I just don´t understand how Tammy haven´t started going to a psychologist yet. She needs mental support and mental health in order to get her body to be healthy
I’m a southerner and people where I live don’t think that way at all hahaha!
@@brynnie. I agree with you psychologist is expensive but surgery is still much more expensive(unless the show is paying for them).. Really hope for Tammy to look at a Psychologist... They will affected since yong as a twin, her sister have got a husband and a child to motivate her and support her.. whereas for her she need to support Herself mentally.. which is hard when u don't know the root cause of the problem. ☹️
@Mai Lunar I’m a Kentuckian and that likely isn’t the reason at. The cost on the other hand? That’s probably it.
@Mai Lunar That’s exactly what Amy says. They were taught to suppress everything and that therapy was a waste of time/not needed.
Cost. I'm positive it's the cost.
I do not want to sound uncaring, but the entire family must come together and lose the weight from all of them.
Perhaps they need to in a controlled environment where they can get the medical and psychological assistance.
I think it would definitely help if they all did it together, maybe both of them would feel less like they're fighting alone
But then they would lose weight and stop being on TV
@@shasha1545 definitely
It really does need to be a full family thing. They all need re-educated about food, nutrition and wellness. Clearly their mothers habits have passed on to all the siblings. I'd love to see them all fit and healthy
SPOILERS
Im caught up on szn 2 of this show and their brother chris decided on his own to lose weight and he has !
Okay, so Amy wants to “enjoy” the cravings of pregnancy but girl if you keep doing that then there might not even be a baby. She’s still recovering from surgery and so for the sake of herself and her child she needs to eat more carefully.
Riiiighttt??? I keep thinking ‘but you’re not doing this for the baby’
@@missanthropocene2020 been pregnant 3 times and it’s easy to be selfish. “Eating for two” is such an easy cloak to hide behind
Honestly! Like, bitch enjoy it now then because this isn't gonna last more than a month if you keep it up. Do you wanna enjoy your pregnancy, or your healthy baby. Pick one.
And she did it all to herself. She had no right to make any excuse. From here on out, she's ALIVE for that baby.
That's what they told *me* when I got diagnosed with depression. I'm not even overweight. Or pregnant. That's literally a fact of life. Have a baby? It's no longer about you. It's about that fresh life you've brought into this world. And they're going to learn from you. Jesus.
And look at the family! Yeah they support each other, but they're enabling each other too. You can't make a lifestyle change that drastic in that environment. She needs rehab.
“you have two women jn south korean worried for you and i’ve never been to Kentucky!”
She's so cute lol
Hilarious 😂
I’m in Kentu-
LMAO-
@Esther Huai me too
I think Tammy keeps putting bandaids on a deep wound. She needs counseling. She needs healing, she needs to learn her value and she needs help forming a path to achieve her dreams. I truly wish her the best she can get out of this world. She just needs to believe she can make that happen. Wishing you all good health and love.💐
Exactly
I was annoyed because ethe counseling they did had Tammy there as well. She should have went alone
Had amy there***
that the part that boggles me. I think that Doctor Now from My 600 lb life would have referred her to mental health counseling by now.
Well said 👍🏽
Dr Proctor is just SO GOOD at explaining things to soften the blow to Tammy.
Dr. Proctor has great bedside manner. He's kind, but firm, and that's so important, especially for something like food addiction.
I wonder how she would be with Dr Now🤔
So HOT!
@@KaeWinters this comment
I agree he seems really kind and compassionate ♥️♥️
I hate when people say, “The baby wants...” like c’mon. What does that baby know about sour gummies? 😭
Fr that like the doctor said, the baby wants to be fed with nutrients that’s it
I know! Its not like the baby can taste the food anyway, he just recieves nutrients through the umbilical cord 🤣 he's definitely not sucking on sour gummies
@@Paulismyhero777 EXACTLY they can’t taste anything yet, they barely are aware of their own existence, how are they telling you what they want? 😭
Ive had four children and never gained more than the recommended. You can even barely eat for the first three months cause you’re so nauseous and for the last two months u cant eat too much cause the baby is so huge
@@Paulismyhero777 theres no nutritional value of sour gummies. Maybe she is really craving fresh fruit or fresh juice.
i really wish amy would realize that for her to "do everything for her baby" she needs to eat more healthy and make better decisions for a safe pregnancy, because if she continues this way there's a large chance there won't even be a baby anymore. i also really really hope for her child's sake she isn't one of those mothers that allow their children to get obese and she looks out for their weight/health.
