the townies a certain way and then poof, that was gone. I actually have a save file that I used to upload all the old townies to my library. I just didn't like the refreshes.
i’m neutral on the townies since I don’t think the old or new versions fit and the Sims 2 versions will always be the ‘real’ deal to me. 😂😂 But there’s a mod that reverts them by default if you are on PC.
@@JubeiKibagamiFezlook up simplyanjuta sims 4 mods. I don’t use that particular mod (I use their other CAS mods) and when I went to the page just now it was just for the original Sims 4 Goths, but I could have sworn there were a few others.
I went from playing the original Sims on CDs (The Sims, Livin Large, House Party and Hot Date) to the Sims 4. I was use to the CD versions of the game actually working. Thought my Sims 4 download was broken when I first played. The action cancelling, the random issues, the fires every time I even thought about the stove, I’m never giving EA another cent after I played Sims 4. So broken compared to the CD versions of my childhood. Fix the game and give us something that actually works and then we’ll talk.
I like horse ranch but it's quite buggy. I don't really like my wedding stories as much as i did in the beginning because it's too much of a hassle to have a wedding. I make all my guests show up after the vows because i can't deal with the sitting in the aisle, sitting literally right between the couple as vows are being exchanged, eating the cake before the couple even cuts it. These are things the couple would never talk to the person again for in real life. 🤦🏽
When I first found your channel, I wasn't 100% sure if I actually liked you or not, but then whenever I heard you talk about your opinions on Sims 4, I felt more and more comfortable and started watching more of your stuff, because I basically agree with like 99% of all your opinions and I love that you say them out loud. It's nice to find a channel like that and a content creator who speaks their mind.
Oh honey… It’s not just the Sims community it’s the Internet.… In fact at least one person will attack me for this comment 😂 and I just wanna throw in there because I am new to the community that you were one of my favorite channels… Overall I’m not a fan of watching people tell me why I shouldn’t buy something or why they don’t like it to me that seems like anti-advertising but whatever… There is something about your channel that I am just drawn to immediately. Also my sister says your voice is lovely…
For real the whole internet is like it💀 you could say “I don’t like coffee” and one person will be like “WELL THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO DO, DID YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT” 😂
To be fair, I feel like sims fans are a different kind of toxic. There’s large parts of the fandom that are toxically positive and refuse to hear any criticism of TS4.
Truuuue! SO MANY communities and fandoms over the internet are so toxic nowadays, people just cannot accept different opinions. For example I literally got herbally harassed for liking different characters in the show than the majority... 😂
@@TheSlipperyNUwUdleoh there was a person like that, that would appear in every Sims video arguing with people criticizing and even going as far as going in the other games channel to trash talk, miraculously I didn't see them in a while
Re: the masc vs fem clothing, tbh I think the categorization is determined entirely by whether they designed it to fit right on a more masculine or feminine character model, rather than if the clothes themselves are masculine or feminine in aesthetic (and the modern menswear kit is definitely an example of them designing to fit on masc models. and there's always been clothes in the fem section that are more masculine- even before sims allowed you to dress every sim however you want I'm sure I made at least one tomboy sim in sims 1 back in the day) but tbh that just leads to another issue with the gendered clothing options (as well as the body type diversity) which is that they clearly didn't put enough effort into making the clothes actually look right on different body types. If I make a fat sim, suddenly I have like half the options to choose from just because the clothes don't lay on them in a way that looks realistic. If I put a sim who looks like a cis male in a feminine outfit suddenly shirts that were formal blouses have become really awkward crop tops for no reason and if you put a sim with boobs in a "masc" t-shirt suddenly they have lara croft triangle boobs. So I don't *hate* that they have "masc" options that are more feminine-looking (esp if they work with whatever niche aesthetic a given pack has, like the modern menswear all looks like things David Levy's character wore in schitt's creek) I just wish that instead they put a little more effort into making the supposedly inclusive clothing options actually functional.
You said you mostly build now, due to glitches.. but that is when my game crashes most often.. today my game crashed like 5 times already. I saw yours recently crashing too in one of your willow creek rebuild videos. EA is making it so damn hard to enjoy this game. I’m now playing Sims 2, it’s the best one imo
Satch I literally love your videos. I know you're probably never gonna see this but I know I have to write it. You're like one of my therapists. I agree with the things you say so much. Especially in the intro when you were talking about how people can't accept you're opinion because it contradicts theirs or its not what they wanna hear, I literally had such a tough time tonight but I feel like you're kind of like the online bestie therapist and I love you're videos :) I also really like the SatchOnStuff channel, I've noticed the views aren't exactly coming in, it could be because it's hard to find the channel so (suggestion) you could add it in the description of you're videos if you want.
