Yes, but leaving everything behind you have to make sure you are in a stable financial position first. It will be very stressful to realise that you have ruined your life because you wanted to travel for a bit.
It needn't be as expensive as you think. For example, I spent very little money in six weeks in Australia because I volunteered for accommodation. So, I worked a few hours in the morning and in return got free accommodation and evening meal. Saved a fortune. I saved up for three years to be able to quit my job, and travel, so you can do it, you just have to REALLY want to do it.
Do you have a Bachelor's degree? You can teach English online from any country. Also, there are startups that hire remote workers. I work online and am documenting my travels with my husband. Check out our channel 'Skye Parsons'. Good luck!
In some ways I am at the other end of what you are saying. I'm now married, working and a small daughter and very time limited. But being from the UK, My first trip was hiking around Ireland aged 18. Since then, it's been most of Southern Europe, then further to Cyprus, then further to Egypt. Then the Far East. Then Australia. I've seen so much of the world, it really changes you. Your home area seems very small and parochial. Do it. It did absolutely diddly for my resume but made me much more confident in interviews and my jobs. And it doesn't leave you. We can't do normal holidays any more. We have to go exotic. Next trip: Seychelles with our toddler. Bring it on! Tips I would give you: go veggie in India. Do your research before you go to a nightclub in Berlin with your Dad - how was I to know it was a bondage place? Go to South Africa if you like wine and red meat. If you go to LA, Stay in Santa Monica. It's lovely. Walk up a side street in Venice and it's deserted. Then get lost. When you stay in a Lapland Ice Hotel, don't drink beer as the midnight pee break involves walking through a blizzard at -40. Go to Bali. That's my number one holiday tip. It's the best place in the world. Walk around Dublin at night on your own and listen out for violins in pubs.
Tony Glenholmes I have traveled a lot too! I have a kid now and we just take her with us! She's 2! We've just started documenting through my UA-cam channel and it's the best way to look back on experiences! We live in Australia. I've done a few videos on traveling with toddlers coz it's a whole other thing, but so worth it! Keep exploring! ✌️
How great! We're going to check your channel! We're a nomadic couple and we travel full time. We quit our jobs last to follow our dream.. travel, live and work on our own terms and conditions. We don't have a base/home. Just two backpacks and two laptops... It gives us the ultimate freedom and adventure where we were looking for. We just published our first tutorial about 'how to make money and travel the world'. Check it out if you're interested. Enjoy your travel adventures! Angela & Tino
Tony Glenholmes Very inspiring! I am currently traveling as much as I can despite a full time job. But when I have a kid or two in 5-7 years, I want to take them to cool places when I do have the chance to travel. Most people where I'm from in Canada have never seen outside Florida, Cuba or Mexico, and I certainly would like to avoid falling into that trap.

My wife and I just sold all our things and began traveling this month - a little later than some (in our 30s!). It is harder to ditch the things when you've accumulated so much - including responsibilities. I appreciate how you guys are willing to talk about some of the less glamours parts of traveling and get to the "why" questions. It's something we want to do more as we record our adventures. Thanks for being real and a bit vulnerable at times. It makes your channel all the better! Keep it up!
I'm almost 48. And just starting on my adventures - I leave in 89 days for parts unknown ❤️. It's never ever too late.. it was not possible when I was younger. I am excited beyond belief - so go. Go at any age. This world doesn't care how old you are as long as you love every second you're in it 💖💖💖💖💖
I'm so excited for this series! I just finished high school and I decided not to go to university - at least not now.. So starting from September I'm going to travel, first stop Norway - can't wait to see the nature with my own eyes :)
1. Wow.. The video editing and film quality really got kicked up a notch. Love it. 2. Alex's facial expressions in the background. LOL. 3. Great reasons. Loving my life abroad.
I just want to say what an inspiration you guys are to me! I’ve been travelling a lot in the past few years and it has changed my life! It has GIVEN me life! It gives me a sense of wonder, purpose, it inspires me to kill it I’m day to day life! I have found so much of myself being away from from home! So if anyone reading this is able to travel, PLEASE DO!! ❤️✈️
YES!!!! 22 currently and happy to say I've been to a few places within the past year and am happy I found your channel! I have climbed pyramids, mellowed out at el Angel de la Independencia in el D.F. Picked out guanabana, nanchis, from fields in the state of Guerrero. Discovered the difference between traveler and being a tourist on my own this year to be exact.
I have spent the last hour watching your travel videos and I just fall in love of your creations. Please keep it going it help us to know more and just drink the knowledge of yours.
