This is why Robert is a legend. I've never heard anyone approach the concept of purpose in such a deep, complete, and practical manner. Social media is the deadliest counterforce in our path to self-discovery. We unconsciously feel the pressure to imitate those who we perceive successful thinking that is the only path to power. We force ourselves to fit into the trends of the time and become so impatient and afraid to start from the bottom, to allow ourselves to freely experiment. As Musashi said, “You must understand that there is more than one path to the top of the mountain.” Ignore everyone and find your own unique path to the top of the mountain.
This is beautifully written. Thank you! Robert Green definitely redefines self-awareness, fear, empathy and many other things. He gets to the root of my deepest problems/issues, helps me know that it's okay to touch them, and guides me to look at them through a different lens. Ultimate #goat and so grateful to be alive during his lifetime
Robert, I’m 20 years old and I’m from Mexico. When I was 15 years old I had been a terrible student all my life, I had been expelled from 5 different schools, I was a really active marihuana smoker and alcohol consumer, and I used to be involved in street fights. My first serious touch with a book was at that age, and was with one of yours. I loved it. It give me an engagement with knowledge as I had never felt before, it make me see knowledge not as an obligation but as a world full of wonders. You aroused my curiosity. I read all of your books at the time I was 15 years old 3 times each. It was the perfect medicine for the right patient. At the time I graduated from High School I graduated with on of the Highest GPA’s, I received the 1st place award in 5 Models of the United Nations, I became a Mason, and I had the habit of reading 1 book per week. A Year ago, I decided to Migrate to the United States leaving everything I had to pursue my dreams. I pay my rent, transportation, school, food, all of my expenses. I’m currently studying at a Community college in California with a 4.0 GPA majoring in Biotechnology with the dream of Transferring to UC Berkeley. No one had been as influential as you to helped me found my Life Task. I will write a Theory that I’m developing about the Progress of Human Civilization and the installment of a Transnational Government, and I will create my own company using CRISPR technology and gene editing to help solve Climate Change. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me want to live a life of adventure and service for Mankind. In others words; for teaching me the Art of Living. “I am indebted to my father for living, but to my teacher for living well” - Alexander The Great. -With affection, your friend David Cantu.
Do whatever you want, but do not help install any transnational government, and do not use CRISPR technology or gene editing to help solve climate change. Those are not real solutions. Thank you
Summary: 1. Know thy self : Pay attention to what you like and what you don’t 2. Let it come from inside you and not what other people say. 3. Pay attention to the details 4. Try things out
I want to hug you Robert for your generosity ans help towards humanity. Carl Jung, Jordan Peterson and you with your beautiful mind and books are the reasons why i decided to study psychology in France. Thank you so nuch Robert !
Man is created to praise, reverence, and serve God our Lord, and by this means to save his soul. And the other things on the face of the earth are created for man and that they may help him in prosecuting the end for which he is created. From this it follows that man is to use them as much as they help him on to his end, and ought to rid himself of them so far as they hinder him as to it. For this it is necessary to make ourselves indifferent to all created things in all that is allowed to the choice of our free will and is not prohibited to it; so that, on our part, we want not health rather than sickness, riches rather than poverty, honor rather than dishonor, long rather than short life, and so in all the rest; desiring and choosing only what is most conducive for us to the end for which we are created.
For some strange reason I've been watching your videos lately. I seen you on a show and like for week I've been watching your videos. I been wanting to right a book about my trauma events in my life just don't really know how to start. I hope you everything is going well with you and your situation. Keep the positive attitude you have!
Dig deep and you’ll find who you are. Growing and eating sugar snap peas in my moms garden has to be one of my earliest memories. I learned that food grew out of the ground and that fascinated me. One of my most vivid formative memories is finding dried corn amongst my moms packed away fall decor. Almost instinctively I picked them apart and planted multiple kernels in each of my moms many houseplant pots. I’m not sure how long it took but some time later I overheard my mom asking my dad why grass was growing amongst all of her houseplants, my dad laughed and told her it looked more like corn than grass. That was when I proudly confessed to destroying her beloved fall decor and planting it all over the house, which she was quite upset about. My dad on the other hand was impressed and promised me that when it warmed up enough in a few weeks we could plant them on the south side of the house. By the end of that short Alaskan summer we had a surplus of beautiful multicolored, delicious corn. We grew more than enough to replace what I had destroyed and my mom thanked me.. It felt like magic. That was the beginning for me. A couple years later our family fell apart and life was pure chaos from then on. In my teen years I lost my way and suffered greatly at my own hand in to my twenties. Through a relationship with God and help from my husband I began healing and I rediscovered my love for growing food. We are now living in an agricultural community, and learning how to care for an orchard. I couldn’t imagine a better life for myself.