I just started using mods after years of refusing and it changed my life. I’ll probably never go back since I’m on a basic MacBook and can’t play the older versions until I get a gaming pc. I also suck at building and I’m very gameplay focused so that’s annoying that gameplay sucks without mods. Everything you said was accurate
I haven't played sims 4 for months because I can't bother with mod updates lol. Especially that nowadays they force you to update the game, where before I used to play an outdated game for half a year or so and I'd update it only when some new features would acumulate.
Satch, whatever you say always teaches me something new about the game. I never thought to examine and use the build/buy objects of a particular pack, for example. Can anyone tell me how to use the spices that you buy from the Spice Festival? Can you cook with them? I can't figure out how.
There is a way, but I don't remember 😅. It is either broken, by (higher) skills, or after cooking the meal then add the spice. Would be good to know again. Sorry. And take good care. Plus, I don't remember if it has to be in your Sim's inventory to add the spice.
You have to learn the recipes that need those spices then you can cook with them. You learn the recipes by eating that food from the various food stands. Note: for "spicy" foods you won't learn the recipe until your sim successfully manages to eat it 😂
Feminine clothing in the masculine tag wouldn't even be as big a problem if they had a decent selection of menswear but ,male sims don't even get half of the items the female sims do and them that half of half is then cut down by having so many feminine items. All my male sims end up looking the same because they have nothing to choose from!
On the townie refreshes... I made a "starter" save file where I changed Bella back so anytime I wanted to start a "new" save I pull up the starter and make a copy. I did other things as well, like giving Judith Ward a proper summer and winter outfit and fixes around the worlds, but the reason for making it was actually Bella because I couldn't stand the new version
EA has NO interest in making mods easily available or downloadable. For the average person who is not computer literate it seems very daunting to download mods (even though it’s just downloading a file and sticking it in a folder) most of them give up trying or don’t even try. That way EA can continue making people pay $40 for content they can get for free.. I don’t feel like EA truly supports mods or CC creators but try to act like they do to keep a good image
I feel the opposite about EA and modders. Not saying they support them but I think they genuinely know that modders will fix things and make better stuff so it allows them to be a bit lazy and put less effort in because they know people will still buy the packs and modders will pick up their slack.
I also like playing with male sims but there’s so many nice classy items (I like vintage-y dark academia etc. vibe) that I never lack good masculine clothes even without CC
the new life sims aren't going to kill the sims for most people, but i most likely won't be going back to the sims 4 at least just because i can't get it to function properly. however, i'm definitely an old sims fan for sure.
i stoped playing sims for a month now, and I m so happy I experienced finding new games and better games ,I just got stuck only playing 1 game and I was bored of it i,ineeded a change, and I think I'm gonna give up on sims all together .
I also LOVE building farms and ranches in chestnut ridge, especially with T.O.O.L mod! I have modded red roan field to make that paddock on the left of the outer lot functional to keep horses inside full time, meaning the whole 64x64 is free for the sims and you dont have to have stables.
I actually like the updated Goths!! They are way more similar to the older games, and it scratches that itch in my brain that has always wanted to see them as just updated versions of the older games' looks
I liked the Goths refresh minus Bella, only a darker tone of skin on her would be enough, as she was dark skinned in TS2, about the Calientes, I only liked Don, there is something off about the sisters
@joaolima7131 you got to admit the old mortimer looks more like his age than this new mortimer this one looks like a young adult with a mustache not a middle aged adult at all.
One thing i hate about the sims resource is that they have horrible sims they aren't horrible in the sense that they dont look good, but they are horrible because they are all ultra realistic sims
OMG YESSSSS you're so right about the goth refresh! I hate the new Bella and I'm honestly so tired of EA getting praised for maiming such an iconic character design...
Competition is so important and the Sims will 100% replace if there is a good one. Sims City was also the king in its genre and City Skylines completely replaced it. Hopefully this will happen, a game handeld by EA will have a downfall the only factor is time.
EA goes off of what is trendy online, not what's actually happening in the real world. The majority of men, whether gay, straight, bi - Are more than likely going to fall in the more masculine category. Even more "feminine" men are still wearing men's clothing. Men wearing women's clothing or more feminine clothing is definitely a more online trend than a real life trend. I'm gay, and I have a lot of gay friends, and only a small handful of them are wearing skirts/dresses/blouses and it's not an every day thing. The rest of us are just... dudes. Oh, and the other category that gets the shaft are masculine women. Their options are rocker/biker chick........ That's all.