This is fantastic. I love all the cutaways to your travels. Such amazing places and they're bringing back memories for us since we've been to a lot of them as well. We're about to take a 10,000 mile road trip around the US, so we'll be using some of your road trip tips too. Life is short! Time to travel now!! -Brian
vagabrothers We're starting in San Diego and going across the South, up the East coast and then back west across the north. Zig-zagging a lot to hit everything! We're really excited about New Mexico and visiting the southern states. Daily vlogging the whole thing!
Love these types of series! It was the original How To Travel videos that first led me to your channel years ago. They are what I used primarily to plan my trip through SE Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Hope to see y'all on the road! Cheers, from Australia!
Hey. I am about to start my new life in Australia in Aug. Its my second time go oversea and also the first time go outside my country only myself. I should be worry then I see this video. So many positive thoughts you gave me. Thank you:) I hope that I can find who I truly are during the journey. And enjoy what life brings me.
Seriously your videos bring tears in my eyes. I want to travel the world so badly. I have been travelling through new zealand for 3 months and I am now working for 15 months to have enough money to travel a couple of years.
so...I have in plan to travel in 2018 around the World ...12 months,10-14 countries...8 months I've been saving money for the gear which I will use to capture every moment of the trip(drone, cameras, laptop for editing etc.)and also been learning how to edit...6 more months and let the journey begin.. 😊✌️
Hey guys! I was just on your instagram live feed Alex! Great talking to you. Travel because life is short...so true. I finally went to Europe last june-july for 2 weeks. Went landed in Canada then London, Berlin, Munich, Florence, Venice, Barcelona, Dublin, and some cities in Scotland. Que tengan un buen dia!
I'm glad you made this video because this is exactly what a lot of people need to hear. I just got back from my first backpacking trip, a month in Europe. You learn so much from traveling and the experience that you can't get from reading about it. As for the "do it now" aspect. 100%, sooner is better. My parents have always allowed us to make our own decisions with our own money (within reason) so When my sister and I told my parents we were going on a trip around Europe they asked "when? Like a year from now?" , no it was 2 months away. It was so easy to go right after our university semester ended and before starting summer work. It's easier to say your start day for work is a month later rather than asking for a month off in the middle!
I've seen this video three times already and I'm super excited for this series, I cannot wait to finally finish with all the paperwork of university to hit the road, thank you so much guys you're my lifestyle inspiration.
I look forward to this series. I've been thinking about one of those "Round The World" trips where you get a special airfare and can visit many countries. I agree that taking a couple of weeks to travel before a job is excellent advice - I've done that so I start the new job fresh and ready to go. Plus it gives me something to talk about.
Hey Hey! I'm DOING it! My reason and drive is ''I don't want to grow old thinking ''what if I had done it''. That's the thought that keeps me going after my dreams and goals, and above all, live in many different countries. Sometimes short for a few months, and sometimes longer for a year or two. I left my corporate job that I hated and now I'm able to inspire and help people to live their life to the fullest. We should NOT spend years stuck in a job or life we don't like. My video's are about traveling, but especially the ''how'', the mindset, Tips, budget, solo travel, the culture shock, etc.... You're very welcome to check it out. Meanwhile, I found you so I can start following you and share our passion. Thank you! Happy Journey everyone! Rachel
My travel career started a couple years ago. It's slow... but I'm gearing up for more and more places every year. Montreal Quebec was my first travel place solo! And San Diego was my first trip since graduation. Now I just want more. Long or short.
Great video! Looking forward to this series! I'm going on my first around the world trip in September and feel a bit panicked because I'm filming it and putting it on youtube, but I don't even have a route yet! These videos best come quick yiikes
I already had my mind set on traveling the world. I plan to be a travel journalist so that I literally can work while do what I love, while also doing trips throughout my years of college (which I'm starting next year) so that I can get the experience as well as the thrill of adventure by myself. this video was just so professionally put together, and it furthered my resolve to follow my dream. I am going to Nepal this coming spring for several weeks to explore the temples and possibly do the Everest base camp exhibition. I simply cannot wait to start my life that will bring fulfillment and purpose rather than one filled with an obsession over possession and greed. I totally will be looking out for more videos of you guys! perhaps a video on minimally backpacking would be cool. I plan to get a 80 liter backpacking pack this week that will have all my belongings so that wherever I go I can have everything I own. if I start practicing living minimalistically now it'll be a breeze when I'm out living in the world.
This is exactly what I need right now, I can't wait for the rest of the series! 😊 Ever since watching your series on Ireland it's been the top of my bucket list! Much aroha & good vibes from New Zealand ✌
I've been thinking to travel abroad once I am discharged from the Air Force. This video explains why traveling is beneficial to me in a number of ways. Thank you Alex & Marko.