Same here my friend. Failed in my first job and not because I was lazy. I was working harder than every one in my team. Only after I got fired and I read the 48 laws of power and...found out that I was "outshining my master(the piece of shit narcissist manager I had). Well, the book really opened my eyes and made me aware of this power games . The book really helped me to avoid so many postinial mistakes and mines(so to speak).
I agree 1000%. This has changed my life. Due to purpose making me extremely successful, the only thing I would add is that you don't have one singular purpose. Your purpose continues to evolve and change. The goal is to keep finding your purpose over and over
I first read Mastery about 7 or 8 years ago when I was 23. I was lost and directionless working as a cashier at a retail store. I spent some time soul searching and remembered how much I loved music. I decided I would pick back up the guitar and try to be a musician and put in the work and practice. Today 8 years later, I sold my electric guitar to a Pawn Shop for 50 dollars after it was collecting dust in my closet for 5 years. I loved music but I hated practicing scales and trying to remember how to play songs. It was a chore that gave me no pleasure and had no natural ability for it. I’ve started to enjoy music again now only after walking away from it. I’m a bartender now, and even though I don’t really consider bartending my passion or my purpose and I’m not the best bartender in the world but I make much more money in tips than I ever did as a cashier or security guard trying to make it a musician. Not everyone is born to be a musician, writer or entrepreneur. I’m sure Robert Greene would say I didn’t try hard enough or that I need to do more soul searching but after soul searching for over a decade I think for a lot of people having a regular job that you don’t necessarily care for but makes you enough money to live a comfortable life for you and your family is all you need.
Maybe what u need is versatility....have a regular job that makes money but also make a little time for other interests as a hobby....maybe ur one of those who don't want to treat ur creative interests as jobs. Treating it like work takes the joy out of it....it could also be that u picked up the wrong instrument too....there r so many sides avenues in or to music....
@@ilovehorses38 i think you are on to something and what I have told my children as they approach adulthood. It took me decades to work out that what puts food on the table while I don’t love it, engaged me enough that I have mastered and the market has rewarded me for it. On the other hand I discovered my spark for motorcycling almost 30 years ago and the fire has never waned. I finally got paid this year for the first time ever for riding a motorcycle. That was never the intent or desire. What my day job has allowed is for me to enjoy my passion unencumbered. I think “trying” to do it for money would corrupt it.
Ofcourse man, the jobs that everybody dreams of that you listed are kind of overrated and it’s actually very wise to NOT pursue them if you really really aren’t forced to.
I mean I get the public perception of you being just a bartender and doing nothing else but don’t be harsh on yourself for not being something that just sounds ‘cool’
I became a writer at age 61 in Bogotá, Colombia. It has been my way to overcome my reality as immigrant. It has been my way to protest elegantly and reach the World 🌎
I'm 70 and I thank you for this video! You have awakened something in me that I knew all my life. I have repressed it because I was told it wasn't what I should do. I was too emotional to be a vet. Because I cried everytime an animal died. It hasn't stopped me from rescuing and caring for every animal that I thought needed my help. I will read all your books. Lots of love Robert ❤️
Awesome! I am 68 and I feel the same way. It has reminded me of the creative side that was quashed because 'you can't make a living that way'. Onward!!!!! Good luck!
I know you replied a year ago but I am curious what you would have done. Animals are the only thing I''ve had a consistent draw to. And now that I'm 45 I don't know how I can work with them differently than I have in a position that can pay well enough. Open to your thoughts and anyone elses.
I'm 34 with the worst burnout I've ever experienced after 4 years in software development. Needless to say, I've always been recognized by my art teachers throughout my entire childhood and into college and really enjoy crafting new things and ways of seeing existing things into reality - perhaps it's time to have to courage to recognize it's ok to try a more creative career in design and let go of the fear of "starving artist." I particularly do hyperrealism drawing and have had plenty of great feedback but it's just my own inner motivation to truly take it on - maybe accept it can be something more. Maybe the most painful part of coding is all the technical limitations and disagreements among developers - raw design is absolutely more freedom.
@@Onthe9thlife3730 Feels like a full recovery - I found it's very important to design a solid daily structure and stick to it. More consistent morning exercise, weights, walk, and a little intense cardio. Giving up even occasional alcohol and intermittent fasting and limiting processed carbs and sugar makes a huge difference. I built up a solid portfolio and motivated tackling several fields of work now. Cutting out toxic environments is necessary, affirm your boundaries but if the company culture still refuses... time to go. Life is short, other companies need your work more or perhaps you're destined to be an entrepreneur.
