Damn I’m behind in so many of these. It’s only through the grace of The Most High that’s I’m not rock bottom. But now I can see where I need to Improve.
At 47 years old I definitely feel like my life is empty. I'm at a job where I feel like I have no room for growth. Just working paycheck to paycheck only to pay my debts. I try to workout whether it's weight lifting, walking the trail which is my only daily motivation. I know and I'm trying to make better decisions with lifestyle choices as far as family issues, mental health, relationships with friends and dating females. It's a daily struggle but I'm not going to give up.
Definitely a jagged pill for me. I've reached retirement age and am still behind. I've managed to neglect my health and have lost one leg. My finances never improved and i failed to aquire a sustainable skill. Right now I'm pretty much just waiting for the clock to run out. Wish i would've had this list 40 yrs ago. Good talk.
I lost my leg above knee in a car accident about 15 years ago. I have kids and I’m married. I’m 44. As I age, I become more and more aware of how little time I have left. As well as how much time I wasted. My purpose I thought was to go into the ministry. I don’t have as skill or trade, and I hope to better myself everyday. 🙏🏾ing for you sir..
There's people that graduate college way older than you every year and it's absolutely not too late to learn a trade. Many cities offer free programs that teach skills like auto mechanics, welding, IT, real estate etc. 44 is still young and not too late to get your health together. Create a plan and follow it. Wish you the very best!!!
In college back in 85’ I’ve always told my homies never be stagnant. Keep pushing forward and taking the next step in every facet of life. Now at 56 and about to retire in June, life about to turn up. In the meantime, I’ve been remarried for 5 yrs and have a 3yr old son. Became a professional photographer. Now it’s time for me to be home and show him the way to success , God is great and always give back.
I was on track and doing all these things, after 25years of marriage, my wife was bored and “not happy “ and wanted a divorce; I prided myself in always giving and supplying her with her wants. Where did it get me? I lost 1/2 of everything that I had achieved, just so she could walk away with cash & prizes. Not bitter, I just see women and relationships without rose-colored glasses.

That could be a great opportunity for you. You have to weigh out the pros and cons and then, where you ultimately want to be in life. I sometimes wished that I had joined the armed forces when I was younger. I would be retired or close to retirement now and probably have the freedom to enjoy a second career.

I still struggle to pin down my lifes purpose. Right now I need this compass and some stability. I have 2 kids but feel like Ive been a simp for some years in my marriage now separated. Certainly my kids are the most important piece of my life. I love them dearly and they are you g so will adjust hopefully. I have provided for them completely and solely. Time and money never seem to be onside, and work options arent great right now. I may have fell victim of sunk cost fallacy in my marriage, but isnt that, my being too proud? Or dumb?? As a person Im never complacent but victim of greed and others not being as hardworking, yet my network suffers due to blinkered mindset. OG its great content and thanks for the pep talk. 🙏🏼
Let's see, you touched on the primary indicators of one's overall condition - health, economic standing, relationships. I would say you are on the money bro! Perhaps some insights regarding one's assessment of their mental health would round things out a bit more.
I wish I were ahead in life. My parents were very successful. I know I'm behind in life. I never knew how to have a mentor or where to find one. I was the savant growing up that could do anything science and have the degrees to prove it yet can't bumble through anything social enough to even get a job, much less friends. Yet when I try, i am usually harshly persecuted. Even when I don't try. By persecuted i mean that people literally do all the can to destroy my life for no reason at all.
This speaks to me. Nothing seems to be working. Got thrown out of jobs. No friends, no wholesome relationship, messy habit, no income, no home, savings gone. I pray for clarity and a sound mind as I navigate and moving to put all these behind me.
*As a Man, set your own standards, move at your own pace, have a purpose, a plan and perseverance* because you wont get instant success. *Never compare, always compete* your career is how you see yourself not others, if you stay true yourself the right things will come to you. *Ultimately, your overall health is your wealth mental, physical, spiritual, and self-care if you dont have that you have nothing* and cannot obtain the other things in this video.
😅 I'm an artist. I didn't go the often chosen path. Creating art is my true passion and purpose. I honestly don't fit into societal norms, but i still want to ensure I'm good for the future. I'm seriously considering becoming an art teacher as a sustainable income. I chose not to label myself as behind. I'm blooming late. 🎉
financially I know i'll never retire, i'm an older millennial who got hit hard by the 08 crash, my life is only now starting to recover. I stopped worrying about money a while ago, sure it would be nice to make more, but i'm happy just being a live now.

