The problem is that the Honkai cells are toxic and the longer and more you use them, the more they destroy your body. Himeko (red head) is a mentor figure in this story (think Kikashi to Naruto) and has been a Valkyrie for a long time and she’s due for “retirement”, in which she is suppose to take a serum which will eject the Honkai cells from her body. This will save her life, but it will rob her of her fighting power. Kiana (the white haired girl), a student of Himeko’s and the game’s protagonist, is being controlled by a strain of “God Honkai” cells named Sirin. Sirin is controlling Kiana and is wrecking havoc on the world alongside her dragon minion. So in this moment of dire need, Himeko forgoes her “retirement” in an effort to save her student. She actually dons a prototype suit which will actually amplify her Honkai cells even further and kill her even more rapidly. In the end of this suicide mission to save her student, Himeko ejects Kiana with her own “retirement” serum to eject Sirin from Kiana’s body, thus hopefully freeing the young girl the Honkai God’s control. Ultimately this causes Himeko to burn through her body and she dies right at the moment she was suppose to be freed from the fighting and death. I wrote all of this out because the context makes this beautiful video even more amazing and I hope I was able to clarify any questions and shed some light on the context.

4:40 if you pay attention in honkai star rail, you can see that Himeko’s broken sword is exposed in the storage room of Herta’s Spaceship alongside the planer from Genshin and Vyn’s card pyramid in tears of Themis, however Himeko’s sword was by far the cruelest Easter egg they could’ve had done 🥲
if you pick himeko and inspect the sword fragments the game says -You closely examine these fragments. A gust of heat suddenly arrives thorugh the air. It Touches your cheeks and pauses next to your ear. -you hear someone sobbing, someone yelling, and someone mourning wordlessly. Finally, someone whispers... _She was reborn in the fire. She was smiliing in the fire.
You know what hurts the most in this part? Its the fact that the Serum was supposed to be for Himeko (redhead, for the people who dont know the context), to cure herself of the Honkai that's eating away at her life. But, she used it on Kiana instead to save her. She literally sacrificed her own life to save her student. It hurts man, and the fact that at this point of the story she's the only one that can stand up to the Herrscher. EDIT: To add more context how powerful this impacted me as a player of this game, Himeko was one of my least favorite chars in the game. Then I played as her in the game, experienced her story, then this happened... She shot up as probably top 3 favorite now In-game. That's how good the writing this game has. Do yourself a favor, play it yourself and experience it. These shorts have way more impact with context.
I can relate to that, it's a very neatly written story. It reminds me of all the premises all over the past story as well, and makes it feel all right to have the... What is it again? A border? To separate this ending with the other story.
I have Murata Himeko-Blood rose one and i hated the fact that She LITERALLY die and burn herself to death in the game than being useful killing mobs heh....After this SHE IS DEFINETLY one of my favorites (Now obiously 1st spot is Herrscher of Sentience) so i wish i could get her version Vermillion Knight (From this vid) just to use her and She'll be in the team never changed for anyone else

Before i really didn’t like her she attacked kinda slow and her evade was kinda weird but then i grew to love her Also i couldn’t stand her grunting it hurt my insides it sounded like so much pain

And aside from that side mission where you can text her or or Welt, she is pretty absent from the main storyline She could really be killed somewhere in the future. And as much as I don't want another Final Lesson, Final Lesson is what made me fall in love with HI3

1 single character's death, can give a significant impact to the story, even after 3 years. And in the same time, it develop every single characters in the story, both directly and indirectly. That..... That's how you kill your characters right in a fiction story