I like the question, ‘As a child when you were alone in your room, what was your go to activity?’ I feel like that speaks volumes on your interests without having to actually think about interests. It takes us back to the foundation of what we naturally gravitated to. As an example, my go to was writing stories and creating. I lost that growing up when I became self conscious and critical of my work compared to my peers. As an adult now, I’m so lost on what to pursue as a career, this kind of opened my eyes to focus on what I cared about before I was hard on myself and my fear of anything less than perfection.
"Mastery" one of the best books i ever read. Nobody talk about the topics you cover in your books so deep as you, you master the writing art! Love all your books
I am 40 years old now man. I have childhood memories of unfinished school work, struggling to meet my parents' expectations, mediocre grades, moderately overweight body, struggling to gain female attention, not great at sports. I remember taking a walk with my uncle, and him asking me about my interests. I drew a blank then, just as I do now. I did not realize it at the time but I feel like I suffered from ADHD and associated depression from a very early age.
Let go of all the expectations and judgements to hear the real YOU. It’s there, just suppressed from a very early age. Forgive the past (people and yourself) cos it was out of ignorance. Let yourself dream of a desirable future because your true self knows what’s good for you.
I am 47 and listening to this and reading about it from RG , I guess my obsession was with fixing things. Now every corner I look in my house, and life I see evidence of that. One example is that huge cabinet I have of tools. I guess I might use this obsession into creating a side business of consulting to fix small to medium business. Let’s see how this goes 😊
This sounds like a Handyman business. Another business to consider if you're detail-oriented is car detailing. You can scale up with employees with a business like this. Not sure about handyman.
Make a UA-cam of you fixing things! You have no idea how asmr it is for a single woman like me to watch men tinker with stuff and teach how to repair things. I love it
i'm 45, while i was digging deep and trying to remember what fascinates me i came to ur comment, that's me too man!! I'm obsessed with fixing things too, I'm gifted and talented at fixing anything almost except things that require some kind of education and knowledge and i kinda love to tell/teach people how u too can do it, its like if i have found a way i could benefit myself i instantly try to teach people how you too can benefit from that. Thats interesting and exciting
Love it man. I was always a loner and musician as a child. What you say so resonates with me. 50 now and took so many wrong paths.. mostly because of no positive influence. That’s what makes me very angry. I’m now rekindling my dream. Never too late people. I’m feeling Joy once again, rather than turning to alcohol and a dark depression. My marriage was also very hard because I’m so driven and you just look like a maniac when youre passionate about something. Was sexually abused for a few years as a young boy by my uncle. My dad was quite distant and has turrets and quite autistic so he wasn’t too keen on turning against his twin brother because his childhood was all sexual and physical abuse too. Anyhow… long story long: I want to start a channel or podcast and help kids who are dealing with this to realize they’ve got a shot in life. This hurts marriages and destroys self esteem. It’s destroyed my marriage in so many ways. My wife of 16 years would hug up on me at night and I would jump sky high out of bed and turn over. Never knew I did it. She’d cry alot because of this. Anyhow, we are working things out as much as we can. Back to my point: I love writing, story telling, and film making. I write and mix music also. My brother went to school to learn video so he’s jacked about this stuff too. It’s just in our family and we’re always in some dead end job because we feel like there’s no market for this stuff. At 50… a switch went off and I realized… I CAN DO THIS! You can too! Let’s go!
Wow bro your idea is great and you should need to startore working on it as many kids got abused and become mentally ill sometimes do your best bro you have a large experience so influence people ❤
There are so many self help gurus out there that, at their core, are just motivational speakers. So many people I know, including myself, don't necessarily lack motivation we just don't know where to start. Birth charts, IKIGAI wheels, therapy, motivational books, positive self talk, etc It really doesn't mean much when you're stuck in a wheel. I'm definitely reading Mastery. Having some place to start, even if it doesn't lead anywhere right away is a lot better than just running blindly in any direction.
Sounds and Harmonies have always been my thing. I never realized this was a legit type of “intelligence.” I remember going to Sam Goody, as a kid& getting tapes or CD 😂 when those came in; rejoicing in opening the cases, like it was Christmas every weekend to read and sing along with the lyrics to my favorite songs, for hours upon hours on end. Making mixtapes from Recording songs off the radio on my little brown Fisher Price tape recorder and tapes I’d make blank if I didn’t have any blank tape made that way. From 8traks to Disco Duck Disney vinyl album to Radio Show DJ, playing all my favorite MP3 when AOL came to be ❤❤❤ Rhythms and Beats have always spoken to me.
I spent so much of my life (the first 35 years) doing and wanting things simply because my parents and society told me to do and want them, and angrily rejected anything I had an authentic positive response to, that I'm a bit at a loss as to what I really want anymore. But at least I'm aware that I need to keep searching and experimenting with different ideas and activities. Thanks, Robert. Your books have been helpful.
My life purpose is to have no purpose. I am succeeding beyond my wildest dreams. I just live in the moment and totally rely on luck, karma, and fate. I've really enjoyed the journey.
