Tim Elfring I saw them on this tour and it was awesome. I heard him do recent live versions of old Pretty Hate Machine tunes and had to turn it off though. He's turning his own music pretty shitty if you ask me.
@@nandoginkaku7610 Yup, saw them on the Hesitation Marks tour in 2014 in Amsterdam. Also damn , 7 year old comment, I've been on UA-cam for a long time haha.
That's why I respect Nails. They just have a way of outdoing themselves when they go live. So, I don't mind changes to the lineup over the years. Somehow they always retain their identity no matter who's replaced on drums, guitar, synths, etc.
You mean kinda like how he did with Peter Murphy? Just let him sing while he took the backseat on one of the many different instruments that he plays? I would be curious to hear what they would collaborate on perhaps writing new material together though too. Why don't you ask them? They could only say no at the worst, right?
Don't matter who you are this song will get stuck in your head and you'll find that Trent draws you into trance and get lost in the groove because we all have a demon in us that needs the Nails 😈
imagine rolling and seeing this live. just rolling and listening to this on my ipod makes me go crazy haha. all the lights and sounds right there must blow you uup
thebigbologna I used to have this and This One Is On Us. I bought this from Ripoff Exchange for like $13 bucks because it just dropped that week and I didn't even realize it was new until I popped it in and it was damn near the same concert I saw.
I honestly think they've become more mature, creative and intelligent. "Pretty Hate Machine" is the poppiest and simplest album they ever released and while it was a big deal at the time I think it's definitely their worst album. The Downward Spiral is a classic album but overall it doesn't shine with the innovation that the later albums they have (The Fragile, Year Zero in particular). Trent is so cutting edge, versatile, original and refined now and he's receiving acclaim for it.
@TheNightsMoon I just watched this DVD a few months ago and now I'm so pissed that I missed NIN when they were playing in my city 2 years ago. Trent says he's done touring for the foreseeable future but that doesn't mean it's over he could start up the band again any time he wanted seeing as it was just him and some hired members, in fact I'm pretty sure it won't be over forever. His new band is more of a side project but maybe we'll be lucky enough to see them tour soon.
well, NIN is supposed to start touring near the end of 2013. hopefully they will come somewhere you can get to see them at. and hell, if they dont, take a road trip to go see them, because who knows if you will get anoher chance! :) the last time type o negative ever toured before peters death i saw them twice in 4 days. best decision ever. (i had seen them before too)
I don't doubt it. I've listened to NIN for a long time, but I didn't become a huge fan until about two years ago. By then, they had already stopped touring. IT'S NOT FAIR, DAMN IT.
How old are you kid? 17? 24?? "Pretty Hate Machine" was one of Trent's greatest masterpieces. It is what put industrial on the map for the alternative scene, and "The Downward Spiral" catapulted the genre into the mainstream! Trent himself has even dismissed "The Fragile". You obviously weren't around when Nine Inch Nails WERE actually cutting edge. True, Trent is gaining more notoriety for his versatility as a composer now...but it's obvious to me that YOU WEREN'T THERE during his heyday.
Trent didn't dismiss The Fragile, what are you talking about? Give me your best evidence, I find that incredibly hard to believe. No I wasn't there during his early years, I enjoy his music from that era but it doesn't feel like he broke the creative threshold until later on. He was trying to be industrial that was the biggest flaw of the early days, he should just try and be NIN. I don't care for "Industrial" or "genre" at all, I like terrific music and his new stuff appeals to me more.
@MoonSk8er Vevo allows us to watch these videos without having to PAY like you would on iTunes. I don't see why you guys are so uptight about "Oh the swears are censored"... Well, if you want the real song, go buy it on iTunes.
I must see NIN live before I die.
Tim Elfring I saw them on this tour and it was awesome. I heard him do recent live versions of old Pretty Hate Machine tunes and had to turn it off though. He's turning his own music pretty shitty if you ask me.
I'm seeing them in September, my second time. Do it, you won't regret it. And Trent isn't going to tour forever.
