Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

Francisco Olvera It seems like each figure is based on a particular art style. This Harley Quinn figure is based off an older series than what the comic Superman and Batman are based on.

The Harley from Mad Love (I have the actual comic right here with me) has thin legs and a big ass too (🎶 Baby got Back plays in the background 🎶). In facts, this action figure is very in line with that version, knees included. The exception are the heels. I wonder what's the reason for putting those...
Outside of size might be the best retail store released Harley IMO. I love that she has double jointed elbows. Kinda feel all figures in this class should have double jointed elbows n knees.
I saw an Arkham game version of Harley that looked pretty close, just a little less detailed

They look nice but imagine how much money McFarlane would make if they were scaled to legends and DC collectibles
Sizing and some design issue aside, I'm f'n loving this new line. They definitely took some creative liberties to the figures (possible engineering reasons too), but you know what cartoon they're from, so that's good enough for me. Factor in size, price point, accessories and general availability...they've earned my dollars. Look forward to their next line, and hopefully they'll fix things with their next release.
This “animated series” Batman is a joke. The DC Collectibles animated figures aren’t perfect but they’re far superior, man. Yeah they’re not articulated that well, but they actually _look like the source material._
The Batman’s eyes are too small, too sunken in for some reason, his head SHAPE is entirely off. And the belt and proportions are closer to the New Batman Adventures design than the Animated Series, but even for that more stylized look it’s too cartoony. I don’t have it in hand so Idk how fun it’d be to pose em around but the figure just doesn’t look good enough to justify a purchase from me

Batman's body mold/scale is for Batman Adventures and not BTAS.
Utility belt is not for BTAS.

Literally the only two comparisons between the figure and the source is the colors and that it is Batman. They were obviously making a New Adventures Batman instead of the original Animated Series.
Harley looks great. I'm sold.
Batman’s head is horrible. His chest logo is way to stretched out across his chest. Harley looks way off and her ankle joints are awful. Green Lantern’s shoulder joints are terrible. Superman is also ridiculously too small compared to everyone else. Not a good showing at all.

Pros, the paint apps are fairly on point, but the limited articulation and size comparison make these a pass from me.
1) I feel like this whole line has problems, but I think its growing pains. In a few more releases they'll be a lot better with proportions and such.
2) Not to sound like a weirdo talking about a toys butt, but thats a really cool way to do the bum on harley. Most figures end up with wierd gaps and such.

I like the way Harley Quinn looks but she is to big compared to Batman, the unpainted lip, the knees bending back and the huge ball joints at the feet are unforgivable and completely ruin the figure for me. I preordered Batman but I'm starting to regret it, the hindered articulation, the to deep small eyes, the big ball joints at the wrists, the single jointed elbows with the ratchet articulation showing again ruin the figure. I still believe that McFarlane Toys can turn this around, they have to pay heed to us collectors and address the issues were reporting. Because of what Todd McFarlane did for the action figure collecting hobby back in 1995 , even with unforgivable mistakes, I'm going to buy animated Batman, animated Superman, Hellbat Suit Batman and Unchained Armor Superman, prove me right on the next wave... please. Thanks for the review Shartimus.

I would never spend any money on McFarlane
The Batman is actually not accurate to the BTAS design. It actually seems to be the redesigned look of the New Batman Adventures cartoon follow up, simply colored as the Animated Series Bats. You can tell by the head shape, the cape draping over the shoulders, the utility belt pouches, and the body shape is more like the latter part of the DCAU.

The only DC line that was worthy of our cash was Icons, to bad the scale was short, and in the pettiness of DC they refuse to use the Marvel Legends one. its a shame by the time i have the monetary stability to star my collection the line was dead and the figures that i wanted were stupid overprice.