I'm saving up for taking anywhere from like 6 months to a year off to travel within the next year and this video is just making me want to go and get on a flight now. You guys are the best!
As someone who's just about to turn 18 and go to Nepal alone for two weeks, I love this!! Heading to Oslo, Norway for a long weekend too (good advice for anyone in the U.K./Europe - city breaks are a super cheap and easy way to experience travel and new culture! Although Oslo's not the best if you want cheap haha). Loved this! Saved up by working every weekend for the last two years or so, and it's gonna be so worth it!! Can't wait to start my travel adventure ☀️️❤️
Bucket list is for BEFORE You Kick The Bucket. GOLD. Just got my replacement passport and already surfing momondo. Singapore, KL, Thailand! Here I come! You guys are awesome!
vagabrothers that would be awesome if you do! I've found your vlogs to be the most helpful for solo travelling and I've made some wonderful friends on the way. The fear was real but so is the sheer wonder of the experience if one gets over the fear of travel and getting out of the comfort zone.
This video is exactly why I believe we all need to travel now. A year and a half, 24 countries, and still going strong! Thanks for spreading this incredible message 👍🏼
Three months ago I arrived back home in Britain. I travelled for two years, Australia, Asia and Europe. The videos these guys uploaded helped alot and everything they say is true. I maybe be home, but I haven't stopped, I'll be on the road again soon! While living in Greece working as a tour guide I met a man Paros, he told me "the hardest part about travelling is getting started, because when you start you never stop" Book a flight, buy a visa, pack a bag! Now you started
Love that you guys started this series! I just came back from a 15 day trip around Europe and I definitely caught the travel bug so I am going to be applying your tips soon 😄 Thanks for inspiring me every week!
Next time my parents ask me why I want to travel I'm just going to play this video for them 😂😂😂😂 Are you going to be making a video on how to get a volunteer/job abroad?
Kailia, if you're European a great way to travel for free and to volunteer is via European Volunteer Service. The projects are held in different European countries (+ the nearby ones, such as Morocco, Armenia, Azerbaijan etc.) and they last from 2 weeks to a year. The themes of the projects are different and one can find a project that fits them the best. The EU will pay back the plane tickets, it'll cover the accommodation, you won't have to pay for the public transport and all the other small things, and you'll even get pocket money and money for food. The only downside is that it's a once in a lifetime opportunity so be sure to pick a good project! I'm departing in 20ish days ;). You can find jobs (that require mainly English) all over the globe in different resorts. Or go couchsurfing, be an AuPair, work in a farm in Australia (they usually offer free food and accommodation and weekly payment), travel via Workaway, where you work for a few hours a day and in exchange get free accommodation. There are literally so many ways and it's worth taking a risk!
For international jobs you need to be really careful, as certain jobs may take you to more dangerous parts of the world, just saying. For the job your going to do you need a work visa for that country, a passport, up-to-date shot records, all the certain licensing and endorsements, any safety training you may need and make copies of those documents and email them to yourself.... I worked as a pilot, kinda dangerous if your new to flying to work in hostile environments. Best thing you can do is ask the people who have already done it, or ask people there... and it's a good idea to brush up on the language and culture of where your going to be, cause Africa, Asia, and Indonesia are a lot different than Texas.
So excited for this series. I'm setting out travelling in August and can't wait!! Love the channel guys and the information you provide is awesome. Keep up the great work. Stay safe and keep adventuring.
People like me who works 9 to 6 can only fullfill living expenses but It is good that many guys like you are inspiring us to step up and live our life with strong determination to persue what make us happy to do. Very inspiring video,I will definitely do what you guys said, but need to secure my family and responsibility at first place.
I love and respect you guys so much! you have been inspiring me for a long time, I even went to Rotterdam because of your vídeo about rotterdam. Looking forward to this series! specially since I am from Paraguay, one of the cheapest places to travel to :) I am also considering taking a gap time (don't know if year, 6months or whatever) so I'm excited!!! thank you for being awesome!
great video. I'm so excited to be moving to Tallinn and to be travelling again. it has been too long over 15 years! i woke one day i am not happy what am i doing!! decided i know i should move abroad😁 i quit my job last week. feels awesome and freeing🌍✈
Wow! thank you soo much for the video, loved it! I Think i have come to love your channel. i wish i only found you earlier. continue the good work boys wish you the best!
I wanna travel the world when im an adult right now I'm 14 so i just gotta travel the world as soon as I'm able to and just a have a kid who can travel and have a great childhood and can have amazing life with a dog that can protect us and meet new people explore places we've never seen before
you are amazing !!! :) i´m from Mexico and i just about to finish High School, and i really want to travel. This was really helpfull to get the courage to talk to my parents about it. Thank you very much !!