Yeah I hope so too. I really hate people that just keep feeding and feeding their kids until they’re obese, and then the poor kid has to deal with their own issues 😓
Right...I remember when I was pregnant...my best friend used to call me the "healthiest pregnant person ever"...because I incorporated hella fruits and vegetables in my diet...and walked 30 minutes EVERYDAY!!..yes...i ate burgers ..fries...cakes...and my main thing was CEREAL😂😂 but there was balance.
@@virgoqueen0911 Balance is the main word... But Amy wanted to lose weight because she wanted to have a baby, now i feel like she already meet her end goal and no longer care about being healthy...
Yeah, that's what concerned me as well, that she will allow the cycle of obesity in the family to continue. It's not fair for the child to be brought into that type of environment.
Well, she thinks 70 kg is "skinny anorexic" so I got the impression that they are those type of people who think fat=healthy and normal weight=skinny.
Or at least, I think they were, but are still trying to change that mindset, since they ARE trying to lose weight.
I still can’t believe Tammy gained all that weight back during quarantine
& she still argues with Amy for gaining weight during pregnancy.. makes me so annoyed
She also gained another 50 pounds
@@queenkenzie23 yeah... it’s a way of dismissing her own problems
I can believe it. If she lost weight via dieting it makes sense as diets don’t work and she wasn’t able to walk due to the pandemic. They say u should weigh yourself often to keep your weight loss goals but even that was hard for her cause she didn’t have a scale until recently.
I can. Sit eat sit eat sit eat sit eat sit eat....
Whenever people say "I'm pregnant, I need to eat this much!" I always think "yea, but one of you is the size of a shrimp, you really do not need to eat enough food for two grown adults.
It is actually suggested that a person only needs about 200 more calories a day to keep the baby and themselves healthy. I have no idea why people think you need to eat 'for two people' once you get pregnant.(unless of course there are other health complications)
@@heyyaalll283 I’m pretty much it’s about the same amount of calories that ones supposed to eat when they’re pregnant the same as a period. If I’m not mistaken
@@Poetjjongg (Psst, hey, um... quick question... Why did no one tell me that vagina-owners are supposed to eat more calories when they're on their period? Okay, thanks, have a nice day.)
@@hauntedshadowslegacy2826 This is hypocritical since I usually feel sick and eat less, but yeah, especially iron-rich foods to make up for the blood loss.
@@heyyaalll283
Most people eat more calories than what they need so I think that recommendation is for the ideal person who is health conscious and understand their caloric intake
Isn’t Tammy being a bit hypocritical when she says we’re just trying to show Amy that the choices she’s making aren’t the right ones?
yeah, that's definitely true. however, there's a very definite need to be harsher on amy that should be stressed by everyone present, and i don't think that saying "she's being a hypocrite" can really justifiably stop tammy from stressing that point
It’s a lot easier to give others advice than apply that same advice to yourself.
I wouldn’t say it’s hypocritical. Tammy has to make serious changes. That doesn’t mean she can’t see when Amy also needs to change. It shows she cares about her sister. It would have been a terrible choice to stay silent and not back up Amy’s husband.
I feel like Tammy jumped on the opportunity to criticise someone else because the family is usually on her back
It is also easier to criticize someone because you see it more prevalent versus seeing yourself. This is what is hard with addiction
"Save her life and then slap her later" is such a mood tbh. As always love watching these and you guys are so sweet

Still trying to figure out why I'm so invested in watching the two of you watch this show. I'd never watch it on my own, but watching you two watch it is so entertaining for some reason!
same here!
I think it's nice to see them be so caring and non-judgemental. The entire series has a very calming vibe with them, besides the worry about the two sisters
Same here
same
same! i love their honest commentary on it
When Amy said "Well I don't wanna be anorexic skinny" literally triggered me. Anyone can have an eating disorder no matter their weight.