@@melaniagheorghe9256 - One of my friends, 53, has sought "his purpose," all of his life. It's been a total waste of time. Soon he will be dead and I will live to 100. My advice, forget all of that psychobabble and just stay in the moment; today. The Bible says, "Man makes many plans but God directs his path." You can't fight God. Go with the flow. Let today's trend be your friend.

Without love, there is no joy; Without joy, there is no creation; Without creation, there is nothing. Therefore, love is the force that creates the universe.
When I was a Kid, I used to imagine fantasy worlds all the time. I stopped playing with other kids, kind of became anti social. But today I do 3d animations. It is the thing that makes me happy above else. Also I am a chemical engineering, because I want to create my own company. I love the creation part, imagining, mixing.. It gives me happiness to make dreams a reality.
Thank you Sir for dedicating your life to making people better through your books. I had my epiphany after reading Mastery last year and I'm eagerly anticipating your next book ( The law of the Sublime ).
When I was in kindergarten, I was so proud that I was the first kid in my class to ride a two wheeler without training wheels. A few years later, I was planning bike rides to see how far I could go. On vacations I was always somehow able to find a bike to ride, and I'd plan out some type of challenging bike ride for myself. In 5th grade, I bought a new bike ($200) for myself using allowance money I had saved up. Fast forward 40 years, and after a long career in engineering and program management, I quit my corporate career to start my own cycling coaching business. The force driving me to do it was something I couldn't resist. I'm now about to launch one of the most innovative cycling coaching programs that I'm aware of in this industry. It's crazy when I think about it all!
That is so cool Erik. I was just recalling at nursery when all the other kids would go and play together in the playground, I couldn't wait to get out there and practice riding the two wheeler. I'd never even ridden a bike without training wheels but I'd be on that bike day after day trying to ride it in the playground and I'd have dreams every night where I was able to ride it...... I'd always prefer to be alone and investigating something or learning a skill than to be wasting my time with the other kids.
Robert, you are an absolutely incredible communicator. I believe you're more than just a writer. You have achieved a level of understanding in this life that many will never comprehend or ever experience. Your commitment to sharing the existential distinctions and nuances of life with us is greatly appreciated. Thank you for being an inspiration to me and so many others for years to come. Please keep sharing!
Robert, that stroke could have killed you. But it didn't. Rather, you are still with us, smiling at us and sharing your wisdom and infectious curiosity. Blessings to you and wishing you continued strength and peace of mind. Daniel, from Sweden.
I can wholeheartedly crown you as the most influential Author of my time , your work is a oasis in this desert of a world, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I've always known I've been very compassionate and empathetic. I've always seen key points in my life that always pointed out I'm super empathetic and sensitive to the pain and suffering of others. That's how I learned I want to he a physical therapist. The fact that I will help others heal and live a happier life drives me. That's what I'm in college for. That's my life's work. Thank you for everything you do. Ur books have saved my life
I wish I had found you 5 years ago when I was stick in a deck chair with depression for 3 years!!! I nearly died. Both internally and externally. My "mind was rotting"! Looking at my past life through the Robert Greene lens has helped me understand the short comings of my perspective. I won't ever be depressed for this and it's because I found my direction naturally after a huge depressive period. It all started with a perspective change and by starting something fulfilling. Thank you!
You are one man I look upto... At any point - When I need clarity - couple of your pages, couple of your video.... things will start emerging. Thank you for everything Mr. Greene.
Great talk Robert! As a spiritual ( not religious ) mentor for 15 plus years, I've been trying to help people realize these most important points in life. Most people want to be our do whatever everyone else is doing sadly focusing on others purposes... being sheeple instead of their own true self. I'm grateful for your books and talks as they have helped me to better help others. To inspire the awe in each other is so important in this world. Thank you. 😉
Robert is an inspiration to all those who come in contact with him. We just can't thank you enough. May God/Evolution(or whatever created us) bless you
Much gratitude Robert. Your books along with some other self help books helped me find myself as a man and human at 25, haven’t looked back since. Peace and much love
I have recently become obsessed with Roberts books, so many truth i have never learned anywhere else before, my life could have been very different if I found about him earlier.
Subscribed after watching this video. I don't know you but I know you're right about finding your path. It's all energy connected to the heart - when you have that feeling of aliveness - pay attention - that is where the answer lies.
