thanks heaps, the pic showing how the spring, washers and O-ring go together was extremely helpful..
A must have for any honda 4 stroke. Been running mine in 08 450 since 2011 the spring broke off 2015 and still has given me no problems. 😂
I have a KTM 2005 450 years is getting a little bit old but I have rebuilt it twice still going strong I'm so glad that the bike you just used to have the same setup carburettor by the look of it and you explained it perfectly and simply I am so happy great job man thank you for the video
Awesome! Glad the video helped and good job on the rebuild!
Thanks my bike now has a nice Crisp clean responsive acceleration well explained thank you. I didn't realise it was so messed up, before but watching your video and following these basic steps the difference is phenomenal so happy cheers 💯👍
Played with my settings a while. Had it about right but a little lean. So going through the gears on the road had a bog. Richened it a 1/8 turn, bog greatly reduced, loosened another 1/8 turn and setting is awesome. No bog and my 250EXC 4 starts on one kick when hot. Before your scew, bike would kick start cold with out choke and would not kick start hot. (too rich and very hard to adjust). Thanks.,
Glad to hear you got the bike dialed! Thanks for the input.
I just put this screw in my crf150rb and it works so good great my bike was running so bad and it was quick to adjust it
Cool product, another good instructional video!
This is damn useful but I’ve got a v-twin super sport so I’m hoping I can manage to get it pretty accurate
I need help adjusting my pilot screw !! Should i set the idle high to maxx and then adjust???
So u set it to stock setting turn up the idle a bit let it warm up and then u turn the fuel screw out to get the highest smoothest running engine rpm then drop the rpm’s back down once achieved ?
Hi there , my original feul screw seems to be stuck , I can't get it to turn either way ?
What is the proper order to place the spring, o-ring, and washers?
Awesome video
My screw came with two washers. From the bottom should it go washer, spring, washer, o ring? Or is the second washer just a spare?
Hello, If I made mod on TE250i 2019 2 stroke, that mod can couse more fuel and less oil in engine? so the cranshaft bearing and cod bearing will be damaged? as stock fuel ratio is lean and. Imade adjustment screw so I cut air and made that screw to adjust idle by flaper and TPS sensor.
So if you know please let me know.
Thanks,
On a 03 KTM 450 after complete top end rebuild , cylinder re sleeve, new piston & new titanium valves and new adjustable accelerator pump with every thing tuned and running perfect. one day after a few months my muffler started melting my side plastic muffler cover, then a few days later the bike starts to lose power at higher RPM. Any ideas ?
Thanks for any help on this.
Carb is KEIHIN FCR-MX 39
Carb jets stock 170-40, in shop book 175-48
Jets In as of 03-22 - 178/50
Why does mine stick so far out of the carb body? The o-ring near the end doesn’t even reach the carb. I have a 2007 Kx250f
Do u have one 4 a ttr 125 2001
Wish they had one for my 04 crf150f
Will this work 2004 kfx 400?
Hi, my bike is backfiring a little too much off gas, throttle fully closed, running at low RPMs. Apart from that, it runs fine. Oh, I have a Keihin FCR MX 41 with TPS.
I am currently 1 and 1/2 turns out with this TUSK screw from fully close, do you recommend to open it further more or I just need a larger Idle jet? Thanks.
Is there a stock setting for the throttle stop screw that you adjust the idle with? The one that looks like a flat screwdriver is needed to adjust it.
TheCRFrider23
Actually, That Idle Screw moves a little when riding so you have to tweak it every so often.
You should here when it sounds Good. You want it where the Bike is running low and steady. You don’t want the Idle high. You know what I mean.
I'm working on one of these for a neighbor, and I found that his carb has one of these aftermarket fuel screws (not the Tusk version) and the tip has broken off and is stuck in the carb. Has anyone ever dealt with trying to remove a broken off and stuck fuel screw tip? I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get above it to push it out of there.
Gotta punch it out from the top of the carb ..
what are the carb setting adjustment for 1985 Honda 200x ATC
Dude google the service manual nobody just knows that off the top of their head do the research and figure it out yourself
What screw driver Did you use to take the original screw out? It did not show it in the video. having a hard time finding one short enough.
You can use this tool! Here's the link: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/989/60845/Tusk-Mini-Carb-Tool-Kit
Please someone help ... what is the flat head screw above his hand at 2:48
I am having trouble finding a video because that screw should control the idle and it has a wire connected to it but it disconnected from mine and I cant find out how to fix it
Yes, you are right that is the idle screw. You can see him adjusting it at 3:00.
Can something like this fit my Yamaha warrior?
+ZETA PRIME Our Tusk Fuel Mixture Screw does not. There's possible one out there for your machine but we do not carry one. Sorry.