--Oh, gods, I TOTALLY agree with you on the masculine clothes thing, and that "male fashion kit" thingie whatever is the cherry on top. It's literally "We're making a pack of clothes for men!" Audience: "FINALLY!!" "It's going to have weird cut-outs and skirts!" Audience: (crickets) (tumbleweed) Dude just give us something like the male part of the H&M pack for Sims 2! At least those were practical, everyday BASICS! Nobody was ASKING for high-fashion and high-fashion only! --I can think of one reason people would get mad at you for using mods but not announcing it: They might think THEY CAN DO THE SAME THING IN THEIR OWN GAMES and when they go to try it, the options and menus are nowhere there. That's it, that's the main reason. It's the same reason that the "Not all footage in this trailer exists in actual gameplay" disclaimer has to exist. Really out-there mods are less confusing, but the mods that seem like something that COULD be in the game, might make people think "What pack do you need for that?" or "What specific circumstances do I need to set up to allow that animation to play?" Because these games ARE full of random little interactions you might not know about, for years. (And if it were me, I'd also NAME the mods used/the place where you got the CC, too. Much searching in vain and asking around on forums and subreddits has been caused, by people going "Where Is This FROM?" Doesn't have to be IN the video. Description's fine.)
I love for rent and it's definitely one of my favorite packs if I'm being real. Building apartments and then living in them is a lot of fun and i barely use the city living or eco lifestyle ones anymore because of it.
I agree on the townie refreshes, even having never played Sims 2. Not much of a builder, and haven’t bought any pack since Discover University, StrangerVille, a few stuff packs, and no kits. I LOVE watching teen sims mope around (from Parenthood, I think) - it cracks me up every time. One thing I hate, in CAS, is the male sim torso - no matter which sim - it’s always curved slightly which makes all shirts/swearers/jackets hang weird. Always fine in live mode, but not in CAS (looks like some form of scoliosis).
I hated the refreshes they did. They ruined the Goths and Calientes imo. Leave it up to EA, everything they touch they ruin. They do what they think should be done rather than listening to the players who play the game! They throw stuff in with no real thoughts and they just patronize people with the bare minimum.
I've just discovered your channel about a week ago and really like hearing your comments on the Sims. You might not have a popular opinion, but I agree with most of your comments. My main gameplay is in live mode, which made me stop playing for awhile before we upgraded to the new Xbox. At least now it doesn't take 5+ minutes for each load screen.
my wedding stories is the first and only pack ive ever preordered. the world is GORGEOUS. it is by far my favorite. and frankly the only redeeming quality that pack has.
Well, I like Island Living and most simmers put it on the bad list when they rank them soooo... and I like JTB, I just do and I know everyone hates it but I like it, so I think I might be in the same boat as you
I've been playing The Sims since it first came out. The game has changed a lot and not always for the better, but I agree with everything you brought up. Thank you for being the "Karen" that I can't be.
Trust me, I a bisexual woman expressed my dislike of the Rainbow-Slay outfits and flags being added to the game, along with the pronouns and other pandering nonsense, I was called a homophobe, and abelist, and a racist. No matter how much I pointed out that the additions had no effect on gameplay and were just, as I said above, pandering to Twitter, I was just told I was a closeted himophobe and all these other Twitter buzzwords. In the end, I just gave up trying to express my opinioms because I was just told to "shut up" by teenagers who decided that because I didnt like the hollow pandering, that I was somehow, as you said, personally attacking them.
So, what’s the problem if the flags don’t have any effect on gameplay. You don’t need to use it if you don’t like, but some people actually want to be represented. Just like with pronouns.
i prefer more feminine men but it annoys me so damn much how to be honest- i dont even have the option to dress my men masculine because the clothes men in the sims get are just mid at best (mostly worse) i love that we get more clothing that is feminine and actually fits a masc frame but those do not belong in the masc category just because it is actually made to fit the frame.
I totally agree with the lack of men's CAS. it's not even about gender, but about aesthetics, we lack stylistically masculine things. Also feminine stuff transformed into a masculine frame is not the result of inclusivity, but laziness on EA's part.
Yes
I hate it so much
I play with hypermasculine characters all the time.
As someone who likes playing with male Sims a lot more than female ones I definitely agree that men's cas needs major improvement.
true i always end up making them look like funky dads in their 40s/nerdy/"fancy fashionable" because i cant make one good looking plain and basic i have a lot of cc for men but most of it is also korean/japanese inspired or retro/vintage lol
The fact we had a menswear pack to allegedly solve this issue.
As in, it was its main marketing point.
And it didnt.
