Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 will cost even more than its predecessor. In the United States, the starting price for the 256GB model of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is $1900 with prices climbing to $2260 for the 1TB option. That's a $100 price hike across the board for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 compared to the Fold 5.

@@nico77212 i understand where you are coming from, but there are certainly degrees to it. Being profit-minded and being greedy are not the same thing. Greed has taken over and been unapologetically public view since the end of Bush's term right before Obama when OPEC decided to hike up the price of oil, impacting gas prices around the world. They have been getting away with it, so now other companies are following suit and giving us less benefit for more cost. OPENLY. Calling the exclusion of charging bricks and earbuds an effort to be more environmentally conscious was laughable. It wasn't being green-minded, it was cost-cutting for better profit margins. Sal talked about it back then, too. If they wanted to really be earth-friendly, they would engineer these things to be easily repairable and battery-swapped, so that we keep them longer. That would eat into YOY profits, though. They can't have that.

These prices will be extra joke if the screen size and ratio is the same as before...same crease there, and still no s pen support on front screen!
they have made the screen from 20 microns thick to 50 to reduce the crease according to Sammobile

If they want to sell the z fold, they need to up the RAM to 16 GB and put the new snapdragon chip. Why would I pay that much when a few months later the Ultra will launch with the new chipset. Stupid marketing strategies

I will never advice anyone to buy these yet! 2 years ago I bought the flip4 for my wife and after just a few months of use its deadweight in the drawer right now because the phone shutdown when folded and requires a restart each moment it's folded. The samsung repair centre told me I'd have to pay for a replacement screen and it's not cheap. The tech hasn't matured folks and Samsung is way over there head to charge more for these😅
I was planning on trading in my 3 for the 6, but my friend who didn't want his 4 anymore zold it to me for $430, and now I'm glad I dont have to worry about getting the 6 anymore especially with this huge price jump 😬
I've been waiting to upgrade my Fold3 to a more recent version (like the Fold6 nowadays for example), but now I guess I'll have to wait even longer until the next Fold is an actual worthy upgrade.

Zfold 3 here. Was waiting for the 6, but this news I saw earlier today made me rethink my plan. The exact same phone, pretty much (I'm not going to acknowledge cm differences), same cameras, same resolution, SLIGHTLY thinner for MORE money? And more than likely, still no SPen cover screen support? Yeah, no - I might just go back and get the S 24 Ultra.
The z fold 3 is still great. I'm not planning on upgrading

I honestly dont think the price tag is the big issue, its charging that money for practically nothing of value.
For the price theyre asking its: not top end camera, low starting amount of storage, narrow screen, lack of spen or other useful hardware feature-other than “it folds”
Now add in bigger battery screen, best cameras, higher storage or another useful hardware feature then sure someone will justify the 2k price tag.
But till then, i either buy a regular phone for half the price or simply get a chinese/overseas version for less even after import fees 😂

Price increase for what? They didn’t even change that much of the hardware to even remotely justify this price. Samsung’s foldable phones market is going to sink and they have only themselves to blame.
They will raise this price so they can raise the price of s25 ultra
They usually give good incentives for trade in. typically 1,000 for a 1 or 2 year older model. But I hope they increase it to more to compensate the increased cost. Otherwise I may wait another year or two to upgrade.
Okay, I am a loyal supporter of Samsung for many years and was planning to switch over from my S22+ to the fold 6 but I have noticed that their flagship phones prices are creeping up over the years without offering much new stuffs. I will be switching over to the like of Honor Magic V2 or V3 in that case.

The competition is seriously starting to raise doubts about the prices charged by Samsung. They would start to seriously worry about this competition and their response? “Let’s make the prices of our products even more questionable.” Do not be surprised if the customers of this next generation prefer to wait for an Honor Magic V3.
The problem is not so much the price increase but the fact that it is essentially the same phone as the Fold 4 and Fold 5 with a slightly changed design.
The lack of innovation will be Samsung's doom just like with Nokia.
Its just marketing strategy they leak high price tag and when they launch it will be same as previous year so customer will feel it is cheaper😅

Going the wrong way... I tried the Fold 3 and it was cool but after 6 months I was over it. Then I tried the Fold 5 and while a lot of nice improvements after 3 months I was over it again. Now the price is going up? Meh, I don't think I will try another. I'm an life long Note/Ultra person I think!

technically you pay less if you sum up the freebies. I always see them giving buds, watch, battery pack in flagships and sometimes they even do it even in midrange phones.
It's funny how phones have got to the point where they are as expensive as when the first mobiles were released 😂 I'm not into folding phones, and while they are that expensive, it's unlikely I will be. I'll stick to the 24 ultra.

Samsung has lost its lead in the foldable market and you would expect the Fold 6 To Be Epic, unfortunately it's gonna be more of the same, disappointing.
I was looking forward to upgrading from my ZFold 4. But since Samsung's trade-in values have been horrible this past year and the 100 doller price jump, I'm definitely reconsidering. I've been very disappointed with them since 2022. They have been really lazy. TM Roh needs to go.

My Note 10+ still beats this. The way Samsung is going, I guess I will just wait for the Z Fold 11+ before I upgrade.
The MSRP in Samsung's case is always a marketing gimmick though, nobody smart is paying anywhere near full price on a flagship Samsung phone. They have promotions on all the time - last Black Friday you could trade in literally any phone (as long as it turned on - $10 iPhone 4 off Ebay and you're golden) and get a 512gb Fold 5 for $1125, brand new, warranty and everything, plus access to bundle deals ($50 for Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, anyone?)
It's been feasible in the past to get a new Fold for as little as $400 with the right promotion and trade in, and that's not even getting into carrier deals - this is for an unlocked phone directly from Samsung.
I anticipate that around Black Friday, I'll be able to pop onto the Shop Samsung app with my Fold 4 and a thousand bucks, and leave with a Fold 6, Watch 7, Buds 3 Pro, S Pen/case, and probably some change too - backdate all that by a gen at the last black Friday and it's $900 before the student discount.