Got a English teaching job in China! Kinda nervous cuz I don't speak the language - like at all - but also kind of excited cuz I friggin' love Chinese culture and history :) Thanks for the awesome tips guys!
Holland in the summertime is magical!! We loveeee it there, would love to travel the country by bicycle. Where are you planning on adventuring this summer?
vagabrothers If you go to Holland again. You should visit The Hague (my hometown) it has an beautiful city center, a great atmosphere, the beach within a 20 minute bike trip and some amazing attractions. If I would go I want to visit as many European cities. But the two cities I want so bad are Prague and Vienna, with their beautiful architecture and history.
love your channel, sub for sure. Anthropology rocks that was my major too. I just came back from a month in Europe and already planning my next venture,
Hey Alex! I'm majoring in Anthropology and African studies! How did you get into UA-cam? did you have much experience with film making before you started? Love the video btw guys!
This video is awesome, my dream is to go on a long term backpacking trip (for me that's the ultimate means of freedom) and this video just put my worries and concerns at ease. so thank you for this. you guys are great and inspiring, keep up the great work!
I don't need reasons, I need money ;)
Colin K Going on a road trip does not to be expensive. Going via train and staying at cheap hotels/backpack things.
Yes, but leaving everything behind you have to make sure you are in a stable financial position first. It will be very stressful to realise that you have ruined your life because you wanted to travel for a bit.
Ni3l55 last time I check there isn't a train across the ocean

Love your videos! So true about traveling when you're young. That's been one of my biggest regrets -- not traveling more when I was in my 20s!
Gotta get it while you can!!!
I just got back from my solo trip and it was amazing. Can't wait till I get to go next time.

I plan to get a 80 liter backpacking pack this week that will have all my belongings so that wherever I go I can have everything I own. if I start practicing living minimalistically now it'll be a breeze when I'm out living in the world.
yes, yes, yes! I've been waiting for a video like that in sooooooo long. So excited to watch your new video series ♡
Can't wait for this series!
This is exactly what I need right now, I can't wait for the rest of the series! 😊
Ever since watching your series on Ireland it's been the top of my bucket list!
Yes yes yes I can't wait for this series. Thanks guys!
The picture of their videos is amazing. Their videos are great to watch.
Thank you, guys for this inspiration! Gonna get down to traveling the world soon!
Thank you! I needed this video ❤ can't wait for the rest in the series.
Love this video so much. I have been wanting to get out and travel more on my own and explore different places. And I'm ready
Bucket list is for BEFORE You Kick The Bucket. GOLD. Just got my replacement passport and already surfing momondo. Singapore, KL, Thailand! Here I come!
You guys are awesome!
+Shivy Naidu nice!!! We need to go do some SE Asia vlog series huh??
vagabrothers that would be awesome if you do!
So much truth! Im vlogging my gap year right now for these very reasons. You guys are such an inspiration.
Very inspiring! Great videos guys!
Thank you for this video Vagabrothers!
Three months ago I arrived back home in Britain. I travelled for two years, Australia, Asia and Europe. The videos these guys uploaded helped alot and everything they say is true.
I maybe be home, but I haven't stopped, I'll be on the road again soon!
While living in Greece working as a tour guide I met a man Paros, he told me "the hardest part about travelling is getting started, because when you start you never stop"
Book a flight, buy a visa, pack a bag! Now you started
Love that you guys started this series! I just came back from a 15 day trip around Europe and I definitely caught the travel bug so I am going to be applying your tips soon 😄 Thanks for inspiring me every week!
i hope see you guys on the road🙌🙌 muy motivacional! gracias!!! 🇵🇪
Next time my parents ask me why I want to travel I'm just going to play this video for them 😂😂😂😂 Are you going to be making a video on how to get a volunteer/job abroad?
+Kailia Sage hahaha uh oh!! It will probably convince them though 😊
Entertainging and informative as always! I am so excited for the rest of this series! 💕 Keep up the good work bros!

Absolutely killer. I'm presently lining out a world tour. Hope to see you on the road.
Hoping to reach many other places in my travels! Traveling is something people should do and just experience things outside their comfort zone.
Love your channel. I love to go on a road trip through Europe, starting from my native Holland. Hopefully I might go this summer.
Holland in the summertime is magical!! We loveeee it there, would love to travel the country by bicycle. Where are you planning on adventuring this summer?
vagabrothers
If you go to Holland again.
I'm starting travelling this year by starting small short trips around Europe then hopefully somewhere long term when I get the funds up xx
Wow it's so amazing! I need more travel in my life! I'm from Brazil and I love California