i didnt really give himeko much attention, i just liked playing using her battlesuit sometimes and laugh around at her conversations with Kiana, but i got spoilers about this, i cant stop crying now im now gonna use himeko's battlesuit alot
Himeko at Star Rail, shes still beautiful as the day we lost her. Edit: ohh the time has come, new himeko appeared i hope mihoyo doesn't do anything bad about her :(
@@MiArcangel I don't think so... even though they have some Easter eggs for her... Star Rail may have a hidden easter egg for the glider.... but they definitely have one for the broken sword on Herta's ship.
What's even more sad in this cinematic is Himeko's body is in complete physical pain. With the Godslayer battlesuit ruined, wielding Surtr (Himeko's sword) is actually burning her from the inside out. Paired that with her advanced stage of Honkai Zombification and the intense physical strain, Himeko is just moving out of sheer willpower to save Kiana. Those 4 flame jets that jut out of her back as she deliver her final attack was the Godslayer completely incinerating her. She was NOT coming out of that battle, win or lose, alive.
@@shenhe7599 The devil's in the details. That's just a summary of it. It's more painful when you read up on the lore of what she had been going through. Like I said, Himeko wasn't coming out of it alive. It's already a miracle even for a Valkyrie to go through in Himeko's state after tanking Sirin's barrage, and still fight in full strength.
That’s why it’s so emotional too, the desire to save Kiana was what kept her moving... she started the fight not even knowing if she would reach her goal, for all she knew she could’ve died mid battle.... Himeko was so strong... mentally and physically, her sacrifice will never be forgotten!

its been almost 3 years since i known about honkai impact 3d. to this day, i couldn't play in the game, so i eagerly waited to play, and finally... i experienced it myself, i didn't cry, but the feels were too much to bear all at once. it was something undescribable. as a fan of both hi3d and hsr, himeko is one of the most memorable characters for me.
After seeing Kiana’s new Flamescion, I’ve come back to remember a great warrior, teacher, and most of all, a great woman. If this is truly the final nail on the coffin, Rest In Peace Major Murata Himeko, we captains will continue to make sure this dark world has a brighter future each day that comes!
4:52 After rewatching this for a few times I finally noticed this little detail. The corners of Himeko's lips turned up into a faint smile as she got blasted away by HoV, because she knew she had won. Even if she was dying, she managed to successfully inject the anti Honkai serum into Kiana and stop HoV, that's why that one last smile appeared on her lips.
Knowing he is the same Welt as HI3 who feels guilty for her death , he will make it sure it doesn't happen for the second time even if she is not the Himeko we knew, she is still Himeko

I still come back to this from time to time. To remember how great Himeko is. Kiana, Mei and Bronya may be herreschers, Durandal, Kallen and Cecilia may be classified as the strongest valkyries, but to me, none compares to Major Murata Himeko.

hearing the line "reach the end of your story in your own way" in honkai star rail really shocked me, i just had to come back here. and shed a tear once again.
That's the hole schtick of the unit she was on. Direct confrontation with overwhelming force to break the enemy line. It's extremely demoralizing to the receiving end and it shows here.
She does the same thing to Herrscher of Thunder in the manga - Theresa rats her out about it later because she was using a prototype battlesuit. …Wait. Prototype battlesuit…
Yep that is the schtick of her unit and she was using sheer will to move, any extra movements would have been hard and made things worse anyways. She was already dying using every ounce of her will to survive and save Kiana.

I watched this yesterday for the first time, I almost shed a tear and tried to not cry due to how sad it is. I've never player Hi3rd before. Today 3:00 AM Aug 9 2024, my grandfather died and I watched this video again, this time I could not stop crying. You can say that was his "Final Lesson" to me. Thank you for all the memories you gave me, I will cherish them all like gold shining brightest in my memories. Welt and Traveler, you better not let Himeko(hsr) and Murata die.
I hate myself for not playing this 2 years ago. Thank you miHoYo for creating a game with a very loveable and well developed characters and on top of that a great story.
@MHA Hanzo ikr the story is just way too good for a mobile game. I did not expect such a thing. Honestly I did not expect myself to show many emotions during playing this game. Its such a ride and I never regreted every single moment.
I don't think there's enough appreciation for the animation in this short production. It's probably the first time I've seen anime-stylized CG animation this phenomenal and smooth before. Outside of really big budget FF movies and the like. Great job to the animation team behind this.
One thing I love about this animations current in-game audio, is that when Kiana is injected with the serum, you can hear both Kiana and Sirin scream in agony as the Honkai cells are rejected from their body. Kiana's voice slowly creeps in after Sirin's, and you can hear everything. The hate, the regret, the sadness, the pain. Everything.
Dude!!! I am watching this animation and played it!!! And now your telling me this!!! I am already dead! Like I want to hug Kiana for her suffering but now this !!!! I am really crying while punching a cement truck to smitherins!!!
You get used to it. I'm very close to my 500th day online, this game never ceases to make the players sad from chapter 9 on. I guess they don't want happy players 🤷🏻♂️
I am absolutely dreading the moment Himeko goes with us into a planet in HSR (Like Welt is doing rn in the Luofu). Last time we played as Himeko in the HI3 story, it ended up with this cutscene.

