You are my go to pool expert!
I’ve been using c-pool clean + clear mineral treatment to keep my water balanced.
Do you any experience with it?

I would also add the visibility of toys in the pool makes it more of an attractive nuisance than it already is and could lure a small child from a neighboring property or the road

Hi Steve, Pool opening question for you --- one of my return plugs leaked over the winter and water got back to the pump. Now the jandy valve (at the pump that goes to the returns) is cracked. What's the best way to cut out and replace the jandy valve? And what's the best kind of return plug to ensure this doesn't happen again? I used the black rubber wingnut version. Clearly didn't tighten sufficiently (but didnt want to crack the fitting). thanks; great videos as always.

Two more reasons: 1) Pool floats 'attract' debris and do not allow it to freely float around to be collected by an auto skimmer. 2) Skimmer weir doors get stuck open and do not properly pull surface water, reducing skimming action.

Thanks for the info! One question though, if the pool toy can increase chlorine demand then would the solar blanket have the same effect considering they are both made of platstic(albeit different kind)?

If the solar blanket is dirty then yes it will also contribute to the chlorine demand. Especially during the day time when the sun will heat the toys / blankets. This is one of the reasons I recommend to only cover the pool at night and remove every morning.
