I recently discovered your channel via Jimmy DiResta's work and would like to say: I like the fact that you add the "what you'd do differently" on your videos. That aspect really helps us amateurs not only with the guesswork but also help gather confidence in doing something that is outside the comfort zone. I just started listening to the podcast you, David, and jimmy put out and love it. You guys inspire!
That's awesome to hear Joshua! Thanks!
I really like how you don't stress about whatever you did wrong -- just make notes on what you would do differently in the future. :) great job, bob!
Never thought a light fixture could be that straight forward. Thanks for sharing!
Nice lighting idea! Turned out great.
To hide the seam in the shade, you could feather the protruding edges with a sander.
Good tip, I hope it doesn't get buried
That's a lovely simple build - I like how easily the veneer comes together to just "form". Thanks!
Bob,
I just love your videos. Projects you choose and how you teach. Thanks!
Thanks Howard, I really appreciate that!!
Awesome project, so simple yet so beautiful. Make more of these things Bob!
One of your best sponsoring by now, together with the Gorilla Glue. Congrats Bob, I watched almost all your videos
Thanks!
Very nice! Quick and easy, subtle and stylish. Great project!!
Been looking for months for this sort of teaching tool. It is just awesome. I can now make two clamming wire baskets into ceiling lights as I always dreamed of/pictured in my mind. You made the entire process doable. I understand by seeing things being done. This works for me! THANK YOU!
That’s awesome to hear!!
Can’t stop watching your videos man, great work
Wow, that turned out awesome. Nice work, Bob!
Quick, simple, stylish, clean and effective. Great job!
Thank you!!
I really like how you use common materials for this, stuff anybody could easily get their hands on. And it looks great!
I've been binge watching I Like To Make Stuff videos all day!
Very cool! And with as expensive as light fixtures are, this seems like a very worthy project. Thanks for making it!
That came out great! I have to hang a new light in our foyer which needs some customization, so this was on point for me! Cool sponsor as well. Thanks again
Very clever. Very clever indeed!
Love it! Super simple, yet super practical AND pretty!
An awesome project, I'd never think of that. Looks great!
your videos make my thursday's better!
Beautiful lamp! Came out nice!
great video. This is a nice and fast fix to ad a bit of style.
That's a pretty cool build!
Nice project Bob, I need to do our dining room light.
Thanks Frank! I'd love to see your take on a light! I'm sure it'd be awesome :)
That is a pretty epic fixture, and it looks way more expensve than it probably is to make. Awesome project! :D
i swear you make the most amazing things
Great Video! Have you thought about covering the bottom with some kind of white shine-through material? I think that would make the light much more ambient and pleasant to the eye :)
Also because now you you're looking into the light from below which blinds you
Very nice 👍
Hi Bob.
Always a simple and amazing project!
I think that you´re already preparing the commemorative video for the 1 million subscribers episode.
What a nice lamp, realy liked the design!
Solid as allways :-)
Nice video Bob, keep up the good work!
I really like your ideas and your videos. That you don't try to cover your small mistakes. That you are giving your opinion on what you would have done to make the project even better. keep up.
Thank you!!
Really nice result, and great project idea ! :)
Yeah really a great idea for a project! I saw your channel, you are a maker too!! Will you make a video if you make this lamp?

I like how you give honest critiques at the end of each video.
Thanks Scott! Some people aren't a fan of that part, but I figure it might helps someone who plans to make their own.

Hi bob!

Nice project Bob,
Not far ago, I did a similar thing, but using LEDs. and the shape was a little bit different, I couldn't fine bamboo veneer around in my town.
I like how it came with you.
Very cool Bob. Have you thought about doing a "where are they now" follow up video for old projects? Just to see how things are working out.

Love the video!
Pretty decent light fixture, Bob! I've been wondering how to DIY one myself, that came out better (and easier) than anything I could think of. I might have added a frosted plexiglass disc to the bottom somehow.
That's nice, Bob! Very stylish :D
Thanks!
Excelente proyecto... Saludos de argentina
looks amazing and much simpler than I expected it to be!
Does it light the room well? the wood seems to block the light..
That is a good looking light fixture.
Thank you!!
Well done ,Bob :)

I am making one similar, but am using a wooden laundry hamper I bought from Canadian tire. It looks very similar. I like how yours is handmade though, and will be much sturdier.