Chapter Nine was where it really hit players that this was not some fun joy ride where a teenager and her girlfriend and an emotionless third wheel save the world together. This was real. The developers weren't afraid to kill characters for the sake of character development. Chapter Nine was the end of Honkai Impact 3rd, and the beginning of Depression Impact 103rd.
Just to reiterate how great of a sacrifice Himeko made, in the manga, the serum she injected Kiana with was made by Dr. Magi, a Schicksal defector attempting to save young Valkyries from dying of the Honkai infection. Dr. Magi gave it to Fu Hua to help Kiana after she stopped the eruption in Singapore, and Fu Hua meant to give it to Himeko instead knowing that K-423 was a fake. In another chapter, Otto explains that this serum is made with the antibodies of a thousand Honkai victims. Himeko was given the chance to live a normal life as a civilian again with this one in a thousand cure all, *but she gave it to Kiana instead.* Kiana’s life was paid for by the lives of a THOUSAND PEOPLE. Himeko is the best and most tragic written character i’ve ever seen.
Himeko is the best, but I think part of the reason she goes so far to save Kiana, is that she can tell Kiana is basically "the one." She believes Kiana is the one who will save the world, so she can't afford to let her die. And it's not just Himeko who thinks that way. In chapter 17 Mei literally says Kiana will become the hero and save the world. She even says the world itself wants Kiana to be the hero.
What u said is mostly write but dr.magi used that serum on kiana then kiana asked dr.magi about that serum and then asked dr.magi to give her some of that serum for her instructor (himeko) and Dr magi gave that serum for both kiana and himeko fu hua saved that for himeko and maybe gave kiana too
What i meant was that u said "fu hua meant to give it to himkeo instead knowing that K423 was a fake" but I think dr.magi gave enough serum for both of them

Seeing Himeko's broken blade in honkai Star Rail, brought me back here again to experience feeltrain. For those who don't know you can find that in Herta space station artifact room.
That Otto block-head wanted her friends to die at the hands of Sirin, especially Theresa, who would allow Kiana to control Herrscher and resurrect Kallen. If it hadn't been for Himeko with the anti-Honkai serum to stop her, they would all have died. And his plan would have succeeded.
The part when the lyrics begin and Himeko going into overdrive mode, it kills me everytime, and I guarantee I've seen this 20+ times. All that raw power and unbridled emotion and determination...she had every means to absolutely destroy the Herrscher. Yet she didn't even leave a scratch. She unleashed her might just to get close enough to administer the serum, in hopes that it would save Kiana. Himeko knew it would destroy her, yet she still made the sacrifice. Seeing that extremely faint smile, knowing she succeeded..destroyed me emotionally. This whole scene was one of the most powerful experiences I've ever been through in a video game. It was emotional, beautiful, tragic...'Never let you go.'
After watching and crying at this animation for 100th, I just realized how powerful himeko was. At 2:17 her greatsword was sent into the void but it cut through and pierced back into the world. Imagine your weapon is so fast, it can escape the void even though it's impossible. And at 4:05 she was in the void but she burn the void and explode it. This is why himeko has a special in my heart

This armor is actually a Divine Key made using the power of the previous Herrscher of the Void from 50 thousand years ago, using the control of imaginary space to force open the energy conduit between imaginary space and herrscher cores that normally only a real herrscher can access, and reaching power output that you can't reach normally by using a core as an external weapon. It basically turns you into a god for about 200 seconds the first time you use it, but the time limit is worse each time (down to 5 seconds by the third attempt for the original creator of the armor) as the burden of that energy keeps bringing you to the brink of death. And Himeko was already dying before this.

