Great edit guys - I have periodically showed the raid series to coworkers at my company and it's never a letdown in the reactions like you guys had. I don't want to sound like that guy, but did you really watch it with the English dub? Outside of some of Jackie Chan's more humorous action movies where he did his own English lines, I've always felt that the original dialogue better captures the intensity of the actors
The Raid 2 was actually written first, but the director couldn't get funding to make it so he wrote the raid 1 as a smaller budget movie to lead into the 2nd and after it proved successful they agreed to fund the bigger budget sequel.
This explains why he doesn't want to make s third one. Originally it was supposed to be just one, the RAID 2, but to get the funds he had to make RAID 1. Honestly, it works wonders 'cause he managed to make the movie he wanted, I believe, and we got two movies with FANTASTIC action scenes.
Fun fact: For the kitchen scene, both Iko Uwais and Cecep Arief Rahman had to slow down their moves for the camera to capture the moves. But they still look quite fast for us mortals.
How ironic that all three assassins (Baseball Bat Man, Hammer Girl and Karambit Guy) were killed by their own weapons. They broke the first rule of fist fight. NEVER bring weapons. The fact that Rama fought three of them and countless other badguys with only his fist and physical body shows that he is the superior martial artist. I always see your reactions from all GOT episodes, and now you're reacting to movies coming from my country, it's great. I always enjoy it.
I'm not overproud, just respect
Great reaction! Truly enjoyed myself. I read somewhere that they made this movie on a budget of $ 4.5 m.
My all-time favorite action film.
"I don't wanna watch this" 🤣 sounds like my parents when I watch movies like this lmao