❤❤❤❤👍👍👍Robert Greene is a god and his books are scriptures .I wish this great man had an idea of how his books are very popular on the streets of Accra-Ghana
I so much like and appreciate Robert Greene that it will be a dream come true to see him in person. I really appreciate your desire to uplift the less privileged. Thanks Robert
I learn so much from you, Robert. I heard and read repeatedly what you have said since I completed my 30 year cycle, my big life journey, my Odyssey and had to lay down and "die". It's been 5 years now that I'm back to my roots, back in Greece. This is what I realised my dear friend and big brother. Transformation Starts With Weakening Transformation begins with disability, it takes temporary weakening, disarming and disengagement at a certain level - complete immobility at one level - in order to activate and mobilise upward forces to complete a process of upgrading to the next level of capability. When we fight all of this, we are fighting transformation, upgrading. So we fight evolution. So we fight life. So we have chosen death. Life is evolution. When a cycle is completed there are dramatic changes and transformation. Because it wants an upgrade of the system. This requires a mind, a philosophy, a mindset that integrates uncertainty into an intelligence superior to the personal and collective. Whatever starts with philosophy, gives birth, mentality, activity, results and ends in a new way of life. Call it the new life style. Big hug, all the best to you, relax and enjoy, my friend! From Athens
Hi Mr Greene, thank you so much for your books. Discovered 1st book concise version of the 48 laws in 2012 at Kinokuniya bookstore, and bought every book since. You enlightened me alot and shine a torch of introspection and understanding. Especially areas that was like a mental knot to me, I couldn't figure out why things worked as such, and as such running in circles. through your detailed examples and illustration, helped to unpack those questions and got answers from your books! Like many of your readers you have touched us. Greatly helped my career and brought understanding to my Brother who is now in university. Thank you again Sir and I wish you continued good health and happiness!
This is eye opening...I am not an intellectual or college graduate... but this make alot ..Sense... I wish i learned these skills 20 years. ago.. thank you Robert Greene. Make me realize what skills i lack. This is motivation retrain my social skills... Mr. Robert Greene I will take your advice and read book... this is definitely blowing my mind... because I come from working class background... I never pay attention to life goals... or cared about the future... thank you for giving me a new direction in life.. thank you...
I’ll be honest when people talk about purpose they always say find something you’re interested in, good at, or passionate about but I always find myself pondering those things to the point to where I can’t choose because there’s many options but one thing I love about your video is that the title itself brings a new meaning to what we would consider to be our calling. Well when you said that it can’t be something you’re half interested in I thought we’ll your purpose is most likely something you do everyday with ease it’s as if you would rather do that then anything else. Now what I want is my own business… doing what exactly well I may goid at writing, rapping, dancing, drawing but none of those things get me up in the morning. Mainly because I see them as hobbies that one day can be more but what I do take seriously it feels like a full time job but every-time I’m reminded of my vision and it’s the exact reason why I no longer need to figure it out. Because I already figured it out when I started this channel. ❤
So important to have guidance in your youth and support thru out your early years.Life gets in the way and becomes the distraction instead of the dream you wish it could be.
Robert I'm just Out of Words!! I can't thank you enough for creating this beautiful channel and guiding youngsters through life in such an awesome way!! Absolutely Worthy ❤❤❤
48 and Mastery are by far my 2 favorite. 48 is Machiavellian, amoral, and Mastery is like a more in-depth version of Gladwell's Outliers. I enjoyed them both, and did read them cover to cover.
Robert Greene I’m going to meet you veryyy soon because I believe in myself and my art and wish to share my story with you hence I am manifesting because you have COMPLETELY changed my life ! My fellow tribesman we think alike and I’m glad to call you my favourite author. God bless take care peace and love 🌻
Thank you for this Robert. I am 24 years of age and have been searching for some time for my passion. I know you say that we all have one and we haven’t been looking hard enough, but I really don’t think I have ever had a lasting passion for anything in particular. Even as a child, I don’t remember much but I was never fascinated by anything to my memory. I talked to my mother and she said the same, that I just enjoyed and loved a broad range of things. Now as an adult, I still enjoy different things like sports, gaming, documentaries, philosophy etc but nothing stands out, and I go through phases. I still have this desire in me to be great at something, but I come up empty every time, including following the steps you suggested. Is it possible to just not be particularly good at/fascinated by anything? It feels like a lesser existence than those excelling in their fields and loving life plus feeling fulfilled because of it. I have deluded myself into thinking I could be a master of all sorts, from an astronaut to a professional athlete, only to find it was a phase of desperation and probably not truly what I want. I’ll keep trying I guess.
To answer my own question, of course it’s possible to live a life without true purpose or fulfilment. That’s what the majority of the world does and society wouldn’t function if we were all masters. Masters are masters because they are the top 1% or less. I guess that’s my answer…
Same....I have so many interests as well. I figured out that the common theme is I like to learn and challenge myself, as well as, investigate in search of the truth about different matters to find the optimal solution. And I prefer to live a life of balance and peace.