Edit: So I got an anti-rabies vaccine shot yesterday cuz I got bitten by a stray dog and while waiting for the shot I remembered this comment of mine about vaccines and himeko, so I proceeded to watch the vid while getting the shot and I started tearing up. I don't know if it's because of himeko or the vaccine but nonetheless I cried just a little bit.
I came to honkai from genshin and ended up getting spoilers for this, But promised to myself I'd like to experience it for the first time in-game, and When I saw this for the first time, I had to hold back tears and keep from crying. Himeko hadn't been my favorite character, but after I saw this with the music, I was so sad and immediately took back that I "hadn't liked her" god, I love this animation so much, and can't wait to see what else happens in the story. I’m still waiting and hoping that MHY would create a “last battle” skin for VK. I really like Himeko’s hair after taking and surviving those attacks, and the damaged battlesuit would look badass af in gameplay! When I played this story quest I didn’t expect this at all. I literally had to hid my face when because I was in the living room with my families and I almost cried like a baby.
Honkai Impact 3rd: Himeko died (We as the players are called as "Captain") Genshin Impact: Mavuika's death was prevented because of "The Captain" therefore saving her Looks like from another universe a Captain finally saved her 🥺
I can't count the number of times I replayed 4:00 onwards like; the music enhanced the weight of her affections and thought for the student she so loves and believes in. The desperation to save her and ensure she can continue to live never fails to hit me in the feels. I will never shed too many tears for this.
I never realized how brutal Sirin's first attacks were. Damn. She went ham. Himeko literally got sliced into pieces in that cube. It's a miracle she could even stand after taking those hits.
On one hand - HImeko must be protected. On the other hand, I wouldn't put it past Hoyo to pull a switcheroo on us and kill Kafka instead (and for me, she's also a very dear person to our Trailblazer),

I have Murata Himeko-Blood rose one and i hated the fact that She LITERALLY die and burn herself to death in the game than being useful killing mobs heh....After this SHE IS DEFINETLY one of my favorites (Now obiously 1st spot is Herrscher of Sentience) so i wish i could get her version Vermillion Knight (From this vid) just to use her and She'll be in the team never changed for anyone else

What's even more sad in this cinematic is Himeko's body is in complete physical pain. With the Godslayer battlesuit ruined, wielding Surtr (Himeko's sword) is actually burning her from the inside out. Paired that with her advanced stage of Honkai Zombification and the intense physical strain, Himeko is just moving out of sheer willpower to save Kiana. Those 4 flame jets that jut out of her back as she deliver her final attack was the Godslayer completely incinerating her.
She was NOT coming out of that battle, win or lose, alive.

Like I said, Himeko wasn't coming out of it alive. It's already a miracle even for a Valkyrie to go through in Himeko's state after tanking Sirin's barrage, and still fight in full strength.
That’s why it’s so emotional too, the desire to save Kiana was what kept her moving... she started the fight not even knowing if she would reach her goal, for all she knew she could’ve died mid battle.... Himeko was so strong... mentally and physically, her sacrifice will never be forgotten!

its been almost 3 years since i known about honkai impact 3d. to this day, i couldn't play in the game, so i eagerly waited to play, and finally... i experienced it myself, i didn't cry, but the feels were too much to bear all at once. it was something undescribable. as a fan of both hi3d and hsr, himeko is one of the most memorable characters for me.
After seeing Kiana’s new Flamescion, I’ve come back to remember a great warrior, teacher, and most of all, a great woman. 4:52 After rewatching this for a few times I finally noticed this little detail. The corners of Himeko's lips turned up into a faint smile as she got blasted away by HoV, because she knew she had won. Even if she was dying, she managed to successfully inject the anti Honkai serum into Kiana and stop HoV, that's why that one last smile appeared on her lips.

That's the hole schtick of the unit she was on. Direct confrontation with overwhelming force to break the enemy line. It's extremely demoralizing to the receiving end and it shows here.

Today 3:00 AM Aug 9 2024, my grandfather died and I watched this video again, this time I could not stop crying. You can say that was his "Final Lesson" to me. I don't think there's enough appreciation for the animation in this short production. It's probably the first time I've seen anime-stylized CG animation this phenomenal and smooth before. Outside of really big budget FF movies and the like. Great job to the animation team behind this.

One thing I love about this animations current in-game audio, is that when Kiana is injected with the serum, you can hear both Kiana and Sirin scream in agony as the Honkai cells are rejected from their body. Kiana's voice slowly creeps in after Sirin's, and you can hear everything. The hate, the regret, the sadness, the pain. Everything.
the ingame version just makes you realize kiana was conscious this whole time. watching all the pain and suffering her herrscher ego is causing.

