I actually grew up with the YN2 AC4400CW’s back in 2010. I knew about those units. I would see those units on coal trains. In fact, one day, I would see at least two or three AC4400CW’s on the head of TECO coal trains that go to Big Bend. The famous AC4400CW is #559. That unit sported the Leslie RS3K horn. But, as in the video, get these units while you can, because they will all eventually be rebuilt into CM44AC’S.
I seen CSX YN2 AC4400CWS/CW44ACS, a lot on occasion. Some times, I would see the AC44 sporting the YN3. And on occasion I would also see ES44s, ES40S, And only twice I seen a dash 8 standard cab.
Great locomotive analysis, the GE cw44ac engines are among my top 5 personal favorite CSX locomotives and I enjoy seeing them hauling coal trains throughout the whole CSX system. It's also amazing to see that so many of these engines are still in service as these GE engines are now 20+ years old and are still operating.
Nice. I like the numbers on the CSX AC4400CW's. Some of them are single and double digit numbers. Another person said this on one of the comments, one of the best CSX AC4400CW's was 559. It had a RS3K horn. That is usually on BN locomotives. In April 2022 it was replaced with a K5HL though.
I'm from Europe and i don't know much about trains, but there's something special about these US freight locos. I love the way you've given a context to "watching trains go by". I've learned a thing or two and it already makes a difference watching these videos. Thanks and subscribed!
These were my favorite CSX widebody unit. Big, powerful, roomy and quiet in the cab, plus the AC traction motors on these engines sound good. When they load up they sound like jet engines taking off and at low speeds they have a nice moan to listen to. And the lightning bolts look cool.
5:16 There are also some oddball units with different horns like CSX 148 with a 3rd Gen K5HL. If it didn’t still have the YN2, I would confuse it for a GEVO lol.
I forgot to tell you this, CSX 320 was involved in Westville, Indiana train collision on January 6th, 2012!! And it was officially retired in 2012. And it was scrapped on-site in 2014! CSX 151 was destroyed in Irvine, KY train collision on January 14th, 2007! And it was officially retired in January 2007! And it was scrapped on-site! Luckily, 403 survived the wreck and was put back into service. And it was repainted into a YN3 colors! 130 was scrapped and 36 was put back into service and it was repainted into YN3B colors! CSX CW44AC 14 was rebuilt into CM44AC! Then it was destroyed in Sandstone, WV train collision in March 2023! It was scrapped! 536 was destroyed on impact and it was never rebuilt! Sorry! 😢 517 was wrecked in 2007! And it was destroyed and it was eventually scrapped! CSX CW44ACs 168, 384, 571 were wrecked in February 2020! And it were scrapped on site in 2020! 496 was wrecked in May 2018! It was retired and it was scrapped on site! 72 was involved on Keithville, Louisiana Train Collision on December 30th, 2013! Anyways, it was survived on the wreck and it was put back into service!

I grew up in Richmond until I moved to Winchester! It’s neat to see a bunch of clips from the Main Street crossing!

Another great episode! I remember when 9758 came to Buffalo a few years ago!
CP 9758 was at pone point the AWVR 767 for Unstoppable (2010)
The music you choose really adds to the videos, also! Love the bluegrass, etc.

these are pretty much my favourite CSX locomotives
The moaning noise of GE's AC traction motors never gets old to me.
nice video on the dash 9s
Nice video and new sub!!
If I were to suggest I would say that the CW44-9 would be the next one for future Engines of CSX
Can you do the Dash 9
You kinda forgot about some of the locomotives that were in collisions like #130 & #36 from the Cayce, SC train collision in February, 2018
Great video 👍👍👍👍
I hope you get 1000 subs, you deserve it

4:10 Now I know why they look exactly the same
CSX and UP Calls them the same. CW44ACs. UP has a few that are called CW44ACCTE
Can you try GE B36-7 locomotive engine of the CSX
5:51 Sounds like a BC Rail horn
1 DO U LIKE CSX
HERTIGE 2 WHATS UR FAVORITE HERTIGE IF SO WHAT IS IT 3 WHEN CAN U RAILFAN AT BOSTON
how many tons of freight can an AC4400CW pull on flat terrain?
I think man won earl Scruggs a Grammy award😂
Love this video
what is your favorite Old and new Locomotives favorite railfan spot and favorite horn
Old probably the ex Conrail dash 8s, new is the SD70AH T4, Railfan spot has to be either Walton KY or Danville Ky, and horn is the M5
Thank goodness NS didn't order any with their UGLY roof headlights. PS- CSX also had them numbered 5100-5122 I believe.
NS bought some CEFX AC4400CW's. Those have the nose headlights. I don't know if they are going to move them to the nose or keep the nose headlights.
Will there ever be other content than what you currently make?
Gotta do the GP15s
Nice vid
Dash 8s and dash 9s have YN2
Id love to see the SD70MAC and SD50s
The SD70s are definitely after my next episode!
He’s using foggy Mountain breakdown
Do you plan catching Amtrak one day?
I do lol
@@railsofkentucky2645 You have caught amtrak a couple times, so more likely you want to see an amtrak heritage unit
Make sure you be careful with the Coronavirus
