@@ebbios Snap On tools are really good tools but very expensive. Most mechanics have to finance them instead of buying them outright. Snap On tool trucks visit garages on a weekly basis to most likely collect payments instead of selling more tools. Lol

Canadian_Wolf 83 It’s called powder coating. The powder, and whatever you’re painting have opposite charges so the powder is attracted to, and stays on your project. Then you bake it in the oven to melt/dry it. It’s very tough, and the colour availability is endless. You can even get glow in the dark stuff.

That is the most robust sand blaster that I’ve seen on any restoration channel. Now some guys use paint remover before sand blasting to prevent the paint particles from mixing with the sand and causing a decrease in efficiency. Just a thought, though it certainly didn’t seem to slow you down. I loved the powder coating! I would have liked to see the high relief label painted a different color, but that’s just my preference. Overall, very well done!

I went through a toolbox of my grandfathers that was about to be thrown away and I found some cool stuff in there. I took the time to clean the crud and rust off the tools and found a vintage C clamp form. Cincinnati took co.,a ratchet labeled super ratchet that still works good,a pipe wrench form the 10’s I think it was, a auto adjusting vintage pipe wrench, and some vintage snap on stuff like a 1/2” ratcheting breaker bar adapter made in the 20’s. Along with some vintage 2 piece snap on extensions and a lot of old looking open end wrenches that i haven’t researched yet.

Watching the media blaster hit the paint, all I could think about was you just wiped the history out of that case. I was initially waiting for the tool to be rebuilt and the case to be clear coated. The result was clean, bit showing some history in that case would have made it beautiful.

It looks great! Nice job! It was a little painful to see the rusty ratchet and sockets (glad you cleaned them up) but I can't help but love the patina on the box BEFORE the restoration. Just something about it. Just my kooky opinion of course. Again, super nice job on the whole thing. Thanks for the video!

It does I agree, I intended to make it white but my skills layering powder coat are lacking, I tried to tape the snap on letters off and cut them out but was to hard, I should have just hand painted them. Thank you for watching though.

@@EasternNCSportbikes I use a wide tip paint pen for raised lettering it's easier to control than a brush...at least for me anyways and I always get results I'm happy with and no brush mark.

How did the plastic shell survive? A good idea (which I didn't do with mine) is to spray some foam onto the back to solidify the shell in the event that the plastic starts to get brittle. Mine is falling apart and now I need to get those springy things to hold all my sockets.