Edit: and by eating disorder, I mean anorexia as well as orthorexia, binge eating disorder, bulimia, etc.
She probably meant emaciated or very thin. in her mind anorexic=unhealthily thin
@@thriftshopghost1132 You're completely right
@A Stranger You're right.
Right? And 150 pounds for an average height woman isn't skinny, it's a healthy weight
I don't know how I can complain of not being able to gain weight when there are people out there who can't lose weight. Gaining weight is hard for me, and it's less about what foods I eat and more about how my thyroid works and how it produces too much of something
I am really shocked, but not totally suprised Tammy didn't keep the weight off. It goes deeper than food and she needs therapy and a psychologist. But I really do believe that she can make it to surgery!!
I was honestly judging these women so much before I watched the show, and now I really feel bad for judging them. It’s clear that they weren’t exactly raised with the healthiest mindsets, and that they both have some kind of depression over their weight, which in turn makes their conditions worse. I hope they get better, and can see it isn’t a straightforward process.
Not to mention they had a mother who would rather bad mouth them than support them. Their mother gave them no support even when having serious surgery. Like with all surgery, there was a risk that Amy could have died and her mother couldn't even call her, much less go down there to be with her.
Doctor Procter looked so upset when seeing to Tammy. It looks like he really cares about them getting better
I know right. And I don't think he was exaggerating about the possibility of Tammy dying within 5 years, it must be so difficult to treat uncooperative patients with totally preventable and reversible conditions like Tammy's 💔
What I don't get is why Dr Proctor was so disappointed with Amy for getting pregnant when she was on birth control. What else should she have done?
@@eleanorcooke7136 Dr. Proctor clearly told her not to get pregnant for 2 years. And her getting pregnant now is really risky. she could gain weight again or there could be complications during pregnancy. it's dangerous for her and her baby as well
@@hazraa4513 but she was doing what she could to not get pregnant, other than just not having sex for two years, what else could she have done?
@@eleanorcooke7136 i think the doctor was disappointed in her bcuz she was not careful enough. i mean she went through such a big surgery and just after 4 months she got pregnant. Dr proctor is worried about her. And it's also not totally amy's fault
This show going from 1,000 pound sisters to 1,000 pound sister.
😬
I feel like she really needs therapy. She's using her depression and feelings of abandonment as an excuse. If she sees someone who can help her work through these feelings, I think she'll be much more successful.
She does need therapy and learn to deal with these issues that contributing to the problem, but “using it as an excuse” was a little off.
Those feelings are, in fact, what got her into this situation to begin with. Extreme obesity doesn't happen on a whim. It's a traumatic thing. She does need therapy, but it's for an entirely different reason than 'using feelings as an excuse'. You'd be surprised just how much power emotions have over someone's wellbeing.
@@hauntedshadowslegacy2826 it definitely is was caused the majority of it, but she is kinda using them, and many other things, as excuses now. Sometimes you become so accustomed to something that you even begin to use it as an excuse because you can’t see them not existing.
I honestly think the way they are going about it isn’t the most effective way ... i would think if you had nutritionists and maybe her getting some psychological help could start the healing process where then she’ll be able to flourish
I agree. She needs therapy, she needs a nutritionist, she needs weekly video/in-person checkups to morally support her and also keep her on track. Tammy has already given up on herself and is constantly looking for excuses or shifting the blame (I do get it, change is hard and she can't do it on her own) so she needs a firm hand approach.
They did do that. First season you see their trip to the nutritionist. Also next epsiode you will see how Tammy acts in therapy.
@@vanessafrancis774 i think she needs individual care rather than a group session with her sister. she needs a space where she can express herself without the possibility of arguments breaking out
@@olivore224 they have to get individual therapy besides the group. We are only shown the group. But they both explain why they don't like therapy.
@@vanessafrancis774 ohh true true i forgot about the whole privacy thing whoops!

@@solsthrash2603 true, true

Yes, overall, he is a great doctor and knows what’s best for Tammy and Amy
Army 💜
Just the fact that Tammy gained wait when the pandemic hit means she stress eats. She definitely needs someone to help her with coping techniques. It's almost universal on this type of show, imo.
