if the accord offered AWD on this 2.0 it would be ridiculous. it is a shame they do not offer this engine. I think it is a huge mistake. I have no problem with the current engine they offer BUT as a base engine. They absolutely should offer the 2.0T as the upgrade! They screwed up big time
Very strange. At lower rpm your boost is about 1.4 but as the rpm increases, boost goes down to 1.0 bar. Wonder if that can be fixed in tuning to where you reverse it. Start at 1 bar at lower rpm and then increase it to the full 1.5 at higher rpm? Perhaps I should research this Hondata software...
They're close but the 2.0T is just a bit faster, probably because of the 10 speed. There is a nice low end torque that makes it feel a lot faster though.
There is a nice premium for the 2.0T w/10 speed, but it's worth it. I don't see people complaining about the 1.5T accord though. Maybe test drive all 3, a loaded civic, 1.5T accord and the 2.0T accord. See if the extra money is worth it.
@@Isles8 MSRP is close between a civic ex and an accord LX. You can probably get a good deal in either in this time. If you're 2012 civic is well taken care of it still has a lot of life left, I would save up a little longer for the 2.0T.
I think I am going to get the Ex for either the accord or civic but I agree I have over 100k miles on the car now but want something new how is the reliability so far?
@@Isles8 do some research on the 1.5T. There were oil dilution problems with the first engines, not sure if it's completely fixed now. The car is awesome honestly, the best sedan I've ever owned. Turbos don't equal reliability, but not keeping it for a long time.

I’ve watched a few 0-60 videos of the 2.0T and V6 coupe and the v6 seems to be quicker than this. I’m really trying to decide if I want the 2.0t or the V6 coupe. I really like the look of the coupe more but I know the 2.0t would be a lot faster after mods. This a hard choice smh
Test drive both. The v6 coupe might be a little faster under hard acceleration, but in regular driving, the 2.0T low end torque is rewarding. In terms of everything else, interior, steering, suspension. The new accord kills it.
Anthony they’re close but believe it or not the 2.0t is a little quicker. It probably doesn’t look like it because the V6 is so much more composed and smooth, but this engine is a torque monster.. also if you add a simple ECU tune for like $500 you’re smoking that same V6
I can't notice shifts after 5th gear when cruising. We had a 2017 accord with the 2.4L/cvt. Great gas mileage but a turd when driving aggressively. The 2.0T with the 10 speed is actually fun to drive.
This isn't great. I'm also confused why everyone thinks these can beat 5.0 mustangs... the mustang would mop this so god damn fast. Stock, a 18 mustang GT can do the quarter mile in 11.9 seconds. The accord would never get below 13.7 on it's best day. I also race 2.0 accords in my tuned 2.7 f150 and mop them every time as well....i think you are all high af off your vapes.

I found that the right way to lauch my accord is sport mode on, traction, lane assist and forward collision systems off.

No. Just traction control off. If it’s not, it cuts power to keep the wheels from spinning excessively.
With everything deactivated, you can feel a little of bit of the true engine come out, just a little.

these need AWD, they struggle so much with traction. all that power and a very short first gear...
It’ll be slower. Look at the new Acura tlx with the same 2.0t engine the awd is slower than the fwd version

Never test drove the 1.5T. I had a 2017 coupe with the 2.4L w/cvt and it wasn't fun at all. Great gas mileage though.
SSDracer could be the low end torque but it’s pretty zippy for the size of the engine. it got good gas mileage and she doesn’t drive super slow lmao

It's a cvt so any shifts shouldn't be noticeable at all unless you have the fake sport mode shifts which still isn't an actual shift.