This made me literally lol. Bathroom lobster. 😂
@@kpoppy9635 Sims 3 taught me that the quit and save button is never safe
@@kpoppy9635 My sims 4 game has way more lag than sims 3 lol
15:00 I agree with you on the feminine/masculine filters! People should wear whatever they want, but those labels become useless if clothes aren't tagged properly. Maybe a unisex tag could help if they don't know if an item is feminine or masculine, but idk...
Agreed
Absolutely agree, drives me insane, I don’t want to see skirts when browsing men clothes with a masculine tag…
But you don't? May be some ethnic wear but guess what those are masc wear in that culture@@lasioux
The Katrina Caliente refresh pissed me off. I always thought her new face looked like Ganondorf
Yeah, I never play with them. I just marry them off with other townies and such so they can have a life while I play with my own Sims.
She looks like the wicked witch of the west from Wizard of Oz 🤣
Not Ganondorf lmao the accuracy
Same
OH MY GOD why did I never see that before?!
being a sims player who mostly does CAS and sometimes builds it is more difficult to make Male sims good looking since much of the *masculine* wear looks really bad or straight up too femenine for my liking so I end up making more Female sims as a result.
I agree 100% with you on that.
Look at the clothes they're releasing for Lovestruck. More non masculine clothes. They just don't give a crap. There are plenty of clothes for gay male sims already. 🤦🏽
All of my male sims look exactly the same because there are genuinely only like 5 male CAS objects that don't make me want to throw up.
100% agree
I love your Jill Valentine profile image ♡
I actually prefer playing, than building 🏢 I only build when I'm truly inspiring, but anyway agree with everything you said.
The Modern Menswear kit is the Batuu of kits.
Yes people said 'we need more basic menswear' so they gave us niche designer menswear.
Yes, I want weather but seasons in Sims 4 is so badly tuned I’d rather not have there version of it.
my friend recommended me to get seasons above any other pack when i was fairly new.
Without SimCity ‘the Sims’ wouldn’t exist. Some characters in Sims 1 were litterally in Sim City. 😅 in a way, the Sims is a Spin off of that game.
💯👆 and now that sims won't be the only life sim... there will be other options.
Quite, the Sims will kill the Sims.
Mods are what brought me personally to the Sims 4.
Second this. Sims 4 is a much better game with mods
It's a shame because without mods, sims 4 is generally a bad game. Mods are what entertain me in the sims 4, and I think EA failed in terms of sim 4 because the mods add SO MUCH gameplay that's actually needed.
Literally me:

Can they look at any male fashion forums and brands…? Or I don’t know, WALK OUTSIDE AND SEE WHAT WE WEAR?
@@heath6802 Exactly!
Do not forget about them using animations repeatedly instead of creating new ones. That could be he reason for some of the glitching. The pausing on high speed. And I have been having trouble with items doubling on my sims action que without adding them. Build mode was something I was proud of, but not anymore.
Seriously.
One freaking cheerleading routine? Are you kidding me?????
the high speed pausing and randomly going slow has been a bug since shortly after release btw :) hate EA
You can disable landlord events in game options :D
I wholeheartedly agree with the townie refreshes
14:38 it works like this because the masculine and feminine tags actually refer to the 2 different frames that the models are designed for, so feminine-style clothes in the masculine tag are made around the masculine frame and are inherently different than giving a masculine framed sim clothes designed around the feminine frame (which can often cause visual glitches/warping)
I would agree tho that the sims 4 is seriously lacking in masculine fashion
Sorry your mods are screwing with your game as the developers fix it.

if there was good enough life sim game, i have no doubts people would say fuck you to the sims and EA
While the townie refreshes objectively made the townies look worse for the most part, Cassandra and Don got the good end of it.
They made all the noses so long. Which is fine sometimes. But all the time?
I agree with pretty much everything especially the clothing thing it bothers me so much I like things sorted properly.
I would love to see you do a let's play in Sims 3. I agree the gameplay in Sims 4 is lackluster.
You look fresh with that new hair color! Add sass to sassyyy 🤣
I love a good satch sims 4 rant could listen for hours he’s one of the only creators being honest no sugar coating
I agree with men's cas, I have to download tons of cc just to have fashionable masculine looks. The game should just come with fashionable stuff to begin with!
For rent is a nice concept but it doesnt matter if it breaks the game and corrupt the savefile.
i actually agree with all of the things you said (especially about masculine sims). maybe not so much with wedding stories and such but i genuinely agree with all unpopular opinions
Every fandom is this way. Any IP is way better without interacting with the fanbase.
I agree with most of your unpopular opionions, especially the lack of masculine CAS.