I feel it's more than stress eating. Like stress is a factor but her addiction is so overblown that will power is not enough. And her family history if not showing feelings really doesn't help. Like she desperately needs a clinic even if she hates it. Which I understand I've been to a mental clinic its not fun
@@missbrock3628 I probably oversimplified by saying stress eating. I mean they use food to cope with trauma.
If 2 people in South Korea would be worried about me, I would feel motivated lol
I KNOW RIGHT
That silence before the doctor congratulated them, I was super nervous lol.
They trying to help each other, but it’s like blind leading blind.
"I don't want to be anorexic skinny" says every obese person on these shows. Though I know its easy to think 150 is a small number considering you're over 300 majority of your life. And I dont think shes that tall so 150 would be average or still a bit overweight for her too but it's still an improvement.
P.s I only follow this when u guys watch it xD so keep going with these vids!
I’m 4’11 and 150 lbs because of quarantine weight. 😭 it’s definitely not skinny.
whoa your prof pic is.. legendary?
@@TheSlipperyNUwUdle I'm 5'5 and 150 lbs and it doesn't look too bad but I'm definitely not skinny
I'm 5'8 and almost 150 pounds.. BMI is shit and I look pretty skinny and fit considering I work out
@@elenag3066 yeah, like 150lbs can be skinny - that one comment kinda didn't settle right with me. it all just depends on distribution of fat/muscles and what is perceived as 'fat', 'average', or 'skinny'. i'm a 5'2ft, 128lbs asian girl, and most short asians ik are 98-115lbs. i'm 'overweight', but i have a pear body shape and i'd say i look p fit and skinny tbh lol- bmi lowkey do be a hoax tho..
I literally only watch the show with you guys 😭
Do these type of patients see any counselors/therapists also? I can’t help but think there’s emotional trauma tied to the eating if not at the root of the problem.
Later Tammy and Amy actually go to a therapist. I hope they, but especially Tammy, will have regular visits, though it seems their attitude towards therapy is not the best..
I don’t think you can get to that size without having an eating disorder. I agree that psychological help is required. I think this is missing when people consider bariatric patients
Yeah they usually do see a mental health professional before and after the surgery. In Australia it is compulsory to do so for a specified minimum number of sessions and the therapist is very involved in the process of deciding if and when a person is ready for the surgery. I watched a documentary about it - but yeah it was specific to Australia so can’t speak for the US.
When Amy said she didn't want to be anorexic skinny at 150 punds my 70kg ass almost choked
My 91 lb ass almost exploded. if 150 lbs is anorexic, what am I, a literal skeleton? LOL
although I’m pretty short and young so it balances out, i don’t have an ED lol
@@soumiu.8264 you can being anorexic at any weight it’s an eating disorder not a weight disorder
@@soumiu.8264 If you're shorter than me, you're not anorexic-skinny. I'm 4'11, and my healthy weight is between 110 and 130. Keep in mind, healthy weight is a range for each height; it ain't a single, set number for anyone.

I never take tammys side. But when Amy said " if you die in 5 years you'll miss my son's graduation." GIRL HUSH
I think she was just trying to put it into perspective for her. Ppl have been telling tammy that the obesity would kill her for years now. Some real-life examples might help her.
@@gentlechaos5911I feel that, but if just being alive isn't motivation for her, neither would that. Also I don't think Tammy cares about the baby at all

Oh my, you are so right how Did that slip my mind 😂
True. I might have bought about 5% of the excuse if she said the atmosphere of 2020 compounded her mental health burdens. Once she noticed she was gaining weight, she probably got disheartened & resorted to feeling "better" by eating.

Girl fr😩 like dang
Well, that's not to say you're inherently fat. It depends a lot on how tall you are and your regional lineage (where your ancestors primarily come from). At my 4'11 stature, 150 would make me somewhat overweight, but not obese (yes, I'm an adult, I'm stuck at this height permanently, and the weather sucks down here). For the average, not-almost-medically-recognized-in-the-dwarfism-range, Western adult, 150 is generally a sweet spot. Folks above 6' should probably weigh more, though.
@@hauntedshadowslegacy2826 4'11 at 150 is over 30 BMI so that would normally be obese no?