I'm around your age and in the same situation. As a younger kid I had different things that interested me and I still do some of them but none really give me any immense joy or feeling of a purpose. I've always thought that I have to be something amazing and being average mentally hurts me. The one thing I try to do is travel to places I've never been like new states hoping that it will change something in me but it never does. I know there's probably more engaging and getting involved that I have to do to actually bring change about but I just can't ever get the real urge to do so. Or find the meaning to do so.
Thank you so much Robert….I think you are the greatest writer of our time, For what you have discovered about human nature and life…..”MASTERY” as you have helped us to understand is the only true purpose of life….So thank you
I’m 60 years young and just changed my career from hourly to full commission and face to face to remote. I have a passion for animals and children. I am home now so I can finally have my dog. I am passionate about helping foster children going forward. Thank you ,Robert, for this green flag confirming I’m on the right path. ❤
Thanks Robert for helping us to find out our life's task. I'm giving a deep dive into 48 laws and I love your book so much, you are a real writer with real words
thank you Robert ! this discussion is so interesting and helpful ! I am lost because of falling into the routine of my life and became lazy , accepting this boring and dead life. but now i want something more. like passion, feeling alive , something! I like this important tip you said. playing like a detective to find out and dig up all those things forgotten to find our true self and passions. i have followed what my parents told me even if everything inside me was revolting and wanting something else. 40 years later I wake up. feels a bit late. but I just quit my job to take the time to find myself and my purpose to enjoy life ! thank you !
Thank you Robert -- I don't think the story of your love for words is stupid or trivial and I apprecaite all the work you've done to help people find their way in life, god bless you 🙏
Great video. you've remind me of what someone once said "The mind is the man, the poor is in it and the rich is it too". This sentence is the secret of most successful investors. I once attended similar and ever since then been waxing strong financially, and i most tell you the truth..investment is the key that can secure your family future.
Starting early is the best way of getting ahead to build wealth, investing remains a priority. I learnt from my last year's experience, i am able to build a suitable life because I invested early ahead this time.#
Yeah investment is the key to sustaining your financial longevity but venturing into any legitimate investment without a proper guidance of an expert can lead to greater loss too
I'm way beyond THRILLED that you have a UA-cam channel Robert! I'm such a fan ! Read 48 laws and listened on audio repeatedly to it on audio. Just bought and reading Laws of human nature now! 🥰🥰
I just have brought one of your book (mastery) for the first time and I started to reading it and today just now I happened to watch your content for the first time on youtube.. I didn't search for anything it just came on my way and after watching this I felt a bit shocked by the fact that how come I never came across of your content before 🤔 Btw, in this video I got to realize couple of things.. I wish I could have watched it 2-3 years back when I was really lost and didn't have a clue about my life and I was so desperate to find out something that would go with my interest in life and align with my emotions!! And now I am 25 and by God grace I found something interesting to do and with this I became hopeful about my life!!!!!! 🔔🔔But, I am having a problem which I'm struggling to get rid of this" now I know what I want to do and what is important to me but I am not being able to focus on it single mindedly.. I am dwelling between my family business and my thing and I know that in this way I'm falling behind from my goal and I'm not improving on it as I should!"🔔🔔 I know my problem but I can not making a decision 😔
I have to say the only reason I discovered this author is because I was so lost and wondering what is my purpose or who am I really. I did a personality test and that led me to typology and then eventually to Robert greene who funny enough is the same personality type as me. An infp. Now while this has helped me its also good to note personality tests can be not 100 percent accurate especially if you don't answer the questions truthfully. That said if you read about carl jung and myer Briggs and personality types it can really be an eye opener. And it was for me. It helped me steer me onto the right path and taught me that there is nothing wrong with me at all I just to work on myself. Now it is good to note don't get too wrapped in personality type it can warp your mind a little especially if you end up mistyping yourself but honestly Robert Greene offers great advice. I would recommend his books highly if anything else just to gain insight. 😊😊😊
I once watched a video of yours, Robert (I don't remember which one was it); where you suggested that people shouldn't follow their passion because that would not be necessarily a good idea. And I thought, "well thank you very much for your advice but I am actually going to follow my passion no matter where it takes me". But watching this video I say I completely agree with your message. Though I think purpose and passion go together, and they bring the fruit of life, which is the meaning. Where there's a purpose, there's an unquestionable passion, the "personal truth" that Kierkegaard talked about, "the truth for which I'm willing to live and die".
Great comments, 👍 from NZ.
Hi 👋🏽 please advise
This is beautifully written. Thank you!
Robert Green definitely redefines self-awareness, fear, empathy and many other things. He gets to the root of my deepest problems/issues, helps me know that it's okay to touch them, and guides me to look at them through a different lens. Ultimate #goat and so grateful to be alive during his lifetime
Couldn't have said it better. 100% agree
@odyssey noone
Perfectly written, I am grateful I found this piece in the comments section.