Chapter Nine was where it really hit players that this was not some fun joy ride where a teenager and her girlfriend and an emotionless third wheel save the world together. This was real. The developers weren't afraid to kill characters for the sake of character development.
Chapter Nine was the end of Honkai Impact 3rd, and the beginning of Depression Impact 103rd.

Just to reiterate how great of a sacrifice Himeko made, in the manga, the serum she injected Kiana with was made by Dr. Magi, a Schicksal defector attempting to save young Valkyries from dying of the Honkai infection. Dr. Magi gave it to Fu Hua to help Kiana after she stopped the eruption in Singapore, and Fu Hua meant to give it to Himeko instead knowing that K-423 was a fake.
In another chapter, Otto explains that this serum is made with the antibodies of a thousand Honkai victims. Himeko was given the chance to live a normal life as a civilian again with this one in a thousand cure all, *but she gave it to Kiana instead.* Kiana’s life was paid for by the lives of a THOUSAND PEOPLE. Himeko is the best and most tragic written character i’ve ever seen.
Himeko is the best, but I think part of the reason she goes so far to save Kiana, is that she can tell Kiana is basically "the one." She believes Kiana is the one who will save the world, so she can't afford to let her die.
And it's not just Himeko who thinks that way. In chapter 17 Mei literally says Kiana will become the hero and save the world. She even says the world itself wants Kiana to be the hero.
What u said is mostly write but dr.magi used that serum on kiana then kiana asked dr.magi about that serum and then asked dr.magi to give her some of that serum for her instructor (himeko) and Dr magi gave that serum for both kiana and himeko fu hua saved that for himeko and maybe gave kiana too

The part when the lyrics begin and Himeko going into overdrive mode, it kills me everytime, and I guarantee I've seen this 20+ times. All that raw power and unbridled emotion and determination...she had every means to absolutely destroy the Herrscher. Yet she didn't even leave a scratch. She unleashed her might just to get close enough to administer the serum, in hopes that it would save Kiana. Himeko knew it would destroy her, yet she still made the sacrifice.
Seeing that extremely faint smile, knowing she succeeded..destroyed me emotionally. This whole scene was one of the most powerful experiences I've ever been through in a video game. It was emotional, beautiful, tragic...'Never let you go.'

After watching and crying at this animation for 100th, I just realized how powerful himeko was. At 2:17 her greatsword was sent into the void but it cut through and pierced back into the world. Imagine your weapon is so fast, it can escape the void even though it's impossible. And at 4:05 she was in the void but she burn the void and explode it. This is why himeko has a special in my heart

This armor is actually a Divine Key made using the power of the previous Herrscher of the Void from 50 thousand years ago, using the control of imaginary space to force open the energy conduit between imaginary space and herrscher cores that normally only a real herrscher can access, and reaching power output that you can't reach normally by using a core as an external weapon.
It basically turns you into a god for about 200 seconds the first time you use it, but the time limit is worse each time (down to 5 seconds by the third attempt for the original creator of the armor) as the burden of that energy keeps bringing you to the brink of death. And Himeko was already dying before this.

Edit: So I got an anti-rabies vaccine shot yesterday cuz I got bitten by a stray dog and while waiting for the shot I remembered this comment of mine about vaccines and himeko, so I proceeded to watch the vid while getting the shot and I started tearing up. I came to honkai from genshin and ended up getting spoilers for this, But promised to myself I'd like to experience it for the first time in-game, and When I saw this for the first time, I had to hold back tears and keep from crying.
Himeko hadn't been my favorite character, but after I saw this with the music, I was so sad and immediately took back that I "hadn't liked her" god, I love this animation so much, and can't wait to see what else happens in the story.
Even though I love genshin, I couldn't be more glad I started honkai. This animation is nothing short of a masterpiece.

I’m still waiting and hoping that MHY would create a “last battle” skin for VK. I really like Himeko’s hair after taking and surviving those attacks, and the damaged battlesuit would look badass af in gameplay!

I can't count the number of times I replayed 4:00 onwards like; the music enhanced the weight of her affections and thought for the student she so loves and believes in. The desperation to save her and ensure she can continue to live never fails to hit me in the feels. I will never shed too many tears for this.

I never realized how brutal Sirin's first attacks were. Damn. She went ham. Himeko literally got sliced into pieces in that cube. It's a miracle she could even stand after taking those hits.
