@@Spazza1081 It doesn't need to kill everyone to get you upset. It just has to make you feel like it might. And if nothing else, it definitely does that.
@@Spazza1081 Well, the problem with that argument is, it's a joke. Genuinely. And jokes tend to be a little exaggerated. Of course Honkai isn't actually depressing, but the community gets sad enough about enough parts of the story, that the joke caught on. And beyond that, it's not just anxiety, it's genuine sadness and, to some degree, grief. After all, the characters themselves actively grieve this situation for at least another 15 chapters. And it influences them for the rest of the story beyond that. That fact lets the players feel those same feelings and relations more clearly.
@@nemasisdemarini8339 fair enough. You know, I legitimately almost forgot they did that, it’s been a while. Anyway, I made that comment among others a while ago in my Himeko hating phase. I couldn’t understand why people would never get over her death, after all I did very quickly. She really just felt like a bland side character to me for the hour or two of screen time she got, so the death had little impact on me. Now I know, the chronicles, the manga, but no first time player touches that stuff until later, if ever. OG and GGZ players had an excuse I guess, having spent years with her by the time it happens. But I’ve since grown past bothering people about it, even if I still don’t personally empathise.
Now that I think about it, okay it was one of the saddest moment of the game, but once the game is over, we overall had more positive feelings than negative ones. Like the true real sad moments in the games are actually Final Lesson and Lament of the fallen. The rest is mostly very happy ending.
@@Spazza1081 I think it's because we actually went through Defeat "A lot" before. If we lost once, why not once again? @@shokudiablo6716 We summarized it well with a friend the difference between Honkai Impact and Genshin: Honkai Impact is a story to follow whereas Genshin is a world to discover. Honkai Impact is advertised through characters we see evolving, dying, suffering or fighting for everything that is beautiful in the world. Even if the universe is also very interesting, the biggest strength of the game is the character and what they live. Genshin is advertised through discovering the world, finding many cool things, more or less living inside. Even if there are stories and such, nothing has to impact in a too intense way the world we live in, because it is a beautiful world to travel to. It doesn't mean one is better than another, they are just very different games. The reason I personally prefer Honkai Impact is that the story isn't done, and even if there are less characters, they went through so much that there are too much things to talk about. Whereas Genshin, once you're done exploring every spots in the game, you have nothing but farming to do... Which also helps Honkai on youtube: reactions of the game helps the game to get even more popular, and it is just more content. It's way easier to make content over Honkai impact than Genshin. I think Honkai Star Rail will follow the same thing as HI3, but I feel like instead of Himeko dying, It will be Welt, since he might have stayed on the Astral Express to protect this Himeko (He might believe that since he's the reason Himeko joined Shicksal and Ste Freya, it is his fault that Himeko died) So we can expect Welt to make the ultimate sacrifice for Himeko, saying goodbye to his wife Tesla and his son Joyce
@@shokudiablo6716 Nice, someone besides me who cried over Otto, besides myself. I too cried over him and his loss. The man is selfish, we all know that, but the tiring attempts to try to bring back the one he loved so much, failing over and over through different methods, it feels all too real. Those of us who had someone precious to us meet their death, can sorta relate with Otto and his grief. Even if we wouldn't go through the lengths of same evil acts he did, to try to bring his loved one. I too had someone precious to me die. Kiana knew everything that was happening she just let sirin do her thing because she felt she was lied to and she felt lost but when her freisnds and her teacher himeko came to her rescue we can see sirin struggling which is because kiana decided to fight for the control over the body.