Your story was amazing to read thanks for sharing!
@David Cantu i find your story to be really inspiring. can you give a few examples of the most influential books you had read
Dude, you’re a force. Keep going, I can’t wait to hear about your accomplishments one day. 🤙
I'd like to meet you someday, bro
Do whatever you want, but do not help install any transnational government, and do not use CRISPR technology or gene editing to help solve climate change. Those are not real solutions. Thank you

I want to hug you Robert for your generosity ans help towards humanity. Carl Jung, Jordan Peterson and you with your beautiful mind and books are the reasons why i decided to study psychology in France. Thank you so nuch Robert !
Welcome to France! On est toujours à votre service.
I’m similarly inspired good luck

For some strange reason I've been watching your videos lately. I seen you on a show and like for week I've been watching your videos. I been wanting to right a book about my trauma events in my life just don't really know how to start. I hope you everything is going well with you and your situation. Keep the positive attitude you have!
Background “music” is maddening.Detracts from Greene’s message.
100% agree
YES
For me too. As much as I enjoy listening to Robert, I couldn't stand it anymore after 9 minutes. I had to stop.
Its okay… but you focus on his message… did you listen to him on headphones or phone speaker 😅
Yes 😢
Great story!
what a beautiful story. thanks for sharing
Wow - you tell stories well - do you blog?
A relationship with god huh?
I'm 30 years old, after a big failure in my first job the 48 laws of power helped me get on the right path.
I'd say the truth is that music isn't your calling.
I became a writer at age 61 in Bogotá, Colombia. It has been my way to overcome my reality as immigrant. It has been my way to protest elegantly and reach the World 🌎
Thank you for saying this 😊
"...to protest elegantly " what a beautiful expression !!
Hi Dickie I would love to connect with you.
Awesome! I am 68 and I feel the same way. It has reminded me of the creative side that was quashed because 'you can't make a living that way'. Onward!!!!! Good luck!
really enjoy listening to the channel's sharing. very good, very meaningful and very profound. Great
I know you replied a year ago but I am curious what you would have done. Animals are the only thing I''ve had a consistent draw to. And now that I'm 45 I don't know how I can work with them differently than I have in a position that can pay well enough. Open to your thoughts and anyone elses.
It's the activity that lights you up... it's a type of problem you love to find the solutions for without the paycheck...
Right there with you! I am in a WAY too detail/technical field for someone who explores nature and creates from what I see and feel. Good luck!
It's been a year, how's this tracking for you?
@@Onthe9thlife3730 Feels like a full recovery - I found it's very important to design a solid daily structure and stick to it. More consistent morning exercise, weights, walk, and a little intense cardio. Giving up even occasional alcohol and intermittent fasting and limiting processed carbs and sugar makes a huge difference. I built up a solid portfolio and motivated tackling several fields of work now. Cutting out toxic environments is necessary, affirm your boundaries but if the company culture still refuses... time to go. Life is short, other companies need your work more or perhaps you're destined to be an entrepreneur.
really enjoy listening to the channel's sharing. very good, very meaningful and very profound. Great
How did it go?
I like the question, ‘As a child when you were alone in your room, what was your go to activity?’ I feel like that speaks volumes on your interests without having to actually think about interests. It takes us back to the foundation of what we naturally gravitated to. As an example, my go to was writing stories and creating. I lost that growing up when I became self conscious and critical of my work compared to my peers. As an adult now, I’m so lost on what to pursue as a career, this kind of opened my eyes to focus on what I cared about before I was hard on myself and my fear of anything less than perfection.
Mr Greene you have helped me in ways I could never enumerate well enough. I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Second this
My pleasure. Thank you.

Good luck

Let’s go!
Wow bro your idea is great and you should need to startore working on it as many kids got abused and become mentally ill sometimes do your best bro you have a large experience so influence people ❤
Azishe baba!
@@UzairKhan-b1w I really appreciate that! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm not crying, I'm just.. ok I'm crying. Thank you Robert.
This makes you cry? In what sense like happiness or excitement?
There are so many self help gurus out there that, at their core, are just motivational speakers. So many people I know, including myself, don't necessarily lack motivation we just don't know where to start.
Birth charts, IKIGAI wheels, therapy, motivational books, positive self talk, etc
It really doesn't mean much when you're stuck in a wheel. I'm definitely reading Mastery. Having some place to start, even if it doesn't lead anywhere right away is a lot better than just running blindly in any direction.
Sounds and Harmonies have always been my thing. I never realized this was a legit type of “intelligence.”
I remember going to Sam Goody, as a kid& getting tapes or CD 😂 when those came in; rejoicing in opening the cases, like it was Christmas every weekend to read and sing along with the lyrics to my favorite songs, for hours upon hours on end.
