There may some merits of GameCube or Wii HDMI adapters since a lot of new TVs (often Smart TVs don't include component inputs and component cables for GameCube are impossible to find anyway. Plus, not everyone wants to mod their SNES or N64 (if S-Video is supported for Hyperkin). However, the official cable (and the Kaico adapter) will only work for DOL-001 consoles since the DOL-101 omits the Digital AV port due to poor sales for the component cables. Alternatively, the RVL-001 Wii could be used since GameCube games (except networking or Game Boy Player) work on it although games that don't support 480p like _The Sims_ games will only run on 480i (or possibly 576i on PAL). I think UA-cam may make connection differences hard to tell due to compression, but I can see the improvement with the Kaico over the Hyperkin. The GameCube is actually a good console and had great games although it was overshadowed by the PlayStation 2 and Windows XP when it came out especially with the former. The only issue is that the games, especially Nintendo ones, tend to be expensive to buy although it can be true for some older consoles, and the GameCube (along with the Wii, Wii U, and other consoles) has a problem with counterfeit controllers on Amazon and eBay due to the original controllers being discontinued. They basically look like the Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft controllers, but these controllers tend to be made cheaply, don't last well compared to the real controller or good third-party ones, and probably might not have good battery and/or wireless performance.
Very good point on the DOL - 001 I totally forgot to mention that in the video (my bad). And yeah regarding GameCube game prices, I always jokingly say "why invest, when I can just buy Nintendo games that hold their value?" Lol Thanks for watching!
Just ordered this after i got the itch to get my old gamecube out and rebuild my zelda collection. Went to play windwaker and it looked horrible, i was just using a cheap adapter. Lesson learned.
@@DigitalCynics With the kaico adapter using a hdmi cable, does it provide audio or do I have to plug in aditional cables in the second gamecube video output(the old one) ? The mclassic should workd with the kaico, correct ? Apart from that it will look like a diving board 🤣
Which of the two HDMI adapters do YOU think looks better? Also, drop your favorite GameCube game in the comments below!
Just got the Kaico Gamecube Adapter, and it is 1000% worth it.
Kaico and Bitfunx are actually the same device with different name right?
