still waiting for the lambo haha
Why buy the ETF? There is a use case you didnt cover, those who are convinced and are putting retirement funds in there (IRA) because they cant sell their IRA and put the coins in their hardware wallet.
@Andrei
Bitcoin is stupid. Why would you do that? Quit legitimatizing it.
You’re wrong about Fidelity lacking experience in bitcoing. It has been minding bitcoin since 2014, and started their own
crypto service in 2018 (Fidelity Digital Assets)
I would love to see an update to this video now that BTC is on the rise. I'm seeing IBIT is the best one now. I'd like to see if your views have changed. Most of them have lowered their fees.
Just turned 24 this month, a little over $33k invested! So glad to have a community online in this comment section. All my irl friends think the world is ending and our generation is completely destroyed financially. Well, while they keep thinking they won’t live to be 60, I’ll be prepared!
That's an incredible achievement at 24. Though I'd recommend not posting so much detail about your finances online.
It's actually pretty impressive for to have that much in an emergency fund at 24.... unless you come from a wealthy background of course. Most people would have probably put that into buying the latest Tesla.
That's why I think it's so important to get a financial coach or at least an accountability partner than ensures you're keeping your finances in check. A lot of people underestimate how far diligent financial planning can take you in just a few months.
@@NoraPresley I've been looking into that for a while now, but I need to know it's someone I can trust. Just got out of a messy and financially draining divorce and I need all the help I can get.
Do you have any recommendations?
Your comparison makes absolutely no sense. You are comparing how much the ETFs lost during that time but you are not comparing it to the real value of Bitcoin at the moment you made the video. ETF is a tracker and what makes a good ETF is how close they are to the real underlying value, not the absolute value lost or gained. If Bitcoin was $78 at the time of shooting the video, the whole evaluation would have been completely different!
If you want to compare Bitcoin ETFs, compare the ETF costs (which you did) coupled with how many and how big the gaps happened between the BTC value and the ETF values over a period of time (Is the ETF slow to react to price changes, are the dips and heights bigger or smaller than the real value, how fast does the correction takes, etc)
Ya I was about to say the same thing, the companies those etfs invested in went down that’s why those etfs went down. The etfs that hold 100% Bitcoin correlate with the price of Bitcoin, so when Bitcoin continues going up you’ll see a correlation in price.
Your videos are the best. Love that you speculate without certainty. No one can predict the future.
Man, I absolutely love your channel. I watch a host of related channels and by far you are the most informative, easy to understand, and entertaining channels around.
Thanks & keep up the awesome work.
Nah
You call it nerd stuff, but it was still very useful to know the nuts and bolts and how the net selling affects the liquidity and supply/demand. It's important to recognize that sort of thing to use for other assets and contexts
Suggestion: When you update the video once these ETFs are increasing, it would also be interesting to know which ETF has the highest correlation to Bitcoin’s price. As I would be interested in the ETF which most closely tracks Bitcoin.
So basically this video was a 14 minute waste of time.
I purchased Jan 25 - as of today IBIT up 3.78% - ARKB up 7.33%. Quite the difference.
Are they not supposed to track BTC? Why the stack difference? Any update? Did it catch up to ARKB?
I told my dad to swap his GBTC for FBTC.
IMO fidelity will be able to lose all its bitcoin without going bankrupt for a while.
Coinbase and greyscale, I doubt it.
I think that's a very reasonable and logical approach
I sold GBTC for half FBTC and IBIT. I think that's the safest bet.
@@joy2world97 That's my balance too. With a little BITO and holding my own crypto to test it all out.
It’d be cool if you could have compared the funds’ price movement and bitcoins price movement. After all, that’s what they’re trying to replicate. The true winner is which fund performed most like what’s it’s trying to replicate…
I personally think ARKB is the most tightly correlated to the actual price
I sold all my GBTC and split it between FBTC and IBIT. I would say the best ETF is the one that tracks the underlying asset (Bitcoin) the best while having a good expense ratio.
I did exactly the same thing. Fidelity may not have the experience of bitcoin, but they definitely track it. So, I hold Bitcoin, IBIT, and FBTC on Fidelity's platform. Now I can sleep at night. 😆
@@robertmitchell239does the Blackrock ETF track the real value of Bitcoin?
Similar approach here
Same
This explains so much. Thanks brother 👊
Andrei, how about a video showing the pros and cons for self custody vs ETF's inside a tax shelter? If I retire in 15 years and BTC has increased significantly and I want to start using it as income but get murdered on the taxes, this makes the ETF's look more desirable.
can you update this - I think the numbers have really changed. thanks!
