- Video footage from the first Milwaukee Irish Fest in 1981. This is from the Irish Music on Plectrum Instruments Workshop on the Channel 12 Stage, Sunday, August 23rd. Courtesy of the Ward Irish Music Archives.
From left to right:
Micheal O Domhnaill: guitar
Johnny McDonagh: bodhran
Mick Moloney: tenor banjo
Charlie Piggott: tenor banjo
The Bucks Of Oranmore !!! 😺
The sound doesn’t do justice to Micheál.
Who are the 2 banjo masters?
Excellent playing!
And Ringo on the Bodhrán 😊
What a fine band!
Ainm ar scéal ar bith?
Sláinte agaibh uploaders agus Grma!
Charlie Piggott and Mick Maloney
@@tazio2 I discovered Mick Maloney on that video. He seems fantastic.
Don’t know the other Piggott yet.
Did he play in another band?
@@Melvorgazh He was the banjoist with De Danann ( look up De Danann at the Embankment ) on UA-cam . He lost a tip of a finger and could't play banjo any more but became a great box player - melodeon
@@Melvorgazh Mick Moloney used to play with Irish folk group The Johnsons way back in the day. He has a great solo banjo album called Strings Attached
@@tazio2 Strings Attached?
I shall have a look.
Thanks a lot!
So with Paul Brady?
He played in that band the same Johnsons? 🤔
I’ll have to re-listen to them.
They had a nice sound.
Sláinte!
Tomás
Milwalkee abú!! 🍻😎👍🏻