The Batman animated series figure does not look like the original and look at the card it does not look like that , the figure looks like the update Bruce timm style same style of face and body like jl style it's cartoon accurate on series when Tim Drake join the Batman adventures

Personally, I am passing on all of these, I just don't like them. I have seen all but the to armored figures, and the Batman who Laughs at retail, and they just don't look good to me.
Havent seen them in the wild yet but i know ill have a good laugh when i do.
The comic Superman is actually really nice in hand, but so far that’s the only one I really like.

The Harley Quinn is the only thing I've seen so reminiscent of the animated series even tho they screwed the pooch in a lot of ways. Tiny waist and thicc is on point imo.

I’ll stick with DC collectibles. I finally saw these in stores and they are not my cup of tea. I don’t mind 7” scale at all, but these are way too big!! They look like BAF figures. Essentials is still what I’ll collect. Not to mention McFarlane company doesn’t do articulation well. There’s joints that don’t fully function. And from what the MK figures gave us, I’ll stay far away from this line.

I don't think his legs were that skinny in the animated series.
Read Mad Love instead of sticking to the animated series only, and you'll see that her legs are as skinny as this version. They even have the same knee pose. Mad Love is the comic from Paul Dini and Bruce Timm that introduced her to the DC canon outside BTAS...

I disagree. Batman looks like New Adventures more than animated. DCC versions look way better IMO. Especially the expressions pack versions. Just not feeling these.

I have the animated Batman figure and i love it, i dont have much negative things to say against it. And the most important part for me is that it looks amazing on my shelf, and that Batman figure really does look amazing!

I mean, no offense, but I think it's often easier for you to overlook the flaws and defects because you get them for free. In general, I think it often influences the reviews I see on YT.
And those older DC Collectibles figures look nicer.
Original DC collectibles TAS Batman remains undisputed as the best TAS figure ever.
Am I the only one who doesn't think that this Batman figure looks like his BTAS design? It looks more like the redesign from The New Batman Adventures. It's like they were planning to make a TNBA Batman figure, then suddenly changed their minds after sculpting and molding and just slapped on a BTAS paint job.

the bat's looks awful.. the fat body type of the horrible new batman adventures cartoon with the colors of the amazing batman TAS.. harley quinn looks.. somewhat passable... though something about her face is off.. two figures to pass on

@@mikecahall542 more like what was right about.. ugly character designs (all the girls looked like short 12 year olds, mr freeze has his body gone, baby doll was nightmare fuel, batman looked fat with a huge chin, joker was a mess etc) and none of the stories were good.. new batman adventures took everything good about Batman TAS destroyed it.... took until Justice League the animated series for the creators to fix a lot of the character designs and get things back on track (except joker who was fixed in batman beyond return of the joker)

@@adampoole948 You must not talk to many people, because where I come from on the internet TNBA is well liked and respected. It's also storywise one of the most solid seasons. Designs are subjective and I respect the fact you don't like them, I don't like the joker or Catwoman ones either. But I like the rest.

Long time fan shart, but I gotta say...you like everything man. You should be a little more like Anthony. Just because you get them for free, doesn’t mean you have to say you “like them”. Everything about them suck! I won’t accept these even if they were free. Such a disappointment.
Hey Shartimus, when you get around to doing the review for McFarlane's The Batman Who Laughs after the break, could you throw in some pics of him in dynamic fight poses? Not many reviewers have really shown off how far you can pose the guy and I feel like you're one of the few reviewers who's really good at it.
I just got th is Batman like 15 min ago from target and his foot already fell apart lol. The figure isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I have the dc collectable versions too but haven't taken them out of the box, so this guy will be my out of box figure on a shelf. The other Batman and superman figures don't even match each other. Superman actually looks like a decent figure but I'm a Batman guy and that other Batman figure just doesn't make sense to me. He has a tiny, animated version head with a big realistic body. Mcfarlane rushed these out and they just seem cheap

The Harley figure is bothering me on every front. As animated series, she's bad. Off scale. Face looks off. As the comic she is WAY off. I hope they try to forget this one and give her both a good comic version and a good animated series version. This does neither well.