I've been back in the US for 2 yrs now,I did over 10 yrs as a civilian contracter over-seas (Iraq,Qatar,Kuwaitt & Afghanistan ) as a mercenary, then doing logistics.I didn't even want to return to america.but, the US military got kicked outta Afghanistan,so,the civilian contracters had to bounce too.The best job I ever had,LOVED going to work everyday, hunting down terrorists and insurgents.I found my-NICHE. LOL. Worked with Army Rangers,Special Forces,etc,etc...also went to certain areas performing certain tasks that we weren't supposed to be. LOL.If you catch my drift. Before becoming a contracter,I also did 4 deployments to go fight in Iraq with the Texas Guard, also did 2 tours back-to back. I was in infantry units for all 4 tours. I've devoted 14 yrs of my life to combat terrorists and insurgents,I found my niche. By who's standards is "behind"... You only "fall behind" in someone else's eyes... but guess what? We each have our own path to carve, in our own time. Focus on yourself, always focus on getting better and stop comparing yourself to the next one. That's how you know you'll not fall behind.
My last serious relationship? I lost a lot of friends focusing on her; making her my priority. Family faded away also. Now I have to recreate myself & start from scratch at age 55! Damn!
Even though physically I am recovering from a injury I am doing way better now in life than I was when I was completely healthy but dam limited mobility makes it hard to live life
The problem with defining who is falling behind is defining who is succeeding. Honestly, I personally don't see many of todays male role models as "successful" no matter how many times the media tries to put them on a pedestal.
What if you did everything you set out to do in life … and then …did even more before you turned 50? Sometimes having goals left to accomplish is a good thing.
I appreciate, this video so much as especially as man solely because this is topic that we as men don't normally speak about. I know personally with losing my job twice during the pandemic and dealing with debt has truly had an impact on life and personality as person.
It's important to understand that making money is not your life's purpose and neither is your career . Those things can be an avenue to your purpose but they are not your purpose in and of itself.
when it comes to jobs i never cared about moving up. i just want an apartment with a friend. no desire for office jobs. the only thing i'm behind in is getting an apartment with a friend
I recently learned about having life milestones. I feel far behind when it comes to that. I made a lot of money, have a house and whatnot but I never thought to actually write it out to make sure I am hitting these points. Thanks OG
Its al perception. Not everybody see life the same. Some people dont like travel.some people dont care about health Some people sont care about financial stability.
you can say some people about any topic..when having discussions there will always be generalizations. you can't make a video that applies to all 7 billion human beings my friend..
As someone who recently went through a serious Anxiety period due to feeling I was not doing enough, this has made me feel a lot better. I am doing ok. I will say it again, I am doing ok. Very good video Sir.
Great video! Well stated, very insightful and words I believe encourage men to do that necessary introspection. Thanks for the excellent content brotha!
Another great video O.G. Especially the point about focusing on hobbies and interests. I put too much into my career to provide for my family. Men - we need to have balance. I’m working on that myself.
I personally think no one is ever ahead of one another in real life and no matter how behind or far ahead we feel, we are all gonna end up in the same place when we die and that is six ft under. That’s why life is a marathon not a race
Great advice, OG. Advice for younger people: A good way to assess whether you're behind or not is to notice how random people treat you. If they treat you respectfully, you're probably doing well at life. Also, if coworkers routinely ask for your advice, you're probably doing well, as your peers respect your judgment. Lastly, if you live a life other people envy, you're probably doing well.
Great Great content OG , I see with this hard look that I'm behind in some areas which makes sense of some unhappiness ... setting short and long term goals may help me change things around.. Salute and Respect OG 💪🏽💎

Bro.. GO FOR IT! I’m 26 as well in a similar boat as you and I’m about to see a recruiter tomorrow. I’m going in for the educational benefits as well as I am interested in how the Army can set me up as a physical therapist.. just gotta have a plan with how you’re gonna use the military. I was thinking about being certified in cyber security but didn’t see it being fulfilling long term as I will learn to hate my job
First thing is realization. You've come across this video and it's up from here. Time is on your side.
Thank you for this video. I needed to hear it.
You are so welcome!
My pleasure!
What is sunk cost fallacy?
The finance is the biggest problem.
Let's see, you touched on the primary indicators of one's overall condition - health, economic standing, relationships.
I would say you are on the money bro! Perhaps some insights regarding one's assessment of their mental health would round things out a bit more.
Appreciate the feedback!
A lot of older men are jealous of you. And if you're black and they're not they're probably racist against you as well.
Some of these things I definitely Needed to hear real men take on responsibility little boys run i appreciate you keeping it 💯 og
💯
This speaks to me.
Nothing seems to be working.
Got thrown out of jobs.
No friends, no wholesome relationship, messy habit, no income, no home, savings gone.
I pray for clarity and a sound mind as I navigate and moving to put all these behind me.
Same Bro 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿 You got this man, Gods Got you
I'm behind because I got a job right after high school and got stuck. Now I'm in my early 30s trying something new.
Damn big bruh I’m really behind… yeah I make six figures but all I do is grind 🤔🤔 I need to live a little
let's get it!