I feel so bad my male sims only have 1-2 outfits they live in their whole time😢, but then you look at the Townies.... 😅
0:08 😂😂😂 I'm already dying, itsnot just in the Sims community, it feels like the whole world.
I completely agree tho. Anyone CAN wear anything but that shouldn't erase the classifications as feminine and masculine. Heck even when i have more butch, masculine women who dress in mens clothing in the sims its hard to find in game stuff that works and is trending without having cc
They are BRUTAL towards you on Reddit

I made the beach front lot in the wedding stories world a nudist beach haha
I liked the Goths Refresh minus Bella, and the Callietes I only liked new Don
@@TheDawnofVanlife Oh, nice. Is the mod called Default or Revert???

For real the whole internet is like it💀 you could say “I don’t like coffee” and one person will be like “WELL THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO DO, DID YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT” 😂
@@SideCharacter12303oh you don't like coffee? SO DO YOU HATE FAIR TRADE???????
You did a great job on your Sim Self =) He looks so much like you IRL!!!
It’s so ridiculous that EA wants us to PAY for more menswear!!! Not even clothing with a theme, just men’s clothing
Satch I literally love your videos. I know you're probably never gonna see this but I know I have to write it. You're like one of my therapists.
I agree with the things you say so much.
Especially in the intro when you were talking about how people can't accept you're opinion because it contradicts theirs or its not what they wanna hear, I literally had such a tough time tonight but I feel like you're kind of like the online bestie therapist and I love you're videos :)
I also really like the SatchOnStuff channel, I've noticed the views aren't exactly coming in, it could be because it's hard to find the channel so (suggestion) you could add it in the description of you're videos if you want.
Satch, great video. If you have UI Extensions right click on the tenant events. They will end and your unit rating will not be affected.
If I'm not wrong, you can use the Spices to cook the food that came with City Living ( the one that you can learn the recipe when your sims eat it)
You have to learn the recipes that need those spices then you can cook with them. You learn the recipes by eating that food from the various food stands. Note: for "spicy" foods you won't learn the recipe until your sim successfully manages to eat it 😂

I feel like if mods where never a thing in the sims, than there wouldnt be many people playing or liking the game. tbh
The sims4 game
"I got fat and dyed my hair blonde...im Woke now." 😂🤣😆
EA has NO interest in making mods easily available or downloadable.
Im pretty sure most people who play the sims know how to download mods, it’s not rocket science.
I also like playing with male sims but there’s so many nice classy items (I like vintage-y dark academia etc. vibe) that I never lack good masculine clothes even without CC
11:28 I’m pretty much sure you CAN mod an online game tho, Minecraft is a perfect example of that. Unless I’m just bugging
I guess it depends on how the online features will be set up, so I think it could be possible too.
im pretty sure more like fortnite or roblox
0:26 had to check the date real quick. Thought I looped back to april,
The menswear kit was not even for men I was disappointed 😭
the new life sims aren't going to kill the sims for most people, but i most likely won't be going back to the sims 4 at least just because i can't get it to function properly. however, i'm definitely an old sims fan for sure.
i stoped playing sims for a month now, and I m so happy I experienced finding new games and better games ,I just got stuck only playing 1 game and I was bored of it i,ineeded a change, and I think I'm gonna give up on sims all together .
I’m neutral on the updates, but Cassandra def looks better in 2.0. Don was the Hot DOCTOR in Sims 2, in Sims 4 he seems more like a gym Bro.
One thing i hate about the sims resource is that they have horrible sims
they aren't horrible in the sense that they dont look good, but they are horrible because they are all ultra realistic sims
I need your sims self in my game. It looks just like you too well done!
Satch: “Bugs and glitches are not fun for playing the game.”
Me: *laughs in Skyrim*
I love for rent and it's definitely one of my favorite packs if I'm being real. Building apartments and then living in them is a lot of fun and i barely use the city living or eco lifestyle ones anymore because of it.
For the slip and slide I used to put dish soap on it to make it extra slippy
I miss the hot summers when we were younger 😭
I agree a new Life Sim wont kill The Sims, but EA might. They did it to Sim City.
@@Poptanic Because they don't fulfil a purpose outside of hollow pandering.
That hawk tua thing just grosses me out so much. It's the implied phlegm
We'd be so cooked without mods
i prefer more feminine men but it annoys me so damn much how to be honest- i dont even have the option to dress my men masculine because the clothes men in the sims get are just mid at best (mostly worse)
i love that we get more clothing that is feminine and actually fits a masc frame but those do not belong in the masc category just because it is actually made to fit the frame.
Different opinions are as important as everyone being a different person.