Have you seen them yet?
@@nandoginkaku7610 Yup, saw them on the Hesitation Marks tour in 2014 in Amsterdam. Also damn , 7 year old comment, I've been on UA-cam for a long time haha.
@@TimElfring tight. Any other bands you wanna see still? Also yes. 7 years and still alive to see it
This is my favourite live version of this song. The guitar parts just add so much more to it.
That's why I respect Nails. They just have a way of outdoing themselves when they go live. So, I don't mind changes to the lineup over the years. Somehow they always retain their identity no matter who's replaced on drums, guitar, synths, etc.
Best damn lyrics of any song in a l long time. Nihilism, dream time, archetypes, got it all, fucking great. The bass line is killer.
huh?
Solipsism
That disco beat makes the song.
Never hersrd THIS version. LOVE IT. TRENT IS A GENIUS. He never does anything the exact same way twice.
Love how organic this version is compared to the studio one.
Wrote a 4 paragraph reply and youtube erased it
@@jaysharpESQlol
Is it just me, or is this song just as good live?
Nah. Kinda goes harder than the original💪🏽
I love both the studio version and this live version.
Ok, my new favorite version
Okay this is epic
I doubt it would ever happen but if Trent teamed up with Thom Yorke, my life would pretty much be complete.
Dexy Woodhead replace robin with Jonny greenwood
Oh ya
You and me both pal, I thought I was the only one
You mean kinda like how he did with Peter Murphy? Just let him sing while he took the backseat on one of the many different instruments that he plays? @@threedog14 why is everyone down on Robin? He's been there since the Downward Spiral and he plays a few instruments too. Give the guy a break.
I could watch live videos of NIN for my entire life..
Some of the best visuals from this tour, love how it's kind of a reference to the music video as well.
I thought that it mirrored the music video, as well. Cool stuff!
yes it's awesome, but it feels like Trent is kind of annoyed because of this. Take a closer look. But anyways, looks awesome
The Lights in the Sky setup during this song was also really good.
Follow Rob Sheridan's work, his stuff is great and that guy is cool as hell!
He won an Oscar, too.
Trent did work on The Social Network and Gone Girl.
Its two, since they have oscar for soul movie.
This is so fucking tight, awesome to see Trent firing on all cylinders after getting clean
Gucci McTitties Built like a tank these days.
All five men are sober and well rehearsed.
0:12 they didnt play the guitar like that in the intro of the studio version, i wish they did im so obsessed with it.
Don't matter who you are this song will get stuck in your head and you'll find that Trent draws you into trance and get lost in the groove because we all have a demon in us that needs the Nails 😈
J O S H F R E E S E
He's a pretty prolific drummer
Trent❤️❤️❤️❤️ his arms💪🏼
TRENT SAID 'Nine Inch Nails are touring this year.' NIN IS BACK !!!
NiN GOAT lineup
Aaron North is awesome and entertaining!
+Sam Gargis Couldn't agree more
I definitely like North better than Finck.
So sad what happened to him (he had a bad nervous breakdown I believe). Hopefully he's doing better now.
@@peterkennedy8594 He seems to be doing better and has taken up performing stand up comedy in the LA area.

I was straight before I met Trent Reznor
Yep … if I were a guy , I’d turn gay for him too ! 🖤🤟😂
Favorite NIN song! This performance is 🔥🔥🔥
The drum and bass is addictive as fuck!
"There is no fucking you, There is only me!"
This was incredible
I love this track...one of my fave NIN tracks..love the visuals on this..
I hope NIN returns one day and goes on tour.
My life will not be complete until I see a NIN concert. If it never happens, I die unfulfilled.
Trent invents AND, THAN reinvents ... and we love that.
Thank U so much for your work.
This Blu Ray is soooooooooooo good.

Yea the production for Downward Spiral isnot their best, but it by far has the biggest impact on the listener from top to bottom

who cares? it's not about being mainstream. it's about the music, and NIИ's music is still amazing.
Trent's eyes are wildly beautiful here.
@blokey8 Trent + Bellamy + Morello + Freese/Grohl/Lombardo + Claypool and we have enough epicness to blow up whole universe.
Fun Fact: Ad-Blocker prevents adds from playing before UA-cam videos. :)

supposedly they're going to be at Lollapalooza, so I'm sure they're coming back.
@TheNightsMoon They split up. Well, Trent retired the band, one guy can't really split up with himself. He's got a new band now.