Why did you have to buy to compare?
Hey buddy. I live in Indiana!
imdomt care so much about price movement… I care about how well the price to NAV minus expenses tracks the price of BTC. if that makes sense. similar to choose a S&P etf… the price per share means nothing. You want the market.. how well does each indexed etf track the index. the closer the better, adjust3d for expesnses. sadly this data isnt fully opening available yet.
To that end… I would “guess” FBTC would track best as its all in house and potentially less custody / transaction fees lost to a third party.
The question is did you buy $100 of BTC at the same time to compare? Did the actual asset do better or worse in the same timeframe?
Need an ETF that has 10 or so of these Cryptocurrencies pooled in it. Like a VOO for crypto.
They sort of have one of those already...BITW Bitwise 10 Crypto Index tracks the performance of the top 10 crypto by market cap. It is not quite the same as the Bitcoin Spot ETFs but more like BITO that tracks the general performance.
Awesome content as always Andre
Appreciate it!
Love how you nailed it on the last minute!!
The one that lost the most, has the most exposure, so when the price drops, you loose more.... almost twice as much.
I was waiting for someone to do a vid like this comparing them . Ty
Fidelity has been mining btc since 2012 pretty sure they have a perfect track record for holding that btc for more than a decade. Surprised you didn't know that about Fidelity. Hope you continue this experiment longer.
Thanks Andrei. I think I will go with FBTC
I can’t wait for the guide!! Great video!
Coming soon!
I would really appreciate the guide step by step on how to buy and store it. I don’t know where to start to do it safely.
The Fidelity FBTC is an ETP. What is the difference?
And during that time how Bitcoin did? So which ETF tracked it the closest?
This is the real question
Where do I buy Bitcoin ETF at or from? Ty
Ever heard of Google? Use it
Thank you love when you make bitcoin videos look forward to you making a part two with more data on the ETFs you’re awesome!
never enough crypto videos esp if it’s bitcoin related. ignore the haters you’re easily one of the top YT finance folks
I see andrei upload
i click the video
Any updates on performance for the ETFs?
I second this
What assets is held inside a btc etf? Nvidia? A gold etf can have the mining, jewels, conductors, etc. But btc, it hard guys. It looks like a trap.
I dont care if it goes up or down for the time being, having a ETF available means credibility in the eyes of big investors. It ensures bitcoin will be here 10 years down the road, when I will be cashing out! Great vid Andrei! Thanks
Well said!
Doing a follow up on this in a few months will be useful
Did you find one from him?
You should have explained why these price differences. They should all be the same since they follow the price of the same thing.
@AndreiJikh. Any plans to do a 6 month update video like this?
I should!
@@AndreiJikh I’m probably not the only one who would be interested.
Love your channel and content Andrei. Thank you for what you do and keep up the great work.
@@megaosfanI’m also interested in
It's too early. I'd wait a month for things to settle down and then how they are doing.
You are the best and so informational. Thank you thank you🥳
It is not only you, you got some four legged assistants!
I am not against Bitcoin ETFs at all. The ETFs will be safe gates for traditional investors who have no idea what Cryptocurrency is and want to have a piece of it in terms of ETFs. However, as an OG cryptocurrency investor since 2016, I can tell you that buying Crypto off exchanges and moving them to your Cold wallet will be the safe bet because you won't have to pay annual management fees (~0.5 - 0.8%) from the ETF offerers and the risk of losing them all if there are any exchange bankruptcy.
I am new to this ETF thing but isn't ETF point is to mimic the underlying assets price. In this case it should rise and fall equal amount as the bitcoin does?
Can you publish the chart . because nowhere in the video you show GBTC results .
I dipped my toe in by buying 100 shares of both BITB and BRRR on the morning of their launch. As of today, BITB is down -19.82% and BRRR is down -14.04%. Not exactly unexpected as I intend to give it time for things to settle down.
Why didn't you buy it after it had dipped? Or was you expecting it to sky rocket after launch? Would be a good time to buy now

Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains.
Points for Grey's Sports Almanac
Good video. Can we get an update with the etf
Thank you, sir! Entertaining and just the right amount of nerdy. I need more data, too! Lol
Can you plz make a video how to buy real thing as a cold storage.. i hv no idea how to obtain it, a beginner
Is there a way to just buy bitcoin on a reoccuring basis? Like through an app?
yes, of course there is!