I have an 07 crf250r. When on the stand when I start it up, usually once every Saturday if not riding. I try to wick the throttle open while idiling and the engine bogs. Could this help? Just got the carb cleaned and new jets so I think that might be it too. :/
Yes that can affect the very first part of your throttle. If you haven't installed one of these quick adjust fuel mixture screws you can try to adjust your stock mixture screw and see if that cleans it up. Use your service manual and this video for the proper procedures and settings. This slight hesitation could also be caused by other jetting settings such as your leak jet. This controls the amount of fuel let back into the float bowl from the accelerator pump and therefore controls how much fuel the accelerator pump shoots into the intake as the throttle is wicked. Try adjusting your fuel mixture screw first and that will tell you if your pilot jet is correct or not and then go from there. If you run into any questions let us know!
KneeDown41RM it sounds like u need to adjust ur accelerator pump
Test while riding not while on the stand. If you adjust for quick WOT on a stand, you will be running rich and decreasing range/mileage.
Will this work on a 2006 polaris sportsman 450 4x4 mikunk carborator
Unfortunately, we do not have this available for your ATV.
So this will work on 2007 honda crf250r???? Bc iam having a little of this problem and its shooting flames when giving gas😅
Yes, this is available for your CRF!
Hello. My carburetor has like a little plug that doesn't allow me to get to the screw. Do I remove that plug ??
Drill out the plug .. be carful the screw is right behind it
Just Hammer and flat head. Iside out
Will this work on a Suzuki DR 200 SE?
Unfortunately we don't carry this for the DR200SE. I was hoping to be able to point you in the right direction but wasn't' able to find one anywhere that fit that bike. It looks like your bike has the Mikuni BST31 carburetor which is a different set up than the Keihn carbs that this fuel mixture screw fits.
Sorry that wasn't too helpful!
Will this work for 07 klr650 or 04 xr400r
Unfortunately, we don't have these available for either of those bikes. There are definitely other manufactures out there that offer a fuel mixture screw for KLR's though.
My carb appears to not have this screw and it ran fine before.. But now I have a glowing exhaust after running it just for 60 sec..
Should I buy this screw? Im also going to check the valve clearances.
But it still bothers me that my carb doesnt have this screw. And it is stock.
The bike ran fine before what? Your stock screw will not stick out like this screw so it will look different. It's not super abnormal for the header to glow red when a bike is just sitting especially on bigger cc bikes like 450's but if it didn't glow previously I'd definitely check and make sure it's not running too lean and none of your valves are burnt or anything like that.
I ride my bike(crf250r) almost every day. The other day it started popping out the exhaust so I went home and checked the valves and they are in spec. Then while I was cleaning the carb assuming that was the issue I couldnt see this adjuster screw. Im going to check the valves again tomorrom. Do you think the screw is the problem? Im not sure how it would fall out by it self.
It's hard to say exactly but I'm sure you know how your bike normally runs. But if your valves are in spec I would suspect something is making it run too lean. This screw will make air/fuel adjustments easier at the lower RPM's.
Yea I ordered this screw but still going to check the valves again thanks for responding.
Will this work with the Mikuni bst40 on a Dr650se?
Unfortunately, we don't offer the Tusk mixture screw for the DR650. Sorry about that!
Rocky Mountain ATV MC thank you for a quick response and some great products!
What are you using to take the screw out
You will need a small flathead screw driver to remove the old fuel mixture screw.
Do you carry one for a 2005 trx 450r
Yes we do. Just be sure to enter your ATV on the product page.
www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/tusk-fuel-mixture-screw-p
well my issue is i cant find my fuel screw on my TRX250x LOL somebody said you should be able to feel it not see it. well cuz my issue is my exhaust is making a popping noise and my idle is high even tho i chnage it maybe its the fuel screw idk man…
You might have a tamper proof cap covering the fuel screw. If you need to rebuild the carburetor, that cap can be drilled out in order to remove the fuel screw and clean that circuit. Check your manual but you'll probably need a "D" tool to remove the screw. Use the Honda service manual to reinstall the fuel screw back to factory settings, then install a new tamper proof cap. www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/dynojet-%22d%22-shaped-pilot-fuel-screw-tool-p
how high should the rpm be set to, to tune the carb?
1800-2000 rpm is a high idle rpm.
+SlammedBeretta I set mine to 1600 rpm for normal setting.
Why not make one of these for a 400ex probably one of the most popular bikes. I'm guessing there's gotta be a reason
DR650 owner here. Would this work on a DR?
Unfortunately, this will not work on a DR650.
@@rmatvmcthank you
So do you not use the numbers as a reference
Yes, you can certainly use the numbers as a reference to get your fuel mixture screw dialed in and know where you're at.
My fuel screw on my yz250f won’t fit with the spring. If I try to put the fuel screw in without the spring, it slides in beautifully. Do you know what the reason could be on why my fuel screw won’t seat correctly?
Is the original spring still stuck in there and you're trying to put in a second spring on top of it?
Probably a stupid question. Choke on or off when adjusting?
The engine should be at operating temp when making any adjustments, so no-choke. 👍🏼

video makes me dizzy, buy a tripod. nothing about AF screw settings or idle screw setting
