I am a retired diesel mechanic and use to work on caterpillar engines myself on bulldozers. It’s a lot of bull work because everything is heavy. The only thing I would never do is put it all together without a torque wrench that’s for sure other then that did a great job.
Wow, this restoration is absolutely mind-blowing! Your skills and attention to detail are next-level. It’s amazing to see the X6170ZC620-5 engine brought back to life. Keep up the incredible work! 👏💯
Great work. A giant engine was cut up and assembled with simple tools, great expertise and low costs. But you did not mention the name of the engine and we do not know in which country this engine was made ❓. Thank you.
Mungkin kalo bukan ahli dibidang teknik msin/engin pasti takjub memang bongkar pasang mesin sebesar itu menguras tenaga sebab bautnya besar2 yg seharusnya membukaknya pakai mesin tapi bengkel ini dg cara manual ya mungkin dia sudah sring menghadapi kerjaan seperti ini atau dia ahli teknik mesin /engin semoga sehat selalu dan dapat rejeki yg banyak bisa medirikan bengkel yang canggih agar bisa menghemat tenaga amin kamsyah You Tobe.😮😮😮.
Thank you! I'm thrilled to hear you enjoyed the restoration! Reviving the X6170ZC620-5 engine was a challenging but rewarding process, and it's great to see that the attention to detail resonates with viewers. I’ll definitely keep pushing the boundaries and sharing more amazing projects!
Semua orang yg berkecipong dibidang teknik mesin melihat mesin /engin begitu besar dan sangat berat pasti merasa takjub juga merasa kagum pada seorang bengkel / servise mesin ini dg menggunakan tenaga manusia sebab bautnya besar2 memutarnya sangat berat mung kin dia sudah terbiasa dg kerjaan pada mesin besar jadi dia enjoi aja dalam bongkar pasang seperti in ya mungkin ahli dan sudah biasa semoga saja sehat selalu selamat berkarya dan banyak rejekinya amin.selamat menikmati karya You Tobe .😮😮😮.
Imagine what machines and huge amounts molten steel they need to build only one of such a powerful engine and they build hundreds of them in short times! Alone the electric energy they need to run all of the machines is really insane!
Due to the condition of this diesel engine, it spent years working and being poorly looked after. This is why it is important to always use demineralized water together with a good quality additive in the engine cooling system, to avoid corrosion in the block and other vital parts of the engine. It seems that this is a problem in third world countries, where people who enjoy motor vehicles are relaxed and lax with the maintenance of any type of vehicle. I speak from experience, because here in Brazil the vast majority of people who own a vehicle use tap water in their engine's cooling system.
Great job. But I was wondering where this "genius boy" was lol all I saw was middle aged men maybe one that was like 25. I wanted to see a ten year old rebuilding that diesel solo.
Not too shabby for an outdoors overhaul. Fortunately when the boat sank, it was in six inches of water as I saw no sign of water in this engine, remembering that it was two years in the drink, however it has shrunk to a significantly smaller size than when it was once the "worlds largest six cylinder engine on the worlds largest ships" The ladder that the real ship engines need must have fallen off. None the less, if properly installed & cared for in a large boat, it should serve long & well.
What is the warranty for this repair? No torque wrench at any point in the assembly process. It looks like they did not position the piston rings into their correct spaced out positions (see 2:10:25). They assembled what rod bearings with dirt hands. The assembly tub, where they did use some, is only a light machine oil. Pipe wrenches used in reassembly caused many metal fragments that were poorly removed before assembly. They used a pipe wrench as a torque wrench on the head bolts. They got it to run in the end but the big question is HOW LONG WILL IT KEEP RUNNING????
it always makes me feel uncomfortable when they don't use a torque wrench. I understand these are really expensive (can tell, I also live in a third world country), but I'd try to figure a way to at least have something that produces a similar torque (not sure how, probably using a weight at the end of a rod with a given size). in any case, the other stuff you mention is probably lack of experience or knowledge. I hope they can learn from them and hopefully get a torque wrench
looks like a ship engine whit the holes in flywheel for the manual slowturn, good work where is this? Vietnamn? Cylinderliners from Hell :) at the end isent the covers for the watercooling missing on the side of the enginee block?
Creative work of skillfull expertis thankyou

Most likely need a rebuild a few years down the road, job security.........!
Its remarkable of your skills and Talent, plus how you do the rusty engine into a new running engine, outrageous knowledge you are gifts with.
Genuis restoration ❤❤❤❤

Nice to see they care about the environment, letting all of that oil water seep into the ground.
Didn't oil come from ground?
And the water too
Nice to know that being a diesel mechanic makes someone a genius. Guess I need to update my CV.
Is there no end to your skill ,a pleasure to watch a master at work..Love your channel,

the work was so great and rough with the makeshift wrench tools. good but not guaranteed

When i saw the thumbnail picture of your video or you can say cover photo. The generator appeared to be as a turtle to me.

Torque wrench? Gudentight!
This engine is a copy of the Czechoslovak Skoda ČKD 6s160 engine. The timing distribution is 100% like SKODA 6S160

mantap
What brand is this engine, what is it used for and how many liters does it have? I am a specialist in engines for agriculture in Brazil.
Orang-orang hebat🎉
Boy meets diesel engine 😅

This has nothing to do with professional renovating, rebuilding or whatever. Do it yourself engine work.
You have no idea what you’re talking about. That was a complete rebuild.
wow wow Respekt
good job and What is the engine used for ?
Thanks my good friend, please watch my video to give me advice to improve myself.
@@RestorationTools6868 What is the engine used for ?
Nice.. But why cleaning clip is too short. Your video 2.5 hours.
Please brother
luar biasa
hebat
He didn’t “Restore” it… he disassembled, cleaned and reassembled with the same worn out parts!
You’re clueless. Replaced cylinder liners, new bearings and seals, relapsed valves, new piston rings. That’s a complete rebuild.
Hermoso
Ottimo restauro
🤙🤙🤙👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Honestly, from the remaing parts you can build another one.
No torque wrench used??