Bro can’t hide the baldness by combing hair forward.
Put 1k into FBTC and just letting it ride 🤷🏽♂️
Great video Andrei, just one question though. All those ETFs follow the same bitcoin. How can there be so much difference in price after only one week? Or is that with fees included?
Yeah I'm not understanding how you can determine best and worst with only a week of data for something that has so much volatility.
Where did your bitcoin prediction video go?? It cut out in the middle and now it’s no longer available.
It's back up!
Or you could just buy your Bitcoin through Swan Bitcoin where they custody through Fortress and you can eventually self-custody whenever you want.
Yep dca every week and smash buy the big dips when have extra cash
Great video, thanks!
Would be interested in your thoughts comparing holding MSTR vs. any of the Bitcoin etfs in an IRA of ROTH
I went with ARKB
What was the point of buying all of the Bitcoin ETFs? It’s not like buying them reveals anything. Just read the prospectus of each one and summarize it in english for us. That would actually be useful.
Redo this performance video every quarter... Wayyyy too early to be talking about performance after one week 😅
Just like GLD and SLV I would rather buy actual BTC... thats just my opinion... although my head keeps saying I should put atleats 1k into each and walk away....
The best etf is the one that has a good expense ratio and tracks the price of bitcoin the best.
I hold BITQ, which is kind of like the picks and axes of the crypto world... But I prefer to just hold mine on a cold wallet didn't see the need to buy an ETF right now until the management fees come way the hell down specially for something that is essentially passive management wise
i watch these videos for his watch collection
Love your content! ❤
Thank you so much 🙏
Yea, it's a bit too soon to judge these ETF. But good time to start gathering data.
You compared ten Bitcoin ETFs to each other. But did you compare it to the performance of Bitcoin during the same period?
Right
I'll include it in my next comparison video
What is bitcoin?
Too early to tell. Did the video little too early
I haven’t been to this channel in years lol
BTCO?
Do you think GBTC will lower their fees to compete with other Btc etf’s? This was very helpful. Thank you!
Slothana could be a hidden gem, but I'm waiting for more proof of concept 🤔💎
wouldn't it best best best to go with blackrock's etf since they have the most volume and blackrock itself has the most money and assets to secure itself?
Hopefully the video gives a framework for how to think about it all
Andrei I'm all ears Brother! Let's ride! Thanks for the most informative talk regarding Bitcoins ETFs if watched over the last week. Keep it coming!!
what about the price of all of them would that not way into your decision for shares of each
the honest answer of "here's what I think if have and also I don't know enough to give the best advice"
How do you buy a bitcoin etf?
Are you thinking of self custody cold wallets like Blockstream Jade and Coldcard?
Do you have an opinion on STCE?
BITU ?
Is the BTCO ETF better than buying the Robinhood Crypto BTC?
I'm sticking with fidelity
Why would anyone buy the Bitcoin ETF, when they can purchase the real thing 🤦♂️
Because you can’t buy the real thing in your 401k.
Same as gold, it’s safer and more convenient
Some institutions are obligated to use a limited range of investment vehicles including ETFs. They are not legally able to self custody BTC.
@@timminore2126 So what? Keep your 401k if you want to for diversification purposes, but buy Bitcoin direct from an exchange and safe guard it be putting it on a hard wallet…
Because you can grow it tax free in a roth account...
Hey mate
Can we see the results of the 10 ETFs now please ???
Andrei ad’s just came alive today. Sheesh.
As always, great video. I'm not sure why, but the glasses you have on reflect the light in a distracting way. Maybe change the angle of the light a bit higher. Thought you might want to know. Not hating on you!
Noted!
Thank you as always, Andrei
Where you can even invest Bitcoin ETF???
Policy Genius sponsored the portion of the video where you talk about Policy Genius 🤣
i thought this was a spot bitcoin ETF. did bitcoin go down 7-8% since the day you bought it? so spot bitcoin ETF's aren't 100% backed by bitcoin? Thank you Andrei Jikh
thanks
Fidelity has been mining their own Bitcoin since 2014. I think they know what they are doing.
It's in red. But wait after tax return investing coming up
I think it’s a better idea to start an Itrust capital account.
you rock dude . thanks for this break down
You bet!
Are any of these spot etfs settled in actual btc ???
If not then they are barely spot
Nope, it’s just paper
This was a great experiment. At least you're getting people up on game. ETF allocations are low, and recommend people buy pure BTC from an exchange.
THANKS
The answer is self custody. Secure and no fees!