I definitely appreciated this video. Still working on myself to be a better man
Keep at it!
i don't care about fitting into societal norms. never have
Deep video!! Gave me alot to think about!! Wow!! Just made me realized I'm behind in many of these things.
Keep going!
financially I know i'll never retire, i'm an older millennial who got hit hard by the 08 crash, my life is only now starting to recover. I stopped worrying about money a while ago, sure it would be nice to make more, but i'm happy just being a live now.
Style OG a life coach now!
I hate having use credit (usually automobile related) just to get through hard times that sprout up. Seems to happen EVERY TIME I get close to owning nothing.
But,looking back now,I realize I was a-WAR-monger,I didn't see it back then, but, now I do.Had the time to reflect now and I'm kinda shocked too. Still thinking on this even now.To thine own self be true rings-LOUD-with me. SEMPER-FI
Big brother you are so true with this make alot of sense appreciate the vibe
I never been on vacation and I don’t do much of the things I use to enjoy nowadays. I definitely need to enjoy myself more.
You should!
Damn!
Looks like you lost weight.
a few pounds..
I'm looking at Jeff Bezos, man I'm really behind. LOL.
Even though physically I am recovering from a injury I am doing way better now in life than I was when I was completely healthy but dam limited mobility makes it hard to live life
My guy. I will never stop praying for you and your family you are one of a kind thank you for sharing knowledge and wisdom. Many blessings
Hope you found it useful!
Indeed, the Pandemic really has shaped my reality.
IN THE Health and fitness DEPARTMENT I NEED TO MAKE A COMMITMENT AND STICK TO IT
Thanks for the reminder taking inventory. Salute OG
Any time!
It's important to understand that making money is not your life's purpose and neither is your career . Those things can be an avenue to your purpose but they are not your purpose in and of itself.
Falling behind? Can you tell me where you're going? What's the end game?
when it comes to jobs i never cared about moving up. i just want an apartment with a friend. no desire for office jobs. the only thing i'm behind in is getting an apartment with a friend
Excellent article 💯. Only item I noted was missing was that there wasn't much talk about any goals linked to your family/wife/children
He wants you single forever bruh
👍🏻💯
Salute!
Once I saw there was no bookmarks, I skipped this video
I'm so far behind I'm in the back looking on like wtf my guy ,and I can't do shit about it I just have to let things play out for now
I recently learned about having life milestones. I feel far behind when it comes to that. I made a lot of money, have a house and whatnot but I never thought to actually write it out to make sure I am hitting these points. Thanks OG
No problem!
Great advice 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks!
@thestyleOG Personal relationships struck home 🏡 for me #Salute
This was hard to listen too I'm definitely behind
You didn’t mention nothing bout theses damn kids!!!! 😂
People in general need this more today more then ever.
Thanks for this Jeff appreciate it‼️💯
My pleasure!
Its al perception.
Not everybody see life the same.
Some people dont like travel.some people dont care about health
Some people sont care about financial stability.
you can say some people about any topic..when having discussions there will always be generalizations. you can't make a video that applies to all 7 billion human beings my friend..
Hard to watch because I know I’m behind, I appreciate this video OG
Hope it helps!
Thank you for this video. I need to hear it.
Glad it was helpful!
As someone who recently went through a serious Anxiety period due to feeling I was not doing enough, this has made me feel a lot better. I am doing ok. I will say it again, I am doing ok. Very good video Sir.
You got this Paul!
Most people know this already.
Cool video.. One question? Where's the background music? Cool Breeze..😎
mixing it up
Great list. But Health and wellness should be 2nd right after purpose. Otherwise great list. Thanks for sharing
My pleasure!
Great video! Well stated, very insightful and words I believe encourage men to do that necessary introspection. Thanks for the excellent content brotha!
You are so welcome!
Another great video O.G. Especially the point about focusing on hobbies and interests. I put too much into my career to provide for my family. Men - we need to have balance. I’m working on that myself.
Balance!
If I could suggest could you do a video on what life/ dating advice you yourself would give to men approaching 30?
Good idea!
Is that a shadow on his head or ink?
OG can we get a Best Detergent for clothes video
get started on fixing that!
Am I behind in life? Of course. We all are.
I personally think no one is ever ahead of one another in real life and no matter how behind or far ahead we feel, we are all gonna end up in the same place when we die and that is six ft under. That’s why life is a marathon not a race
This is truly a grown man discussion 👏🏾
Salute Trey!
Really good content 👌🏾
Glad you enjoyed!
Thank you Jeff. Great content
I appreciate that!
Respect!
My life is a disaster
Wake Up Call! ⏰️
this one kinda tough watch. made some milestones not others, Great vid as always.
Thanks!
Salute OG you gotta keep them tabs on yourself. It helps.
Salute James!
