- This Harbor Frieght Predator 6500 was a facebook marketplace buy at 160$ on my way to Texas city for a fishing trip i picked it up and here is the breakdown of the carb. Was very easy compared to my Generac 8000 i had in the past.

Thanks for the video. I have the same generator and this was my first time cleaning a carburetor and it started on the first pull after the cleaning. I had a very fine/thin wire that was handy to clean the small holes.
Nicely done. I'm not much of a mechanic but you make it look easy. :)
With a 10mm socket, a small flat head screwdriver, a 13mm socket and a Philips head screw driver in 15min u could have it clean and back running I had a generac and it was harder because of the way it had a shield infront of it
@@BigSaltwaterFishing I like the way the Predator generator is more open to get to stuff. I could have spent more money on a more compact generator but if anything went wrong it would be harder to work on. :)

Was the original they usually don’t fall apart I have done 3 different gens now and some lawn mowers they still kept in good condition but Amazon would be a quick purchase one
Can you please elaborate on the replacement carb you mentioned in a reply you made, to turn it into a LP generator? I bought the same generator 4 months ago, shame on me for not getting the extended warranty, but the thing won't start now. I was thinking of converting it to LP or preferably tri-fuel (gasoline, LP (Propane), and Natural Gas) assuming I can get it running again and it's not a $650 paper weight. LP would be a definite plus as the camper I bought it to power has two exterior LP hookups and only use LP as a backup for the water heater or in rare occasions actually use the stove in the camper, "desperation" really has set in to get dinner cooked.

I have that same generator and if you do not run it every couple of months for at least 20 minutes or so you will have this problem.
Keith Kellum I am thinking of converting to propane so when I get home I can burn some clean non liquid gas through it to dry the reservoir out for storage