Robert Greene is natural genius his books will be re-examined in the future
I spent so much of my life (the first 35 years) doing and wanting things simply because my parents and society told me to do and want them, and angrily rejected anything I had an authentic positive response to, that I'm a bit at a loss as to what I really want anymore. But at least I'm aware that I need to keep searching and experimenting with different ideas and activities. Thanks, Robert. Your books have been helpful.
My life purpose is to have no purpose. I am succeeding beyond my wildest dreams. I just live in the moment and totally rely on luck, karma, and fate. I've really enjoyed the journey.

@@RobertGreeneOfficial Thank YOU, Mister Greene 💎👑
Thank you Sir for dedicating your life to making people better through your books.
I had my epiphany after reading Mastery last year and I'm eagerly anticipating your next book ( The law of the Sublime ).
Wonderful to hear, thank you for reading.
He's helping me act courageously calm. It's all in the voice

Transformation Starts With Weakening
Transformation begins with disability, it takes temporary weakening, disarming and disengagement at a certain level - complete immobility at one level - in order to activate and mobilise upward forces to complete a process of upgrading to the next level of capability.

Thank you for your wisdom Robert Greene ❤️
Thank You Robert. It's such a pleasure to be able to listen to your unique perspective.
48 and Mastery are by far my 2 favorite. 48 is Machiavellian, amoral, and Mastery is like a more in-depth version of Gladwell's Outliers. I enjoyed them both, and did read them cover to cover.
Thank you Robert you are a gift to the world and young people
Robert Greene I’m going to meet you veryyy soon because I believe in myself and my art and wish to share my story with you hence I am manifesting because you have COMPLETELY changed my life !
Or find the meaning to do so.
really enjoy listening to the channel's sharing. very good, very meaningful and very profound. Great
Thank you so much Robert….I think you are the greatest writer of our time, For what you have discovered about human nature and life…..”MASTERY” as you have helped us to understand is the only true purpose of life….So thank you
I’m 60 years young and just changed my career from hourly to full commission and face to face to remote. I have a passion for animals and children. I am home now so I can finally have my dog. I am passionate about helping foster children going forward. Thank you ,Robert, for this green flag confirming I’m on the right path. ❤
This is true. I used to play teacher when I was younger
40 years later I wake up. feels a bit late. but I just quit my job to take the time to find myself and my purpose to enjoy life ! thank you !
I literally cried we he mentioned his childhood. Because it triggered childhood memories of my own.
I'm 40 and just now figuring it out. It's amazing 😍 I have so much passion for what I've figured out!
I learnt from my last year's experience, i am able to build a suitable life because I invested early ahead this time.#
Yeah investment is the key to sustaining your financial longevity but venturing into any legitimate investment without a proper guidance of an expert can lead to greater loss too
you're right Forex trading is surely a lucrative way to invest whether you want growth, leverage, stable income or something in between.
yeah for sure, honestly I made 62,800 dollars within few days of trading with Bit coin
It's really profitable for me and I will encourage anyone interested should invest in it now 💯💯
I so powerfully needed to hear this. This is an understatement pointing at such a deeper truth. Thank you for what you do.
I'm way beyond THRILLED that you have a UA-cam channel Robert! I'm such a fan ! Read 48 laws and listened on audio repeatedly to it on audio. Just bought and reading Laws of human nature now! 🥰🥰
I love you, Robert Green !
I just have brought one of your book (mastery) for the first time and I started to reading it and today just now I happened to watch your content for the first time on youtube.. I didn't search for anything it just came on my way and after watching this I felt a bit shocked by the fact that how come I never came across of your content before 🤔
Btw, in this video I got to realize couple of things..
I am dwelling between my family business and my thing and I know that in this way I'm falling behind from my goal and I'm not improving on it as I should!"🔔🔔
I know my problem but I can not making a decision 😔
YOU ARE, ROBERT, A GREAT EXAMPLE TO ME. THANKS.
I really appreciate the way you explained this question in this video!
Thank you for changing my life for the better
Mine was drawing and write a story, and in my teens rapping and producing, but composing music takes me to another world.
You Are Right God Bless U Robert I Apologize
I once watched a video of yours, Robert (I don't remember which one was it); where you suggested that people shouldn't follow their passion because that would not be necessarily a good idea. And I thought, "well thank you very much for your advice but I am actually going to follow my passion no matter where it takes me".
But watching this video I say I completely agree with your message. Though I think purpose and passion go together, and they bring the fruit of life, which is the meaning. Where there's a purpose, there's an unquestionable passion, the "personal truth" that Kierkegaard talked about, "the truth for which I'm willing to live and die".
you're a genius Robert! This is gold! Brief and concise👍
